Very beautiful :)
I'm looking forward to seeing more LBT fanart from you :yes
Thanks Malte. :D

I got plans for a sketch now. hmmm.... would anybody be interested in a sketch of Ali and Chomper? I think the two should have had more conversation in The Brave Longneck Scheme, even though its not my fav episode, I still think it be a cool sketch.

For Chomper references, you can find many pictures of him on pokeplayer website in the picture section and on this board in the Captions section.

And if this is a drawing made just for fun, i just cant imagine what could look like a pro-drawing... Its just hard to say if this is Ali or Littlefoot without the color, but anyway: this is very well draw !

Oh and... Its probably because i'm sleepy, but i see a car engine at the base of the volcano <_<
Yeah, I think I fracked up somewhere when drawing her. probley should have made the eye lashes more prominant. but then again. Littlefoot and Ali are verry easy (atleast to me) to get confused with eachother. infact ducky says she sees 'Two Littlefoots' so I'm sure even the LBT charactors themselfs get confused easily. luckily one can realise whose who. Ali has blue eyes and Littlefoot has Brownish Red (are they red or are they brown? ).

and thats not a car ingen (cours NOW in kinda looks like it from how I see it now). its the Ark from G1 Transformers. as I said. I throw stuff like that in for fun. I'm not implying a crossover or anything. just for fun.

hey everybody, I hope to draw some sketchs of LBT charactors. I must warn ya'll that I will mostly be drawing Ali (then again theres not enough of fanart of her   :( , but I plan to fix that :) ) also some of them might have stuff from other franchises in it. (Mainly done on perpose of for fun. besides. drawing is Supposed to be fun. :p and don't worry, the pics will always be focused on our favorite dinos :p )

so, heres my first sketch, no surprise, its Ali. :p

Enjoy.

I plan to draw more of her. as well as some other charactors. I'm realy wanting to draw Chomper. but I'll have to get alot of referance pics of him. and I can barely find any pics of him (same with Ali). if anybody know where I can get some pics of the charactors let me know. I'll save 'em and stock them in a respective folder.

and again, enjoy. :)

LBT Fanfiction / Grandpa Longneck vs Tornetar!
« on: September 21, 2010, 11:42:16 PM »
Quote from: Pangaea,Sep 21 2010 on  09:10 PM
Wow! :wow This is awesome!

I have to say Tornetar looks much scarier in this version (though he doesn’t have that fantastic drool :p). His glowing eyes and the reddish area around his mouth make him look very menacing, and I like it that we can see the detail of his spikes and armor.

Grandpa Longneck looks good too, but his outline looks kind of strange for some reason, and his colors seem a little off (his spinal ridge doesn’t look dark enough compared to his body color, and his underside looks too blue). To me it also seems harder to fully appreciate some of the detail on him, namely in his face.

The colors in this version look excellent. In addition to Tornetar’s color palette, I love the colors of the ground and the sky. :yes That said, it looks like Nathair miscolored the area in front of Tornetar’s ankle (The line in front of it was actually an erased line, but it looks like he thought it was part of the outline of a rock or something). He also missed filling in the background color in two spots between Tornetar’s hand claws, and another little triangle of background between Tornetar’s stomach, leg, and tail. Finally, I think those other eraser marks should probably have been colored over or otherwise removed. (Do you have Photoshop or any other program that would enable you to edit scanned pictures and get rid of eraser marks?)
The picture was always intended to be dark. thats why you can't see GL face too well.

also there is indeed a rock behind tornetars foot but it was intended to be the skinny kind. I knew nobody figure it out. but I left it like it was anyways. it was hard for Nathair to color such small areas like the places around Tornetars hands and under his belly. and its such a small detail its easy to forgive the mistake.

I don't have photoshop. way too expensive. also, even if I did I'd leave thoughs eraser marks as they are. besides, its too hard to remove such things like eraser marks because they can even be in the charactors themselfs. besides I rather like to think it gives the sketch atmosphere.

also, its hard to find any good source reference of Grandpalongneck. so I told Nathair bout the only think that should be fixed is Grandpa's base coat. the underbelly never realy bothered me.

