I blame these things for killing LBT.  Now I want to go Modern Warfare on them.  One of my favorite parts of Twilight Valley was where these teletubbie wannabes finally got what was coming to them.

I use to think that scene was disturbing too until I saw something else that was even worse.
Why do I get the feeling I know what you're talking about?
Looks we may having seen the samething. IDK. I don't want to bring it up though.
Would this, per chance, happen to be a certain horror movie?
Nope it had nothing to do with that. Had to do with sexual matters there. No horror film I know of comes close to this scene from LBT 13.

I guess you can say that the Death of Littlefoot's Mother has been replaced as "the most painful scene in the LBT saga"

It's Rated G, when would there be any, besides that fart joke and the picture I have on the second page and the same thing again later? (which is actually called rude humor)

I accidentally didn't make sense in that post. What I mean to say is the that I did see something worse then that LBT 13 scene there months later after seeing the film. The thing I saw was on the internet and it was sexual.

Lemme guess... It has to do with a site that starts with the letter 'H' and rhymes with "burpy".

Am I getting warmer? lol :p

It was on youtube, but that's as far as I'll go. I since forgotten about it.

These characters completely killed 13 for me. I almost lost my mind when they finally found their herd. Everything they do is unbearable to watch. I almost stopped watching when the fart joke happened.

At least Littlefoot did something for them.

Oh the yellowbellies. Thanks to them, I now have a grudge on Sandra Oh and refuse to watch Grey's Anatomy because she played Loofah in LBT 13. Yeah, I know. The grudge is stupid but I really don't care. Maybe I'll forgive her, maybe not.
Foobie seemed the least annoying. And when they said he was the wise one, I fell out of my chair.
I watched the movie two times in all my life, I don't really plan to watch it again. It was awful. They could've done alot better.

Probably gonna end up a pariah after saying this but here goes anyway. I didn't find the yellowbellies all that bad *ducks and flinches*. Granted it wasn't the most intellectual of plots but I found their "antics" as a little more light-hearted and goofy humour rather than a dumbing down. The morals where still in place and it didn't warp the main cast in any way (I felt anyway). I'll admit that this obviously won't go down as the pinnicle of Cuba Gooding Jnr or Sandra Oh's acting careers but I felt they played the parts well enough to bring the dappy nature of their ways across. I've not no major gripes with LBT 13 (as I know most do) but I guess that's just the liberal streak in me (that meant in general and not as a political stature btw :p).

Oh yeah, and Foobie being the wise one? (Spoiler alert....whoops! Too late! :DD :p) The second the idea of a "Wise One" was mentioned, I'd figured it. Although, on first hearing his name, I thought Doofah called him a "boobie". Had to rewind that part and re-listen to that bit thinking "Did she really just say that?!"  :lol

Well ever thought that maybe she didn't enjoy doing that part? Not all actors and voice actors are really proud of the kind of work they did. And yeah I do think it's pretty silly to hold a grudge against her all because she voiced a yellowbelly. Why does it matter that much? It's just a movie, after all. No need to get all upset about it. It's not like she killed someone or committed some other horrible crime. No, all she did was voice a character. That's not that big of a deal.

I used to view these characters with blind hatred, but now I've taken a step back to look at them again and really think about them, and I have a new outlook on them. I don't hate them as much as I thought I did. I'm explaining more in the topic about the movie itself, as I have a few things to point out myself.

I guess your right.  :(

I'm sorry for my words, I wasn't thinking and I wasn't in the right state of mind for posting that. Now that I look back on the movie, the Yellowbellies weren't all that bad, they were amusing enough. I've taken back my grudge against Sandra Oh, she is a very talented actor, and I'll admit, she did do a pretty good job at playing Loofah. I've given up on hating this movie, because I know, it was bad, but it was amusingly stupid and I'll admit, some parts were funny. But it still was pretty...strange.

It can be enjoyable enough if you look at it as a pure comedy. Though not as good as the early sequels nor anywhere as good as the first movie.

I've only seen them in the yellowbelly bounce song, not counting the sleeping yellowbellies in the how do you know song.

