Title: Carmageddon 64 German version
Post by: Metro717 on June 29, 2018, 05:56:29 PM
Little Game fact/trivia that might be interesting here.
So there's this racing game called Carmageddon, being one of the most controversal games ever. To sum it up, the game's point is to cause gory havoc in an open world with crazy modified cars.
Naturally, the game has been censored in a few countries (and some outright banned it) Germany, for example, replaced the poor pedestrians with robots to make the game less controversal.
But that's not even the point. The game is later released to the Nintendo 64 console under the name Carmageddon 64. Censorship once again striked on it, only this time the German version replaced the pedestrians with.....wait for it......Dinosaurs. Yep yep yep.
Apperantly, somebody thought that killing fast biters, longnecks and threehorns are less violent than killing pedestrians.
And just imagine a sports car runing over a Triceratops (about the size of Topsy's) with relative ease. Just....why?

Here's a video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuPiIYaSCc8 (0:46)

(i even considered making a Live stream of the game because it's just so wrong and hilarious at the same time)