Hey everybody. I asked my bro Nathair if he can put the sky in the background for me. and he said he will. then he asked if he can completely color the original and I let him. and I must say. the resault is fantastic. and completely captures the fight scene between the two way better then when it was just a sketch. here it is.

I have to give lots of credit to my bro Nathair for coloring it. he did a wonderful job and captured my vision wonderfuly.

enjoy.

oh, and if anybody is interested, here is a linky to Nathair's DA page. you can look at all of his fantastic work.

the Cephelogalionus is able to change color like a real squid.
Yeah, but does it have a sort of “default” coloration? Like how a tree-dwelling chameleon is usually green, a giant squid is red, a loligo squid is opalescent white, etc.?
I never realy colored it. so I don't quite know.

OH! btw, I did color the Carchagalionus sketch. I kinda bluthed it color wise. looks like he ended up in the wrong franchise. lol poor guy.

lol heres the pic.

looks like he got sucked into a dimentional rift and ended up in the LBT Universe. lol. I still love the creature though. lol my GF thinks hes cute.

lol if you look closely at its side. you can see some Alien writing. wich is translated to 'Bite Me'.
:lol Is that the name of that particular ship (the Bite Me? :p), or more like a bumper sticker for other ships to read?

The SPORE version of the ship is incredible. Those are some nice screenshots. I wish I was that creative at making ships on SPORE.

Cephalogalionus is awesome. :smile (I'm guessing you got the name from “cephalopod”.) The sheer detail is incredible. I love its patterns, especially on the tentacles. What colors do you envision it as having?

You do an amazing job translating the SPORE designs into realistic-looking pictures. Profounigalionus looks particularly good; I love how you drew its head, hands, feet, and tail. The head, back, and tail are what I like most about the Carchagalionus (I love the eyes). And your little close-up drawings of the various body parts are great. :yes
As for the Bite Me writing, I'm guessing some crew members desided to write that on the side for fun. this ship in particular is called the Redemption. the ship I use for Carchagalionus on SPORE is called the Regret. I got one in mind for my fic, it'll be called The Pegesus.

its easy to be creative on spore. you should have seen the very first ship I made. I had no idea of how to use the controls like I do now. I always like to give space ships lights and flood lights to give them a more realistic look.

the Cephelogalionus is able to change color like a real squid.

as for the sketchs of the creatures themselfs. yeah in spore the detailing and what not is rather limited. but the sketchs I feel I should expand on their designs.

hate to triple post. but eh. its all for a good reason. anyways I looked around in my Photobucket album, and I found the sketchs of three of the Galionus Species I did.

here is the mighty Cephelogalionus. the true originator of the galionus species. it evolved into Unigalionus. it was ten times bigger then any Giant Squid or Spermwhale.

Carchagalionus. still one of my personal favorite galionus species.

and Profounigalionus.

I hope to draw more of the Galionus species. their one of the greatest creatures I came up with. and I think they are defenantly worth having a fiction created and expanded for them.

I also finished the Galionus Battle Cruiser for Profounigalionus. I will sketch it first then post it. I still haven't gotten to making the Warship for the Komodogalionus quite yet.

its facing the right way. (interestingly enough, I usualy draw my creatures facing left (their Right) but here I sketched it facing right(its left)) the spikes are under its bow. the 'Heal' is attached to the stern.

lol if you look closely at its side. you can see some Alien writing. wich is translated to 'Bite Me'.

I'll have to take a pic in the creator. sence you don't have spore to view the whole ship.

I got Profounigalionus and Komodogalionus star ships to create now.

thinking a Komodogalionus Warship would probley be more of a cylidrical shape.

Ah. Well, it's not a huge deal if you can't upload it. I was just interested to see a full-sized version if one happened to be readily available.

