General Land Before Time / Do you think the Old One is a jerk?
« on: December 28, 2014, 10:40:20 PM »
First off, why doesn't she care for Grandpa Longneck, despite possibly being related to him?  She also may be a herd segregationist, and have taught Ali's herd to be that way.  I kinda blame her for how Ali was for a lot of the fourth film.

Also, it seems so odd that Littlefoot would put down an elder like that, saying "I don't think the Old One is very wise.".   Is he just being rude or is he dead on perhaps and we'll find out in the future?  (The only other dinosaur that is quite elderly or that must be up in years was Doc, and that was in the TV Series and was when Doc was so mistrustful of Chomper that Littlefoot felt, rightly that that was hindering his friendship with Doc.  However, once Doc accepts Chomper, Littlefoot actually apologizes for how he treated Doc and Doc says that Littlefoot was right to challenge him and they become pals again.)

However, the Old One almost kills Chomper in the TV Series.  One might think she may have done that because he is a Sharptooth, but, consider this, despite losing his mother only a short time before, and knowing Chomper is the same species as the infamous Sharptooth that took his mother from him, it NEVER crosses Littlefoot's mind to kill Chomper, fearing he'd kill someone as an adult.

Also, if Ali returns in future films, the Old One likely will as well.  What do you think of the Old One's behavior and seeming callousness?

LBT Fanfiction / The past and future of the Old One
« on: December 28, 2014, 07:59:11 PM »

Note: The total lunar eclipse, or "Fire Circle" as Clarice (the Old One) called it, plays a central part in her tale and even her fate, hence the image.  LBT X had a solar eclipse, this tale has a lunar one.)

Note: The sort of ending of this one ties into another fanfic I'm going to write too.   All of them tie into my Land Before Time two-part movie finale idea.

"Auntie", Ali asked her great-great aunt, "what was it like when you were little?".  Clarice sighed.  The young longneck could have no idea of the tragic past she had lived.  Clarice  told her somewhat, though the whole tale would certainly be too much for her great-great niece to bear, Clarice thought.

90 years before Ali was born, the Great Valley had been inhabited by Sharpteeth.  The valley had such great food and water, but nobody dared go there.  However, one day, her herd had decided to go there.  "Are you nuts?" Clarice had asked her parents.  "There are Sharpteeth there!"  "Don't question the wisdom of the elders Clarice."  her parents had said.  "We need to ensure that you have a better life and don't have to endure the hard life of living in the Mysterious Beyond."  said her father.

They sent in a scouting party.  As one might have expected, none of them came back.  The herd, however, determined to live a better life, decided to attack in the middle of the night.

She and her great friend Viktor, whom she hoped to marry someday and he her, were together on this occasion.  Their parents had wisely moved them further away from the attack.   They watched as the herd killed the Sharpteeth in their sleep.  As much as she knew the Sharpteeth were their natural predators and that they seemed unlikely to ever coexist, she felt that this was wrong.  However, what happened next would change her views on that and her life forever.

The Night Circle turned dark red.  It became a Fire Circle.  Then, she saw it, the reds of their eyes.  The Sharpteeth came.  They chased her and Viktor.  She and him kept running.  Then something terrible happened.  They got Viktor and devoured him.  She was filled with anguish, but she knew Viktor would have wanted her to save herself.  So she hid in a crevice.  She watched as Sharpteeth attacked others.  "Get away from them you monsters!" she yelled.

After a long fight, the Sharpteeth were driven out.  When she came out, the Great Valley was theirs.  However, the price they paid was high.  Many were dead, including both of Clarice's parents.  She was an orphan.

"Poor Auntie.  That's why you never married, after Viktor's death." Ali said.  "Yes dear."  said Clarice.  As Clarice well knew, that wasn't the end of it.  The Sharpteeth had fled to a place known as the Valley of Sharpteeth.  They later sent the Meanest Ever Sharptooth to try and take the Valley back.  Had Doc the Lone Dinosuar not saved them, many would have died.  The Valley of Sharpteeth hadn't tried anything after that.  However, Clarice still feared  an attack.

Having had too many bad memories in the Great Valley, she left when she came of age, sometime before Doc had come to the rescue of the Great Valley.

She went with other longnecks, for she stayed with her own kind.  The other kinds hadn't helped the longnecks when they heard them dying.  They had just walked on.

Many many cold times went by.   She watched as her sister married and had kids.  She really wished she could, but her true love was gone, killed by the evil Sharpteeth.

In time, they settled in a peaceful valley.  It seemed perfect to raise kids in and didn't have the dark memories of the Great Valley.   As time went by, eventually her sister's kids had children of their own.   Things still seemed great.   She thought that perhaps the dark memories were a thing of the past.

After many more cold times, she became the leader of her herd.  The mantle of responsibility was heavy upon her.   She had to make sure that nobody died in a tragedy like the one she had seen in the Great Valley.

When she was 90 years old, her great, great-niece Ali was born.   Ali seemed quite the young lady and Clarice was glad to tell her all she had known, though she knew the young longneck couldn't possibly bear all she knew.   She did, however, intend to tell Ali someday.  Ali would someday be a leader herself.

When Ali was a few years old, Clarice saw what she had hoped never to see again:  the Fire Circle.  One night, she saw it again appear in the sky.  "No, this can't be!" she said in horror.  "Not now.  Not after all these years of peace!"  "What is it Auntie?" said Ali, frightened.

The Fire Circle stayed in the sky.  Then, the clouds came.  The storms came after that.  The dreadful rain began.  It rained and rained and rained.  Soon,  the landscape was altered.  Strange creatures came.  The Belly Draggers and others started killing the members of her herd.  She fought them off, but there were too many.  She knew they'd have to leave.  She had once more failed to protect those she loved when the Fire Circle had appeared.

She thought of a place to go.  As much as she dreaded going back, it seemed the best idea, but she vowed she wouldn't stay there permanently.  She would go back to the Great Valley.

They left the Land of Mists behind them and soon came to the Great Valley.  Ali met her third cousin, Littlefoot.  Clarice thought that they seemed to get along great and was reminded, painfully, of herself and Viktor.  She had told the others in the Great Valley about her misfortunes in the Land of Mists.  They were all horrified.

