Title: LBT Series Marathon
Post by: Gentle Sharptooth on April 27, 2020, 03:59:44 PM
Just watched “Cave of Many Voices”

Chomper’s tantrum to stop the water in cave and making it worse was hysterical!

Chomper “you leaf eaters sure take a long time to eat.” I am like Chomper, I eat fast and have to wait on friends and family.

Ducky’s arch of wanting to be big and listened to like Ruby is a great arch.

Saurus Rock cameo! “Big like saurus rock!” Ducky. LBT V: The Secret of Saurus Rock is one of my all time favorite LBT films. I love that they paid homage to it in the first episode.

Ducky trying to suppress her “no no no, yes yes yes, and yep yep yep,” and talk big is hilarious.

Chompers giddiness over new cave, “look it has no stone teeth.”

Continuity issue, Chomper doesn’t recognize Sharpteeth talk when in V he knew his parent’s roars from the plated sharptooth, “that’s not my daddy or mommy.”

Petrie: And fast biters! (Petrie’s face and eyes, got to get a pic)

Spike uses vine to make large rocks hit Redclaw in head, is Spike a savior?  Spike is really smart, he suggests sealing the cave opening with rock. This is a nice departure from Spike being only fodder and feeder.

The Cave and catacombs is great for tension with Screech and Thud and Redclaw popping up everywhere in a maze of caves. Its reminiscent of Sharptooth in the cave at climax of LBT ORIGINAL.

“Hold them off? Like an appetizer?” -Cera. Cera always has the best wise cracks.

Jurassic Park reference, “Redclaw can’t see us if you are still.” (Chomper). Alan Grant, “don’t move! He (T-Rex) can’t see us if we don’t move.”

Chomper speaks Sharpteeth at last. Redclaw’s perplexed face. Loved it.

Ducky’s powerful Yep Yep Yep Battlecry, it was epic and made her sound like an adult!

Overall a strong episode, well paced, great wise cracks and cultural puns, and best of all a good blend of levity and tension. It never dragged or got too ridiculous. This episode was better than LBT III, XI, XII, and XIII IMHO.

I am happy to hear you enjoyed the first episode @Gentle Sharptooth ! :duckyhappy It was a strong start for the show. Though I will say the explanation for Chomper being in the valley was somewhat sudden and easy to miss. XD Also Chomper was at his most awesome when throwing that tantrum. XD He should totally think about trying those moves on fast biters.

Ducky was enjoyable this episode. X) I keep imagining her "Yep! Yep! YEEEEP!" As a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure stand battle cry.  :bestsharptooth

I was suprised to see that reference to Saurus Rock. Happy to see a landmark get recognition!  :)petrie

Also I never noticed the Chomper continuity issue before.  :olittlefoot Though I will say this won't be the last language continuity error when it comes to Chomper.

Any episode with Spike being awesome is a plus in my book.  :SmugSpike

Never saw that line as a reference to Jurassic Park, nice! X)

Thanks for starting this thread, Gentle Sharptooth! To everyone who hadn't heard about this already, Sharptooth and I are rewatching all the TV series episodes and reviewing them here! Here's my response to the episode and to Sharptooth's take on it:

Chomper’s tantrum to stop the water in cave and making it worse was hysterical!

Chomper's tantrum at the start of the episode always made me laugh when I was a kid. I wonder now if that scene is a bit OOC, but I suppose a while has passed since the Gang encountered Chomper on the Mysterious Island. His characterization has gotten more excitable in general going into the TV show, and with that sort of impulsive/overexcited personality being believable for a little kid, I don't object to it.

Chomper “you leaf eaters sure take a long time to eat.” I am like Chomper, I eat fast and have to wait on friends and family.

Actually, Chomper said, "You flatteeth take a long time to eat," which I thought was interesting. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time the term "flatteeth" was used in LBT, and I believe that the other times it appeared in the show also had Chomper being the one to use it. This implies that "flatteeth" is the sharptooth word for "leaf-eaters," a detail I hadn't thought of until very recently, but quite a clever one. It makes sense that sharpteeth would have their own term for species of the opposite diet, and I like that it parallels the leaf-eaters' use of "sharpteeth."

Ducky’s arch of wanting to be big and listened to like Ruby is a great arch.

I thought Ducky had a nice arc in this episode, too. It makes sense, considering that her size has left her basically powerless in many of the other films (though Petrie is small, too, but at least he has wings). Perhaps more often than anyone else in the Gang, Ducky has to count on her friends to rescue her from danger.

Saurus Rock cameo! “Big like saurus rock!” Ducky. LBT V: The Secret of Saurus Rock is one of my all time favorite LBT films. I love that they paid homage to it in the first episode.
I love it when references to previous movies show up in the series, too. :)littlefoot

Chompers giddiness over new cave, “look it has no stone teeth.”
Yeah, Chomper was hopping back and forth, he was so excited. Cutest little sharptooth ever! :chompysmile

Ducky trying to suppress her “no no no, yes yes yes, and yep yep yep,” and talk big is hilarious.

There's just no hiding her Ducky-ness, and it's adorable. :lol

Continuity issue, Chomper doesn’t recognize Sharpteeth talk when in V he knew his parent’s roars from the plated sharptooth, “that’s not my daddy or mommy.”

Hmm, which scene in the episode had this continuity issue? I must've overlooked it.

Petrie: And fast biters! (Petrie’s face and eyes, got to get a pic)

Petrie totally has the best faces! :lol

Spike uses vine to make large rocks hit Redclaw in head, is Spike a savior?  Spike is really smart, he suggests sealing the cave opening with rock. This is a nice departure from Spike being only fodder and feeder.

I noticed how well they used Spike here, too! Much too often in the LBT movies, it seems that his only contribution to the plot is causing the Gang's plans to go awry. It's great to see him actually helping out!

The Cave and catacombs is great for tension with Screech and Thud and Redclaw popping up everywhere in a maze of caves. Its reminiscent of Sharptooth in the cave at climax of LBT ORIGINAL.

I agree, the fast biter chase scene was fun and done pretty well.

“Hold them off? Like an appetizer?” -Cera. Cera always has the best wise cracks.

I pretty much learned sarcasm from Cera when I was younger. :lol
Jurassic Park reference, “Redclaw can’t see us if you are still.” (Chomper). Alan Grant, “don’t move! He (T-Rex) can’t see us if we don’t move.”

Oh my gosh, that is exactly like Jurassic Park!

Chomper speaks Sharpteeth at last. Redclaw’s perplexed face. Loved it.

I love that Chomper's bilingual abilities weren't forgotten in the TV show. :chompysmile Plus, his roaring is always adorable. :lol

Ducky’s powerful Yep Yep Yep Battlecry, it was epic and made her sound like an adult!

Ducky unleashing her "big voice" was awesome! I thought it was believable, too, that such a loud sound would cause the sharpteeth to run away. Even relatively large and fierce wild animals can be frightened by noise.

Although, while we're still talking about the sharpteeth, the one thing I thought was pretty weak about them in this episode was how all the kids literally ran right past their legs at one point without being detected. There's no way the sharpteeth shouldn't have noticed them when they were that close, at least not if you ask me. Couldn't they have done the same scene with the sharpteeth a few yards away, instead?

Overall a strong episode, well paced, great wise cracks and cultural puns, and best of all a good blend of levity and tension. It never dragged or got too ridiculous. This episode was better than LBT III, XI, XII, and XIII IMHO.

Yep, yep, yep--this episode was a very good intro to the TV series and a good addition to LBT in general! (Though I won't go as far as saying it tops XII, as I'm a Guido fan, heh heh! But I probably agree on those other three.) There wasn't anything in there that felt too much like filler. Even the obligatory songs at least moved the story forward. I admit I would prefer far less songs than the amount the TV series felt like they had to shove in every episode, but that Chomper version of "Adventuring" wasn't bad.

Now here's something we haven't talked about yet: Ruby. I thought this episode did a great job introducing her. Her interactions with Chomper and Ducky showed her to be level-headed (staying calm about the flooding in the cave), caring (helping Ducky "talk big"), confident (confronting the domeheads who stole the food), and a bit quirky ("be the tree!"). Definitely a distinct character from the rest of the group, and a good one, too. How did you feel about her?

Chomper failed to use his Sharpenese when they heard Redclaw and Company; and Littlefoot says, “we’ll we better go see who it is.”

Ruby had a solid episode, pairing her with Ducky was good writing.

Chomper is a little OCD in this series, oppose to his calm demeanor in LBT V.

I didn’t mind the Sharpteeth being outwitted, I found it plausible that Ducky making her noise in the Caves of Voices distracted them. Plus ai like hiw Ducky took initiative and ran to cave to help the Gang escape.

@Goldenwind Thanks! I am loving the series. I feel I’ve missed a major part of LBT lore. :)

But Chomper might not be able to recognize the "voices" of most sharpteeth as easily as he can recognize his own parents' voices, so I wouldn't call that an inconsistency. When it comes to identifying voices, I imagine anyone would be able to identify their family faster than they'd identify someone else.

Although Chomper's personality is a bit different, it has been a while since we saw him last, so I just chalk that up to the fact that people change over time.
Yeah, I can overlook the distracted sharpteeth because we had a good Ducky-power moment there. :duckyhappy It was just something I couldn't help noticing.
Wait @Gentle Sharptooth are you saying you've never seen the whole TV show? :rhett_shocked

@Goldenwind Yeah, I'd kind of forgotten that brief explanation for Chomper and Ruby in the valley. I picked up something interesting on this rewatch, though: Ruby said something along the lines of "I'm glad your folks let us stay in the Secret Caverns, especially with Red Claw and his fast biters terrorizing the Mysterious Beyond." The word that jumped out at me was let. It's like some dinosaurs hadn't wanted to let Chomper and Ruby into the valley at all, with them being outsiders, but they eventually reached a compromise that had them staying in the caverns of the Great Wall, living not in the Mysterious Beyond but not necessarily in the valley, either. This would also explain why they have to find a cave to sleep in as opposed to sleeping in the open valley like everyone else.

