does Projekt Revolution count? It's an almost biannual tour Linkin Park hosts, this year it's Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Placebo, Julien-K; and on the other stage it's Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, Styles of Beyond, The Bled and Medina Lake; the concert is usually more than 7 hours, last time I went (2004) it was Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg, The Used, Less Than Jake; Ghostface Killah, Funeral For A Friend, Downset, M.O.P, Helmet, No Warning, Instruction, Autopilot Off, and Mike V & The Rats; not all of the "Revolution Stage" (smaller bands) played at the same concerts, and I really didn't see that stage, because it went on until even after the main stage started

Yup, I guess it counts as a summer festival. Last year I didn't go to any, this year I'll have to make up for it :D
I'm going to the Super Bock Super Rock festival in Lisbon in early july. Metallica are going to be there, but I'm not going on the day they play. On the day I'm going I'll see Arcada Fire, the Klaxons, and a few other bands that I can't remember. Other bands like Scissor Sisters and Bloc Party will also atend this festival.

I'm not a live concert person.  I've had opportunities to go a few times if I wanted and I declined each one, even if I knew the performer.  I don't like a lot of noise so a rock concert would be hell for me...I figure if I really want to hear the singer perform, a nice album where I can actually hear them and relax in a recliner is much more worthwhile.

I know some that have definitely gone to concerts and they say its loud and they have a blast, but I don't see the fun in it.

Are you kidding?? There's nothing like it, being in the crowd singing along to the songs you like =P Expecially when everyone starts jumping around :D

now, that may be true, but some of those same crowdgoers are the off-key type that make you not wanna be there

Well, a rock festival is a festival that usually lasts for a few days. A big stage, or several are set up in a deserted area. People go there, and bands play all night. Lots of people go there every day and just camp out. Like Woodstock or Rock in Rio.

I'm having a few trouble finding someone to go to the Super Bock Super Rock festival, I couldn't book a place in Lisbon because they're all sold out \: I know a few people who are going, but they're going the whole 3 days, and I just want to go to one, so I'll have to find a place to crash or someone to wait with me in the train station 'till morning... Oh well, let's wait and see...  <_<

Me too!  I hate loud noises.  I have had several dozen opportunities to go but I decided to stay home and repair computers each time.
