I thought it might be interesting to see what programs people use.  It might also be interesting to list each program's features and if it was free or not.  I'll go first:

1:  windows messenger 8.5 beta.  It sends instant messages.  Cost=free!

2:  3gp video converter.  It converts videos to 3gp format, allowing them to play on my cell phone.  Cost=yes

3:  absolute mp3 splitter and converter.  It converts all audio formates and splits and joins audio files as well.  Cost=yes

4:  dvdx player.  It plays dvd's and has a built in dvd decoder.  Cost=yes

5:  active screensaver builder.  It helps you make your own screensavers.  Cost=yes

6:  allok video joiner.  This is the best video converter/joiner program I have.  Cost=yes

7:  ashampoo anti-spyware.  It's the best one I've found so far.  Cost=yes

8:  ashampoo movie shrink and burn.  It does everything that vdub does, but it's a lot easier to use.  Cost=yes.

9:  av music morpher gold.  Does all sorts of stuff with audio.  Cost=yes

10:  convertxtodvd.  converts avi files to dvd.  cost=yes

11:  magic iso.  Burns and creates iso files.  cost=yes

12:  anytoicon.  Very primitive program that creates icons.  cost=yes

13:  icon changer.  changes icons of exe files.  cost=free

14:  easy gif animator.  creates cool gif images.  cost=yes

15:  easy video splitter.  Splits movies and is very helpful in creating music vids.  Cost=yes

16:  invisible secrets.  Desquises files and encrypts data entries.  Used it back when I wanted to keep my lbt obsession a secret.  Cost=yes.

17:  movie joiner.  very simple avi joiner.  avi's must have identical parameters.  cost=yes.

18:  movie gear.  makes icons and cursors.  cost=yes

19:  open video joiner.  very simple movie joiner.  cost=yes

20:  replay music.  captures streaming audio.  cost=yes.

21:  right click image converter.  converts up to 40,000 images at once and has a right click option.  cost=yes.

22:  tune up utilites.  applys visual styles and tunes up computer.  cost=yes.

23:  ultra audio ripper.  extracts audio from video file.  Cost=yes

24:  winrar.  creates and extracts archives.  cost=yes.

25:  xp repair pro.  repairs windows xp.  cost=yes.

26:  avg professional.  antivirus, spyware, malware, firewall.  cost=yes

27:  vlc media player.  Plays all types of media.  cost-free!

28:  photoshop cs3.  look it up.  there's too much to describe!  cost=oooooh yes!!!

29:  netscape browser 8.5.  cool browser to surf the net.  cost=free!

30:  adobe after effects.  waaaaay too much to describe.  cost=OUCH!

31:  iconfx.  creates cool transparent icons.  cost=yes

these are just the programs I use regularly.  There are hundreds more.  Come on!  List your programs! :D

You can tell a lot about a person by the programs they use.

Well I don't really see why I should list if I paid for a program or got a free version.

1. Opera
2. Windows Media Player
3. MSN
4. AIM
5. Yahoo
6. Windows Movie Maker

Those are the programs I use every time I get on the computer.

Looks like Petrie's on the right track. :D
Like I said in another thread, why pay X dollars for something that can be found for free and is superior to the pay-for product?

In case anyone is interested in acquiring the program, they should know if it's free or not.  This was mainly to see what people use all the time and what programs are out there.

You should upgrade to cs3 Action!  It's much better! :D

Every program that Darkhououmon listed has a free version easily available so I don't think it applies to her.

I have to disagree. I've used the program and from I've seen, it's virtually identical to CS2. I've gotten rid of the trial version of CS3 though. I really don't like it. It's so hard to use the selection option now. It was so much easier in CS2, but in CS3 I was having a hard time with it. So I'm sticking with CS2.