When she suggested that the Great Valley itself might someday be changed, they seemed alarmed, but not alarmed enough, she thought.  The Great Valley had had tragedy before.  If Leaf Eaters could overwhelm and kick out Sharpteeth, the reverse could also happen, or other dreaded things.   Litltefoot's grandfather was gravely ill.  She knew there was only one cure to what he had.  The Night Flower of the Land of Mists.   However, she couldn't bring her herd back there.   When Littlefoot heard her decision, he said that "I don't think the Old One is very smart."

The Old One, that was her title, for she was now up in years.  She was affronted at the young longneck, yet, she thought back to a younger version of herself, challenging the elders who had so foolishly decided to go into the Great Valley and had paid dearly for it.   She decided to refrain from commenting.

However, she was shocked to find that Litltefoot and Ali had left.   And, worse, later, the other children Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike, had also left.  She feared she'd never see them again.  She tried to comfort Littlefoot's grandmother, telling her she could come with them when her mate died, as he seemed surely to do, and now that her grandson may be lost.

However, she was shocked beyond all measure to see the kids all come back, and with the Nightflower too.  She had no idea how they pulled it off.  Littlefoot's grandpa got well again.  Clarice  at least had to respect Littlefoot.  He had nerve.

She and her herd soon left the Great Valley again.  She couldn't bear to stay there permanently again.  And she couldn't go back to the Land of Mists either.  So they became a migratory herd.

After some years, they joined up with another herd and Ali met Rhett.  He seemed a decent enough fellow.  Having passed so near the Great Valley, Ali insisted that they go and pay a visit.  Clarice was seriously considering rejecting young Ali's proposal, but, many in her herd wanted the food in the Great Valley, which was more than what they were used to.  She relented.

She was with the other longnecks when Rhett came running to her, saying he and the others had been attacked by a Sharptooth.   Dread filled her.  Not here, not in the Great Valley.   Not again!

She went toward the danger and found Chomper.  He was a young purple Sharptooth.  He didn't seem very vicious and ran from her and her herd.  Eventually, they had him cornered.  They were going to end him.  She certainly wouldn't pity a Sharptooth.

However, Chomper started to talk and pleaded for them not to harm him.  She was taken aback.  Sharpteeth weren't supposed to talk!  They weren't supposed to have feeling!  They were supposed to be evil and bad!

However, as strange as this was, Chomper was still a Sharptooth.  She was on the verge of giving them the order to kill him when the kids, plus an Oviraptor named Ruby came.  They begged her not to harm him and that he was their friend.   It turned out that the whole thing had been to expose Rhett as a liar, as he had been lying to Ali, saying he'd fought off tons of Sharpteeth.

Clarice was greatly affronted, as Rhett should know better.  She herself had fought off many Sharpteeth, and she told Rhett that lying like that would NOT be tolerated.   She also told off the kids, for she, certainly more than many many others, knew that a Sharptooth attack was no joking matter.   She had decided that Chomper was nice.  She had met her first non-evil Sharptooth.   Still, he was only a kid.  She wondered what would happen when they got older.

Eventually, she and her herd left the Great Valley again.  They continued to travel from place to place as the years went by.  Ali and Rhett started dating as they approached their 25th Star Day, when they would come of age.

Clarice was 115 years old and in the twilight of her life when things started to go for the worse again.   There had been several attacks in the Mysterious Beyond.   Nobody could say how it was happening.    While it was certain that Sharpteeth were involved, the fact that no leaf eater had spotted it coming suggested something more than just your usual Sharptooth attack, something far more sinister.   Also, even Sharpteeth, who had been involved in some of the attacks, had turned up dead, despite clearly having not been killed by any leaf eater.  Whatever it was, it was a danger to both Leaf Eaters and Sharpteeth alike.

The fiend had been known as the Terror of the Mysterious Beyond and seemed to be able to move very fast, for nobody got a glimpse of him.   Also, in addition to this evil fiend, Red Claw, whom everyone had thought to have fallen to his death, had reappeared and was on the rampage, with more Fast Biters serving him than ever.

Faced with these dangers, Clarice decided there was nothing for it but to go back to the place of her childhood nightmares, the Great Valley, the only place that now seemed to be unharmed by Red Claw or the Terror of the Mysterious Beyond.

She and they met Littlefoot and his family and friends again.  This time she met Littlefoot's father Bron.  He seemed nice enough.  Bron's wife Arianna had died years ago, the victim of a Sharptooth attack.

She saw Littlefoot look at Ali and knew it as the same look that Viktor often gave her.  Littlefoot was smitten with Ali.   However, would Ali choose him or Rhett?

She related the story of the Terror of the Mysterious Beyond and Red Claw's return to the residents of the Great Valley.  They were visibly shaken.  She also told young Littlefoot and Ali and the others about her experience with the Valley of Sharpteeth, for Ali had finally asked her and she felt that, as they were older now, they could handle more.   They greatly pitied her.

After some days, the kids went missing.  Rhett was worried about Ali.   He wasn't the only one.  They all were.

However, Ali came back with the other kids, though some of the kids were now adults and Littlefoot was so close to adulthood and Petrie not too far off either.

However, they weren't alone.  A full grown green Sharptooth was with them.  At first, Clarice and her herd, as well as the Combined Herd of the Great Valley, panicked.  They were going to attack him, but Littlefoot had said that it was Chomper.

Chomper still seemed nice and Clarice thought that perhaps Littlefoot had found the first truly friendly Sharptooth in the whole wide world.   Still, who knew what he did when they weren't looking?  Was he a hunter in secret?

Chomper wasn't the only new arrival, for Ruby had come back too.  She and Chomper had left home, having come of age (for a Sharptooth came of age at age 20, and as Star Days were when you were born, not when you hatched, Chomper has come of age recently.)  Also, Chomper's friends Ruby had come of age a while ago too, as Botheeth came of age at age 22.  Though an adult, she was still single.  Clarice knew she'd find someone, in time.

