Okay, so anyone who's been keeping up with the schedule on CN's website hasn't been seeing anything on the LBT front for a long while now. But, hold on to your hats, they're airing Spooky Nighttime Adventure and The Lone Dinosaur Returns on the 7th and 8th of January, respectively.
http://schedule.cartoonnetwork.com/xmlServ...me&timezone=EST (http://schedule.cartoonnetwork.com/xmlServices/ScheduleServices?methodName=mainSchedule&showId=326696&title=Land%20Before%20Time&name=Land%20Before%20Time&timezone=EST)
Now, after holding off on airing anything, even reruns, for the past few months, then dropping this on us from nowhere,(which has happened before (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=1890&hl=)) , you have to wonder: "What the HELL is going through the minds of the people over at the Cartoon Network?" Sadly, the answer is probably "Not a damn thing". Let's hope they wise up and put the series on a stable timeslot.
-
We can hope but they may not do so. That is one of the many reasons I don't miss cable, since since the days when I had it it's gotten worst, including all the channels I use to watch.
-
It's great to see they're airing more eps even if they are reruns. Perhaps Universal got more money from the tv DVD's than they thought they would. Thanks to everyone who bought a legal copy. :yes
-
13 episodes doesn't exactly equate to a regular timeslot....you need more.
-
There are more than 13 tv episodes Petire. There are 24, I believe. There are 13 movies (the original and the 12 sequels). I think they're gonna come out with many more LBT tv eps. They're probably just waiting until the next year. I mean, who wants to work so close to christmas and new years?
-
I was about to say... Only 13? 13 tv epesodes and 13 movies.. that seems like a most unlucky number if you ask me
-
Actually, this bumps it up to 16.
-
A DTV movie does not equal a tv series episode.
-

Actually, we were both wrong. There are 26 tv episodes in all:

Just like in the last topic, I was referring to the number of episodes CN has aired/will be airing.
And now, it's up to 17. Stranger from the Mysterious Above, January 9th. Looks like we might be getting a week of "new" episodes from the 7th to the 11th. Yay.
-
Hermit of Black Rock, January 10th; Cartoon Network seemingly regains some semblance of brain activity.
-
Lets hope it continues and they show the other episodes that they have not shown before.
-
I merely think they will show the the 13 episodes they have not aired previously... I doubt there will be a second season, but that's just me..
-
I hope there will be, but we'll have to wait. If a series is moved around and such like I heard this one was that is a bad indication. Perhaps cartoon network didn't really care about it since they do not own it. Not sure how other places treat it in other countries. It may wind up like eagle riders. It showed only a few episodes here but the were all shown in Australia I heard.
-
I agree with Nick22. I don't think they'll have a second season. It doesn't seem to have been such a huge success with all the moving around they've been doing and all the problems they've been having. Besides, if it really was such a great success, they would have them all out on DVD by now. I mean, they already have the eps. They just have to put them onto DVD's, which isn't hard at all.
-

I disagree.
-
Makes me sort of wonder if there was some higher ups who changed around, or the deal for the series was made before they knew about it and they moved it around so it would fail. I read somewhere, that is what cbs did with the flash series, bought it so it would fail but no one else would get it.
To bad the folks who are in charge of LBT did not go the route that some go, syndication, like the Xena and Hercules series did. No network could cancel their show, gave them much more freedom. I think going with a single network is not very intelligent, though I know everyone will disagree with me, I don't really care.
-
It doesn't cost much to burn the disks. If they thought it would be profitable, they would have done it. The only reason they wouldn't is if they didn't think they were going to make enough money or if they had some sort of legal or licensing trouble.
-
Likely making a dvd is pretty cheap.
-
I'm sure it costs a lot to make hundreds, thousands, maybe millions of copies though. :p
I mentioned the show to dad sometime ago, last year I think, before the show premiered. Dad, right away, didn't like it, claiming they should have made the show in the mid-90s.
-
I wonder if that would have made any difference. I wonder if there is no season 2 if they'll continue to make movies or will stop.
-
I'm sure it costs a lot to make hundreds, thousands, maybe millions of copies though
Yeah, it'd probably cost them $1 to make 2,000 disks and about $20 every 1,000 disks including hiring people to burn them and electricity to be run. That's about 5 cents a disk if my mental math is accurate. 5 cents is nothing when they're gonna get $3-$4 per disk when they sell them to the store. Then the store charges us $12-$20 per disk. It will cost a lot of money to make the disks, but they're gonna make around 60 times what they put into them. A large company like Universal has enough money to make the disks when they're going to get such a large profit yield.

