I'm sure many feel the same way, and not just LBT characters but some other ones also  from other shows and series.

This doesn't bother me at all...the one thing I think that stands out about Ducky is her happy go lucky attitude towards life.

It's no big deal. When I was in 3rd grade, I had a enormous crush on the character Brooklyn in Gargoyles  :wow ...but I broke up with him a long time ago to be with a real human guy :p

I've never had a crush on a fictional character myself. But I knew that some people do get crushes on fictional characters. I may never truly understand it (it even confuses me at times) but I don't give anyone a hard time because of it. I only really have a problem with it if these people take their character crushes too far (such as bashing other pairings for that particular character).

It's not hard to believe, nor is it strange.  This usually happens to people who have either had a bad relationship in the past or they have been spending too much time in front of the TV or computer and not socializing enough.

Or it could also be a medical condition, but that is very uncommon.  Maybe if you've had the crush for years and can't get attracted to real people, then you should go see a psychiatrist or something.

people tend to have attractions to a fictional character because they're portrait as perfect, something that doesn't resist in reality.  I mean, sure it'd be great to find someone perfect like some fictional characters we see in movies, but they just don't exist.  That's why people get attracted to stars and such.  They're portrait as perfect as well.  Cartoon characters seem so real now, especially anime so it's not becoming unusual for someone to be attracted to a cartoon character anymore.  Now, if it were Minny Mouse or something, then I'd say you're a little loco. :lol

Oh, and I think this may belong somewhere else than the sequels section.  Perhaps the fridge or AM if it starts to get controversial.

Naw.  That could be it, but not very likely.  I've never been serious with a girl either, and a lot of people aren't.  That doesn't turn them into people who have crushes on fictional characters.  I think there's nothing wrong with you.  If it doesn't go away, you might want to seek some mental help, but so long as you're fine with who you are and it's not hurting anyone, I don't see what's wrong with it.  If you've thought to yourself "am I crazy?", then you're probably not.  Crazy people don't know or even think they're crazy.

Not sure about Ducky being perfect, if the sky color stones is cannon to someone then she has a greedy streak she's not shown before.  Though I'd rather they brought in someone else, or had Cera doing that stuff then Ducky, but that is another topic.

I see nothing wrong with someone having a crush on a fictional character and it could be normal, just that society sees it as odd, and anything that diveates from what society accepts and dictates as normal.

I've seen a lot of online posters say they've a crush on Jessica Rabbit (for obvious reasons--namely two of them. :P: :P: ).  Most characters are presented to be human-like so a crush is almost natural.

Yes, add in the way certain characters look, their personality and the fact they are voiced by actual humans, some folks getting a crush on certain characters is understandable.

This is very true...the human voice actors give the characters depth and emotion, so this isn't too strange.

I don't think it's weird at all I would be onere all day if I explained all the animated characters that I have a crush on. But let me just name some just for the record. Over the past few years I have had crushes on.........

Roxanne: (Max's Girlfriend from the original Goofy Movie)

Cadpig: (She was the smallest puppy in 101 Dalmations:The Series)

Ducky

Vitani(Lion King II:Simba's Pride)

Angel: (Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure)

Dixie:(Fox and the Hound 2)

Brandy Harrington( Brandy and Mr. Whiskers)

I'm not gonna be shouting it off any rooftops but fantacizing even about cartoon characters is completeley normal IMO.

It's really no big deal.  I have this sort of problem myself when it comes to tomboyish girls on TV.  I just love their personality far too much.

Since Cera's big debut, I've had a crush on her and I could care less.  Yet, mine is not so totally obsessive that I would bash any possible future relationships she might have.

Besides, it's just part of my huge obsession with tomboyish girls.  It's so huge, I just might end up marrying one someday. :)

That¥s no problem that you have a crush with one of the LBT characters. And in fact, Ducky is the cutest character of the gang. I don¥t know how someone couldn¥t like her :p . I almost have a crush with every LBT character from the gang. But I am not too obsessed of them, that I haven¥t got a nice and happy real life. I have friends, a family, what do I need more. In fact, I would be very glad to have a girlfriend.  :(  But that¥s off topic.

However, be who you like to be and don¥t try to change yourself. ;)

Ducky's an awesome character to have a crush on. I didn't care about LBT in the period of my life where I developed crushes, but if I had, Ducky would've been the one I chose too (kinda helps that she's my all-time favoite character :D )!

Hey there, mcr mad (mcr rocks, btw).  Dude, I totally know what most of y'all are talking about in here.  Years back, I had a MAJOR crush on Sonic the Hedgehog.  However, I didn't like how he was attracting all the females (could'nt take the heat, I guess :lol).  Anyhoo, I see nothing wrong with these kinds of crushes as long as one doesn't become too possessive.  I've also had crushes on Littlefoot, Double Dee from Ed, Edd & Eddy, Aladdin, Prince Derek from The Swan Princess, and Beast in human form from Beauty and the Beast (watch out princesses, this Southern bell is comin' in :lol).  BTW mcr mad, Ducky is not only a cute gal but is also very pretty (that is to be taken as a compliment, not a sweet-nothing).  I don't want this to come across as disturbing by any means y'all, but I hope to find a gentleman someday who has Cera's straightforwardness, LF's compassion, Petrie's eccentricity, Spike's courage, and Ducky's love of life.  The Gang all have nice personality traits.  Hmmm.... now to work on Mr. Threehorn.... :lol  :lol)

It can be seen as normal, though some less open minded folks would not see it as such.    It's one of those things you can, likely, only share with certain people.