Aye, I’ve never seen the whole TV show. Just three episodes.

I surmise Mr. Threehorn objected to Ruby and Chomper living in the Valley.

“The Mysterious Tooth Crisis”

Tria: Cera, always to the point.
Nice Pun.

Petrie: If its secret how will we know about it?
lol great philosophy if you tell a secret it aint secret anymore.

Love how Littlefoot, and Chomper gets out of mud adventure, Ducky caved to peer pressure XD

Ruby is captain obvious, “the sooner we go the sooner we are on our way.”

Mo would be proud of Mud Brother Spike.

Chomper, “My tooth! My tooth! My tooth!” Went Ducky on us.

Chomper loves his tail.

Mr Threehorn, “By nightfall you’ll be nothing but a pile of bones.” Jerkasaurus comfirmed.

Chomper saves Ducky from falling, Chosen One confirmed.

Movie reference, Chomper reaching for his tooth is like Indy trying to reach Holy Grail in “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.”

Cera is a Mud Sister. Mo approved.

Littlefoot’s tail is a life line. Saves Chomper twice, once on the cliff and a second time in the swamp sinking water.

I was touched by Petrie staying with discouraged Chomper. My two favorite characters together.

“Not hurt?! I’m falling apart! Have you ever heard of a sharptooth with a mossing tooth?!” (Chomper)

Overall, not as good as “The Cave of Voices.” I liked that we saw more of the Great Valley and its perils, but this episode felt too relaxed for my taste. It was good, but not great. My favorite parts were when Chomper was with Petrie, Littlefoot and Ducky. The Mud side story was not to my taste. In conclusion, not a terrible episode but it lacked the balance of tension and levity of “The Cave of Voices.”

That's pretty interesting!  :olittlefoot Although I still would have liked a episode where we see Chomper and Ruby's arrival to the Great Valley. ^^'

@Gentle Sharptooth I liked the episode, but I agree it was only just good. I agree with the two stories clashing. Nothing really happens, Cera doesn't want to be in the mud, and then she likes it. :rolleye Also didn't like how Mr. Threehorn had no repercussions for teasing Chomper. I believe Mr. Threehorn would have never expected for the kids to be put in danger. However, Ducky and Chomper nearly fell off a mountain with Chomper barely avoiding drowning in the episode's climax. If Tria and Cera found out, they be ramming Mr. Threehorn all the way to Threehorn peak! (Okay, a massive exaggeration, but still) x(cera

Will say I found Mr. Thicknose's song as they try to put back Chomper's tooth to be hilarious. Especially the part where they sing how they were unable to fix Chomper's tooth. This episode resulted in these screenshot gems. :bestsharptooth

And now for Episode 2: "The Mysterious Tooth Crisis." :OhYou

Now, I'll admit it: I'm gonna be kind of biased in my review of this episode. It was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, one of my handful of much-watched LBT episodes. There were a few reasons why that was--and @Goldenwind actually pointed out one of them, which is the fact that this episode contains an endless amount of silly-looking moments that just got laughs out of me. :p Plus, I just tended to like episodes that focused on Chomper. As for that final reason...

Ah, yes, Tria's "surprise" for Cera at the beginning of the episode. I know the side plot about the spa--I mean, the mud pool--really has nothing to do with the main plot of this episode other than the fact that it removed Ruby from the picture up until the end, but I found it kind of fun for a personal reason...I really relate to Cera in this episode. Even as a kid watching this episode for the first time, I knew that I was Cera in it. I'm that person who often has to be dragged into new things, but chances are I enjoy them in the end--even if, like Cera, I'm a little too stubborn to flat-out admit that ("Well...it's better than usual mud..."). So, yeah, I guess that plot just offered me a bit of self-awareness, not to mention some assurance that, y'know, it was okay to like things that I didn't want to like at first. Plus, Cera resting in the mud with a tree star over her head cracks me up. :lol

Chomper's initial reaction to losing his tooth always amused me. ("BUT MY TEETH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN MY MOUTH!!!!!!")
I agree, though, that Mr. Threehorn STANK in this episode. x(cera WHY would he do that to Chomper?? It wasn't even really in character--Mr. Threehorn might be a grouch, but since when does he just go around picking on already-freaked-out kids just for the sake of it?? If the writers needed a bully character, why didn't they just use Hyp and his pals?

Then there's Mr. Thicknose. Um, since when is he a baritone? His TV show voice still weirds me out after all these years. That song still tickles my funny bone, though! Why is Chomper shoving tree sap, pollen, and mud up his gums so funny, anyway? Probably because it's just as silly and absurd as it sounds. :lol

Then there's that Looking Rock scene. (And then I realized that my childhood love of this episode was showing through in the "Yellowbellies Rule!" RP, because I stuck both the Looking Rock and the mud pools in there.) :p I really love Petrie's moment of bravery here--go, Petrie! :DD

I soon found myself being annoyed at Petrie, however, because as Chomper is in the sinking sand refusing to let go of his tooth, why in the wide, wide world doesn't Petrie just swoop down and TAKE THE TOOTH FROM HIM?? Seriously, no one thought of this?? :rolleyes

Then they get to the mud pools, where Cera delivers one of my favorite TV series moments of all time:

*blink*  "WHAT?? You interrupted my relaxing day for a TOOTH?? A TOOTH?!?!?!"

I always got a kick out of that! :lol :lol :lol

Ruby comforts Chomper in a sweet, big-sister-ish way, and that pretty much wraps things up. Oh, wait, then there's a few funny moments where Chomper insists on shoving his teeth in the other characters' faces. :lol
Yeah, story-wise, I admit this wasn't the greatest episode. Personally, though, I just enjoy the sillier, lighter tone of it. :chompysmile But yeah, like I said, I'm biased.

@Goldenwind Mr. Thocknose’s song was cutsy and fun. I did however have to adjust to his viice, I am use to boice actor from “The Big Freeze.” Great pics by the way. :lol

@RainbowFaceProtege In Petrie’s defense, when he flew to save the tooth from Lookimg Rock (I love that place), he had a straight shot, minus sky puffy. In the samp sinking sand if Petrie tried to get Chomper’s tooth he could have missed and gotten stuck too. Chomper was panicking and flailing his hands, there was 80% probability Petrie could miss. Also Petrie likely remembered the sinking sand in LBTII and how it took the grown ups to save the Gang.

Episode 3 “The Star Day Celebration”

Hopper reference! Hoppers is when Littlefoot and Cera meet Sharptooth in the first LBT movie.

I love this opens at night and there is moonlight!

Littlefoot looks green at night, Shorty pun! XD

Cera as the shadow monster with tree limb pays homage to Littlefoot and company disguised in oil as a monster that scares the domeheads away in the first LBT movie.

Ruby: Just saying how much I love you dosnt show you how much I love you. So true. Expressing our love is hard at times.

Ruby’s parents reveal why Ruby and Chomper must be near the Great Valley, to learn from Gang how to work together and save everyone from Redclaw.
Movie, Mission Chompable, as Ruby and Chomper scale a mountain you hear a theme close to the “Mission Impossible” tune, this happens after they flee Redclaw and get separated from Ruby's parents.

What happened to Ruby’s parents? I am so hooked on this arch.

Saurus Rock Again! This time Chomper says it! So happy!

Cera takes initiative and stops Chomper from trying to cheer Ruby up, letting her have space. Go Cera!

Giving Ceremony, “When you give somebody their favorite food.” (Cera). This should be GOF discord’s food channel name.

Chomper: it doesn’t matter where they grow, of it will make Ruby happy we will go anywhere to find them! Right?! How about the Land of Mists? :D

Remembering made me cry!

Rainbowfaces sighting, shooting star.  :rainbowwave

Ruby has siblings! I hope we see more of them.

Petrie’s vine skills are awesome, “getting dizzy!”  :)petrie

Cera’s branch saves Spike, wait to go Cera! At last she is a savior.  ;)Cera

So grapes are sweet bubbles, are they gonna make some bubbly? :D

Chomper: I’m a sharptooth, I can scare him away!  :chompysmile

Two earth-shakes in one episode! Petrie says “this is a big one,” made me laugh, thinking of San Andreas in Cali.

Ducky Ruby Hug!  :duckyhappy :thinking

Chomper Ruby Hug!  :thinking :chompysmile

Overall I loved this episode. It gave an explanation for why Ruby and Chomper are in The Great Valley. I enjoyed the night scenes and starry skies, something lacking in the last two episodes. I would say this is my favorite episode thusfar.
Title: Re: LBT Series Marathon

Here we go: "The Star Day Celebration." :thinking
Okay, Spike as a frog is cute. Did I ever mention I love frogs? :SmugSpike

Cera hopping all over the place and growling with that log on her head was kind of hilarious. The way they had her shadow flailing around right before cutting to the theme song was so weird-looking! :lol Then cut back to the show, and suddenly Cera's calmed down enough to use English. :p

I love how beautiful the sky looks when Ruby is showing the others her star! @Gentle Sharptooth The nighttime scenes really did have a great atmosphere here!
We actually got a flashback to Chomper and Ruby leaving the Mysterious Beyond, which is really cool! :chompysmile Though I still wish we'd have found out how they actually became friends. Like, when did Chomper leave the island?

Yep, there's Saurus Rock again! Though, just for the sake of a bigger variety of callbacks, it would've been cool if maybe Threehorn Peak showed up...