Also, a Gallimimus named Gallim had come.  He had come with some Gallimimus friends named Odul, Ela, Finley, and Liz.   The kids seemed to like them.  Indeed, Gallim seemed really bright, not to mention fast and athletic.

Things went on, with Littlefoot and Ali drawing closer.   Unknown to her and known only to the kids, and, though the kids didn't know it, Gallim and his group, Chomper had a girlfriend who had helped him and Ruby out of a pinch with Red Claw, Screech, Thud, and the Fast Biters.   Her name was Andromeda.  She was from the Valley of Sharpteeth the place Clarice hated with a passion.

Andromeda at first didn't think fondly of residents of the Great Valley, for they had killed her ancestors and also, quite frankly, she viewed them as food.  However, Chomper's influence over her was making her nicer.  They were in agreement to eat hoppers and fish and the like.  It wouldn't be as filling as a leaf eater, but,  on the other hand, she was falling for Chomper and he for her.  She was changing.

Meanwhile, Gallim, who had been saying he was a Leaf Eater, had been spotted by Chomper eating a bird, exposing himself as a Bothtooth.

Having just expressed to Ruby that he feared the Terror of the Mysterious Beyond would be a Bothtooth and also a very fast Fast Runner, Chomper was suspicious of him  and asked why, unlike Ruby, he had never revealed that he ate meat and not just leaves.  Gallim had shrugged him off and Chomper had left, not sure if Gallim was the Terror of the Mysterious Beyond or not, and vowed to keep an eye on him.

Gallim had tried to harm residents of the Great Valley, but luckily his plots had failed.  However, he knew Chomper was dangerously close to exposing him and that Chomper had a girlfriend, Andromeda, whom he might have told what he suspected about Gallim and he also knew that Andromeda was learning Leaf Eater and could soon talk to them too.

One night, fearing he had to act, Gallim had woken up Clarice.  Gallim had caught wind that they were going to sneak Andromeda in at night, through a secret entrance to the Great Valley that the residents of the Valley of Sharpteeth knew, but that the Great Valley residents did not.  He didn't know about the secret entrance, but knew she was coming and where she had lived her whole life.

Deciding that a fight would get Andromeda either killed or to kill, either way getting Chomper in trouble, Gallim told Clarice that there was a resident of the Valley of Sharpteeth in the Great Valley.

Clarice couldn't believe it, but then....she saw it.  It was back.  The Fire Circle!   She followed Gallim and came to Andromeda.  Gallim had snuck off.

Andromeda saw Clarice and begged her not to tell.  She said that she had hoped to stay the night and reveal herself in the morning, thus showing that she wasn't bad.  Clarice asked Andromeda where she was from and Andromeda replied that she was from the Valley of Sharpteeth.

Clarice knew that she had to act.  Nobody would die this time, nobody but a Sharptooth.  She flew into a rage and attacked Andromeda.  Andromeda tried to protest.

Eventually, Andromeda decided that she had nothing for it but to defend herself.  However, Clarice knocked her down.  She was going to finish Andromeda and stop the death from coming.

Clarice saw Litltefoot on a hill watching the fight.  He looked shocked and horrified.  Also, someone else came up to the two combatants:  Chomper.

"Stop this.  Don't hurt her!" he protested angrily.  "I"m sorry Chomper, but I cannot trust anyone from the Valley of Sharpteeth.  They took so many from me." said Clarice.  She moved to finish off Andromeda.

It happened so fast.  Chomper leapt  forward, his claws outstretched, trying to push her away.  However, his aim was poor and his claws were positioned wrong.   Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike, and Ali came over the hill and looked up the scene.

WHAAAAAMMM!  Blood flew into the air as he made contact.  Clarice felt a sharp pain and fell over.  Her stomach had been sliced open.

Chomper, not realizing what had happened yet, turned down to glare at her "Stay away from her!  Don't hurt her!" he said angrily.  Then, he turned and saw the blood on his claws.  He looked shocked.  But then, she noticed a change.  Something darker, something sinister.  A change in his eyes.  A hungry look.

He had gotten leaf eater blood on his claws.  This triggered his appetite.  He moved down and was close to biting into her.  She figured she was going to die like Viktor, a meal for a Sharptooth.

However, both Andromeda and Littlefoot yelled "Chomper, no!"  and Chomper paused, his teeth inches from her, and snapped them shut.  He backed away, horrified.  "What have I done?!" he said in horror.

Clarice was taken aback.  A Sharptooth with regret.  How could there be such a thing.  The kids, minus Littlefoot, all yelled their anger at Chomper.   Topps sent a mob of leaf eaters after Chomper and Andromeda, who promptly ran for dear life.

Ali stayed with Clarice.  Clarice knew that she wouldn't make it.  She thought things over.  Andromeda had been nice and she, in her anger, had almost stooped to murder.   Chomper had stopped her, and, despite her believing that Sharpteeth were evil, killing machines without remorse or pity, yet Chomper had shown the greatest regret and had fought off his carnivorous nature.  Also, he had gone to protect Andromeda, and she saw now that Sharpteeth were capable of love.

She realized that she had been wrong about a lot of things in her life.  She wouldn't have much time to tell what she had learned to others now, for she knew that her wound was mortal.  The Chain of Life was breaking for her.   The Great Circle of Life was spinning to a stop for her.  Her time, quite long on the earth, was nearly over.  The Fire Circle wasn't the death omen of others this time, it was hers!

"Auntie, you'll get better!" said Ali, crying.  "No, Ali  It's my time.  I've been such a fool.  I need you to be strong.  Learn from my mistakes." she said.   She was breathing slower, her blood continuing to come out of her.

Eventually, Littlefoot returned.  He had come back after talking to Chomper and Andromeda.  He appeared to be in shock from whatever the two Sharpteeth had told him.   They had gotten away.  Littlefoot turned to Ali.  "Is she going to be alright?" he asked, concerned.  "I don't think she's going to make it!" said Ali, crying.

Littlefoot would be so good for Ali.  Hopefully he could help her so that she wouldn't make the mistakes and go through the pain that she had gone through.  He could be what Viktor would have been to her.  She would be back with Viktor soon, at last!  Her time on earth was almost up.

