General Land Before Time / New Characters

As much as I like the series, I don't like the idea of more sequels. It sounds like something Disney would do, sucking every last dollar out of an essentially dead series. I would like to see sequels, but only if they can make it well, and by the looks of it, it seems to be doing everything but.

Hey, I'm a computer guy like you and I step on people's toes all the time. I have yet to figure how to make people actually like me. You are not alone.

All I figure is people are crazy. :bang

Be sure you stay through the credits - there's an additional scene after they are done.

Oops... Missed that one. :cry2

I think the final conflict was dragged out too long, and the special effects were used too often. There's just something about the use of video editing which ruins a good movie.

Overall, a smidgen too long (almost 3 hours) and too many sub plot, which distracts from the main plot, but honestly okay. It could have been much worse, but there is definitive room for improvement.

I'd rate it a 6 out of 10.

PS. Spoiler Warning! The movie ends!  :lol

General Land Before Time / Best Sequel(s)
« on: May 26, 2007, 04:27:30 AM »
I just think all squeals are bad, but 2-4 are less bad than 5-10.  I guess to specify one, it'd be number 2 because it had the most original crew from number 1 and had the least 'wtf' moments.

1988 Theatrical Release / Racisim - A longneck / threehorn problem?
« on: May 19, 2007, 05:28:24 PM »

"Racism" may not be the right word for the kind of prejudice exhibited by the dinosaurs in LBT. "Race" is usually used for variation within a species (e.g. Africans vs Europeans vs Indians vs Native Americans...ad naseum). Longnecks, threehorns, and fliers are clearly from different clades, never mind species. "Speciesism" or "cladism" would probably be more appropriate here.

I agree longnecks and the three-horns are different species of dinosaurs. The concept is for the different species to actually represent different racial, social or economic classes of person, not really for the scientific term of 'species'; which the original movie(s) did a reasonable job.

As for racism, it's pretty apparent that there is disparity among the adult, which trickles 'the gang', however the 'racism' among the group is probably no more than our current equivalent of a bunch of guys making fun of each other and saying one guy is homosexual or a what not.

The Fridge / Happy New Year!
« on: January 02, 2007, 05:33:01 AM »
It's been a great year reading semi-off-the-wall posts, tho most of the time I don't have much to say, I must say it's been great to read everyone's thoughts on stuff. I got the opportunity to celebrate New Year's twice cause my girlfriend is in Newfoundland right now and I'm in Calgary. So to you all a happy new year and good luck on your resolutions. (Mine is 1280 x 1024 :p)

General Land Before Time / favorite and least favorite lbt character
« on: July 29, 2006, 03:21:00 PM »
I have got to say, Cera is my favorite char. Unlike most movies, she's no damsel in distress.

As for least... Tria; the most randomly flirtatious character.

LBT Fanart / Malte's Random LBT fanart

Okay Malte, I've been trying to figure out how to teach you about feeling with art, and I think I have something.

Personally speaking, I don't think that it's possible to teach someone how to feel. You can lead someone closer to understanding, but there's no way of actually making someone feel.

Quote
As a tip, use color to help express your feeling. (ie Red for Anger, blue for sadness, pink for love, etc.)

Color is one medium that can be used for art. Color is very powerful, but monochrome is another form of art, and it's not right to push your form onto someone else. What if I told you to stop using color film in your camera and only to use black and white because it's more 'artsy'?

Nothing against you Pokeplayer, but I think if Malte really change his style, he'll find a local professional teacher.

LBT Projects / Remaking LBT Songs or Music *Survey*
« on: June 02, 2006, 03:24:31 PM »
Heh, since all LBT's music seems to be very orchestral, why not remix it so it's like rock or like dance, maybe add a electric guitar  :lol

And the White House burned, burned, burned,
And we’re the one’s that did it!
It burned, burned, burned,
While the president ran and cried.
It burned, burned, burned,
And things were very historical.
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa waa waah!
In the War of 1812!

Welcome Amethyst :p

I think he means "Kick the person's a$$".  If I'm reading it correctly.
Oh really? I thought he was just going to have a tantrum in the corner...  :lol

Anyhow... Most of my friends don't actually know I'm part of this form, not that I'm worried how they'll judge me. Since no one ever asks, so there's no reason to tell them.

(Side Note: I have this friend named action9000 that I still haven't disowned for liking LBT  :P: )

Hi, My name is tobey. I've been sober for well... never....  :P:

Anyhow, I'm IRL friends with Action9000, our very verbose friend, and that strange unknown voice on the kareoke project that he's working on.

I'm not an obsed fan, but I do enjoy my fair share of good random cartoons with good music.  :p

I haven't watched all of them, so forgive me if I totally miss jokes and what not.

IRL I'm a computer engineer (which mean I connect the software world to the hardware one) and I spend my free time either coding, making photo illistrations or playing random racing and RPG games.

Anyhow, enough of me...  :wave
