Land Before Time RPG / Rinkus & Jared rp
« on: April 10, 2015, 01:21:27 AM »
fanciful_flyer: Actually, this thread isn't active anymore. I already had a story/adventure with Rinkus from 2010 to 2012 called "Flyers Of The Mysterious Beyond".

This is an old thread from 2010, which lead to starting "Flyers of the Mysterious Beyond". It was a *long* story, too. (It was 41 pages long) although it was incomplete, and had no specific plot, I enjoyed it.

You can read the story in this link if you want to, fanciful_flyer: http://z7.invisionfree.com/thegangoffive/i...?showtopic=8905

Since that time, my life has gotten a little more active. Today, i'm working at a part-time job, and am enrolled in a college now.

You see, when I had started "Flyers of the Mysterious Beyond" in late 2010, I had no job at the time and wasn't enrolled in college either, but I did have fun participating in the story, though. Even though I sometimes got overly-dramatic as a tan rhamphorhynchus in the story, I still had fun participating.

Character Discussion / Petrie's blind defense of Pterano
« on: April 05, 2015, 11:54:34 AM »

Also, let's face it from Pterano's perspective. He's banished for life. He won't ever be able to see Petrie unless Petrie leaves the Great Valley.

LittlefootAndAliTogether was wrong on 2 levels:

1. Pterano is not banished for life, he's banished temporarily, for 5 cold times (5 years).

2. Pterano *will* be able to see Petrie again if Petrie somehow finds him in the mysterious beyond sometime *during* the 5 year banishment, or when Pterano returns to the Great Valley after his 5 year banishment has ended.

LBT Fanart / Rinkus as a hatchling
« on: April 04, 2015, 11:40:00 PM »
:D It was only a matter of time before someone drew something like this. :D

Wow. Very nice art, fanciful flyer. No one here has ever drawn Rinkus as a young hatchling with his siblings, and with his mom. :)

(The only thing you missed drawing was his light pink colored belly.) But other than that, you did great! :D I really like these drawings.

General Land Before Time / Should they bring Pterano back?

He's got cancer. There was a topic on here a while ago but I can't find it right now...

Ducky123: Michael York, had "amyloidosis" and "multiple myeloma" which is a form of cancer in bone marrow, a couple of years ago.

If Pterano were to make a future appearance, he would need a new voice actor.

I can't see him being voiced by Michael York, because of the health issues that he's had for the past couple of years. He doesn't have the same power and strength in his voice for Pterano as he did during "The Stone Of Cold Fire". Pterano would need a new voice actor if he were to make a future appearance.

Now, Michael York *is* still alive and going, and still does interviews, but he doesn't have the same full power and strength in his voice for Pterano because of the health issues he's had recently.

If you needed a new/recent video of Michael York and what he looks and sounds like today, he is on the left in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuuLSsLYna4

Also, here he was in 2013 speaking about the amyloidosis:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cF0pY9IsiM

He then had a successful blood stem cell transplant in July 2013 to treat his condition.

Also, here's a time comparison of Michael York. Then, and now.

November 2000. 58 years old. 1 month before "The Stone Of Cold Fire" was released: http://img.spokeo.com/public/900-600/micha..._2000_11_14.jpg

January 2005 at 62 years old: http://img.spokeo.com/public/900-600/micha..._2005_01_13.jpg

November 2010 at 68 years old. 10 years after "The Stone Of Cold Fire".  Here it *really* looked like he was having an issue with the skin area around his eyes: http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Michael...jZxUWe6B5Fl.jpg

April 2011 at 69 years old. He had lost the neatness of his hair and started wearing sunglasses to lessen the appearance of the skin discoloration around his eyes: http://img.spokeo.com/public/900-600/micha..._2011_04_26.jpg

2013 at 71 years old. The article this picture comes from says " Doctors initially diagnosed York with bone cancer before discovering he actually has amyloidosis, a blood disorder that breaks down tissues and leaves abnormal deposits in the body."  http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynami...0x/395731_1.jpg

January 2014: http://static7.imagecollect.com/preview/560/b73073d8b133b53

And another from last year. 2014.  Notice that he's wearing glasses with clear lenses again: http://www.yourcanterbury.co.uk/polopoly_f...e_630/image.jpg

Michael York has been recovering, but if Pterano were to return in a future movie, he would need a new voice actor. You know that I love Pterano, and I would love to see him again, but I don't expect to see him in the upcoming 14th movie, though.

General Land Before Time / Is Sierra a Sharptooth flyer?
« on: January 02, 2015, 03:34:53 AM »
How about a post from a flyer fan?

Yes, Sierra does have teeth, I do think that he's a sharp-toothed flyer, and his species is called "cearadactylus" (pronounced sierra-dact-uhl-us) and yes, they had teeth in real life, too.

General Land Before Time / Do U like Rinkus? :)

Yes, but I don't think he's a nice character. I think he's a villain.

Yes, he was a villain. But, this is just something i've imagined him to possibly be (behavior-wise) after "the stone of cold fire".

*i'm bumping/updating this thread, because i've developed an interest in Rinkus again* It's just.. he does kind of feed my imagination, personally.