She used her remaining energy to try and offer her blessing on the two longnecks and, what she hoped, would be a happy life together for them.  She uttered two final words "Littlefoot!  Ali!".

Then blackness descended upon her.  When she opened her eyes, she was back with Viktor and those she cared about.  Her time of suffering was over.  She was free.

General Land Before Time / A very disturbing comment of Ichy's.
« on: December 28, 2014, 05:59:31 PM »
Not sure, but does anyone notice that Ichy says

"Don't swallow Dil, it's me Ichy!" when he falls into her mouth when Spike whaps him with his tail.   For years, I never noticed the oddity of what he said, but a few days ago, it finally occurred to me.

Why use the word swallow ?   Don't most Sharpteeth (and most dinosaurs in general for that matter) chew their food FIRST before swallowing?   Was this a slipup on the writers's part or does Dil actually swallow some prey whole if the prey is small enough (i.e. Petrie, Ichy, or Ducky sized) and let the poor critter be digested alive in her stomach?

If so, I'd admit she's gotta be the most twisted villain in Land Before Time!   :wow

I guess, like Chomper's parents saying they viewed any friends of Chomper's as desert, despite never bothering to ask what type the friends were, that this is just another very disturbing comment of a character in the series that they put in there and didn't bother to explain, perhaps hoping nobody would notice?

These two aren't the only disturbing quotes in the films.  In film 7, when it appears that Ducky falls to her death, and Pterano expresses sorrow over it, Sierra says

"So what?  You should be used to this sort of thing by now!"  What the heck did he mean by that?

Has Sierra killed others before and is basically saying "I've done this before often.  Why do you suddenly care all of a sudden?"  or is he saying "This isn't the first guy we've knocked off.", indicating that Pterano might not be an anti-hero, but a murderer?  Or was he simply referring to the situation with Pterano's followers, which he may have heard of, and saying "You saw your followers all die.  Why so much sadness over the death of a single young swimmer?  You should be used to others dying around you by now."  or is he saying something else entirely that isn't listed above?

Also, in the second film, there is something very bizarre about Ozzy's behavior when he finds out, or so it appears, that the egg he was after hatched.   He freaks out, and, even his brother tries to get him to calm down, but he is so irate that he lost his dinner (Get over it dude!  It was the previous night!)   However, he asks about the egg, despite standing right on the egg shells when he is addressing them.  Is he that blind????

However, the most disturbing of all is that he doesn't seem to say "Well, it hatched.  Probably was no good to eat anyway." and just walks away.  I mean, if Ozzy loves to eat egg yoke and Chomper was mostly developed, if not nearly fully, by the night before, surely he'd have gotten nothing, except perhaps bitten, were he to try and break open the egg and eat it.  Does Ozzy actually eat both the partially developed dino as well as the yoke?  One almost wonders that as his behavior seems so bizarre, not to mention that he doesn't seem to give up after learning how to close to hatching it was nor does he seem to admit defeat, having seen the egg shell and perhaps, for all we know, knowing that the egg hatched into a Sharptooth.

The final disturbing incident I can think of happens in the TV Series.  After Cera is found not to be such an Amazing Threehorn Girl, it seems some of the dinos were singing that she should leave.  Does anyone find it odd that they'd suggest banishment for someone as young as Cera and for such a minor crime as her's or is it just me?

(Of course, there is a non-spoken, for the most part, disturbing scene too, where it shows baby Chomper biting Cera.  It actually, if you take a still of the movie, appears quite frightening and it looks like the teeth should have cut her open and made her bleed.  Yet, though hurt, she doesn't appear to be crying from the pain, just really irritable.  When a Sharptooth bites himself in the tail later in another scene, perhaps of another film, he actually cries from the pain.)  Also, Strut doesn't appear to be hurt too much by being bitten either.  One might surmise that Chomper's teeth aren't sharp enough yet to cut the skin on a dino and he can only cut open bugs, as of yet, but I didn't see blood even when he bit the bigger Sharptooth in the fifth film, despite them actually being willing to show blood in a later scene in said film.)

If Chomper, as he became an adult, were ever to succumb to his Sharptooth nature and turn on the Gang of Five, he'd be very dangerous, to say the least.

I'm really hoping Chomper doesn't go bad, for Littlefoot's sake.

1.)  Chomper knows the Great Valley better than any Sharptooth and would know how to avoid guards and stuff were he to ever attempt eat anyone and not get caught.

2.)  He also knows both Leaf Eater and Sharptooth, and so could lure Leaf Eaters into a trap, pretending to be one of them and getting them to come into an ambush (this ability, even the villain from the first film didn't have.  In fact, I've only seen two other Sharpteeth share it:  Dil and Ichy.  Heck, he could make an alliance with those two, having Ichy fly over the walls and showing Dil how the Belly Draggers got in last time, and so the three could go attacking the Great Valley in the middle of the night.)

3.)  He might sell info out on the Great Valley to Red Claw (perhaps if for no other reason than that Red Claw might threaten to kill him and his parents if he doesn't), though, if he were to go bad, he might tell Sharpteeth how to get in and get around while being spotted as little as possible.  As he is trusted by the Great Valley, he could lure leaf eaters into traps himself.  If no witnesses survive, he can keep doing it over and over.  As long as the traps are OUTSIDE the Great Valley, it would be hard to pin it on him, and we know Littlefoot would keep insisting that Chomper had nothing to do with it and that the other dinosaurs are just being judgmental and he'd probably help Chomper escape if they were to try and attack Chomper anyway without any overt proof.

4.) He knows where the nests are and could sneak eggs at night and let everyone think it was Egg Stealers.

5.)  Littlefoot trusts him completely.  He could use that to his advantage, and, given how Littlefoot ignored the tail biting thing in II and the stalking thing in V, he might be totally off his guard were Chomper to try and lure him away from the others, perhaps into a cave, and make an end of him alone.

