How bad does it hurt to have your adult teeth pull

I actually had only one wisdom tooth that had erupted a little bit-on the lower right side. The X-rays showed the others growing toward my other teeth, which is one of the reasons why we had them removed.

And I should really get some ice on my left cheek. It's all puffed up like I have the Measles...only I don't.
