General Land Before Time / Most Neutral LBT Movie
« on: June 11, 2008, 06:59:17 PM »
Most of the Land Before Time movies don't effect me. I'd say the one with Mo in it was the...most neutral movie for me, because everyone was saying how great of a character Mo was and stuff and at the end of the movie I was just like, "...Err..."

Very nice...I haven't seen a whole lot of non-English LBT songs. So far I've only come across "Eggs" in Finnish. This was nice to listen too, though! I did quite like this version.

General Land Before Time / i need to get this off my chest

I think developing crushes on animated characters or whatever is fine. For example, a lot of people have crushes on certain PokÈmon. So...yeah, it's not really all that strange...

Episode Discussion / Discuss: The Great Egg Adventure
« on: January 17, 2008, 08:26:24 PM »
Hyp did look quite a bit different (and he was a lot smaller) from his self in the 3rd movie, but his attitude was still the same, which I appreciated. Hyp, Mut and Nod are among my favorite sequel characters, and the episode itself was very good. I think the eggs were blue in the beginning because they were in the darkness.

Episode Discussion / Discuss: The Amazing Threehorn Girl

Yeah, the part where the crocodile just struggled  through the canyon Cera ran down made me think "...okay...how big ARE these things?"

I think they were meant to be small Sarcosuchus or small Deinosuchus, both of which were 50-foot-something long crocodiles. Triceratops, on average, I think, were 30 feet long.

I really, really liked this episode. The whole story was good, there were some great lines ("Why would you tell us a lie that is not true!?") and, near the end, Cera's dad fighting the crocodiles was kind of surprising. I would type more, but I'm a bit busy at the moment.

General Land Before Time / Should the songs be removed?

Sometimes the songs express what can't be said in dialogue, but overall I think they're just there for the kids.

General Land Before Time / Most hated/liked LBT character
« on: January 11, 2008, 09:25:37 PM »
The characters I like and dislike...let's see...

Doc, from LBT 6. Just his attitude was enough to make me like him a lot. The golden Allosaurus from that movie was really awesome too. I like it better then the original sharptooth - its roars, how it threw a log across a ditch, and it also had a sense of invulnerability to it. It's the only other sharptooth I can remember that survived a fall into a canyon.

I liked Rinkus and Sierra from movie 7. Rinkus...went from being stupid, slow, and literal to being near-ruthless and backstabbing. That's why I like him - it was Rinkus, and not Sierra, who originally decided to betrayed Pterano. I was surprised by that. Sierra had the whole attitude thing where he didn't care if anyone got hurt. I liked his voice.

Guido from movie 12 and Loofah and Doofah from movie 13 had very interesting quirks.

As for characters I dislike...I didn't like Ali too much. I found her a bit obnoxious, actually. Right now I can't think of anyone else.

General Land Before Time / Question concerning LBT 13

I think by Sharpteeth Littlefoot's grandpa was referring to T. Rexs. I dunno about anything else, though.

I think so - they have enlongated snouts. I couldn't come up with anything else they could be.

General Land Before Time / Question concerning LBT 13
« on: January 01, 2008, 10:42:20 PM »
I just finished watching LBT 13. It was an okay sequel - I liked Loofah and Doofah, simply because they were so loopy/ditzy, and there were a lot of amusing quotes and...a few surprising things - Cera becoming so ticked off at Loofah and Doofah she wanted to impale Doofah with her horn (that's how I took it anyway) - was kind of unexpected.

I noticed something about the Baryonyx. It had a ring of red around its jaw. I couldn't tell if that was a claw mark or not, but since the red line went under its throat I don't think it was...could someone clarify that for me? Also, isn't this one of the first time we've seen big predators hunting in packs, and ones that helped each other out (the leader dug out the rest of his pack from the rocks)? I was disappointed with their roars, though. They seemed completely uninspired. Not that sound is as important as plot or characters, though.

By the way, I think there should be a topic to answer small questions like this instead of people making new topics each time they want to ask something. It would help keep clutter away from the forum.

EDIT:
I'm kind of hoping the next sequel is a very serious one, to sort of balance out all the light-hearted fun from LBT 13, but I doubt that's gonna happen because as far as the producers are concerned it's all for kids, kids, kids.

LBT and Pokemon:
As it turns out, the "World on the Reverse Side of Ours" mentioned in the Dex entry of the legendary Giratina refers to not only the afterlife, but every past, present, future, alternate world, fandom, and timeline of all media things ever created. We human beings didn't create any of our movies or write any of our books, we didn't make our manga and certainly never thought up our myths and stories. Those already existed, always have. Through some yet-to-be-deciphered mean and on some pandimensional level, everything pulses with what can only be described as 'echos', 'waves' of sporadic information, as if you gave someone a small corner of a photograph and told them to describe what is happening in the complete picture. Over time, someone may get enough waves to get a general idea of what the world the waves came from is like (or, as is more likely, a mishmash of waves from multiple worlds they have to connect together), and it usually comes in the spark of inspiration with a flurry of ideas, but since people think it is their creativity and their own mind that came up with this they copyright their idea as their own.

Now, if you keep all that in mind, let's say one day Giratina took a trip to the World on the Reverse Side of Ours, and it happened to take place in the Land Before Time fandom. Obviously, a 14'09" 1,654 pound winged six-legged centipede-dragon is bound to attract attention. From there, I will leave the reader to figure out one of the things that could happen, because I think I used up all my energy just writing out that first block of text and trying to see if it made any coherent sense.
