A Predictable Trend

I have noticed that as soon as the gang is finished singing the "Good times, good friends" song, it turns to crap after that.  The mountain explodes (or booms as Petire calls it) or they get chased by a sharptooth or some other horrible thing happens.  It makes the story very predictable and boring.  Has anyone else noticed this?