Guess we'll never know what on Earth Chomper was miming right before Ruby left. Seriously, what was that? :p

Every flashback Ruby has to her family is really sweet, and it's nice that this episode gave her some development with that. "Remembering" is quite a nice song compared to most in the TV series, too.

Rainbowfaces sighting, shooting star.  :rainbowwave
Yay!!  :Mo

It is kind of unfortunate that Mr. Clubtail/Kosh was pretty annoying in this episode. That scene where he burps in Cera's face is really obnoxious. What happened to, "Morning, kids. Nice day for a tree star?" :rolleyes

Moving on, though, the ending where Ruby gets rescued/cheered up by the others is very sweet. This episode was a great friendship story. I felt like Chomper's relationship with Ruby especially shined here, he's like a little brother to her! :OhYou As for my favorite episode so far...I don't know if I have one yet. Sorry, but I've enjoyed them all! I like the TV show more than I'd remembered! :smile

Now for "The Canyon of Shiny Stones."

The episode starts out with...DAAAWWWW TRICIA!! :wub <3

I admit, when I was younger, instead of counting, "one thousand, two thousand," I used Ruby's "one tree star, two tree stars." :TreeStar

OH MY GOSH--Littlefoot just ATE CHOMPER!!!! :lol (Kidding.)

The infamous "Oops-Eeps" song! I gotta say, it never struck me as being any worse than some of the other songs from the TV show. I think the phrase "oops-eeps" fits right into Ducky's lexicon. Also, Petrie's dance is pretty funny.

Um, Petrie's faint...has he been taking drama lessons from Pterano? Seriously, though, now I'm recalling that this episode was about Petrie almost as much as Cera.
Oh yeah, this was the episode where the Gang fell victim to some weird CGI animation. It happens at least three times. :areyouserious

Haha: "It...It booms???!" Just something about how he said that... :lol

The Canyon of the Shiny Stones is so pretty! I wouldn't mind going there! Oh, wait, with all that lava involved...meh, actually, I would mind. The volcanic eruptions in this episode were cool, though. We haven't had a volcano scene this intense since Threehorn Peak!

Ah, as usual, the Great Valley parents are oblivious to their children. Until...

Petrie: "MOMMMYYYY!!!" Haha, the look on his face! :lol :lol :lol

Now, I always thought it was pretty sad that the Canyon of Shiny Stones got buried in lava, but you know what's even sadder? Having to watch Cera drop Tria's new stone in the lava, meaning the Gang just ran around a dangerous volcano for no reason.
Wait, now that I think of it, why didn't Cera just ask Ducky to help her get that first stone out of the water to begin with? :sducky That's kind of a glaring plot hole. It was just a creek that this thing fell into, not a whirlpool, and it looked like it just fell straight to the bottom.

You know, I'm not even sure what it is about this episode, but it's easily my least favorite of the ones we've seen up to this point. Getting that stone never seemed even close to being important enough to be worth the trouble the Gang went to. As for Petrie's side of the plot, I guess it just didn't interest me much, either. It was okay, but not particularly interesting, just the same kind of Petrie panic we've seen before.

Episode 4 “The Canyon of Shiny Stones•

Chomper being unable to pick a hiding place lol That’s happened to me during hide and seek.

Oopsiez song makes me think of Goldenwind’s Oopsie RP idea!

Petrie getting into the jazz was hilarious!

Petrie: Me not like smokey mountain, it bad place! Smokey mountain is a place in Tennessee.

Petrie: Me made the mountain mad! Alliteration!

Grandpa Longneck Ride! :wise

Overall a great episode. I loved the premise that Cera was trying to get a diamond to replace the one she lost for Tria. Cera tries to make amends and gives a wholehearted sorry, she is really growing in this series. Petrie’s fear that he made the smokey mountain angry was hilarious. I loved the music, parts of music during lava scenes sounded like the lava levels in Yoshi’s Story and Bowser’s Castle (N64). All in all a great episode.

Petrie: Me made the mountain mad! Alliteration!

Say it five times fast! :lol

I loved the premise that Cera was trying to get a diamond to replace the one she lost for Tria. Cera tries to make amends and gives a wholehearted sorry, she is really growing in this series.
You have a good point here that I didn't think of initially! Cera did show her more caring side in this episode, which is great! :cerahappy It shows how much closer she's become to Tria, too.

But now for "The Great Log Running Game."

Nice to see a sweet moment between Topps and Tria.

More Tricia cuteness! :wub

Okay, wait a minute: this tune they use in the "Do Anything" song is the same tune that was in "The Cave of Many Voices" and "The Mysterious Tooth Crisis." Already, I'm getting tired of it, and there's much more of it to come. The music has always been my biggest gripe about the TV show, because it gets annoying that they constantly recycle songs. Plus, the music has a totally different feel than the music from the films. I wish they would've gotten Tavera back for this.

You know, log running is probably easy for Ducky to be comfortable with when she at least knows how to swim if she falls in the water...

Wow, they actually remembered that Petrie can fly for once (tends to be one of the most common plot holes in LBT).

Just watching Cera try to mount that log is frustrating. More frustrating, too, is the fact that she just got injured over something dumb her dad said.

Thank goodness Tria's around to bring a voice of reason to the threehorn family.

And then Mr. Threehorn realizes he might have spoken a bit too hastily about that "doing anything" stuff before, so now he proceeds to dash his daughter's log-running hopes and dreams.

Saplings in the Great Valley are really fragile, because Cera barely had to touch those to make them break. :p

Petrie log-running: a couple of seconds, and then, "Me done." :lol

Well, that was a pretty sudden current of water that pushed Cera downstream.
"Fast Water Log Runners to the rescue!" Yep, Chomper, the log runner squad there was pretty cool. :chompysmile

Tria to Topps: "I know, you're going to be very upset."
Um, my response to that is a quote from that random spiketail in LBT VII: "Upset?? That's putting it mildly!"

I like how Littlefoot and Spike have to help Mr. Threehorn move that rock, and he actually didn't hesitate to let them. :yes

The way Chomper, Ruby, and Ducky whooshed back towards the land after grabbing Cera was totally implausible...yet really cool. :lol

In the end, though, it turns out this episode is my new least favorite one so far. It moved significantly slower than any of the others did, and Mr. Threehorn, though not as bad as in "The Mysterious Tooth Crisis," got kind of irritating.

Episode 5: The Great Log-Running Game

Topsy: Go Green! :D Fruit Face!

Mr Threehorn: Threehorns can do anything they set their minds to and be the best at it! Confidence lol

Dinosaur Land game was invented over this epusode.

“We Threehorns sre proud, we are beat around. So himble Topsy!

Woah, Palm-tree pin ball!

Toops I like to rock and roll, destroys rock.

Ducky invented the treadmill and hamstee wheel.

Four teams:

Green Team (Ducky)
Pink Team (Ruby)
Purple Team (Chomper)
Brown Team (Petrie)

My treestars are on Ducky, Petrie should be disqualified because he can uses his wings as an advantage to stay steady on the log.

Spike helping Cera’s sprained ankles.

Spike is powerful!

Chomper: Fast Water Log Runners to the rescue!

Topps: Move over trees! Bam! Bam!

Overall a good episode. It wasn’t riveting, but I enjoyed it. I am noticing many of the episodes so far are Ceracentric and I like that. Mr. Threehorn was in his total ego maniac mode for most of the episode. I admire Cera’s zeal to try and participate in log run but it was folly in the long run. I was disappointed we didn’t get to see the real competition between Ducky, Ruby, Chomper, and Petrie. I still say Ducky won because she stayed on the log earlier when Cera interrupted.

Epusode 6: The Great Longneck Scheme

Ali! She’s one of my fav guest characters.

Rhett..

Ali: Rhett is very brave but he doesn’t play with kids he doesn’t know. That logic you woykd never have friends lol

Littlefoot: That doesn’t sound very brave.

I suspect CNN (Cameransaurus News Network) propaganda, Rhett uses the same two Sharpteeth in his stories.

Rhett is the first lumberjack lol

Woah Ali.. you are decieved.. “You're just jealous because you can’t knock down trees with your tail.” Cult de Rhett. How Ali believed such tall tales is something inconsistent with her LBT IV self, but I’ll let it slide.

Cera and Littlefoot both mad, “I can feel your anger, it gives you focus and makes you stronger.” (Palpatine, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith).

The gang rehearsing their trck on Rhett with Chomper is like a bad Shakespeare re-enactment play, Petrie: Ahh he is hungry (said so forced you can’t help but crack up)

Chomper being chased by grown up longnecks, this was a riveting reversal, a sharptooth in fear of his life at the hands of leaf eaters; Chomper now knows how leaf eaters feel when at the mercy of Sharpteeth.

Awesome how Longnecks react to Chomper being able to speak leaf eater. I love the Old One’s words, “And you (Chomper) I don’t know how yoy made so many friends here, but I think its good.” The Old One sees a glimpse of the future when Leaf Eaters and Sharpteeth can live in harmony.

Overall, this epusode was great. I finally got to see the infamous Rhett and honestly I don’t get the ire towards him from fans. Yes he bossed Ali around but if yoy remeber Ali marginalized Littlefoot in a similar way by not wanting to play with the rest of the Gang. In the end Rhett confessed his lies and I think he deserves a pardon, he’s just a kid and boasting is common among the insecure.

