Character Discussion / Re: Tickles!
« on: April 26, 2020, 01:47:34 PM »
@Anagnos Good point. At least the crabs contributed to a story, and considering that the story revolved around them basically being vermin, it would've been impossible to tell that particular story with any type of dinosaurs in their place.

@Gentle Sharptooth Heh, I don't even remember when Spike licks him. :p I just remember then scene when Ducky names him Tickles, plus another scene where he makes Ichy bite Dil's tail.

Is it wrong for me to be okay with the non-dinosaur characters of TLBT? I liked Tickles despite him being there just to be cute. XD Will say why I think the Ichy and Dile duo are interesting... I don't see them as much as a threat as a Sharptooth. If Ichy was working with Sharpteeth, it be pretty horrifying as hiding would be much more difficult. Also my favorite mammals of the franchise? The ones that thought Spike is some kind of deity in the TV show. XD
Worry not, there is no rule that says you aren't allowed to like non-dinosaurs. :OhYou I'm not even saying I ever disliked Tickles, I just barely took note of him... :lol Anyway, I think I recall him being in there for more than just being cute. Didn't he help the Gang find their way through the Land of Mists? (Correct me if I'm wrong, that particular LBT movie isn't one of the ones I've watched more recently.)

I will admit that the three underground mammals are among my very least favorite characters in LBT. The stupid thing, though, is that I don't even have a real reason why. :p I just never cared for them or the episode in general. (Actually...heh, I did have one reason, now that I mention it, it was just quite a silly reason. But I'll get into that when @Gentle Sharptooth and I start reviewing the TV series.)

General Land Before Time / Re: Does Cera seem...angrier after LBT 4?
« on: April 26, 2020, 01:03:02 PM »
I noticed Cera's personality worsening, too. Cera knew how to be happy at times in the earlier sequels, but she regrettably lost that ability later on. x(cera She used to be more cheeky as opposed to the downright grouchy attitude she has now.

She seems to be in perpetual grouch auto pilot in later sequels. I wish they would explore more of the complexities of Cera’s personality, but instead she like Spike seem stuck in a generic autopilot.
Agreed, I would like to see another side of Cera. :cerahappy It would be interesting to see her get her own movie of sorts, like Ducky and Spike did with LBT VIII and Petrie did with LBT XII.

General Land Before Time / Re: LBT Marathon
« on: April 25, 2020, 10:50:35 PM »
I've seen most of the LBT movies pretty recently, but I've been considering a TV series marathon. The only thing stopping me is that there are certain episodes I could probably go without watching ever again, haha. :p Guess I should probably give them another chance, though...it's been years since I saw them.

I wonder if the episodes that were lackluster woukd be better in a binge watch? I’ve noticed a series is vastly different in feel if yoy have to wait and watch each episode oppose to watching em all back to back. :)

Hmm, that's a pretty good point. I usually have to readjust to the feel of a TV show after being away from it for a while. I suppose I'll have to give a binge-watch a shot sometime! It isn't like the series is that long, anyway.

Let me know when you intend to binge watch, because I plan to binge watch the series, and would love to discuss the episodes.

Cool, I'll let you know when I get started! :smile Maybe we can make a thread in the TV series section and write our reviews?

General Land Before Time / Re: Worst movie 7 song?

I'd agree with everyone that "Good Inside" was the worst: not because it was bad, but just because the other two songs blew me away! :wow

I've always been so baffled by this album. :olittlefoot As others have mentioned, the song choices couldn't be more random. "Stupid Stompers" in particular is almost unquestionably one of the worst songs in the whole LBT series! I've wondered if it was originally supposed to be in the XI movie itself rather than just the end credits, and it got cut for a reason. It's just...stupid. Plus, there are times the characters sound downright off-key in it.

General Land Before Time / Re: Celebrity Voice Actors
« on: April 25, 2020, 10:25:26 PM »
Though all of the celebrity guest stars in LBT have done a great job, Michael York probably gets the most points from me. Pterano couldn't have been half as memorable without his dramatic voice! :DD

I will say, though, that I have mixed feelings on celebs appearing in LBT due to how it impairs the series's ability to bring characters back...or at least to bring them back with their original voices. Case in point: Mr. Thicknose. :rolleyes

General Land Before Time / Re: LBT Dreams?
« on: April 25, 2020, 10:21:26 PM »
I had Land Before Time dreams before in the past, but I could never recall them when I awoke.

Last night I distinctively remember Littlefoot in my dream, but I could not remember any context whatsoever.
This kind of thing is what usually happens to me. I actually had a dream the other night that involved the GoF forum in some way, but other than that I can remember none of it. :olittlefoot

LBT Fanfiction / Re: Herd Animals and Pack Hunters
« on: April 25, 2020, 08:26:05 PM »
Poor Chase.  It is never easy being the weakest physically in a group or to be the subject of bullying, but it is even worse when you are in a situation where you must either eventually become the hunter or be hunted.  It is quite understandable why he would seek out companionship among flat-teeth under such circumstances, though the obviously has done little to improve his lot with the pack.  Though now with his thoughts turning towards freedom, I can only assume what he is going to do next.

This is quite a nice start that gives us a good overview of Chase as a character and his life situation at the moment.  I look forward to seeing what happens next. :)

Thank you for the feedback @rhombus ! :)petrie Heh, I'm really glad you left a post here, because I got so caught up with other things recently I forgot to keep working on this. Oops-eeps! :oops I'll have to finally update this. :smile

@Enchanted-Valley96 On your turn, you're supposed to type a sentence that doesn't have your letter in it.

Wild Arms tried to stifle a laugh. "Wow, guys, he's cracked."

Guido was downright dumbfounded. "Ah...okay," he muttered, taking a step back from Hyp. "I think...I'm just gonna go someplace else now." Turning away, he began to walk off. If Hyp was losing it, he didn't want to stick around to see what happened next!

"We're telling the truth!" Cera insisted, stomping her foot. "Oh, forget it! You goofballs can never take anything seriously, anyway! Come on, Hyp, let's tell the grown-ups!"

@Goldenwind I've never seen that live-action The Cat in the Hat (thankfully), but it looks like it must have been the 2000s counterpart to the infamous new Cats movie. (Filmmakers, the moral of this story is that movies about creepy CGI cats are destined to fail.) :p Also, I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one who was let down by one of their "childhood classic" movies.

^What he just said. :DD You guys are sweet!
@Anagnos he might not be as LBT-crazy as I am, but I made it literally impossible for him to grow up without an appreciation of Land Before Time. ;)Cera And only time will tell how active he ends up being here--online, he's a man of few words compared to how I'll practically write a book in every other post. :lol (Which is hilarious, because the way we usually behave in person is opposite that!) Rest assured I'll be pushing him to stick around, though...you just opened some can of worms, @Little Bro !!
