Wow, what can i say, except that after about 1 year of being absent i've finally returned. Though i have been pretty busy with college, work, and getting back into world of warcraft, i have to admit that my interest in LBT dropped after the studio closed down. But i got back into it after my friend wanted to have a LBT marathon (if it can really be called that. We planned to watch 6 movies one day, and the other 7 the next. Ended up being 6 the first day, 3 the second, 2 the third, 1 the fourth, and we never even saw the 13th one since i didn't own it).
Now before i go one about changes in my life, i want to say thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday this april. My birthday marked my 3rd year of being a member of the GoF (Not a very good start if i do say so myself :DD ).
Alright moving on. I am now 20 years old. I've finished my 2nd year in college and moved out of my house to live in Edmonton to finish the remaining 2 years of my degree in Computer Science at the University of Alberta (one of the reasons why i wanted to watch all the LBT movies since i left them all behind (except the first one of coarse)).
Well thats about everything that happened and i'm glad to be back after all this time. Oh and for everyone that joined within the past year, hello and welcome to the GoF! :lol

Glad to have you back. I wondered what you had gotten yourself into. Sounds like college is going good for you. Hope you continue to visit here.
-
Yea i hope i stay around as well. My activity on this site seems to be quite inconsistent.
-
Hey, I believe I remember seeing you around briefly :smile
Welcome back! Oh man, World of Warcraft... I haven't picked that game up in ages! I oughtta dust it off one of these days.
-
Welcome back with us :)
Must be awesome to have a nearby living friend who would want to take an LBT marathon. Did you invite him or her to the GOF? He or she might enjoy this place too :yes
-
Hi, Flathead770! :wave Great to see that you're back! (I can't remember if you were still around at the time I joined.) And a belated congrats on your GOF triennial! :smile

I hope you can remain a regular or semi regular also.
I heard some folks call that MMO warcrack. I guess the way it can be addicting to some, or long amount of time some spend there.

Honestly, i was quite surprised myself. I don't think he would want to join the gof, he was getting pretty sick of the after the the first day. Oh and i also screwed up, we watched 6 movies the first day, 3 the second, 2 the third, and 1 on the fourth day, the reason being that my friend couldn't watch anymore.

Yea it can be pretty bad sometimes, though other times i can't stand playing it. It was pretty bad before though, especially since my supervisor at my job played it also so we talked about it a lot at work. I don't play as much anymore, so i think i got my addiction under control :smile
Thehe... how I missed seeing your avatar.
Yea i forgot how awesome it was.

Hello:
And welcome back!

Well I think it's about time I give this another shot. For the last seven years I had pretty much lost interest in LBT with the series being dropped and dealing with school. I had even completely forgot about the GoF as well until the facebook group posted about the announcement of the 14th movie almost 2 years ago. It wasn't until one closing shift in April that I was working when I decided to check to see if this site still even exists or is active, mostly out of boredom and curiosity. I was happy to see it still kicking around as well as seeing some familiar faces. The real kicker for me though was finding out that I first joined this community just over 10 years ago, that's when I started to reflect fondly on some of the things I was apart of. Whether it was the singing projects, multi-player testing Action9000's game (and all of us typing in the lyrics to big water), and goofy things like playing LBT themed Jeopardy to name a few. I was tempted that night to log on and make this post but I was worried that it would be a repeat of 2010 where I became active again for a short time then disappeared. I felt like I had find a way to help keep interest in the series other than just having a new movie recently come out.
Luckily an idea had already come up naturally with getting back into drawing. It just never clicked in my mind at first since I had never really bothered with the fan art section. The idea first started earlier this year when my friend and I decided to draw up our own yu-gi-oh cards after talking about how we used to draw them when we were in grade 8. So I chose to make an entire LBT themed deck and after drawing around 50 of them (40 is a standard yu-gi-oh deck size) I still felt like drawing more. I'm planning on making a post on showing all the cards I drew as soon as I get things organized as well as posting somewhat more traditional drawings in the future if anyone is interested. I'm hoping that this will help draw me back and sustain interest.
On a completely random note, my best friend (and also the person who first helped get me back into LBT) just recently celebrated his son's first birthday and I gave him all my LBT movies that I owned on DVD so here's hoping his son loves the movies as much as I did (and do)!
I've been lurking on this site now for almost a week now contemplating writing this post and I am happy to finally do it. I hope to stay at least somewhat active in the future. 3rd times the charm, right?