Ooh, it's the infamous "Brave Longneck Scheme." :rhett_shocked

Well, since the last time the Gang saw Ali, she turned bright purple and developed a hoarse throat. :p

Ah, there's Rhett! Sure enough, he's your typical jerk/fibber at the start of this, but Ali here already rubs me the wrong way more than Rhett does. Way to backtrack in character development--now she's snubbing the Gang all over again, yelling at Littlefoot, "You're just jealous because you can't knock down trees with YOUR tail!" :rolleyes

But it was clear that Rhett was already doubting that all his fibbing was okay, because he quickly started backpedaling: "That mountain of rocks was, uh, um, mostly built...but I did finish the top."
OOC Ali's actually the one who really shoves the fibs in Littlefoot and Cera's faces: "SEE?? He finished the top!" :rolleye

Aaaand it's that same tune from the log-running episode, already. Littlefoot trying to look like a sharptooth is pretty amusing, though. :lol

Chomper: "I'd like to see what Rhett would do if a REAL sharptooth came around!" Haha, the fact that everyone but Cera has forgotten that Chomper is a sharptooth--even Chomper--is hilarious!

Aww, look at the little guy's face after Cera says the sharptooth is "right here!" Cuuuute widdle sharptoof! :wub

I like how even when Cera imagines this prank, Chomper isn't able to get any fiercer than just literally saying, "Grr." :lol

There's some shamefully obvious recycled animation when they flash through shots of all the Gang before "Friends for Dinner" begins. Hmm, this version of "Friends for Dinner" sounds like it's been mixed with the "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" song from Lilo & Stitch...just not half as good. :p

Okay, the scene where the Gang rehearses their prank gets me every time. The first try where they're all giggling and goofy and making funny faces is hilarious! (Not to mention personally relatable for me. Did anyone else try to direct videos featuring a younger sibling when they were growing up?) The best part here is how Chomper is so confused at everyone laughing at first, but then it ends up being contagious, so he giggles anyway. :lol And @Gentle Sharptooth --Petrie, IKR! :lol

Hard to say if Ali yelling in Petrie's voice looks hilarious or terrifying. :lol

Gotta give it to Chomper, he turned out being a really good actor after all!
Hey, there are the Rhett faces that inspired some emojis. :rhett_ohno :rhett_ohsnap

Ali meeting with Chomper was actually very in-character. She was hesitant at first, but she didn't take off, and she came around pretty quickly. Nicely done! :yes
Oh, no--run, Chomper, RUN!!! :opetrie
I also loved that line from the Old One to Chomper @Gentle Sharptooth mentioned. :chompysmile

Rhett was pretty ashamed at the ending. He'd learned his lesson, and, he was so grateful that Littlefoot and co. gave him another chance: "Aw, you guys are the BEST!" I think he could have been a pretty good character, had we gotten to see more of him after this turnaround! I'm with @Gentle Sharptooth , Rhett doesn't deserve so much hate.
I know some others disagree, but I thought this episode was quite good! :rhett_smile The one thing I don't care for is how Ali acts in the beginning, but that's what, a minute or two of screen time? Not worth getting agitated over IMHO. I can't lie, I really enjoyed this episode the first time I saw it, and it turns out I still do!

I enjoyed the Brave Longneck Scheme as well despite how Ali acted (Honestly didn't mind it, probably because I saw the episode before movie 4  :bestsharptooth). I thought the gang was clever in using Chomper to expose Rhett's lies, although there should have been some thought put into it, in the case any leafeaters weary of Chomper got involved (Spoilers, they do). Though I thought the longneck chase was intense as basically Chomper is running from a whole herd! A clumsy herd, but still. XD It might be the only time in the series where there is a reverse sharptooth chase.  :olittlefoot  I also found how they were trying to rehearse their plan to be adorbs. Especially Chomper, he is definitely the kindest sharptooth.  :chompysmile And the line the old one had to Chomper hit a cord with me as I would also like to see leafeaters and sharpteeth unite, one way or another.  :^^spike Little things like that makes me wish the show went on longer. As for the Rhett hate, I don't get it, but this is coming from the guy who likes the silliness of yellowbellies.  :PCera

Time to give "The Meadow of Jumping Waters" a watch!

Cloud watching! I always loved doing this. I tend to find shapes even when I'm not really looking.

Spike lying on his side with a red-rimmed mouth looked really ominous, I've gotta say. :sducky

Petrie's tickly tree star fit was kinda funny, and it was amusing that Pterano was the one who passed this whole "friend of a friend" rumor about bad luck to Petrie. Guess he underestimated how jumpy his nephew could be. :p
This brings me to something I think was an issue across the whole TV series, though: Petrie's characterization. :opetrie When I was a kid, I never thought any of the LBT movies made Petrie into a one-dimensional scaredy-cat. Watching the TV series at the same age, however, that overwhelmingly was the impression I got from him. They flanderized him beyond his occasional timidness to complete paranoia, having him automatically react to almost everything with fear. I mean, he could be nervous in the movies, but he wasn't superstitious or anything. He even said to Littlefoot in VI, "Me no believe in bad luck!"

Also, the last time the Gang ventured into the Mysterious Beyond, at least their hearts were in the right place, trying to replace that stone for Tria. But now they're only trying to prove something to Cera. And it's not very responsible for Ruby to just say it'll be okay because it's not that far into the Mysterious Beyond. Does it matter how far it is? She and Chomper had a close brush with Red Claw the last time they were there!

Heh, I like how Littlefoot winks at the others before they start the "Adventuring" song. "That's our cue, guys! Time for the obligatory song." :lol

That fire scene is a lot like the one from LBT III.

Petrie's constant reminders that there's bad luck and it's all Spike's fault, getting an I-told-you-so attitude whenever the smallest problem happens, becomes annoying. I don't care for the superstitious, know-it-all version of Petrie we get in this episode. "Petrie BIG scaredy-egg!" Yeah, I noticed. :rolleyes

I'm glad Petrie at least felt bad enough about his attitude towards Spike that he helped him find food, though. :^^spike Plus, Spike getting his head stuck in that log was funny.

Cera: "Spike, why is your head in a log?"

Petrie: "Because Spike have bad luck. And...because me think there tree stars in log?" :lol

Soon, though, Petrie is back to purely annoying again. It starts to rain--"THIS ALL SPIKE'S FAULT!" The others point out that it rains all the time--"BUT STILL!" :anger

Then Ducky lets it slip that Littlefoot had a ground prickly in his foot, which Petrie quickly declares bad luck, and Littlefoot reacts with, "Thanks, Ducky." x(cera Littlefoot using sarcasm--and on Ducky, even?!? That's it, I'm not happy now. :anger

Wait, since when is the Sheltering Grass in the Mysterious Beyond, anyway? It was definitely part of the valley in LBT II, so that's a continuity error.
Stink pools? I bet stinkweed would thrive in those conditions. :PCera

Cera's reaction to the jumping water: :wow

Error during the "Good Times, Good Friends" song: Ruby's spots are missing.

It makes sense that bad smells bother Chomper more than the others, with his sharptooth sense of smell. Clever foreshadowing of what's soon to come, too.

"From now, on everybody listen to Petrie! Petrie right!" Petrie was never this bossy in any of the movies... :rolleyes
Spike saving the day with the power of stink was hilarious! :lol I love that battle cry. :SmugSpike
Ducky: "Your smell is not so bad, no, no, no." As she and everyone else hold their noses. Real convincing! :PCera

To wrap things up, I'm not particularly fond of this episode due to its abundance of annoying/OOC moments as pointed out above. However, it does have some funny moments and good pacing, and Spike even gets some time to shine, so I can't say it's all bad, just not necessarily my cup of tea.

I'm also guilty of enjoying the yellowbellies. :PCera Although I would never call LBT XIII one of my favorite sequels, it's just so absurd that it really can be funny! It's not as if it pretends that the yellowbellies are anything but ridiculous--the Gang's reactions to them are always priceless! :lol

“The Meadow of Jumping Waters”

Sky Puffies, I love the music, reminds me of Yoshi’s Island in Paper Mario (N64).

Spike and his appettitie, Sweet Bubbles.

Cloud Chomper! Awesome!

Tickly Red Tree Stars?! Bad Luck lol

Uncle Pterano mention!

Redclaw roars are combo of The Lost World: Jurassic Park Velociraptor and T-Rex.

Iagree with you @RainbowFaceProtege that Petrie’s bad luck fixation is a comtinuity problem when I distinctly remeber him saying, “me don’t believe in bad luck.” (LBTVI).

Petrie perches on Littlefoot’s head, a honage to the original film.

Irony, Chomper says “I’m not a scardy egg,” the Gang took care of Chomper when he was unhatched in his egg.

I am a huge fan of Petrie but him blaming Spike for everything because Spike ate bad luck treestars really got on my nerves. This is scapegoating or scapesauring.

Mud slide Ride! Coming to Universal Stuidos near you lol

Cera is like I’ve had enough Mud facials!

Redclaw has red eye in all his photos :lol

Sulfer pools are yellow, interestingly I just drove past a yellow sulfur pool today and I concur it stinks like rotten eggs.

Spike git Mud Skunked lol He’ll need tomato juice to get it off.

Poor Spike, he gets blamed for all the bad luck and then is social distanced by Chomper who can’t stand his sulfur smell. Then the whole Gang can’t stand his smell, so Spike has to stay back of the pack. Ironically in the Journey of the Brave, stinky water will be found by Spike and the qhole gang will use the stinky fpulage to make them unappetizing and difficult to find by the Feathered Sharpteeth.

Spike is so brave! Risking his life to save everyone after being rejected and his stinky smell ran Redclaw, Screech, and Thud off. I am offically Team Spike now.

Petrie apologizes, but its a little lackluster.

Overall a good episode. I didn’t like Petrie’s judgementalism of Spike about bad luck over tearing tickling tree stars when on the end Spike saves the day. This episode deminished my Petrie fandom a couple of notches, but on counterbalance it made me a huge Spike fan. So far since episode 1, Spike has saved the day the most.

