1, Back when it was just starting out (which I guess is what fans these days refer to as "Gen 1"), I certainly did. I watched the TV show, played the games that were out at the time (Red, Blue, and Yellow), and read some of the books, though I was never much for the trading card game. I gradually lost interest in the entire franchise as "Gen 2" was underway (which I believe would be around the early 2000s, which would make sense considering that I ultimately became a huge fan of Bionicle around late 2003). Any further glimpses in the franchise I would occasionally see in later years (particularly from my sister) were nothing more than a minor curiosity for me, but more recently, it is seeing just how addicted my parents have become to the mobile game Pokemon Go (often going on a drive through town just for that game and nothing else almost every evening) that has made me conclusively decide that I will never express any interest in that franchise ever again.
