Mine is easily explained. I was watching Stone of Cold Fire and saw this scene and had to take a screencap, mostly because the frame seemed to slow down here for a split second so I was like, "Petrie on Littlefoot's head is cuuuute!!"  :lol

The Fridge / whats it like?

Well, as I'm sure we're all aware of, I'm also one of the USA. I used to live in Florida, which had beautiful weather year-round, though my particular area was prone to droughts and whatnot. My town didn't have much to do in it when I left it. Bowling Alley. Wal-Mart and the lake...and that was really it. You had to drive about an hour in any direction either to get to the beach or to go somewhere interesting in general. I loved when it got cold there though...

For the past ten weeks I lived in Missouri, and I have to say that the weather there was more bi-polar than anything I've ever seen. I mean, one time after our company came out for chow the sky was baby blue and the moment we left the chow hall to go back to the barracks it was HAILING outside. I had never seen anything so crazy in all my life. And the MOMENT we got back into the barracks the sky was blue again.  :lol

Now I live in Texas and it's been triple-digit temperatures here since I got here last month. It's dry and dusty all the time and the wind is almost constantly blowing around here. The mornings are nice though and good weather for exercise.  :lol  I'm enjoying it here alot more than I was in Missouri, mostly because the weather is somewhat constant and not deciding on what to do everyday like a child trying to choose between buying Skittles or M&M's.

The dialect has changed everywhere I've gone as well. Euphemisms change with each border I cross, and I find myself adapting newer and different phrases with each place I go to. Like...a phrase for being unable to go any further, especially when it involves like physical training and things like that, people would say things like, "Oh man, that run broke me off." Stuff like that. Also the use of the words to refer to something that will be unpleasant such as, "Not the one you want." Alot of it is just Army jargon too, like things that are new, or different, or are just kinda of dumb because they're new or different; this especially applies to equipment or clothes that have neat little features on them and stuff like that. We refer to stuff like that as "High-speed."  :lol  It's actually funny, especially when you hear a Drill Sergeant use it.

Really the only thing I can say is different about where I live is not necessarily the place, but rather the organization I live in. Things are very to-schedule here, but at the same time, because we're in a secondary training environment things tend to be more relaxed than what they were in basic. I mean, I actually have my weekends to myself for the first time in ten weeks and I can walk around without having to have some higher-ranking person follow me around. I don't live in a room with eleven other guys in it anymore. I can change my uniform whenever our duty hours are over...

I've also done alot of things I've never really done before while I was in basic. Like shooting a freakin' grenade launcher. That was fairly awesome.  :p  I know that's gonna get some stereotype-talk thrown at it. Also, this is probably gonna sound really odd, but going through the gas chamber was pretty fun. You blow alot of snot and cough you're brains out and your mouth and eyes burn like you wouldn't believe, but it was one of the best days I had the whole time in Basic. Mostly because when I came out the other side, I realized that I couldn't speak correctly no matter how hard I tried to articulate any kind of coherent speach, and even though my body was telling me that everything was wrong with my breathing, my nose, my mouth, and my eyes, I found it entertaining that I couldn't speak correctly at all. XD

Otherwise, I just wanna say that America isn't the greatest, but it's pretty alright despite some corrupt things and some stereotyped things. S'allright.

( Also about stereotypes, just wanna say I don't support any, though I think alot are funny. ) <--- The parantheses represent the opinion bubble.

Well...Littlefoot, really. I try to do what's right, try to be the good guy, but not necessarily the leader, though the position seems cut out for me in the end.
Though, like Littlefoot, I tend to get in trouble while trying to do right, though I go back and try to make up for it.

That and I've just connected with the little longneck ever since I could possibly remember.

I'm planing to join the Airforce so Airfoce Basic is not that different from army basic from what i've read.
Uhm....YES, Air Force Basic is VERY different from Army Basic. See, Army Basic is like 9+ weeks long. The Air Force only has a 6 week basic training, and if I'm not mistaken they don't really do a lot of rifle-shooting, but please don't quote me on that. The Air Force physical fitness exams are less strenuous as the Army's as well. I don't know that much about it, but what I do know is that they run a two mile like we do, but it's not timed like ours. So, if I was told correctly, you basically pass the finish line successfully and that's that. But, again, don't quote me word for word. But yes, the Army and the Air Force are quite quite quite different.

As for LBT, I've only found one other person whose really got any interest in it, but it's nothing like my own.