It's funny how the portrayal of the Gang varies between the TV show and the movies, isn't it? The TV show put Spike to better use so far, but Petrie (one of my favorite characters, too) got downgraded for sure. :(petrie

I have loved Spike’s characterization in the Series, but I agree Petrie is as you said “one dimensional” at times. Journey of the Brave contrasts starkly with Petrie becoming Digger Emperor, but in the series he’s just a fraidy bird?

*twitches*
Bird?? :bestsharptooth

Just kidding, I know you weren't serious. :lol Back on topic now, Petrie was indeed just a fraidy "bird" in this series. I don't think there was ever one arc involving him that wasn't about him getting over some fear. C'mon, why did that need rehashed so many times? We already saw in LBT XII how brave Petrie really could be, and that was the Petrie I wanted to see more of.

Its like the writers said, “think of every phobia, and give it to Petrie.” :lol
I agree that Petrie was far braver in LBTXII and even if you return to the OR film, he flew down in face of Sharptooth, rescued Ducky, even got bite by Sharptooth and dragged down into deep water, manages to escape and rejoin the Gang. Uh, after being in Sharptooth’s jaws and nearly drowning, Petrie has fears?!! Sorry, rant over. XD
Title: Re: LBT Series Marathon

And now for "Days of Rising Waters"--hmm, another Petrie-themed episode. :)petrie

Petrie's family has shrunk considerably since LBT XII. :p

I love the idea of Petrie having a "snuggling stick." Every kid has that one thing that's special to them, why should prehistoric kids be any different? :yes

EVERY scene involving Chomper around Petrie's siblings is GOLD, pure gold!!! :lol :lol :lol

It's great to see little Tricia again! :wub

You gotta feel sorry for Petrie, trying to move the pieces of his nest back to his old home.

Tricia: "Cewah!" :wub Awwwwww, Tricia is just so adorable in every scene she's in! Look how much she's enjoying herself right before Cera dives in to "save" her.

It's sweet how Chomper tries to comfort Petrie.
Um, why is Petrie smiling when he sings, "Do not cry..." :thinking

Petrie is being a little dramatic--"bye bye, old friends?" Um, it's not like they lived that close to his nest to begin with. He's just moving to a different cliff, not clear out of the Great Valley! :p

Tricia splashing around...I've said it before, but I'll say it again: AAAAAAWWWW! :wub

Petrie's siblings' reaction to Chomper's smile--HAHA! :lol :lol :lol
I honestly cannot believe Petrie would think underneath that fallen tree looks like a nice place to live. I mean, huh? :opetrie

Now Tricia is learning from Ducky. C'mon, hold back, don't say it.... :sducky
*explodes*
AAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!! :wub

Nice of the rest of the Gang to pitch in on the move.

Heh, I like Petrie's attempt to rebuild the nest EXACTLY as it was. Poor guy when he realizes the snuggling stick is gone, though. I'm glad he's got such a good mom, going to find it for him. :DD
I find it hard to believe that one stick would cause that huge rush of mud, but...okay. :rolleye

Look at Petrie's siblings clinging to Chomper's tail! Chomper might not say anything to them, but his dumbfounded face does all the talking: "Oooookay...I have flyers on my tail." :lol :lol :lol

Okay, Tricia reeeeally looks like she's trying to squish Ducky now. :p
Chomper saves Petrie's mom, and Petrie's siblings finally come around to him--yay!! :celebrate
Hooray, Tricia's a swimmer! Time for your next student, Ducky... :SmugSpike
(Seriously, why doesn't she ever teach Spike?)

I don't know what's funnier, Cera's attempt to swim, or Ducky's reaction to it. :lol
I know Petrie's singing voice has rubbed many the wrong way, but...I think it's kinda adorable.
Hey, nice harmonizing between Littlefoot, Chomper, and Ruby there!
It's Petrie's snuggling stick! Chomper saved the day in more ways than one! And the way Petrie kisses it, curls up, and dozes off with it is too cute. :^^spike It's clearly his baby!

I loved this episode! Finally, Petrie got a great story arc that wasn't another rehash of him being scared! Instead, it reminded me what I like about him! :)petrie His attachment to his snuggling stick and his old nest was endearing, and his interactions with the rest of the Gang here were sweet. Chomper had moments to shine, too, and even though the Tricia subplot didn't really have anything to do with the rest of the episode, it was fun.

EDIT: OMG--I think this was the post that just gave me Petrie status! :wow :wow :wow

The Days of the Rising Waters•

Petrie’s nest fever is how many COVID shelter in place kids must feel.

Petrie and family have lost their home! I can identify with that!

Snuggling Stick, Petrie’s version of a blanket.

Mud Waterfall, I wish Mud Brother Mo showed up in this episode.

If Chomper had actual T-Rex claws, he’d never be able pick up those sticks.

Chomper: I am getting really hungry. Petre’s siblings shuttering. This is gold lol

Petrie fretting over move. I usually cry.

I love Petrie’s siblings. But weren’t there like three more in LBTXII?

Snuggling Stick, apparently Petrie had it since he came to Great Valley, however neither the original film or subsequent films ever mentions snuggling stick. Continuity issue.

Petrie loses mother to land slide over snuggling stick. I am so not liking Petrie in this series so far, he is too selfish.

Chomper Sniffer Extraordinaire! :chompysmile

Cera is the doubting Thomas of the Gang, “I’ll dee it ehen I believe it.”

Chomper saves Momma! He eats the mud so she can breath. Chomper saves an adult! He is the chosen one! I love how Chomper risked his life to save Petrie’s Mom.  :chompysmile

Chomper eats mud and crawlers. Petre: You may be gross Chomper, but you are hero! “I need a hero!” 🎵

Tricia swims! Ducky is swimmer instructor extraordinaire.

Overall a decent episode. I felt Petrie’s arch was strong eith having to move to a new nest, but the Tricia swimming subplot was lackluster. Cera in these epusodes seems to be getting the short end of stick story wise (no pun intended lol). For me the beat moment was Chomper leaping into mud slude, and chewing through mud to save Petrie’s Momma. Chomper is a hero. :)

Petrie loses mother to land slude over snuggling stick. I am so not liking Petrie in this series.

In Petrie's defense, it was his mom's own decision to go find the stick for him. It wasn't as if he made her.

Chomper was the best part of this episode for sure! If there was one thing this series did right, it was Chomper! :chompysmile

Now--on to "Escape From the Mysterious Beyond."

I like the interaction between Littlefoot and Chomper as they're getting out of the cave. Chomper thinks he's a big boy. :lol
Red Claw is suitably ferocious here, which is always good. :evilsmile
I like that Petrie came up with an escape, instead of just panicking like he sometimes does in these types of scenes. :)petrie
Cera sure gripes about Chomper a lot during this chase. Not cool, Cera! x(cera
Fast biters! *Jurassic Park music intensifies* :evilsmile :thudstonk
When Ducky and Chomper break away from the rest of the group and Chomper falls to the ground, he's got this really weird, crazed grin on his face... :bestsharptooth

I love what a mismash of characters got stuck on the ledge together: Chomper, Ducky, and Thud. Time for some interesting flattooth-sharptooth interaction!

Ruby: "You've gotta take the good with the bad. Otherwise...you won't get to take anything!" :lol

Now THAT was ferocious when Screech burst out of that rock! I'm getting some serious Jurassic Park vibes from this guy!
YESS--sharptooth subtitles! We haven't seen those since LBT V! :celebrate
I love how determined Chomper is to protect Ducky! :OhYou And Ducky's compassion for Thud (even as he keeps trying to eat her) is great, too! :duckyhappy
The Ducky/Chomper duet is super sweet! :^^spike (On another note, I like how Thud, meanwhile, is evilly examining his claws.) :thudstonk

The tree roots the Gang finds shelter in are so cool, sort of like mangrove trees!

The music during the "Adventuring" song here sounds so much like it came out of Donkey Kong Country Returns.

I love how Ducky tells Chomper that even though he feels little, he's "big on the inside"--it's like she's passing on the lesson she learned from Ruby back in "The Cave of Many Voices."

Isn't it convenient how many trees grow alongside cliffs in LBT? :lol

Gotta give Thud credit for being able to admit Chomper was right all along. And Chomper going back to help him, truly being the "bigger sharptooth," is such a wonderful moment, definitely one of the best this show has given us so far!
The first thing Ducky does when she rejoins the others is hop onto Spike, of course. :duckyhappy :^^spike
I love that when the sharptooth chase resumes, Thud misdirects Redclaw on purpose. Even a fierce sharptooth can have good in him! :chompysmile

This episode was great! The interactions between Thud and Chomper, plus the arcs given to both characters as the plot unfolds, were wonderful! Seeing a bad-guy sharptooth show potential for redemption is awesome, and I only wish they would have built onto that over the rest of the series, but whatever. My only complaint about this episode is that the scenes with the rest of the Gang running from Redclaw felt like obvious filler, especially the "Adventuring" moment that added to the episode in no way whatsoever. This episode was still great, though.

True Petrie did not make his momma go fetch the Snuggling stick, but his zealous resistance to the move and his sad song compelled Momma to risk her safety to get the stick since her son was so unhappy.

Chomper was indeed the best part of the episode. He is a hero! :)

——————

“Escape from Mysterious Beyond”

I love the non-lyric music in this series, I would buy an album of it with its Jamaican, Bahamian, and tropical tunes.

Redclaw be like, “Kids get off my lawn!”  :bestsharptooth :whatdidyousay

Cera: Great Idea Hatchling! Gotta love Cera’s sass.  ;)Cera

Redclaw by far more coordinated and is cutting them off more easily, perhaps he knows the area so well he can anticipate where the Gang eill go.