Looks like there's nothing but new stuff on the way, which is good for us in the US.
And look at the list thus far:
01/07: Spooky Nighttime Adventure
01/08: Lone Dinosaur Returns
01/09: Stranger from the Mysterious Above
01/10: Hermit of Black Rock
01/11: Amazing Threehorn Girl
01/14: Big Longneck Test
Once the numbers get put into order, my old topic shall be revived. :^.^:
-
There are lots of folks going to be happy I bet when these air.
-
Is it still on channel 42 at 6am? If it is, I'll snatch the amazing threehorn girl when it comes out. :D That'd be so great!!! :D :D :D :yes :yes :^.^: :^.^: :D
-
YES!!! The episode for the 15th is The Great Egg Adventure!
I've been waiting for Hyp, Nod and Mutt to return for long, long time :D
*dances*
-
So, are the TV eps still on CN at 6am?
-
10:00am now.
-
Now we're getting down to business here. :D
-
Daggum right we are. Now if only we can get Season 2…
-
Daggum right we are. Now if only we can get Season 2…
And hopefully, that season will be more in detail of how Chomper and Ruby got to where they are now in the valley. The writers were kind of quiet on that. -_-
Oh, and LBTlover, here's the time the show starts in each timezone in the US to make it easy:
Eastern: 10 am
Centeral: 9 am
Mountain: 8 am
Pacific: 7 am
Alaskan: 6 am
Hawaiian: 5 am
There ya go! Any questions? :)
-
Okay. I'll set my DVD recorder for 7am then. I might as well set it for 6 and just record from 6am to 11am to make sure I don't miss it. :D
-
can one dvd record that much? I thought they were limited to 180 minutes. Goodluck.
-
Actually, Pacific follows the same schedule as Eastern most of the time, so it would still be 10:00am. It's probably different if you have DirecTV, though. I do, and I get all my stuff 3 hours early, an Eastern signal it would seem. It might also be like that elsewhere. Your best bet is to check the schedule on CN's website for your time zone and compare it to what's on your television at the time.
-
The wisest thing to do would be to just check your local listings. I've been messed up before because Cartoon Network aired something at a different time than predicted by the websites and such.
And does anyone know what became of that "The Return of the Egg Stealers" episode that was alleged to be airing on January 5th in Canada?
-
God, comcast sucks really bad. I looked it up on searchlight and it said that it would be airing a repeat of "the spooky night time adventure" on monday and then a tv ep Tuesday and wednesday but it has no information on the episodes on those days. On a high note, they have LBT 7: the stone of cold fire airing right after the tv ep on monday. LBT seems to be alive and kicking on toon channels. :D
-
Yup. Gonna be a good day tomorrow :D
An early one, but a good one.
-
If you think Comcast is bad, DirectTV thinks that Scooby-Doo is airing those days. -_-
I had to wait until just now to find out the ep number and make it official.
Worst of all? It says it's NOT a new episode for the US.
At least Comcast gets the name of the show right. -_-
-
I loving this. I would never thought this would ever happen! :) :) :) :) :) :D :D :D   :) :) :D

Hello:
well, good for you, but cartoon network won't do that around here for the time being and the channel that do broadcast the serie doesn't get to my city :cry :bang

Why is that?
-
Hello:
No idea really, Cartoon Networks has a companion channel called Boomerang, that channel shows TLBT serie every week but that signal does not get to my city, I don't know why the cable company does not give us that channel.
I hope someday they will <_<
-
Many cable companies do not carry certain channels, boomerang and the anime channel among them. That, and other reasons, are why many folks choose to forgo cable and go satellite tv instead.
