The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Saw it on a plane, it was better than the first live action Lion King, I'll give it that. The characters had more facial expressions and the plot wasn't bad, i think it benefitted from telling an original story over rehashing an already-told-and-told-better narrative. I actually thought it was funny how the plot was almost beat-for-beat identical to the Land Before Time (orphaned kid gathers a tribe if disparate species while traveling to mythical land of plenty his parents told him about), just with the Cera figure being jealous instead of racist

The music was not great though, probably the weakest point of the movie. Not a single song was memorable or even particularly well-crafted, I was amazed when the credits revealed Lin Manuel Miranda wrote those songs, I didn't hear a lick of his usual style in them.

What is there to say. We lost, now is the time to hunker down and hope your verse in the poem never comes up. Any meaningful form of opposition is no longer possible, so form a local community for protection and don't draw attention to yourself, it's for the best.

I wonder if Gen 6 will be its own thing or if they're gonna try to keep the "G4 Expanded Universe" thing going. Kinda hope they go back to each Gen being its own canon, G4 has gone through enough with Gen5 killing off the entire cast through the ravages of time (or, in Twilight's case, plot-based character assassination).

So from the beginning of Gen5, especially after they started referencing the G4 era, I've been hoping Starlight Glimmer (my favorite pony) would appear or get a reference somewhere. To my delight, it would appear that happened!

Discord appeared in one of the comics, and Sunny Starscout said this line referencing the events of "To Where and Back Again." This is good enough for me, at least best pony is remembered by history.

(Just for brownie points, she also appears in an official Gen5 toyline.)

So is Pony Life just dead? I was still hoping Starlight Glimmer might make an appearance later down the line.

Decided to look this up too while I'm at it, Starlight never appeared in Pony Life but once again she DID appear in the toyline. I'll take it!

I was excited (and still am for the XD rerelease, I've wanted a shadow lugia for literally over a decade, it's my primary pokemon white whale) but ye gods, not $500 excited! I've waited this long, I can wait another 5 years and see if the price ever drops to something reasonable, especially since Pokemon Z has been confirmed to still be playable on Switch 1.

The devs fixed the bug! The mysterious coins don't spawn in the middle of nowhere anymore, haha. It's kinda cool to have left an impact on the game, no matter how small, since I've put a lot of time and attention into it (5k hours so far, my most-played game of all time) and it's kinda fun to know I made my own tiny little mark on its long storied history.

Oooh this is so cool. Incredible find! Storyboards are so cool, I love seeing in-development work like this (animatics and alpha game builds similarly)

1988 Theatrical Release / Re: Changes you would have made to the film
« on: February 27, 2025, 07:51:49 PM »

It wasn't actually the one she gave him, since that one was bigger. He was just reminded of her by it. Sure, Ducky says it's the same one, but she can't say that for sure unless Littlefoot told her, and at no point between when they meet and the two come across Petrie does Littlefoot tell her this.

If it was. I doubt Littlefoot would just let it go if it made it to the Great Valley.

Forgive me, it's been a very long time since I've seen the film. If it's not the treestar she gave him, where did it come from? Do we see him grab it at some point?

I like to namedrop Flammarion Ferriera (and I made his page on the LBT Wiki), storyboard artist for a ton of the sequels, because his name is hilarious

Does anyone remember that one guy who never did anything but post the most esoteric franchises in the crossover thread. Every single post, hundreds of them over years, that were all exactly like this:

Quote
Beyblade X LBT

Never any detail on how on earth it would work, or make any sense. Annoyed me at the time, but now I miss him sometimes