Screech and Thud gets some spotlight for once.  :evilsmile :thudstonk

Littlefoot: We’ll be fine as long as we are together.
Cera: So they csn eat us together?!
Ha “Friends for Dinner!” XD

Cera could just ram Screech off the cliff.

Convienant earth shake justas Screech is about to pounce, as if someone above the Bright Circle is watching out for them. ;)  :rainbowwave

Ruby: “Shaken, not stirred.” (007 Ref) XD

Trapped on the ledge with Thud. This is the tension we need.

Screech almost got Cera!

Chomper and Thud talking in Sharpteethenese is priceless!

Chomper: She’s my friend! Thud cackles and laughs.

Why doesn’t Petrie get his Momma? She could pick up Chomper and Ducky.

Ducky has a big heart, wanting to help her enemy Thud, “Jesus said, Love your enemies..” (Matthew 5:24).  :duckyhappy

Chomper can really sing!

The Tree Roots remind me of Cera and Littlefoot in vines of the original film fleeing Sharptooth.

“Little Biter” is Thud’s nickname for Chomper, it would make a great GOF username.

I love Thud and Chomper’s discourse. Particularly that Thud admits Chomper is right and Chomper goes to save him and says, “Being the bigger sharptooth.”

Chomper’s act of kindness made Thud pretend he didn’t know ehere the Gang was hiding beneath the rocks. “Love your enemies,” and “you reap what you sow.” (Galatians 6:7-9).  :chompysmile :thudstonk

Overall one of my favorite episodes! It had a great blend of tension, humor, and character development for Chomper, Ducky, and Thud. I like this revisited that the Sharpteeth speak another language and arn’t monsters. Thud is basically part of a trio to survive, but he learned there is friendship that goes deeper than hunting mates; a friendship that helps others and doesn’t abandon anyone.

Moving on to "The Hidden Canyon."

You know, Stop the Seed hardly looks like a fair game for the Gang, considering that the pinecone is almost as big as Ducky and Petrie. :lol

That's a pretty cool-looking cave! (Though I sure wouldn't want to be in it: claustrophobia!!) :p
I'm annoyed that they just recycled the term "tree sweets" here. These new tree sweets have literally nothing to do with the old tree sweets...come on! :rolleye

The animation of Petrie right before they start singing "Good Times, Good Friends" was obviously reused from the Stop the Seed scene, so he's suddenly back in the valley. ("Nobody's gonna notice," they thought.) :lol And Spike's dance in the same scene--haha, that's the most mobile he's ever been in his life! :lol :lol :lol

When even Spike feels too full at the end of the day, you KNOW something's wrong. Mrs. Swimmer is suspicious, indeed, and for good reason!

It's a little odd that only Screech and Thud entered the valley. Up until now, I had the impression that they didn't go anywhere without Red Claw. Get 'em, Grandpa Longneck!

Those supposed fast biter prints have no sign of a raised toe claw. *Sigh.* :rolleyes

Petrie: "We leave now! Me scared!" Petrie's default reaction in this show is fear: confirmed. :rolleyes

Littlefoot: "We made a big mistake."
Ducky: "It is more than an oops-eeps!" :DD

I think it's a bit weird that some bad-smelling fruit is enough to keep sharpteeth away. This makes them seem more like animals than intelligent creatures, which isn't consistent with LBT V or "Escape From the Mysterious Beyond."

Is it just me, or does Redclaw seem like he's barely doing anything in the battle scene? I feel like this whole battle is kind of lazily animated--we already know this show can do better based on some of the previous episodes.

Ha--look at Red Claw trying to wipe the fruit off his nose with those little arms!! :lol :lol :lol

I feel like having Red Claw literally running away from some smelly fruit was a bit much. Could've had him leave without making him looks that silly/weak. :rolleyes

That giant rock hovers in the air for a minute after Grandpa Longneck and Mr. Threehorn push it. :p

I can't believe Mr. Threehorn actually called himself "old." I have the feeling that if anyone else described him that way, they'd be dead! :lol

Well, that's it. This episode was pretty "meh" in my opinion. It didn't really give any interesting development to anyone. In fact, it never focused on any specific member of the Gang at all! Plus, the sharpteeth were poorly used, and then there's the laziness of reusing the term "tree sweet." I mean, the episode wasn't horrible--it was okay and all--but not really a favorite of mine.

I have heard of this infamous episode, its the reason for my Redclaw/Redbelly in Yellowbellies RP. Fruit beats Sharptooth lol I think for sharptooth shame this one takes the cake. I will waych the episode and hlgive my review presently.

Topsy called himself old?! I can pocture him saying “I am too old for this stuff or stick.” An omage to Lethal Weapon lol

“The Hidden Canyon”

New FIFA World Cup will be in Great Valley, Chomper is to be MVP. XD

Player Petrie down! Injury, pinecone.

Spike gets run over by Littlefoot and Chomper lol XD

Hidden Cave leads to Paradiso.

Chomper: Your sniffer must be broken, it smells so bad it makes my head hurt. XD

Gonna be honest, I think those fruits are fermented. XD

So treesweets is a term for all sweet tasting substances in a tree, I thought it was just the name of the sweet treestars in LBTXI.

Continuity mistake, Ruby leaves the Paradise of Pear shaped tree sweets with Chomper, but after “Singing Good Times Good Friends,” you see her briefly with the Gang, even though she left into Hidden Cave with Chomper.

First time we see Ducky’s Mom in series. Lol she wants to feed an already full Sucky and Spike who won’t divulge their secret treesweet paradiso.

To Ducky misleading her mom, “Liar Liarrrr!” -Old Woman, Princess Bride

Screech and Thud in the Valley! Muwahaha!

Pterosaur Air force! Yeah! Dropping payloads of fruit.

I love it, Grandpa Longneck did all the work, and Topsy just sots there taunting Screech and Thud, “You are going home hungry tonight.”

I love the adults arn’t shocked the Gang knows Redclaw and the Fast Biters. No questions like, “how do you know them?” XD

Interesting, stinky tree sweets keep Sharpteeth from entering the Valley. The Gang eating them made everyone vulnerable.

I am glad to finally see and hear Grandma Longneck, she and Grandpa are my favorite grown ups.

Topsy vs Redclaw! Classic matchup of Triceratops vs Tyrannosaurus that you see in the oldest of Dinosaur paintings and illustrations!

Cera and her Dad work together! They toss a treesweet in Redclaw’s mouth! Awesome!

Poor Redclaw, sheds a tear. Its hard being a Sharptooth.

Topsy: I am getting to old to tangle with Sharpteeth.
Lethal Weapon joke! “I’m getting old for this shish (expletive).” (Murtagh, Danny Glover).

Topsy: Trick to fighting Sharpteeth is to never let them know you are afraid, so I marched right up to that sharptooth and looked him square in the eye. Topsy is such a ham for glory and attention lol

Overall, fantastic episode! I am glad to finally see the grown up tango with Redclaw and Screech and Thud. I had heard about this episode, the embarrassment of Redclaw defeated by fruit and honestly it doesn’t bother me, the impression I was given is that the Gang single handedly defeats Redclaw with fruit, but here we saw Grandpa Longneck and Topsy are there to hold the Sharpteeth back while the Gang fires vollies of treesweets at the Sharpteeth.

This has to be one of my favorite episodes, it featured Grandpa longneck, Grandma Longneck, Sucky’s Mom, and Topsy; all of which gave outstanding performances. The tension in the show was balanced, the relaxed first half with treesweets, the foreboding that paradise comes with a price, and when the Sharpteeth arrived the tempo of the show went up. All in all a great episode!

Hey, we're back in business!! And @Gentle Sharptooth I'm glad to see that someone enjoys "The Hidden Canyon." Even though it's not a favorite of mine, I agree that people have made it sound much worse than it is. But now it's time to discuss...

"Legend of the Story Speakers"

I love that the storytelling area from VI has come back!

The sky looks so beautiful in Grandpa Longneck's story. I always wished Saro wouldn't have interrupted that story. C'mon, seriously, I wanted to know the rest! (Were there going to be Rainbow Faces involved? Tell me there were gonna be Rainbow Faces!) :lol

It's cool to meet an old friend of Grandpa Longneck's, and I love Saro's reaction to Chomper. (Guess you've probably noticed by now that how someone reacts to Chomper is a good test of character if you ask me!) It's also nice that Grandpa Longneck gets some development with this episode. Plus, the longneck culture/mythos that we got a glimpse of in LBT X gets further explored in Saro's stories.

That view of the Great Valley at night was gorgeous. There's a very pretty night atmosphere in this episode! :wub

Pretty insensitive of Saro to all of a sudden basically declare, "Hey, Grandpa Longneck, wanna uproot your life and your family to go tell longneck stories with me! Of course you want to!" Then he gets angry at him: "You've turned your back on longnecks and all our traditions! I have nothing left to say to you!" That was more than a little much. Why couldn't Saro have said something more like, "I understand...but I'd always hoped you would help me carry on the stories. If you can't tell the stories anymore...I can't, either." The plot of the episode could've otherwise played out the same way, and Saro would've been much more sympathetic/likeable.

During the "Remembering" song...is that Littlefoot's mom as a hatchling? :cry

Another gorgeous use of the nighttime atmosphere. This episode sure doesn't disappoint there!

Now Chomper is joining in on Littlefoot's search for Saro. I love how his sense of smell was used as kind of a special sharptooth power in this series.

You know, they aren't very consistent about Chomper's size compared to Littlefoot. I think he doubles in size over their journey!