I've imagined that if I were an lbt rhamphorhynchus, i'd love to try and make friends with him, i'd be very shy at first, but i'd want to get along, and i'd love to hang out with him.

I really love this drawing that Flipperboidskua was kind enough to draw for me about 4 years ago. I'm the light tan rhamphorhynchus with the blue eyes in the middle, and I do love how friendly and happy Rinkus and I look together in the drawing. We really do look like 2 great rhamphorhynchus friends. :)

It's the exact date today. December 13th, 2014!

:celebrate Happy 20th anniversary to The Great Valley Adventure, Chomper, Ozzy, and Strut! :celebrate

As of today, the first LBT sequel has officially turned 20 years old.

Here's a picture of a copy of the original 1994 VHS edition for a look into the time capsule: http://galleryplus.ebayimg.com/ws/web/2811...1/1000x1000.jpg

Would anyone care to *see* as well as hear Aria in a webcam interview?

Earlier today, I found this. It's a *long* 1 hour and 20 minute video of Aria doing a webcam interview with 2 other people that took place earlier this year. You can actually watch her talk, answer their questions, and everything.

Here's a link to it:

General Land Before Time / I've left LBT...
« on: December 06, 2014, 01:27:29 AM »
(I wasn't ready to let go fully.)  Today, I bought movies 2-9 brand new on dvd for just $20 on 2 "4 movie family fun" dvd packs. That's 8 movies on 4 discs in 2 cases. It's a new 2014 dvd edition, too.

Here's what the cases look like, by the way.

2-5: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91tI...iUL._SY606_.jpg

and 6-9: http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/imgcache/...cuniversalstore

:) So, I now own movies 2-9 again. and all on just 4 discs in 2 cases, brand new at a low price, too. This saved a lot of space in my dvd bag in my closet than what I had before. They also still have copies of 10 and 12 at the music/movie store at the mall, too in case I want to get those again in the future.

Oh, its true. Aria talks about it twice during the interview. Towards the very end of the interview I asked her for more details but she couldn't spill the beans on anything more (except that she reprized her role as Ducky and that the voice of Littlefoot is obviously different than before.)

I just hope that the film isn't COMPLETELY kiddish and that it has some stuff in there for adults and fans of the original to appreciate. But I fear it may be a cash grab and nothing more. I hope not, but in any case I'll be watching it since Aria told me the songs were pretty good.

This is very cool news to hear. I hope the plot isn't totally babyish. I hope the plot is decently written. I'm glad that there's a possibility that the yellowbellies may no longer mark the end of the movie series.

Jeff Bennett and Tress Macneille are still around acting strong today, so, of course I would expect to see Petrie and his mom, as well as Ducky's mom, too.

lonedinosaur27:   :) Wow! you got to talk to Aria herself? That is AMAZING! :) I'm very happy you were able to!

By the way, it's been 7 years since the last Land Before Time movie, "The Wisdom of Friends", which was released on November 27, 2007. Exactly 7 years ago to the date of this post, in fact.

This thread *really* gives us some future food for thought, anyway. :)

General Land Before Time / Great Valley Adventure's 20th anniversary
« on: November 25, 2014, 04:59:06 AM »
We're approaching the 20th anniversary of the first LBT sequel, "The Great Valley Adventure", which is coming up on December 13th.

I found a picture of a sealed copy of the original 1994 vhs, too: http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/0e/...ac4b73c5a70.jpg

It's Chomper, Ozzy, and Strut's 20th anniversary.

I remember first renting this movie in 1996 when I was just 6 years old along with the then all-new "Time of the Great Giving".

I can't believe it's been 20 years.  Wow, how the time flies.

This movie is special to me because it was the first LBT movie I ever saw.

I can also remember watching (for the first time) the part in the beginning where Petrie tried walking with his eyes closed!  :DD

^I guess you misunderstood Kor there, Jared. Kor's only concerned about him (TFS) regretting selling his stuff. He could always revive his interest in LBT after all...
The other thing Kor said is that people could still visit from time to time despite their interest in LBT being not as strong as it used to be. There's enough non-LBT stuff to do on here after all and lots of friendships to be kept in.

Nevertheless, you have a point there, Jared. You don't have to possess any merchandise to be a LBT fan. Otherwise I should maybe leave this site for I own NOTHING besides the movies.

No, I was just making a point. :) You don't have to own any LBT merchandise in order to be a fan.

The Fridge / Pteranodon wedding cake decoration
« on: November 17, 2014, 03:28:56 AM »
I had to share this with you. :)

I happened to find in a search, a wedding cake topper of a pteranodon couple. It's the first i've found of it's kind, and didn't even know it existed. Their colored bellies are in the shape of hearts, too.

I've found 4 up close pictures of it:

The Fridge / My wisdom teeth
« on: November 17, 2014, 01:14:13 AM »
Well, at the end of the 4th day after the pulling. I've stopped using the ibuprofen. I'm not feeling any more pain or soreness. I'm not bleeding anymore, there's no more blood in my spit, and i'm returning to my normal straw usage tomorrow. I'm getting used to the puffy feel of the empty areas in the top of my mouth where the 2 teeth once were. I'm still taking it really gentle to those healing areas, i'm still going to wait more time until I eat any hard foods, like nacho chips or nuts, to be safe.
