They actually usually are bad, yet some are in the Great Valley. Do you think they are Bothtooth/Halftooth?
They appear evil in the first film, and probably would have eaten Cera had "the tar monster" not showed up. Also, they are not that nice in Journey to the Land of Mists either. However, they are in the song "Creepy Crawlies" with the residents of the Great Valley.
They are pretty sinister guys, but they aren't specifically labelled as Sharpteeth, despite having teeth, and, unless their previous includence was why Chomper was let in, one might surmise that they are omnivores.

There's a discussion topic about these characters I believe. The domeheads of the first movie are an exception; it's unlikely all of them are "bad" just based on the actions of these guys.
The novelization hints that these domeheads were insulted by Cera in a cut scene (the Oasis scene specifically) and they attacked her out of anger. I have also heard the theory that they are racist and went after Cera due to a strong hatred of other species.
One member of GOF actually wrote a story about these three. It's called Guilty Until Proven Innocent. It involves the domeheads adopting a carnivorous diet, coming to the valley, and Chomper is accused of betraying everyone. It's on this site somewhere, and I believe it's on FF.Net. It's worth checking out.