6.)  Chomper has an intelligence level that is, without a doubt, quite higher than any other Sharptooth we've seen in any of the films, even the original villain.   Unlike Dil and Ichy, he doesn't appear that he'd be incompetent (he, after all, was able to corner the Gang of Five all by himself).   He even can talk, albeit not fully, on the day he was hatched, as he is going "Unt unnnh." and "Uh huh." in reply to stuff Littlefoot was telling him.  He also came up with the idea of how to defeat Ozzy and Strut.  If he ever were to use his brains against the Great Valley, he'd be really dangerous indeed!!!!

What are your thoughts?

General Land Before Time / Who is your favorite villain?
« on: December 28, 2014, 05:18:04 PM »

Ok, there are lots of bad guys in LBT.  Some more menacing than others.

Personally, my favorite villain so far is Sierra.  I'm not sure if he's a Sharptooth or a Leaf Eater as he has teeth and looks more Sharptoothish but he isn't trying to eat any of the Gang of Five, though perhaps that's why he tried to snap at Ducky.

He is just plain evil.  He and Ozzy, my third favorite, my second being the infamous Sharptooth from the first film, are just psychopaths who wanna kill others who get in their way.  It's not even so they can eat, they just wanna get even and seem to hate the world and, in Sierra's case, are power hungry.

Sierra even looks evil.  Heck, Ozzy and Sierra working together would be the Dangerous Duo!   :!

As for future villains, I have an idea for some of those.

1.) An evil female Sharptooth Pteradactylus named Agatha who married a leaf eater (Pteranodon) that she originally loved, but began to hate when their hybrid son started to like him more than her and she and the father weren't working too well together and she feared he'd take her boy and leave.  So she goes and murders and eats her mate in the dead of night.  She then, to get her son to hate Leaf Eaters, saying they murdered his father just because he was a Sharptooth (no, he's not, but she'd a liar) and they took the body too.  Her son would by the lie for years, and, eventually, getting tired of his overbearing mother, her son would leave and come to the Great Valley and befriend the Gang of Five.  Eventually, she comes and tries to get him.  When her son, deciding that she was wrong about Leaf Eaters being bad, decides that he's staying, she would reveal the truth that she indeed killed his father.  She would threaten to eat the Gang of Five unless her son came.  Eventually, the grownups would come and a fight would break out.  Near the end of the fight, she would actually try and murder her own son, deciding that she couldn't turn him to her way of thinking, but would be knocked out by Petrie and Mama Flyer and would fall into a tar pit and die and her son would be adopted into Petrie's family.

2.)  Evil three horn villains.  Perhaps one that is an enemy of Cera's Grandfather and the bad guy's two sons, who would be childhood enemies of Topps.

3.)  An evil Gang of Four that would try and get Littlefoot to join it and try and get some fabled Fire Rock (actually a huge lava rock) that is under the Great Valley and would, according to longneck legend, give the users of it great knowledge, which they hope to use to make themselves smarter than and in charge of the grownups.  Littlefoot likes the idea and starts to hang with them more, snubbing his friends.  Eventually, he'd go with them on the quest, though, heading down, he'd back off.  However, the leader of the bad group, perhaps an evil Longneck, would have some members of the Gang of Five kidnapped to persuade Littlefoot to go.   They would go near the fabled stone, which would be in a deep underground cavern in the Great Valley and would be sorta under the Smoking Mountains.  A fight would occur underground and the stone would be lost.  The bad guys are punished by the grownups, rather than killed or banished,, as they are just kids. Littlefoot would be punished too (for once!!!!)  for his role, though to a lesser extent.

4.)  My ultimate villain, an evil Gallimimus named Gallim who would speak both Sharptooth and Leaf Eater.  He'd misdirect leaf eaters, easily posing as them as he can eat green food and speak their language.  He'd then help his Sharptooth partners, who would be hiding on his orders, and then, he'd lead them to the leftover part of the herd that wasn't misdirected and they'd attack them and split the takings.

One of his first victims would be Mama Longneck, though Sharptooth would mess up things and go for Littlefoot and Cera, rather than Littlefoot, his mother, and his grandparents when they were asleep.  The villain is easily able to change plans quickly.  He ordered Sharptooth to kill Mama Longneck, which Sharptooth happily did.  However, he assumed that Sharptooth and Cera had died in the Great Earthshake.  Having thought Mama Longneck dead too, he tries to eat Littlefoot, but cannot catch him and vows to get him someday.  He also gives himself the title "The Terror of the Mysterious Beyond".  (the way I got him to work is to have him not seen so nobody would know his identity as a villain till it was revealed to one of the main characters and also had him off all camera shots of the original film but still be around then.  He's basically like how they appeared to have the carjacker kill Uncle Ben in the Spider Man film but had it turn out to be Flint Marko in Spider Man 3., though, Sharptooth still would be Mama Longneck's direct killer, but Gallim would turn out to be the accomplice nobody knew about and indeed the mastermind of the operation.)

Gallim would return about 20 years later after that incident, though perhaps sooner if I could make him appear with voice only in some episodes I had planned for the TV Series,  and would come to the Great Valley, having taken over most of the Mysterious Beyond (minus some place called the Valley of Sharpteeth, which he eventually takes over too via his  servant Red Claw (yeah, Red Claw serves him.  I had him give Red Claw his good looks and so even Red Claw fears him.) )  The villain would eventually cause a breakup in Littlefoot and Chomper's friendship and also cause the death of the Old One.

As he rises in power, he gets the Great Valley herds to fight each other, trying to recreate herd segregation within the Great Valley.

At some point near the end, he'd decide that Chomper is about to expose him and reveal his true nature to the Gang of Five.  He'd then unleash a big army on the Great Valley.

Eventually, it would come down to a final showdown between him and Littlefoot and Ali in the Mountains that Burn, where he'd ultimately be knocked by a tail whip (shown to be one of the few things he is vulnerable to) from Littlefoot and fall into the lava and die.  He'd be my finale villain.  He'd have the most infamous villains of the franchise at his command (specifically, Sharptooth, Sierra, and Red Claw) at various points in the film.

(Note, he'd appear both in a flash back and even when Littlefoot is grown up, the final fight actually being on the very day and around the very hour Littlefoot comes of age in fact.)

45.) Some dark plot where it turns out that Leaf Eaters kicked out Sharpteeth, who were the original inhabitants of the Great Valley, 90 years before Littlefoot was born.