Wow, Chomper can JUMP! :lol

And Saro is still fuming mad--stomping his foot and causing an rockslide, even! I didn't recall him being such a fool, but he kind of is. He saves Chomper and Littlefoot, at least, but he doesn't even apologize to them, he's just like, "You shouldn't have followed me. Those rocks are now blocking the way back to the Great Valley!" (Or, more accurately, maybe you shouldn't throw a foot-stomping fit when you have giant feet!)

I actually kind of like the instrumentals in this song. The tune might be reused, but they at least put a new spin on it.
"I hooope you're riiiiiight..." Um, Chomper sounded pretty eerie there. Play that line in a dark room by yourself, I dare ya! :bestsharptooth
(Change the video speed to 0.5x while you're at it!)

I like that Tall Stepper and his sis are a species that hasn't been used before, but Tall Stepper's color scheme is just like Rhett, and his sister shares Ali's new color scheme. Maybe I'm nitpicking, but is it really that hard to use different colors on your characters? :p

Alright, Grandpa Longneck's here to save the day!

Haha, look at Chomper riding on Saro's foot. :DD

Finally, Saro and Grandpa Longneck make up with each other, but I'm still finding it hard to forgive Saro for that stomp...

This episode was pretty different from any others so far. The way it takes place completely at night gives it a very unique mood, and while that results in some gorgeous backgrounds and animation, it also leads to the episode feeling sort of...I dunno, sleepier in certain parts? It doesn't help that the plot seemed to move slowly for the most part, only to be suddenly rushed to the resolution towards the end. And although I didn't remember having anything against Saro when I watched this as a kid, I find myself not really caring for him now. I guess I'm gonna sum up my opinion by saying this episode isn't bad, but it's not great. It's the kind of thing I'd have to be in the right mood for.

“The Legend of the Story Speakers”

Finally saw where this Grandpa Longneck emote came from

I like Starwatcher, the longneck who looked at the stars. I might add him to “The Quest for Telling.” ;)

Stars came down to see Starwatcher. Cute. [Add, I think you might be right, this could be the work of Rainbowfaces!]

Saro, neat to know Grandpa Longneck had a friend from the past.

Grandpa: That’s Chomper, he was hatched by Littlefoot.

Chomper: I want to learn how different dinosaurs get along.

Grandpa is a Great Story Speaker

Trees sang to the Bright Circle
History of Longnecks is intriguing.

The Night Circle is a longneck’s friend. The kindness of the Night Circle made them longnecks. This raises the question, do longnecks worship the night Circle as a god?

So Saro wanted Grandpa to become story speaker missionaries, going to all longnecks around the land.

Saro: You’ve turned your back on longnecks and their traditions! Luna Wills it!

Grandpa Longneck is hanging his head low and sad, my heart is broken. :o

Young Grandpa Longneck in a flashback!

Remembering song makes me melancholy.. sobs.

Littlefoot: I cannot let longneck stories be lost.
Admirable, i feel the same about my beliefs and traditions.

Cool Chomper and Littlefoot alone in their quest, Dynamic Duo!

Chomper riding on Littlefoot in the water, clinging to his neck, so cute! XD

Three greco gods?:

Sun god: Wants the tree worship and makes them so tall short necks couldn’t eat.

Moon god: Made longnecks necks long so they could eat, taking pity on them.

Wind god: Takes Tall Stepper’s sister away and challenges him to a race to save her.

Saro has graduated from Story Speaker Padawan to Story Speaker Knight. Now go forth and teach new generations the Stories!

What? I wanted to hear about First Voice! She sounded so interesting!

Overall a good episode. The stories seemed very far fetched. But it does lend insight into the Longneck belief system and mythos. I really liked Sorrow, its nice to have another male grown up longneck than Bron, Doc, and Grandpa Longneck. All in all a good episode.

Really liked this episode and the idea of story speaker longnecks (Guess who I think will become a story speaker:  :rhett_brag )

Saro appears to have anger issues shown in this story as he immediately turns away Grandpa Longneck when he refuses to come with him and he causes a landside acting out his frusteration. These are flaws of him of course, but interesting flaws.

I just wish the story went into more depth and have Saro try to improve on his errors with at least him realizing he allowed his feelings to danger those around him and use that as an excuse why he can't be a story teller. It be interesting if he didn't feel he could tell stories is because he thinks like his mistakes make the stories he tells hypocritical and worthless.

I like Littlefoot and Chomper working together, I always do, but I felt like it would have been better to focus more on Saro. Maybe the idea was he'd appear in Season 2 and we'd get more development from him and understand more about his flaws.

@Goldenwind Yeah Saro did seem quick to judge Grandpa who gave a reasonable explanation for staying in the Great Valley. His behavior had the hallmarks of Borderline Personality Disorder, “Yoy are either with me or my enemy; you either agree with me or are my enemy.” Borderline is triggered by rejection or the perception thereof, Saro felt Grandpa was rejecting him because his story speaking mission was being turned down. Granted, Saro comes around in what I agree is a speedy resolution and reconcilation. I would have liked for Saro to apologize for saying to Grandpa, “You have turned your back on longnecks and all our traditions.” That was cruel. Anyone who makes Grandpa sad deserves either a consequence or must give heartfilled apology.

Sorry if I'm disturbing anything by butting in here, but Saro did seem selfish when Grandpa Longneck said he was staying for his family. I mean, what was he supposed to do, leave Littlefoot and Grandma? I don't really know if this episode taught that this is not what you do when someone does something you didn't like.

Feel free to butt in Cera style.  ;)Cera This marathon is open to anyone who wants to comment. :)

I agree with you, there didn’t seem to be any discouragement towards Saro’s behavior other than Grandpa is sad. Saro never has a introspective moment, nor is he corrected about such “all or nothing,” behavior. If kids are to learn via the parables and moral tales in this series, this was a near miss.

Bright Circle Celebration

“Not in to the tall grass!” -RJ, The Lost World Jurassic Park. In The Lost World the Velociraptors hunt people in the tall grass, seeing Chomper and the rest of the Gang made me think of that scene in TLW JP.

Cera is Scroogeceratops, “is it that time again?” (Ugh tone)

Petrie tries to move giant log lol He reminds me of a guy trying bench press what he can’t.

So Petrie basically explains Bright Circle Celebration is to male Day Light Savings happen lol

Feast, Feast on Roast Beast, I mean Trees. XD

Cold Time is Christmas.

Chomper: I can hop like a hopper! You go Chomper, you gi bro. XD

Bright Circle Celebration is Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Daylight Saving’s Day all at once.

From what we learned in “Legend of the Story Speakers,” The Night Circle should be celebrated by Longnecks because it took pity on them and enlogated their necks ao they can eat the taller tree foliage. The Bright Circle made the trees tall so it could hear their worship better without thinking of the longnecks.

Scientifically Cera is right about the bright circle, but I love Litflefoot’s answer, “I think its fin to celebrate something you’re thankful for.”

Ducky deep dive and underwater greens.

Cera is Ceranezer Scrooge.

So Topsy and Cera are Athiestasaurs. Sigh. Cera obvipusly forgot the mysteries of the Rainbowfaces and more. Reality isn’t just what you see, but the unseen, you can’t see air, but you feel it and its essential, the same is with God, and the mysteries.

Spike did a Yellowbelly impression. XD

So Tria is a believer, Topsy is a non-believer.

The Beighr Circle is angry at Topsy and Cera’s unbelief lol Hurls s fire rock on valley.

Chomper and Spike is Fire Depart of Great Valley. XD

Haven’t seen snow since “The Big Freeze.”

Overall, a good episode. I like they tried to tackle something like faith and tradition without offending viewers. At times it felt slow, particularly when they are cleaning up the Valley for the Bright Circle Celebration. For me this episode is in the mid range, not a favorite but not one I disliked.

"The Bright Circle Celebration"

Wow, we haven't even gotten a full minute into the episode, and already Petrie is going full-panic mode over nothing. It's a new record! :p

The Bright Circle Celebration seems a little too much like the Time of the Great Giving (aka Thanksgiving) so far. Being thankful, having a big feast...oh well, I suppose there are only so many holiday-ish things you can do with dinosaurs.

At about 3:30, the former profile pic of @ImpracticalDino suddenly jumps out at me. :lol

I just realized this is the LBT version of one of those Christmas specials where the characters disagree about whether Santa Claus is real, but in this case, it's Petrie and Cera disagreeing on the Bright Circle. In any case, I always like a message that there's more to the world than what you can see. :smile

Oooooh, a meteor. <3 :DD

Mr. Threehorn: "A rock's a rock, a tree's a tree." Totally oblivious to the fact that, actually, these weren't. Next: "I can see the world is flat." It's official: Mr. Threehorn was the original Flat Earther. :lol
Hey, a callback to the mud pool plot! Hooray for continuity! :cerahappy

A fire rock? Flying rocks haven't been a danger since LBT III, so that's pretty cool!

Littlefoot's plan to put out the fire ends up being pretty effective, but it takes a snowfall to really turn things in the Gang's favor. This isn't really consistent with how rare snow in the valley was supposed to be, but the Great Valley looks so beautiful that I'm not gonna complain. I get the impression it was supposed to be sort of a "Christmas miracle" moment, anyway. :)

This is one of the better performances of "I Feel So Happy"...until Mr. Threehorn (or maybe it was Thicknose?) joins in and sort of ruins it, that is. :p

This wasn't a bad holiday special for LBT! (Though when I was a kid I somehow missed the fact that it was LBT's holiday special, which seems totally obvious to me now.) Like Gentle, I liked the message of faith, and the "miraculous first snow of Christmas" trope they pulled out was fun, too. Plus, this was among Petrie's better episodes, not one of those ones that revolved around him overcoming yet another random fear. Rather than having to learn a lesson here, he actually was the one who got to teach Cera her lesson. I, too, noticed the episode was a bit slow at the beginning, but other than that, I found this one to be pretty good. :)

“The Lonely Journey”

Sniff and Seek

Chomper: Remeber Spike, listen to the Sniffer.