Quote
Brachiogalionus is warmblooded because if it was cold blooded it would need to stay out in the sun to stay warm. and its so big. so finding shade would be difficult for it. the plates on its back are just there for mating an intimadation. not for heating and cooling down its body.
At its size, though, it wouldn’t need to worry much about staying warm; its greatest threat would be overheating. Cold-blooded or warm-blooded, its muscles would generate heat just from being moved around, and once the entire animal was warmed up, it would take a LONG time for its body temperature to drop. (Leatherback sea turtles are technically cold-blooded, but because they’re very large, are almost constantly active, and have a layer of fat that retains heat, they can swim in waters as far north as the Arctic Circle.)

I did a sketch of Profounigalionus too. btw most of the names these Galionus have are both based after dinosaurs And because of their look and or their features. Unigalionus for instance was named because it is the first galionus. (Uni - Uno, Spanish meaning ONE) . Profounigalionus was givin its name due to its unique mouth design (Profouni meaning Foul Mouthed). Megagalionus at the time was created Before Brachiogalionus. and was thought to be the largest land predator until Brachiogalionus was discovered. Megagalionus litteraly means the Mega Beast. Brachiogalionus was named after Brachiosaurus (or Brontosaurus, or Apatosaurus, wichever you prefer) due to it having a longer neck then most galionus species. Komodogalionus was named after the Komodo Dragon.

the Carchagalionus was named after the dinosaur Cacharadontosaurus.

and ofcourse, Tyrannogalionus (Tyrant Beast) was named after the Tyrannosaurus Rex. although. Tyrannogalionus could easily kill and eat a T-rex without breaking a sweat.
Thanks. I was actually going to ask where you’d gotten the names for the Galionus species (though I had a pretty good guess for all but Profounigalionus). Just wondering: what were your reasons for giving Komodogalionus and Carchagalionus those particular names?

Quote
Brachiogalionus was named after Brachiosaurus (or Brontosaurus, or Apatosaurus, wichever you prefer) due to it having a longer neck then most galionus species.
Brontosaurus is the same as Apatosaurus, but Brachiosaurus is a completely different kind of sauropod, so I’ll go with Brachiosaurus. (“Brontogalionus” might be just as apt, as it would mean “Thunder Beast”, a reference to its voice and footsteps. :p)
I uploaded the size chart on DA. seems to suffer the same problem of being sized down. I suggest just asking me to email it to you if you prefer.

oh as for its body temprature. when I invisioned Brachiogalionus, I invisioned it near a lake. also all Galionus are able to swim so yeah.

As for the Naming of Carchagalionus and Komodogalionus, Carchagalionus was named because I always liked the Carchadontosaurus. so I named Carchagalionus after the dinosaur. Komodogalionus was originaly at one time in its evolution four legged. and was extremely large. so when I was naming it, I desided to name it after the great Komodo dragon. it was originaly gonna be named after Dimetrodon. but I desided to save that for a galionus that has a sail on its back. as for Komodogalionus, I kept the name because I realy liked it.

Apt?

OH! btw, I been expanding a great deal on the Galionus species. and have made a space craft for the Carchagalionus Empire. I will post it as soon as I complete its sketch. I DID however made a SPORE version of the ship. Profounigalionus's Ship and Komodogalionus's Ships are gonna be made real soon. then I'll begin a fiction about the Carchagalionus being at war with the Komodogalionus, and the two alien forces crashland on earth. it'll be alot like G1 Transformers. only the Galionus species aren't looking for energy. but instead a new food source.

anyways, the ship I am sketching now is a Carchagalionus Capital Ship.

LBT Fanfiction / The Ankylosaurus Brothers
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:29:43 PM »
hey everybody here is a sketch of one of the ankylosaur Brothers from my Fanfiction, The Bite Of Tornetar. I am doing a sketch of them both. to help give readers an idea of how they look.

when I sketched these guys I desided to stick with my own style then going along with the LBT style.

here is Tosk...

Tosk was one of the two Ankylosaurus Brothers introduced in the second part of my Fanfiction 'The Bite Of Tornetar' that was based on The Land Before Time Franchise.

