The Fridge / Higher studies
« on: August 07, 2010, 06:50:40 AM »
No idea Malte. But I'm not going for the teacher line in the first place, it's the knowledge I want. What line I'll focus on is not dead set yet.

This program educates high school teachers, and I'm not sure that's a job I want.
As for teacher jobs in my country, I have no accurate clue.
I've read recently that the teacher line is quite good at the time, though that may change rapidly of course...

The Fridge / Higher studies
« on: August 07, 2010, 04:49:33 AM »
It's pretty much what the title says, I have to make a choice about my upcoming higher studies. University that is.
The main question right now is whether I shall begin my studies this autumn (namely in September) or take half a year off, dedicating myself to work and try to improve my grades for a better chance of application next spring.

As it looks now, after the applications for autumn 2010 have been given, I have three options:

1. Start studying in the Teacher's program focus English
2. Start studying in the Teacher's program focus communication, leadership and pedagogy.
3. Take half a year off and work, improve my grades and... just taking some time off.

Now, my grades from college aren't bad. In fact they're just about excellent, but sometimes you just have bad luck. Which is why I've only been applied for two programs this autumn, out of the five that I applied to.
My top two were Psychology and Social studies.
However, I've kind off turned down on Psychology.
Shall I take half a year off to improve my grades, it would be for the benefit of the Social Studies program.

Shall I decide to study in one of the Teacher's programs, it will be the second option above. It lies closest to what I'd like to study at the University.
If I haven't said it before, I want to work with people and their challenges in life, just not on such a deep level as a psychologist.

Taking half a year off would benefit my spare time as well, something I'd appreciate. But I'm TERRIFIED of getting "over-bored" and driven crazy with nothing to do!

I guess that's a brief overview of my situation.
What do you think? I'm turning to you for support and opinions.
However in the end, it's my choice of course.

10 years... Quite amazing to think about how much that happens during such a time span. Even for an LBT fan forum. :)

Congratulations on the anniversary Malte. :)

General Land Before Time / Save LBTXIV poll
« on: June 24, 2010, 05:32:42 PM »
Scrattelover2, take some time to look around on this forum and you'll find plenty of evidence and official sources proving that LBT is a closed merchandise.
Hoping is good, I can't blame you for that. But sometimes, we just have to bite the sour apple.
In addition, here's another truth:
There's no film company, in the whole world, that will invest in something that doesn't make a profit. Something LBT stopped doing a few movies ago.

This is why creating a poll for LBT XIV isn't a good idea.

This screams fake. It's all over it.
Wishful thinking is good, but one's gotta keep perspective. Especially on the net.

LBT Fanfiction / Thinking of starting with art markers
« on: May 31, 2010, 01:06:27 PM »
Howdy partners.

I know I haven't posted any art at all this year ( ) but that doesn't mean I've lost interest in the art of drawing. I blame school.
But now that I'll graduate within two days (!) I've promised myself to take it up again.
It feels like it's something I want to do. ^^
However, I want to try something new rather than sticking to the digital artworks.
Therefor, I've been keeping my eyes on coloring with art markers. (sort of a type of felt pen)
I've seen tones of art with this technique, and I must say I enjoy it and would like to give it a try.
Not sure what kind of makers I should get though, and I've heard that there are huge difference between brands.
At the time, I've come down to three brands, Prismacolor, TRIA and Copic.
Of these three, the Copics are the one most praised for their performance. They're also, the most expensive ones.
Been looking around at various discussion, and Copic usually ends up winning most things, though they're losing points because of their price...
Though, I like them. And thinking of giving them a try. They have, until now, been very hard to get.
But just recently, a new online store opened in my country. Penstore!
Penstore!
I couldn't have more luck. They sell both Copic and Tria, and to a FAR better price than other stores I've looked at. Feels extra safe that they're stationed in my country too.

Apart from markers, I need Multiliners for inking, good pencils for sketching, special paper and preferably a light-box, for transferring sketches to appropriate marker paper. I can get most of these things at various stores.
And a new desk lamp which I need anyway.
Sure, I'd stick to the digital as well. It will be needed for some corrections, and/or printing/scanning etc.

What do you think? I do not know if any other artists here have experience with markers, but if you do, I ask you kindly to give me your inputs. :)
Otherwise, you could tell me what you think.
I thought this would be fun, and I MUST have something more creative to attend to in my sparetime than video games when I start at the Uni next year.
Or I'll go nuts on myself.

There is one, it's in Final Fantasy X.  Not a weapon, but a move used by your aeon Yojimbo.  Problem is....I can't recall the name of the movie.  However, what it does it that it can kill any monster in one shot, no matter if it is a boss or not.

I had used the move on both Dark Shiva and Ultimate Weapon and killed them in the one slice of his sword.
Yeah, you mean Zanmato. I once paid like 100 Gil to him and achieved that. Not a bad deal.  :lol
Hmm, I have one... yes!

Something my mother got in her mail at work, which she shared with us around the dinner table last night.
--------------

The 6 year old and the 4 year old sits in their room, playing.
Suddenly, the 6 year old makes a proposal:

-Hey! I think you and I should start swearing!

The 4 year old agrees with commitment.

-Okay, so when we go down later to eat breakfast, I'll say something with f*ck in it, and you'll say something with damn in it?

-Yeah, let's do that! says the 4 year old.

Moments later, they're both called down to the kitchen, where their mother greets them.

-So, what'll you two have for breakfast today? she asks.

The 6 year old stands up and says:

-For f*ck sake mom! You know I always have oatmeal for breakfast!

The 6 year old is dragged down from his chair in seconds and gets a load lecture, the spankings and is sent to his room in tears.
Then the mother turns around to the 4 year old, hands to the sides and with strict expression.

-And what will YOU have!?

The 4 year old, terrified:

-I don't know mother! But you'll be damn sure it's not oatmeal!

--------------

Yeah, oatmeal is dangerous. :P:

Hello:
That is very cool, congratulations into passing math :DD .
But remember that you will never fully get rid of math... but at least you may not have it as heavy as the courses you had to pass, hehehe.
Thanks a bunch mateys! It really feels great. And now it's only 2 months left! :D

Iris: Sorry to hear that. I wished that I could quit caring about it back when it was tough. But I couldn't.

Chile: I'm not to worried, I'll take it as it comes. Thing is, the past few weeks I've been starting to find math kinda fun. But for now, it's all gone. :D