And with the human voice actors the person can seem completely real.  It likely shows how open minded the person with the crush can be.

Hah, I don't find this unusual at all, don't worry. :lol I'm not sure I get attracted to characters in the same way (I don't really get a...romantic attraction, per say), but I can get VERY obsessive about characters that really appeal to me for some reason or another. When it comes to LBT, I really like Chomper and Cera, but there are many...many cartoon characters I 'love' in a sense. I usually like the 'not so perfect' characters, sometimes even the 'villains' or sidekicks to the villains. Characters who're somewhere inbetween 'good' and 'evil', so to speak. Sorry if I'm not making any sense. A couple examples are Iago, from Aladdin and Meowth from Pokemon (also two characters I really love). There's something really intriguing to me about characters like that. They're not good nor are they 'evil', they're...complex. I guess that's it. Makes them interesting and gives them more persona. :P: I can't say I'm physically attracted to them (in most cases), but there certainly is something very appealing about them.^^ So, call it what you like but yes...I love my friends from the animation world and don't really care what people think.

I never really liked Saphira.  I thought that the computer animation in Eragon was cheesy and cheap.  Sorta like they only had 1.2million to make the movie or something (which, when ya think about it, that's not a lot of money to hire all the actors, hire the computer animists, stuff like that.)  I didn't like her voice very much either.  She sounds like my mother! :lol

As for a romantic love for fictional characters, that isn't really likely for me because I'm not gay and I obsess about the male characters usually.  I love Littlefoot and Inuyasha, but never romantically.  I may be obsessed about the characters, but I would never develop a romantic love for a male character, no matter how obsessed with them I became.

As for the female characters, I really like Cera.  Could I go romantic with her?  I don't want to.  I wouldn't want that to happen to me.  I would much rather just keep it a liking than a crush personally.  That's not going to be tough either because I don't want to have romantic feelings for a fictional character.  I just don't see the point.  Why would one wish to develop feelings for someone they could never meet or be with?  If it just happens, that's one thing, but I think trying to fall in love with a fictional character isn't a good idea.

-Littlefoot
-Loofah & Doofah (LBT XIII)

Hm, now that I'm looking at this topic, I saw a picture on deviantart that rekindled my love for this character, of course, it only lasted 10 seconds. :p

http://Ninjatic.deviantart.com/art/Avatar-Zuko-86018171 (http://Ninjatic.deviantart.com/art/Avatar-Zuko-86018171)

Also I just want to say the only reason why I've had crushes on some of these characters was because I had a hard time socializing with people of the opposite gender. I had no friends of the opposite gender. :p And well, I just wasn't interested in anyone because I was more focused on looks then personality. But then it completely changed over time.

Since everyone thinks a bit differently, this could be risky since your mindset could greatly differ from what I have in mind, but I'll try to give my best opinion based on someone else that has the same feelings, which are not wrong in any way. If this guy and you are similar, than what I have to say should involve you as well. This is my analysis, not official textbook information, so I can't prove this. But this advice seemed right before, so I'll tell you too. There are two ways for an attraction to start. There is the quick way: outer attraction, which has a smaller success rate of being something more in reality. This simply involves taking one glance at someone, and being physically drawn to their appearance, which, if you are like the other person who was drawn to non human animation, this method seems very unlikely. In order for this to be the case, you would have had to immediately fall for her after seeing her just once, without actually seeing how she acts in any way, which might give off things like increased heart rate, warm sensation in the facial tissue, increased perspiration, and the like. While that is slightly possible, I prefer to lean toward the option that is much more likely: the slow way it starts: inner attatraction, which has a high success rate of ending up serious in real life. This involves getting to know what someone is like. How they think and act. If they are optimistic or a little more negative. How they treat others and listen to those around them. How they value friends and if they can be trusted. These things take time. Now this kind of attraction doesn't automatically mean you think they're ugly, just not flashy enough to reel you in just from looking. I believe you are drawn to her personality. And after that happens, just looking at her picture will subconsciously remind you of her personality and activate that warm feeling inside you, giving you the impression that it's her body you really like.

If Ducky didn't exist, you would probably have found another character with similar attributes. In Ducky's case, it would be things like innocence, optimism, loyalty, compassion, friendlyness, and the like. But this situation is actually a wonderful thing. It's not that human girls aren't right for you, it's just that you haven't yet found a the girl who matches your fine taste. But this is where the good part comes in: now finding the right girlfriend has just become easier. Since you like a character for what she symbolizes, you can now know what it is you prefer in a relationship, and therefore can look for girl who shares the qualites Ducky has. But be warned. Since Ducky was created through imagination, some of her qualities have been perfected, far more than what you'd usually find in human. So while I doubt you'll find a perfect match, knowing what to look for can lead to the closest thing possible. Consider this a blessing. You are probably curious how I came up for this theory for the other guy I had mentioned. Well, let's just say it's a great deal easier when you try to understand something through personal experience rather than observing some other individual first. So I can emphasize, not just sympathize with this kind of experience. Who was it for me? Hehe. I am very sorry StarfallRaptor. I hope the fact that we must fight for the same girl's affection won't come between us. Only time will tell who she likes more. I love you Cynder!

PS: But maybe we had better wait a bit. We need a plan to get Spyro out of the picture because he'll totally get in our way. Something about spewing infernos from his mouth makes me a bit uneasy. Any ideas?