46.) Have Littlefoot's mother's death turn out to be on his 5th Star Day and have him not celebrate his own Star Day for many years as a result.

(47.) Have Littlefoot kill Chomper.  (Just kidding.  That would be such a :cry )  )

47.) Have a Sharptooth/Leaf Eater hybrid in this one.

48.)  3D Land Before Time

49.)  Ruby talks normal.

50.)  Other

LBT Fanfiction / Sharptooth and the Stone of Cold Fire
« on: December 22, 2014, 03:54:13 AM »
Note: This is kind of a joke, but, consider how accurate the alternate reality Sharptooth would have created would be and see that even the most tragic event, so far, in Littlefoot's life DID bring out a lot of good things and kept a lot of bad things from happening.  (I love Yellow Bellies, but, for those who HATE them, you're gonna really like this.)

Sharptooth was roaming around the Mysterious Beyond.  He spotted a young threehorn and a young longneck.  "A late night snack!" he said to himself greedily, licking his lips.

However, overhead, a glowing blue stone fell through the sky, averting his attention.  He went toward it.  He soon realized it was something special.  It held power.....

He demanded to know what it did.  He said he wanted to defeat the Great Valley, a leaf eater stronghold.

A voice from the stone told him that he must not kill the mother.  He didn't know what that meant.  He asked.  The voice was cryptic, as ever, and stated that if he killed the mother, at least now, he would meet a watery grave.  Sharptooth was taken aback.  He the feared Sharptooth, drowned?!  How could this be so?

He demanded a way to stop this.   The voice from the stone said he must let the "one who could stop him" be destroyed.  Sharptooth vowed to do this danger in himself.  However, miraculously, the stone said that he wouldn't have to, someone others would but that he must be near to witness it.  He would find his enemy near a Misty Land in a cave in four cold times from then.  He must be there to watch his enemy's end.  He agreed, gleefully.

He still, however, didn't know how he'd beat the invincible Great Valley.  The stone replied that he must find a young pink one.  He was told that he'd find him, along with a tall one.  They would both be Sharpteeth and he would find them in five cold times near a near island that would, with the power of the stone that would be given him, have a land path revealed for him to cross then.

He still wanted to know more.  He was told to find the evil flyers, that would go by the names of Rinkus and Sierra with another flyer that he would make evil and stay evil, one named Pterano.  He would also find the siblings of some flyer named Petrie, that would go evil because of the thing he was about to alter.  He was also told to find a belly dragger and a sharpbeak, who would help him get rid of his mysterious "great enemy".   Also, he was told to find the one with the red claw, who would be another Sharptooth.  After 12 cold times, he would come with his group and the Great Valley would fall before him.

Sharptooth left the stone, grinning evilly.  He saw the three horn and the young longeck.  He licked his lips.  Food time!

He ran toward them.  They panicked and ran.   "Mama help!" Littlefoot yelled.  Sharptooth chased them into thorn, at one point injuring his eye.  They came out of the vines, and he came out behind them, determined to pay them back.

Then, he saw her.  The big mother.  That was what she must be.  Sharptooth realized this was the life that he must not, at least not for many cold times, take.  If he did, he was told his life would end soon.

He dodged her, not daring to so much as scratch her.  He went for Cera.  However, then....it happened.  The ground rumbled.  He turned and ran.  The others did too.  Cera, however, was separated from Littlefoot and his mother.  Littlefoot and Cera would never , at least in life, meet again!

Sharptooth came to the stone of cold fire.  The earth was moving.  He got it to heal his eye.  Knowing he had to scamper fast, he asked it for another power.  It gave him the ability to speak leaf eater.  The stone then fell into the Dark Underground and was ruined.  However, he still had his chance and now had a new power.

He used it gleefully, using it to lure leaf eaters to their doom.  Meanwhile, Littlefoot and his mother would continue on toward the Great Valley.

Meanwhile, Cera met a young swimmer named Ducky.  She met a young flyer named Petrie later.  Sometime later, she met a spike tail, who just hatched, named Spike.  They wandered on, trusting Cera.

They came to the Mountains that Burn.  Petrie fell off Cera's back when she panicked.  Petrie fell into tar, where he met his end.

Spike and Ducky, meanwhile, fell into lava, also meeting their ends.  Cera kept going, until she was cornered by Domehead.  She let out a final scream as she was attacked.  Cera was no more!

Meanwhile, a flyer named Pterano led a herd that had agreed to follow him.  The herd was ambushed by Albino Sharpteeth and Pterano was the only survivor.  The other dinosaurs were furious that Pterano wouldn't admit he was wrong and they banished him for life from the Great Valley.  Pterano, who no longer had a nephew, would never ever bother to return to the Great Valley.  Instead, he would associate with Rinkus and Sierra, two evil flyers, in time becoming as bad as they.

Littlefoot and his mother reached the Great Valley.  They reunited with Grandma and Grandpa Longneck.  However, there was no happy reunion with Topps, Mama and Papa Swimmer, and Mama Flyer and their kids.

Weeks would go by.  Tragedy would strike again.  Two egg stealers, by the names of Ozzy and Strut, would be having an egg-stravaganza, stealing eggs from many nests, and always getting away with it.  Mama and Papa Swimmer's nest was one of those hit.

Meanwhile, in the Mysterious Beyond, the following day, an egg of a Sharptooth would hatch.  His name would have been Chomper, but, as he never met Littlefoot, it instead became "Hard Biter".
He would become a regular Sharptooth.

A cold time later or so, a drought would strike the Great Valley.  Littlefoot was annoyed that Hyp, Nodd, and Mutt kept bothering him.  Eventually, he found water and went to tell the grownups.  However, a fire broke out before they could do much.  They left the Great Valley.

Hyp, Nodd, and Mutt greedily went looking for water.  They found water, but also tar.  Littlefoot, Nodd, and Mutt tried to get Hyp from the tar, but, with just the three of them, they couldn't and Hyp lost his life.

