There are no parodies but there are a lot of references to other media that are detailed in the author's notes.

If alternate universe, I must note that I will be withdrawing all my past and future stories, video games, and other projects from the Darwin's Soldiers canon and incorporating them into the Chasing Seconds canon instead.