As for Kor's questions: The heat here sucks right now, but I'm glad the weather here is constant rather than Bi-Polar like it was in Missouri. And I like to talk about stuff...that's interesting...? : D

Allright, well. Here's the deal. I graduated basic training as of around May 15th so now I'm in Texas. To be blunt, this is still a training environment, but it's more like college. We have a lot more freedom than we do in basic training, like getting our weekends off for example. We're still just in training, so if we do screw something up or get into trouble it can be bad on the arms and chest if you follow my meaning.  :lol  Anyhow, I'm here to learn my job that I picked for my time of service. I can't say much about what it is though, I would be violating my branch as well as my contract.

All I can really say is that I really haven't felt this physically fit before.
For our fitness test we have to do two minutes of sit-ups, two minutes of push-ups and run two miles. They have standards for each event and for Basic we had to do at least 50% in each trial, in this new place called AIT (Advanced Individual Training, yeah the Army likes acronyms), we have to do like 60% or 70%, I can't really remember. All I know is that I was performing well above the AIT standard while I was still in Basic, which was quite the delightful surprise.

I'm on casual status now...I have been for almost three weeks and I have yet to gain more civilian priviliges back yet. x_x I'm waiting for my classes to start too...which has been a real drag on my mind since all of my LBT goodness is on my new laptop, which is locked up in the Staff Duty office. x . x

Either way, I've been pretty content with myself as of late.
Oh yeah, I know this sounds weird, but if someone really wants to like talk on the phone or something and doesn't live out of Country from me, I'm willing to give up my cell number... I get bored on the weekends and I could use someone to talk to. >.> So yeah, I'll give you a note with that in it if you really feel up to just randomly talking with someone. :p As for the rest of you who think that the idea is positively weird, I apologize for the confusion in your brain. I just work like that.

I ran three miles this morning with my entire battalion. 500+ people in formation...It was fun.  :lol

Hey guys!!! I survived basic training! I'm kinda sorta back for now. Don't get too much on the details, but I have internet and a way to see all of you again, so I am happier than I was about three days ago. ^_^

This is a very difficult situation.
Is it certain that you will be sent to Iraq?
We mustn't allow anyone to make the topic a taboo! Who wants it to be a taboo for which reasons?

Well, it just seems like people don't want to talk/think about it to me.  But as far as going over there being set in stone? No. The Army is simply under an any-time-necessary worldwide deployment rule. So, when my twenty-eight weeks in Texas are over I could end up anywhere in the world for my first work post. Germany, Puerto Rico, Korea, Japan, Belgium, or even Italy to name a few places. But, like I said, it just depends on where they need me, so I have an equal chance of going state-side as I do going overseas. Though honestly, I hope I do end up overseas... Italy would be quite a nice place to visit. Heck, I'd love to travel to any of those places, just to say I have. I'll be as safe as I can though. Thanks guys.   :^.^:

I apologize for my absence everyone. I've been preparing myself for military life. Yes, that's right. I've been sworn into the United States Army.

No, I'm not going to be infantry.
Yes, I might have to go overseas to a certain place that has become taboo to talk about in such situations on other parts of the net.

I'll be reporting for basic training on the 28th of this month. Nine weeks will I spend in Missouri, and then Twenty-eight weeks of Career Skill training at an Air Force Base, and then three years of wherever it is that they will post me.

So, unfortunately, I must take a premature leave of you, my fellow GoF Members.

I will think about you when I'm on my belly in Basic, and when I'm training at the Air Force Base, and all during my three years.

I will try my best to pop on and say "Hi" if and when I can, but this will probably be the last you'll see from me for a long time.

I am very glad to have discovered you GoF, and it is now, sadly, that I must say Adieu.

Yeah...that is true...

He still looks funny though. P:

34
I know I saw...but it didn't really matter to me because I didn't like her as much as I liked Hyp...

He just doesn't seem as mean and nasty without that more boxy head, and I think it is an injustice to his character for being drawn that way when he was perfectly fine before...

I mean, without Hyp we wouldn't have "Kids Like Us".

35
WHAT HAPPENED TO HIP'S FACE!?!

Oh my gosh...

He looks like a flat-toothed crocodile. <_<

I liked everything about it so far...I've been watching it thanks to landbeforetimelover's link...but this saddens me more than spilled ice cream...And that's saying something because I really like ice cream!!!! :cry

Just...just...just...