They look like a silly bunch, In certain movies it would be ok.  But most lbt movies have been pretty serious, with some comedy.  It sounds like the 13th movie may be the other way around, lots of comedy with a bit of serious stuff now and then.  Which is a big departure from LBT.  Though I've not yet seen the 13th movie so can't say really.
Precisely. All of the other LBT movies had at least some degree of seriousness, which is rare enough in a direct-to-video movie. from 2 to 6, they were hand-drawn and inked, so they would have a bit more of a pastelle and darker tone, though not as dark as the original. Then with 7 and onwards, they brightened up and the colours got a bit more vivid as they moved to computer animating, but they kept most of the seriousness. Number 11 was pushing it a little bit, what with the huge chunks of comic relief, like the adults' attempts at searching, and the final fight with the sharpteeth which definitely had a few traces of slapstick, but still kept a more melancholy tone than the 13th one. I'd say the 13th one was when they jumped the proverbial shark.

But yeah... these yellowbellies. I just look at their designs, and I automatically know that they'll be like Jar Jar Binks; obnoxious, never serious and serving no purpose but comic relief.
Come to think of it, I've never actually read a good plot synopsis for the 13th film. Exactly what is the plot?

Well I may have to agree with one thing that I admit I have never actually read a good plot synopsis for the 13th film. I think this is the plot.

Littlefoot made a poor choice to cross the log to get more treestars and he nearly fell in the cliff. Littlefoot's grandma saves him the log fell in but his grandma managed to make it out.
He had a bad dream about Littlefoot's grandma falling to her death in the cliff and his grandma told him all about the wise wisdoms.

The nexted morning Littlefoot and his friends meet the Yellow Bellies Loofah, Doofah and Foobie. clumsy, silly and stuff. and they told them that they are meeting up with there herd to go find Berry Valley.

They helped them out, when Littlefoot had a nightmare of them falling off the log, and decided to teach them about wisdoms, while on their journey.
but in the end Littlefoot finds out that wisdoms appear in different ways.

Now I may be wrong about it. but that's what I know so far  ;)

Okay, so I finally managed to find a way to watch this one without having to pay for it, and here is my overall review:

Overall, it's not as bad as I expected. Granted, compared to pretty much all the other LBT sequels, this one is probably the worst, but not by as much as I imagined. From what I had heard, I was imagining it to be absolutely unwatchable (The kind of bad ovie you get on Mystery Science Theatre or Cinematic Titanic). But up till the Yellowbellies entered, it was okay. I'll admit they weren't as annoying as I expected (Iwas expecting the to be on par with Jar Jar Binks or any Rob Schneider character) , but their designs were still pretty bizarre. They look like no dinosaur I'VE ever seen!
The plot was pretty bog-standard material. No serious twist, no extremely dramatic moments, even the battle against the Baryonyx wasn't very entertaining. Also, the ending didn't really have that nice feel the other endings had, which ranged from IX's and X's undiluted shmalz, IV's charming flashback montage, heck even XI had that nice little camera rotation thing. But this one...nothing. The just..go home, and that's it.

Honestly, I think the only really redeemable factor of this film are the first and last song. Say So was pretty fun stuff, and I kinda like the way it segued into the next scene, and How Do You Know had a nice ring to it, especially the harmonising at the end. But to me, the message of How Do You Know seemed a bit confused. Was it telling us to trust our heart or listen to our elders or what?

So in conclusion: Pretty bad, definitely the worst of the series, but if you can find some way to watch it for free and skip through much of it, you may as well.

EDIT: After watching a couple more times, I do have a few more things to say:  "Say So" would have been good if the segue INto the song was any good. But it just seems a bit too sudden.
Being a fan of rather immature humour (slapstick more than anything), I did find their antics kinda funny. But the belly-bouncing thing really didn't help. It just seemed wayyyyyy to weird. I think that if they just made the Yellow-bellies look fat (as opposed to now, where they look pregnant), and maybe toned down their enormous butts, they might be redeemable characters.
And having finally plucked up the steel to listen all the way through "Yellow Belly Bounce", I am kind of amazed at how catchy and fun I think it is. Granted, it basically serves nothing for the plot, but it's just a big, dumb, fun catchy little song, plus, apart from the dance-number in the middle with Spike and Foobie, the animation was pretty good too. That's basically how the LBT songs work for me. If they have a good rhythm to them, good vocals (especially if they harmonise) and good instrumentals, it will quickly become popular with me. The message usually is second in terms of importance.

@LittleDas75 Same. XD I find their antics to be enjoyable (Except Doofah  :rolleye). They are fun and full of positive energy. I guess that is why they are my favorite dinosaur in the series. Even my first Land Before Time OC is a Yellowbelly. XD I actually hope they will appear again in the franchise one day.