They didn't have time to mourn Hyp's loss long though.  Soon, Fast Biters came.  Littlefoot, Nod, and Mutt decided to try and push rocks at the Fast Biters.  They watched as Hyp's father lost his life below while they struggled to move the rocks.  At last, they got one to to move, but not before some Fast Biters grabbed Nodd and Mutt, taking them with them as they went down.  Littlefoot could only watch helplessly as they were mauled to death.  Water came, pushing the bad guys away.  The Great Valley eventually grew back, but the Time of Great Giving had a somber mood.

At last, the fourth cold time arrived.  Littlefoot met his third cousin Ali.  Mama Longneck was worried.  Her father had fallen gravely ill.  The Old One said he would die unless he got a Night Flower.

Littlefoot and Ali snuck off to the Land of Mists.  Meanwhile, Sharptooth, having heard of the Land of Mists, had a very important date, and stood outside the cave.  He eventually went into it, hiding in a chamber.  It was imperative that he not kill this "greatest danger" himself.

Eventually, an earthshake occurred as Littlefoot and Ali were in the cave, causing a rockslide.  Sometime later, Sharptooth watched as Dil and Ichy ate Littlefoot and Archie.  Now Sharptooth got it.  Eventually, Ali broke through and was attacked by Dil and Ichy.  However, though she was injured, she was still alive when Sharptooth came in and told them to back of.  She was going to thank him, but he turned to Dil and Ichy, told them to meet him near the Great Valley at the appointed time of his victory.  He then ate Ali.

Mama Longneck watched as her father died of his disease.  She also knew, from Littlefoot and Ali's lack of returning, that they had met a bad end in the Land of Mists.  She had lost three relatives that day.  She wished, almost, and not for the last time, that she had died years ago, killed by that Sharptooth in the Mysterious Beyond.

Unfortunately, things would only get worse.

General Land Before Time / Why was Chomper chasing Littlefoot & co in V?
« on: December 22, 2014, 02:53:30 AM »
This, my friends, is one of the things that could make or break the franchise and also lead to a very dark finale movie to the Land Before Time series.

Things to consider that are very unnevering

1.)  Chomper's comment that he had longneck for breakfast (a lie of course) but still, the fact that his parents didn't seem to doubt him.  Has he eaten leaf eaters, or even, God forbid, longnecks before?

2.)  Why was he chasing them in that canyon scene?  Was it because they just panicked, saw the shadow, and ran, or was Chomper trying to hunt them, before he recognized them?

If 1 and 2 are true, or even if just 1 is true, that kinda bodes ill for some future time when Chomper and Littlefoot are fully grown, if not sooner.

I mean, consider this

1.) Chomper knows where they live

2.) He knows their scent and could stalk them

3.) Littlefoot trusts Chomper completely and would be caught off guard were Chomper to ever give in to his Sharptooth instincts and suddenly view the gang as "food".

Considering that Chomper is hungry one day and encounters them, perhaps in their late teens or something, will there be a Battle of the Heroes (like Anakin vs. Obi-wan) where the two Prehistoric Pals are trying to kill the other, and know they can't go back to being friends now,  finally resulting in Chomper's death at the hands of Littlefoot or other of the other Prehistoric Pals?

(Note: The term Prehistoric Pals is the official term, I heard, for the Gang of Five plus Chomper and Ruby.)

On the flip side, one could avoid Chomper's death by, if 1 and/or 2 are true, having Littlefoot finally realize that Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike were right about Chomper one day being their enemy in V and, the Gang and Chomper finally deciding, for the safety of his friends, that they can NEVER meet again and they part ways?  This would avoid the "Littlefoot kills Chomper" scenario, but would be  Chomper leaving the Prehistoric Pals, never to return, which, indeed is quite a tearjerker all the same.

However, does anyone think there is a way to avoid the two scenarios above that I'd rather avoid,  if 1 and/or 2 would still hold true?  Also, do you think it's possible that neither 1 or 2 hold true and this can still work out quite easily?

General Land Before Time / Things in LBT you've always wondered about.
« on: December 22, 2014, 01:35:25 AM »
1.) Despite the fact that Bron was still alive, the narrator says that Littlefoot, his mother, and his grandparents were the last of his herd.

2.)  How things went when Littlefoot told the Great Valley about Chomper coming.

3.)  Why the narrator in II says that there are two types of dinosaurs: Those that eat leaves and those that eat meat (other dinosuars).  However, in that very same movie, there is Ozzy, who eats EGGS.

3.) If Topsy is Cera's father's real name.

4.)  If Guido was orphaned at a very young age and cannot recall his parents or family and hence thinks he's one of a kind.  (I think he still is, but I think there are other Microraptors out there.  He just hasn't found them yet.)

5.)  Is Guido a Sharptooth flyer?  He eats bugs like Chomper.

6.)  Has Chomper been eating leaf eaters between II and V?  I'm wondering, his parents didn't seem to question him when he said that he had longneck for breakfast.  One would think if he'd only eaten dragon flies and whatnot, they'd have found his comment of eating longneck to be phony (or one almost wold surmise that anyway.)  One also wonders, if, like Littlefoot's Grandparents kept giving him food till he ate it, Chomper's parents kept giving him meat, till finally he said "Well, they're already dead and I didn't knock them off myself, so, might as well."

7.)  Why Shorty, even if he was orphaned, why he has such a tude problem and is kind of a bully.  On the flip side, Littlefoot thought he was orphaned for years, only to find out he still had a father, yet, in all those years, he doesn't have a tude problem.

8.)  Do Sharpteeth suffer from herd segregation too?  Other than Dil and Ichy, who got along oh so not well, we've never seen, say, Tyranosaurus and Belly Draggers working together or any type working together.  In fact, as far as I can tell, other than VI, where it appears to be not a partnership but just chance, we only see Sharpteeth of two different types working together one other time, a very notable occurance: Red Claw (Tyranosaurs) and Screech and Thud (Fast Biters).   I doubt any other time they ever work together well.  One almost thinks that Red Claw figured out a way to get Sharpteeth to work with other Sharpteeth herds (at least, Sharpteeth loyal to HIM anyway).   That would make huge sense as to the plot of the TV Series, as if neither Sharpteeth nor Leaf Eaters in the Mysterious Beyond would work outside of their own herd, that would give Red Claw, who might have managed such a feat, perhaps through brute force and intimidation, though perhaps he has brains too and has worked out a thug network somehow, perhaps stealing food from other Sharpteeth to pay them off.  Anyway, the one place that has been well documented to have herds working together would be, you guessed it, the Great Valley, which is pretty much why Ruby and Chomper stated they had gone there.  It wasn't so much to hide from Red Claw for the rest of their lives there, but to try and observe the Great Valley dinosaurs and how they work together and then teach dinosaurs in the Mysterious Beyond those lessons so that they could work together and overthrow Red Claw and his goons.

