Inspired by my most recent topic regarding a question with email clients.
Which way of managing email do you guys think is better? Do you think internet-based email is better, or do you prefer downloading your email?
For me, I can't really give an answer other than Undecided. I haven't gotten to use an email client yet, so I cannot give it a fair opinion. I only use webmail because, well, that's all I ever used. I would like to use an email client someday in the future so I can more fairly judge it and decide if I feel it is for me, or if I should stick to webmail.
What about you guys?

Webmail all the way. I was having issues with clients, so just figured I'd dump it altogether. To having multiple accounts...oh well so I got to log out and log back in....took me what five seconds? Not hard to get used to. :)

For me web based email is far safer. I finally dumped OE after one of my email accounts was compromised by spammers. I have Thunderbird which IMO is easier than OE, but I seldom use it.
BTW I use my Gmail account for personal, FB, Twitter, a few online shopping outlets. I use Yahoo for business-related messages, and an old Hotmail acocunt for everything else.

Well I started using Thunderbird yesterday. And so far, I like what I see. Yeah it's a little strange trying to get used to it, but I like how convenient it is. I can check all my emails in just one program. I've managed to archive all my messages and saved them so I have backups. And having an address book like this does help make things easier for me. This is the first time I used an address book.
The only problem I had with it so far is for some reason my 2010 emails aren't archiving so I'm unable to save them. I'll have to figure out the reason for this later.

Webmail:
- No loss of emailaddress when you leave the email client
- A lot more space
- Always accessible (some email clients say you must have certain programs installed)
I never saw the use of email clients..

Email clients are a better choice for backup. I had a lot of emails I wanted to backup, and Thunderbird made that easy for me. With Webmail, once the email is deleted, its gone forever. So if you have anything important that you accidentally deleted, well say goodbye to it forever.
And from my experience with Thunderbird, you can use it to check Webmail rather than download the emails to the hard drive. So it becomes convenient in the sense that you can check all your email in this one program. I have multiple email addresses so Thunderbird makes it easier for me to check my email.
