Saurus rock

Where the heck is Saurus rock?
According to the front part of the sixth movie, Saurus rock appeared in the middle of the valley right?

But for some reason, there are Sharpteeth near the rock, which makes no sense as the rock should be in the great valley, unless the sharpteeth found their way in.

Also, in a certain TV episode which shows Chomper and Ruby looking for the Great Valley in a flashback, Chomper says:

"Look! Saurus rock! We must be near the Great Valley!"

Note that he says near, not in.

My theory is that the Great Wall is not as closed as suggested in LBT 2 and that along those parts of the wall which would let through sharpteeth there are large "buffer areas" which are hardly populated by any dinosaurs, so the region would be of little interest to any sharpteeth getting there. I suppose Saurus rock to be located in these outskirts / buffer area. In LBT 3 we also see a large region that seems to be rather unpopulated (where they find the waterhole) which might belong to those outskirts. Apparently the Canyon of LBT 6 (through which Doc leaves) is an entrance / exit to the Great Valley. In a map which I drew for the computergame project (see this thread) I placed those outskirts in the southwestern region of the Valley so Littlefoot and the others would not have passed it in the original movie.

It could be just outside the great valley, or on a sort of border, though in some overhead shots of the Great Valley they show it surrounded with mountains.  I would guess if it is near the Great Valley, but not within it, it is near one of the main entrances to the Great Valley, maybe the one the combined herds used while LIttlefoot & the rest of the gang used a different entrance.  It may be one of the, f not the, main entrance far walkers use to get into the valley.

Saurus rock was seen in one of the TV episodes, wasn't it? And it was on the outskirts of the Great Valley (I might have gotten it mixed up with Threehorn peak).

I doubt the entrance to be found near Saurus Rock to be one frequently used by the leafeating dinosaurs. The region would be more likely to be "settled" then. Also the way into those secluded outskirts from the Great Valley doesn't seem to be an easy one, especially for fully grown dinosaurs.
Yes LBT, it was Saurus Rock in the TV series, but I must admit I don't remember the title of the episode that included this flashback.

Does it? Is its placement in "the starday celebration" in stark conflict with its placement in LBT 6?

Or is it that the gang head to the area from a different location?  That may confuse things, and we are not shown all the steps inbetween.

Perhaps it is a place near opening to Great Valley, where Sharpteeth come in and challenge the herd. Normally, the stronger Leaf Eaters do battle and add teeth to Saurus Rock. Just a thought.
