It has been decided a while ago that there will be six main classes of characters (species) for the game, longnecks, threehorns, spike- / clubtails, swimmers, flyers, and fast-runners. To allow for a greater variety of outward appearances of playable characters we hope to have several subspecies (kinds) for each species, each of which would have exactly the same performance values, but different looks. For example in case of the longneck there could be an Apatosaurus, a Diplodocus, and a Brachiosaurus version etc.
We are far from that stage of development now, but there may be more ways to individualize the different characters if for example we could pick from a selection of different "details" such as eyecolors, different types of spinecrests, different color patterns etc
I've drawn some sketches for some types of characters that might appear in the later game. So far I have drawn sketches for four species, always one sketch with some of the different kinds and another pointing out some of the details which might be variable to allow for a greater individuality of the characters.

Same story for the threehorns. There are more practicable kinds of threehorns than in case of the longnecks I think:

There are many possible kinds of swimmers who vary mostly by their crests (leaving out any crest whatsoever might qualify an otherwise Ducky shaped character as an Edmontosaurus):

Wow, fantastic stuff! I might add a little to this after finals, if that's okay by you. Would you rather I start a new thread? I think a Hagryphus-ish dino would be a neat alternate for the fastrunner class. I actually doodled an LBT style Hagryphus the other day, I really want to elaborate on it now.

Totally off-topic, if the game gets complete, I'd love to make an "expansion pack" allowing the player to play as a sharptooth like Chomper, who starts at the Mysterious Island.  I think that could be an interesting take on the game, especially if we consider how reputation systems would work between leafeaters and sharpteeth.  Some PvP tasks could start existing as well, with sharpteeth attacking leafeater NPCs or even players for their tasks, or vice versa.

Anyway, I'm getting too excited about this but if our game as we imagine it gets completed, this is the plan for an expansion pack. ;)

This is not a fanart thread but a thread about concept drawings for the game and the less scattered they are the better.
I am planning for concept drawings for the flyers and fast-runners in the style of the above drawings. In case of the flyers the kinds could be Pteranodon (Petrie), Rhamphorhynchus (Rinkus' kind), and Microraptor (Guido).
In case of the fast-runners it could be Oviraptor (Ruby), Rainbowface, and Pachycephalosaurus. A Hypsilophodon (Hyp's kind) might work out as well.
I hope that these drawings may be of any use at all for our 3D character designers.

I made some concept art for the game, although I admit, there are some mistakes in them, most notably the fact that the threehorns' necks are too long. ^^;

There are different types of flyers & swimmers seen in some movies & episodes & long necks seen in the 10th movie.  Maybe some screenshots may help also
