New dinosaur species discovered

A new species of dinosaur was recently discovered in southern Chile. This newly discovered dinosaur is part of the ankylosaur family and is officially called "Stegouros". What makes this species very distinctive is that its tail is lined by a series of wide blades, resembling those war clubs that were used by Aztec warriors.



For those of us here in the LBT fandom, I sure would like to see someone write a fanfic that includes an appearance of one of these strange new dinos. We've seen Spike-tails and Club-tails, but a Blade-tail would definitely be a new one.

Hmmmm.... now that does sound like a good idea for a fanfic prompt...  I will add it to next year's list.

That's super cool. Hopefully he starts appearing in dinosaur media, cause he's got a very distinctive feature that'd help him stand out from the crowd

I agree with @aabicus (LettuceBacon&Tomato) — it would be cool to see this species earn a place among the “mainstream” dinosaurs! I think he’d be able to hold his own!

And @rhombus that could work great for a fanart prompt, too!
