Might as well make a topic for this, seeing that theres a rock band 2 one. In case some of you didn't know, GH:WT also has drums, vocals, lead guitar, bass(maybe sometimes rhythm). So, what so you think will be better then rock band 2? Rock Band 2 may have a lot of songs, but in GH:WT, you'll be able to actually create your own. I personally like the idea of creating your own songs, so im gonna be getting WT. Another reason is that Activition has put a lot of effort into the Wii version (im getting it for the Wii), with DLC and all, plus my friends are getting it, so we can play online. Oh ya, i also like GH's drums better, and since none of my friends are good at drums, i ended up being the person that plays them (when my friends and I play Rock Band).

I've only just got into the GH series. I got GH3 for Wii and I quickly loved it (despite the fact I've never played a real guitar in my life :lol ). I will probably end up getting World Tour on solus seeing as I already have the guitar. I doubt I will fork out for the additional bits of kit simply coz I've not really got anyone else to play with. That and the estimated asking price for GH:WT plus the others bits is just short of £200. No thanks!  :p  :DD

Glad to see another Muse track on there! Not the one I'd personally pick but Assassin is cool enough.

As for the comparison to Rock Bank 2. Seeing as I've never played it myself, I can't really weight up what rules over the other. Although, I've heard somewhere that RB2 is apparently boasting something like a 500 song tracklist! I dunno if that's 500 individual songs or whether it's 500 song strips to play for say 100 songs (eg 5 different note strips, one for vocals, one for lead, one for bass, one for drums...etc). Either way, it looks as though either one will give you just about what you want.

Thats 500 songs that will be available by the end of this year (85 songs come on disc, the rest are DLC)

Also, any song you make, can be uploaded to "GHTunes", where other people can download ant rate your songs. But getting into more detail on the drums, the GH version will 2 cymbals, along with the 3 other pads (snare, hi-hat, stuff like that. i dunno the drum terminology very well) as well as the bass drum (foot petal). To activate star power on drums, i believe you hit both cymbals at the same time. Also, some notes on the "highway" will have armor encasing (thats what ign said anyway). The armored notes are accented and are required to be hit harder on the drums. Doing so will result in more points.

As i stated before, the drums play a large factor for me on decided which to buy, as i always play drums when my friends and I are playing, and GH's drums seem to be better the Rock Band's.

Well, if your getting it for the Wii, then we can do some online band play one day. :smile

I don't want to offend anybody by my opinion, but I honestly am not too excited about this game. Don't get me wrong, I love Guitar Hero a lot! I love playing it every chance I get. However, with the release of all of the instruments for World Tour, it's pretty much now the same thing as Rock Band except for a few new features. Some of the songs are the same for both this and Rock Band 2, and it just doesn't feel as unique as the previous titles. I can understand that the developers might have wanted Guitar Hero to be more multiplayer because it's only two players in GH3, but why add drums and vocals? Now there really is no difference between the gameplay for Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Now every Guitar Hero game might have drums and vocals. What will the point be of playing Rock Band if Guitar Hero does the same thing?

In my opinion, the developers should have made Rock Band 2 and include all of the features it has as well as Guitar Hero World Tour. They should have kept Guitar Hero to a guitar only experience, especially since Guitar Hero Metallica is officially underway.

Well the thing is, is that there are different developers for rock band 2 and guitar hero 4 (harmonix for rock band, activision for guitar hero). Harmonix i guess left after guitar hero 2, so i dunno, i guess this is activisions way of countering harmonix.
