Title: Official Site and character logos
Post by: Highsoar on March 16, 2011, 08:53:27 PM
DOes the official site still exists? It's all over the Wiki, but doesn't turn up in searches. Is it defunct, as I fear? I think so, because it redirects to a Universal site.

And, does anyone have Ruby and Chomper's character logos from the site? They aren't in the Wiki, and I wanted to make a Firefox persona with them.

Thanks much.

If you mean the images from the website, they are on LBT wiki. Small, but they're there.

And the link doesn't work. It still redirects to Universal's site. :(

No, the website deceased about 1 year ago. I guess they didn't want to pay anymore for the hosting of the website, and instead they made it redirect to buy the DVD. But Adder shows the exact images that were on the website :)

It is kind of sad that apparently the studios consider themselves too financially strained to even host a webpage :wacko
I'm afraid there are very few among us who have seen and therefore can remember the official land before time page as it used to to be back in 2000 and 2001. It was quite well done with the sequels up to that time being arranged on a kind of path of the characters. Anyway, that original page has long passed on. I kind of regret that the design of that original page was not continued and expanded to include later sequels.

I remember that one. I even wrote a letter to Cera through that site (Tim must remember that :p)

You can find some of them here (http://hroman.wordpress.com/2007/04/24/the-land-before-time-and-the-toronto-raptors/). The quality isn't that great, however.

I was playing an archaeologist now, and I found a link where you can see the official site as it was in 1999.

http://replay.web.archive.org/199905080513...beforetime.com/ (http://replay.web.archive.org/19990508051316/http://www.landbeforetime.com/)

Everything is just like Malte described it. It felt so warm browsing through such an old site. It reminds me of the fantasy-related sites I visited on Geocities, when I was a kid.

And this is the link to to the site in 2009, a few days before it died.

http://replay.web.archive.org/200903160751...beforetime.com/ (http://replay.web.archive.org/20090316075142/http://www.landbeforetime.com/)?

The character logos weren't preserved, unfortunately.

Web Archive is one of the best sites on the Internet, period.