Hi!
Welcome back!
How was LBT14 for you?
Feel free to post your drawings. lbt themed cards sound very cool!

Hi Flathead! ^^spike
Wow, I've been here for over 4 years now and still I meet new people from the earlier times of the forum! Most people who announce returning sadly vanish as soon as they reappear again, I really hope that won't be the case here. :smile
A drawing project? Hell yeah, I wanna see that! :)littlefoot

Welsome back, yet again :smile
It's always good to see new fanart!
-
It's always great to see old members returning! :) I hope you'll have a great time here and feel free to share your art with us. :yes
-
Welcome back, Flathead! :)littlefoot It is always a good day when an old member returns to the forum.

Thanks everyone, I'll do my best.
How was LBT14 for you?
I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I was pleasantly surprised that they kept Ruby and Chomper in the movie, albeit only minor roles. I thought that they might have ditched them so I'll take any continuity I can get. I also like how they took the time to narrate important parts from 10 to catch people up. The whole journey felt like Littlefoot telling others not to be dumb and then they ignore him and bad things happen (not trying to be negative, more funny than anything). Cera and Littlefoot fight felt re-hashed but it's almost been a decade so I can let that slide. The final teamwork segment rescuing Bron was cool. As for songs, Today's the Day served as a decent as an introduction to the main characters. Hot and Stinky was good as far as light-hearted songs go. My friend and I laughed more than we probably should have for them singing about being hot and stinky. Who Needs Friends was meh, Look for the Light was good but not that memorable for me (felt the same way with Etta as well).

Yep, I noticed the same thing when digging through the welcome center to find this old post. Definitely fighting an uphill battle.

Welcome back. :)littlefoot
I wasn't a part of this forum when you were active, but still.
Hope you'll enjoy your time here.

Great to see you again.

Thanks RockingScorpion. Good to see you again Kor and Darkwolf91 (and Sovereign? Your name and avatar look very familiar but it says you joined in 2011. Maybe I just left soon after you joined? I can't remember). Good to see your still using the same avatar Kor, I forgot how awesome that picture is. :DD

I was very inactive those days. To be honest, I don't remember seeing you around during my early times but I may be wrong. :) I used no avatar back then and I took my current one only this year. Still, it's nice getting to know you better this time. :yes

Likewise. Yea my memory is pretty hazy so I could easily be thinking of someone else.

@Flathead770: Ooh, were these ever posted anywhere?
-
I see you did a little digging :p
You bet they were! Right here (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=15553.0)! They were basically what got me to start drawing fanart in the first place. Don't expect anything fancy though as there's not really any shading or colouring done to them.
-
Well I still think they're very nicely designed. Good work. The "Convenient Boulder" card made me lol.
-
Yeah my friend and I joke how there's always some giant rock placed somewhere right when they need it. Glad you liked them!
-
Once again StardustSoldier, thanks for unraveling another thread once again. Flathead770, you never cease to amaze me with your fanart. :yes
-
Thanks! It would be great to see some art from the both of you as well! Just gotta keep at it and you'll see improvement!
-
Perhaps eventually Flathead770. I have been thinking about fanart, I just don’t know when I’ll do one, and it will be for fun too.
-
For fun is the name of the game of course! No need to rush into it.

Welcome back with us :)

I second that. I wish I could LBT marathon with a friend and fan.

Well to be clear we never did end up finishing it in one sitting. I think the best we did was the first 6 movies before calling it quits (though we did end up watching them all). But yeah it certainly is nice to watch them with someone in person. I got lucky with watching them with some of my friends back in the day as it happened naturally when we would decide to watch old VHSes that were collecting dust. I remember it wasn't even me who picked out LBT to watch haha.