Spike climbs on Topsy lol

Chomper talking to Grandma Longneck so casually warms my heart. Chomper is accepted by the grown up, well except for Topsy.

Time of the Great Goving! LBT III returns.

Poor Chomper, Tria: Sharpteeth are horrible vicious creatures! Oh I didn’t mean him.

Ducky is such s good counselorasaurus, she encourages Chomper when he gets downcast and considers returning to the Mysterious Beyond because lots of grown ups are acting hostile towards him.

Ducky just shot up in my fandom over her speaking affirming words to Chomper, telling Chomper how good a tescher he is, that he taught Spike to find her with his sniffer.

Chomper: I can teach sharpteeth to be nice! Uh uh oh lol XD

Mysterious Beyond is greener than I remeber. XD

Orange little sharptooth, Bitey XD

This episode has a ton of Sharpteeth, Fast Biter Trio, Stampede of sharpteeth, Redclaw, Orange Little Sharptooth, Parents of Orange.

The purple Sharptooth parent looks like Chomper’s coloring. We see an adult Sharptooth with Chomper’s vibrant purple.

Chomper invented snowboarding

Spike is savior again! Spike is so awesome in this series! He saves Chomper in the abyss crevice.

Petrie grabbing Chomper’s tail as he going off the jump, and using his wings to slow him down reminds me of fast cars that deploy parachute to slow down at the end of a race.

Overall a good episode. Chomper’s endeavor to teach Sharpteeth to get along was commendable if a bit naive. I loved we got to see another sharptooth juvenile, too bad he could not be swayed in the way of gentle sharptooth. XD

When I was still new to this community, I was reluctant to check out the TV series, even after seeing all of the sequels. I finally did start watching it back in November and December 2019, although I only made it eight episodes in before I stopped. That was around the time Disney+ debuted, and with it came The Mandalorian. And soon after that came the final season of The Clone Wars. Being the huge Star Wars nut that I am, you can imagine that I got distracted with that instead for a while. :p

But now I am resuming with the LBT TV series, and this time I would like to make it through all the episodes. :yes

Anyway, today I watched "The Canyon of Shiny Stones". This is one of the episodes I had seen before, but I decided I'd take another look at it. I remember being rather "eh" about it the first time (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=1124.msg497006#msg497006) I saw it, but I was a bit surprised to find that it grew on me this time. Certainly not a flawless episode, but all in all it was a pretty fun adventure.

When they play hide and seek, I get a kick out of Ruby counting up with, "One treestar, two treestars, three treestars, etc." Too bad my friends and I never used that as kids. :p I also notice how Ducky points out that Spike is eating their hiding spot "again." :smile

There's a lot of really good musical cues when the Gang first journeys to the canyon and then when they're wandering through it. Although it's a bit of a shame that so far I've been enjoying the background score more than most of the songs. :P

The ending kinda annoyed me though. The grown-ups seemed too easygoing and relaxed about the whole thing, considering that their kids nearly died to lava. They should have shown some more initial alarm to see the kids in peril like that. And then it seemed too predictable to me that Cera would end up losing the second shiny stone as well. I understand that it was to establish the message of family being more important (which is a good message), but it still bugged me. :rolleyes

Just watched "Escape from the Mysterious Beyond". OwlsCantRead has told me before that this is one of his favourite episodes. I can see why. It was definitely my favourite episode so far. Certainly the most exciting so far. :)

When Ducky and Chomper break away from the rest of the group and Chomper falls to the ground, he's got this really weird, crazed grin on his face... :bestsharptooth
Haha, wow, he does. I didn't even notice that the first time, so I went back to rewatch that particular segment. XD

YESS--sharptooth subtitles! We haven't seen those since LBT V! :celebrate
Oh, you're right. Interesting. I didn't pick up on that either. Nice observation.

Ruby: "You've gotta take the good with the bad. Otherwise...you won't get to take anything!" :lol
That's actually a good insight there. Ruby has a way of saying things that border on Captain Obvious, yet are insightful at the same time.

I love the non-lyric music in this series, I would buy an album of it with its Jamaican, Bahamian, and tropical tunes.
I agree; it's great. :cheers

I did find it a bit predictable that either Ducky or Chomper would end up wanting to save Thud. But on the other hand, it did lead to a nice moment at the end when Thud decides to repay the act of kindness.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one. I give it a 7.5/10.

Well I'll look forward either way. :^^spike

Today I watched "The Bright Circle Celebration". Already we get off to a great start with the opening teaser, unfolding upon a pleasant scene, until Petrie suddenly starts screaming and we don't see what it is, before it cuts to the title sequence. Sure gets your interest and attention going right away. I had a feeling that the payoff would end up being nothing noteworthy. :rolleyes But it was still a great way to start the episode.

I enjoyed "My Reality". One of the better songs so far. Nice and catchy. :yes Even if it does use the exact same melody as "Fix Your Tooth" and "Do Anything". :p

Interesting how Cera references Tria's mud pool, which was back in "The Mysterious Tooth Crisis". Is this the first explicit bit of continuity we've had between episodes? It was a nice touch either way.

I noticed while watching that this was a lower-key episode, but it actually worked. I was genuinely interested in what was going on. Although it sure surprised me when the fire rocks suddenly came down two-thirds into the episode, completely changing the tone!

When Cera first shows up to help put out the fires, she should've shouted "I'M COMING!!!!" That would've been a great callback to the first movie.
:cerahappy

At about 3:30, the former profile pic of @ImpracticalDino suddenly jumps out at me. :lol
Oh, haha, I forgot about that.

Cera is Ceranezer Scrooge.
Lol!

It was awfully convenient timing the way the snow suddenly came down to help with the rest of the fire. Although I did love the ending with the characters in the snowy landscape at night. There was something cute and magical about it.

I give the episode a 7/10.

"The Lonely Journey"

Before I even started watching, before I knew anything about the plot, already the episode title had me intrigued. And the episode itself does explore some interesting concepts. The issue of a potentially dangerous sharptooth living amongst the leaf-eaters in the Great Valley. Even though Chomper's friends, along with us as the audience, already knows that he isn't actually dangerous, it's still an intriguing moral dilemma. This leads to a disheartened Chomper leaving the Great Valley in an effort to try and make things better for sharpteeth and leaf-eaters alike. Of course, he soon gets himself into trouble, and his friends demonstrate their camaraderie and loyalty once more by going after him.

The premise sounds great on paper, and we get some nice character development for Chomper here. And yet, I didn't really care for this one at all. I honestly can't put my finger on why. It just didn't click for me. I also wonder how many more times I'm going to hear "I Feel So Happy" before I'm done watching all the episodes.

I enjoyed "My Reality". One of the better songs so far. Nice and catchy. :yes Even if it does use the exact same melody as "Fix Your Tooth" and "Do Anything". :p
And now they use it again for "Sniff Him Out". :p :p

I did enjoy the action scene of the characters sliding down the mountain to escape the earthshake. Definitely the best part of the episode. It was also nice that Spike again got to help out with the episode's resolution by eating a path through the ice down to where Chomper was. After feeling that Spike was an underdeveloped character in the films, I like some of the creative ways in which the TV series has been using him.

I give the episode a 4.5/10.

Yep, still my favourite episode. My initial review of it was posted further above in this thread. However, later on I did go back to post in that episode's discussion thread. You can see it here (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=1173.msg521187#msg521187).

So, what's your general opinion on TV series?

My biggest complaint was all the repeated songs. By and large the songs have grown on me since I first started watching LBT back in 2019. But with the TV series, the constant repeats really did not do a good job of justifying their decision to include two songs in every episode.

That aside, however, my overall assessment of the TV series would be "surprisingly good." I'm pleased to say that I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. :yes In fact, I'd go so far as to say I enjoyed it about as much as the films.

Not intended to be my all-time definitive scores. Journey of the Brave in particular I only saw once and I feel like it might grow on me if I gave it a second chance sometime. Some of the TV ratings might also change if I saw them more than once. Maybe I'll do that a couple years down the road. But as of right now, that's where it's at for me. :)

Ducky: "Your smell is not so bad, no, no, no." As she and everyone else hold their noses. Real convincing! :PCera

Lol that is what I was thinking.

Yeah, I felt like the songs could have been removed altogether. The trend of songs in the sequels didn't fit with the half hour cartoon format.  :ToppsGrumpy

Probably because of my nostalgia, but I want to say I really like this show, probably even more than the films when I first saw it as a kid. XD It gave me 30 minute stories with my favorite chars with returning ones from the movies as guests. I felt like there should have been a second season with some story arcs and other character returns. There was so much potential here.  :littlefootoh

Glad you enjoyed watching them Stardust.   :littlefoot:)

Okay Stardust, two things I want to bring up with your ratings.

Spoiler: ShowHide
First off, you do actually have a few of them near the end out of order.  Wikipedia is, sadly, not correct on this. (This is one of many reasons why you take a lot of stuff on there with a grain of salt.) Officially, Through the Eyes of A Spiketail was the final episode.  The TRUE order is actually here.

https://landbeforetime.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_The_Land_Before_Time_episodes

Second, I can see that I'm not the only one who hates The Amazing Threehorn Girl with a passion that refuses to be quenched.  THAT was probably the worst, bar none.  Let it die in the fire that is my hatred.

Hm... well both the Wikipedia list and the LBT wiki list have the same order right now, which is the order I was using when I was going through each of the episodes. Is there a production code number or something that indicates Through the Eyes of A Spiketail to be the last episode?

As for The Amazing Threehorn Girl... yeah... nice to know I have an ally on that. :p