Tosk is considered by many of the Great Valley Dinosaurs as the most intelegent. he prefers to think of ways to avoid fighting. but if he felt it is nessicary he will fight with no fear. he prefers to think things through and is often the one coming up with ideas. Tosk and his Brother Thialog fought Tornetar in Part 2 the Rise Of The Terrorsaurus. wich the two Ankylosaurs debuted.

enjoy

no, I mean the first sketch i did of Rahl. yeah I colored it. go to page one, look at the first sketch I did of rahl and on that post you'll find I did a colored version of it. I wish I did a better job with it though.
Oh. I thought you said the final version of her would probably have different colors. :o

I realy think it needs to be rethought. so I'm gonna put it aside for a while. I am getting some flack about it with my co-Writer, who I don't think wants to work with me anymore about it. but you know. its just one of thoughs things.
Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. I'd still be happy to help you out if you'd like (though I don't know if I could be a full-time co-writer, given the ever-decreasing amount of free time I have nowadays ). If it's not too general a question, what parts or aspects of the story that you've shared so far do you think need to be changed or redone?

By the way, just a general statement I'd like to make: I'm sorry if the critique I leave on your work ever gets annoying or frustrating. It's just my style of giving feedback; pointing out what I think is good about the material I'm reviewing, and what I think could be better. I do it because I like the art/writing and care about it, and want to help its creator make it as good as it can possibly be. I always want to avoid coming off as nosy, pushy, or otherwise irritating in my attempts to be helpful, but I can never tell when I'm going too far, since everyone has a different threshold. So please don't hesitate to tell me if I'm ever crossing that boundary, so I know to modify my reviewing style so that I don't upset you.

Quote
but yeah colorful dinosaurs I like best. mainly because you can get such vivid ideas for their colors. I always liked purple on a dinosaur. mainly cuz its one of my favorite colors. that along with black red and sage. oh and green.
One of the things that bugs me about shows like Walking With Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park is that I don't think they make their dinosaurs colorful enough. :p Not that they're bad shows, but I wish they'd stop painting their dinosaurs with mammalian color palettes, and start looking more at the colors of birds and reptiles for inspiration. They are the dinosaurs closest relatives, after all, and dinosaurs probably did have good color vision like them. Not to mention that practically every dinosaur with an unusual or prominent characteristic (horns, frills, sails, crests, feathers, spikes, even armor) has been stamped with the hypothesis that it used that feature for display and communication, like a peacock's train or a chameleon's skin.
well originaly yeah. but I am starting to like that color choice.

if I need any help on anything it'll probley be spelling. but you know. and its the whole story that is being changed and redone.

WWD and JP had great dinos. I just wish they had more color on them.

Yes, I did see a picture of a squidlike creature with “Galionus” in its name in your Photobucket gallery. Also a drawing of a Carchagalionus, I think. Both looked very nice. Are you going to post those here? :)

What if you uploaded it to DeviantArt? That way everyone else could see it too.

I don't quite know what type of blood the galionus species are. some are warm blooded others are cold. the Brachiogalionus I can defenantly say is warm blooded. therefor, it eats alot. its an omnivore too.
Why do you see Brachiogalionus in particular being warm blooded, just out of curiosity?
I tried putting it on DA. but the upload would always time out. I'll try it again tonight though.

when I draw a Galionus, I always like to keep Biomechanoid, Insectoid, and Saurian in mind. so they will always have that biomechanoid/insectoid dinosaur look. and I thought I did posted the pics on GOF. if not I'll post them here in this thread.

I got plans to do some sketchs where the LBT dinos meet a Galionus species (possibly a Carchagalionus sence they aren't as dangeroud when encountered, only when it feels threatened that it'll attack). lol the thing will still drawf the dinos though. it won't have anything to do with my fanfic though.

Brachiogalionus is warmblooded because if it was cold blooded it would need to stay out in the sun to stay warm. and its so big. so finding shade would be difficult for it. the plates on its back are just there for mating an intimadation. not for heating and cooling down its body.
