A concept I came up with:

TV series episodes and original ideas can be done at any time. Movies might last all of every other year or something, and progress made by one player can be seen by anyone.

For instance, someone blocks the pass in VIII by meeting up with Mr. Thicknose, and then there will be a huge pile of snow for everyone else to climb for a while until Thicknose comes back. Someone finds the Tinysauruses in XI, and all of the NPCs try to go after them and give special quests until they're found by someone else.

Also, I stand by that he wouldn't have found the Valley. Part of the reason he was so willing to try was the fact that the directions were his mother's last words, and without them I doubt he would be as motivated.

Actually, that's true. I don't think he'd be quite as trustful as he is, though, and it would be unlikely the gang would form the way it did. As for Spike, maybe he wouldn't die immediately, but I doubt he'd live long, not having a family and all. And Petrie would probably not learn to fly until he found his mother.

Well, I was thinking maybe a secret area which allows you to get like 1 Tinysaurus a week (perhaps costing some items) and lets you set hotkeys to attack, stay, follow, etcetera. I don't think it would just let you control an army for nothing.

Also, Spike hatches and is almost immediately killed, due to Sharptooth not having been slowed down and his parents not being there to protect him, and Petrie never learns to fly.
