Five fancharacters that I designed for a possible fanfic. I'm still unsure if I'll write the story or not. Sorry if I don't have a description for the characters, but I want to keep their personalities and their involvement in the story a secret.

And yes, their names are based on their species names.

Your characters are very well drawn. :yes
Segnosaurus, Kronosaurus, and a Troodon. But which species are Ateo and Gops?
Gops looks like a Giganotosaurus.
Are you going to include these sharpteeth characters in your LBT comic?
Segno and Troo are extremely colorful. They might have a hard time trying to hide in case this is necessary (not like either of them looks like they needed to hide from anybody, but in case they want to ambush any prey their colors would not help them).
Are the characters a "gang", separate characters (Kronos at least would have a heart time hanging around with the others all the time), or even rivals? Or are you not going to give theese details away?

Ateo is a Plateosaurus and Gops is a Rugops.

No. So far I have no plans on introducing fanmade characters in the comic. But I might change my mind.

I'm not sure why I colored Troo blue. But, if I remember correctly, the Troodon's main source of food were probably insects. And since they have large eyes, I think they might have been more nocturnal than diurnal. Just a guess though.

Segno, on the other hand, is not a predator. Segno is a therizinosaurus, a group of theropods who were all vegetarian, despite their raptor heritage.

No they're not a gang.

Great artistry! We're to be in for a treat if you do write the story, and if it's as good as your "promotional art". :DD

Okay, I will break it down and give you my opinion on all of them.

1. Segno - This looks really good! Got a really colourful dinosaur there! :D The only thing is I think there might be a little too many colours that don't all really go well with each other.

2. Ateo - Hmm, he really doesn't really remind me of a plateosaurus when I see him, no offense. Something just seems...off. I can't quite put my finger on it. Also, the colouring makes me need to squint a bit.

3. Kronos - This one I really like! You did a very good job! :D My only comment would be the way you drew the base of his tail. It should probably look more, oh how do I explain this, more like an extension of his body rather than another appendage.

4. Another good job here! :D There is really nothing I can say other than it's a very good job!  :DD I personally, am not one for big triangular spikes, but I am sure you can make them look good :)

5. Very good! Lovely colours here! He does look a bit...bulky for a troodon. (In my mind troodon are very slim creatures :p) Regardless, it is still a very good drawing!

Okay, all in all, I must say wonderful job! You have good drawings, and I know in the future you will only get better! :DD

I was originally going to make it a crossover fanfic, Land Before Time and Dink the Little Dinosaur. However I need access to some Dink episodes so I can understand the setting of that show better. I used to watch it as a kid, but it's been years since I've last seen it.

However I might end up changing my mind.

About its colors, I wanted to give it brightly colored feathers, and used the gradient option to create the effect. I'm not sure if I'll keep that look or change it.

I'm not sure why I made it black and white. I guess I thought Ateo would look good like that. For each of these characters, I did use a dinosaur book that I have to help. While drawing Ateo, I had a picture of Plateosaurus with me, so I could try and make it as accurate as possible.

Ah yes. I tried to make it look thinner, like an actual troodon. I even had a picture of a troodon to help me. But it still turned out a bit too.. fat. ^^;

Maybe the way the illustrator of the book depicted plateosaurus is much more different then I am used to :p

The claws perhaps? I don't doubt that sharp claws could come in handy for a leafeating dinosaur as well, but I don't think we ever saw a herbivore with real claws instead of the rounded down ones they usually have in the series. It may be the reason why I failed to recognize the Plateosaurus, but I'm not sure about it.

Actually, I believe plateosaurus somewhat sharp claws, but I think it may be the design of the feet. They were 4-legged creatures (Even though the could rear up).

Also, maybe it should be just...slightly bulkier. It looks a lot like a therapod dinosaur

I've looked at several pictures of Plateosaurus, and they do indeed have sharp claws, that they probably used for grasping. Sharp claws are not that uncommon among plant-eaters, from what I've seen.

Ateo is indeed a four-legger, but I drew it rearing up ont its hind legs because I felt that, if drawn on all fours, it would look too much like a sauropod, or even alimon, invented dinosaur species of mine.