9.)  Why didn't Ali, who had encountered Sharpteeth like Dil and Ichy, and who knows what else in the Land of Mists, have a least a grain of doubt when hearing Rhett's whoppers?   Also, have Ali and Littlefoot grown further apart since IV as she seems kinda snobby to him in the TV series?
Perhaps Rhett was her sole companion of her age and she kinda grew close to him.  On the other hand, if Littlefoot and Ali WERE meant to be a couple in the future, does this mean a love triangle between Littlefoot, Ali, and Rhett is looming?

10.) If Hyp was a teenager in III, is he an adult by the time of the TV series or still a teenager?

11.) Does anyone know at what age Littlefoot would come of age (i.e. dinosaurs probably didn't have the same lifespan as us and some may well have had a longer lifespan than us.) ?  That might be an important factor in determining how many movies to make before he becomes an adult.

12.) Has anyone else noticed that Typpy in the TV series and Lizzie in XI sound like Suzy Carmichael from Rugrats?

13.)  Has anyone ever thought how Littlefoot would get married, barring Ali's return or another longneck herd coming to the Great Valley?  Despite what his mother promised him, there don't seem to be any other longnecks (that aren't his grandparents and aren't Littlefoot himself) that reside in the Great Valley.  (Maybe they are hiding and will come out in future movies, but still, one woulda thought they'd have shown by now.  True, I think we might have seen another longneck in V with them, but, heck, she was full grown too.)  I know one longneck went back to the Great Valley with Grandma and Grandpa at the end of X, but still, that won't help Littlefoot find Mrs. Right.

14.) On the same subject as 13, Spike would have the same problem, being the only spiketaill in the Great Valley.   Petrie, Ducky, and Spike seem to have other of their kind, or probably do, but Littlefoot and Spike don't seem to.

15.) Are Littlefoot and Ali first cousins or third cousins?

16.) Are Chomper's parents and Red Claw open to canniablism?  If one notices, their comment about eating any friends of Chomper's as dessert in V doesn't seem to indicate what type the friends are.  Not only could they be fellow Sharpteeth, they could be fellow Tyranosaurses.  Also, it seems, maybe I heard wrong, that Red Claw wants to eat Chomper in the TV Series.  (So do Screech and Thud, so maybe Sharpteeth eat each other too.  Maybe the leaf eaters should use that to their advantage.

 :idea    )

17.)  How Chomper kept his name that Littlefoot gave him and his parents didn't change it or wonder where he got it from?

18.) Where Mo learned to speak Leaf Eater?

19.)  Why Fast Biters are called Fast Biters?   (I can see where they got Fast Runner as they run fast.  Most leaf eaters run (or DIE) when Fast Biters start biting so one would think they wouldn't have much time to measure the speed of their biting versus that  of other carnivores.)

20.) Why Chomper, having seen his parents chase Littlefoot near that log in II, would think they'd  suddenly be nice to Littlefoot for no reason in V.  Has he ever seen her parents kill something (perhaps Ozzy or Strut too, we don't know on that) or has he always covered his eyes or been off chasing dragon flies at the time?

21.) At what point did Chomper stop trying to eat dragon flies and decide to eat bees instead?

22.)  Why didn't Ozzy and Strut just turn around that corner instead of leaping off the cliff.  If that HHAD been a grown dangerous Sharptooth, he'd have had his fill with the kids and Ozzy and Strut could have stayed out of sight and watched them die, something one would think, given Ozzy's personality, he'd probably get a kick out of?

23.)  Why Chomper didn't say "Hey guys, it's me Chomper.  Hello."  when encountering them, but just stood there, opening and closing his mouth, casting that creepy shadow, and letting the kids run and only speaking to them when they were trapped against the wall, cowering and expecting to die at any moment?  Was that his idea of a practical joke?

24.)  Did Cera outgrow her foolhardiness around villains that she had in I, II, and IV?  (She was ramming Sharptooth in the first movie, idiotically told Ozzy and Strut that Chomper was a baby in II, and went "Heee!" when Dil and Ichy were fighting each other and they would have gotten away otherwise if she hadn't opened her mouth in IV.)

25.) Was Littlefoot ever offended when he found out he had been named after his father's childhood nickname?

352
Let's say that Littlefoot, for whatever reason, was willing to admit he broke the rules in II and actually told them the truth: that they went after Egg Stealers to try and make themselves look grown up, that they thought they took back Ducky's sibling's egg but had grabbed a Sharptooth egg and that it had turned out to be a Sharptooth egg?

He'd also point out that Chomper didn't seem dangerous and hadn't tried to hurt him, despite having a few chances to do so.

Do you think their response would have been:

1.) To tell Littlefoot that he has a wild imagination (i.e. they wouldn't believe him)
2.) They'd demand to be shown where Chomper is so they could kill him.

(If this happens, which of the following 2 scenarios do you think would happen?)

2..a) Littlefoot would openly criticize that decision and make a very profound statement that killing Chomper, when he is so young, is no better, and perhaps worse, than the older Sharpteeth that only kill leaf eaters for food.  And he'd refuse to help them find Chomper, perhaps hiding him from them or even fleeing the Great Valley with him to save his life.

2.b.) He'd just accept their decision and feel like an idiot for telling.

3.) They'd realize that it would be wrong to kill Chomper, but would say that having a Sharptooth in the Great Valley is dangerous and would insist on showing Chomper to the exit?

4.) They'd help hide Chomper and then things would proceed as normal as they did in the movie?

5.) They'd have called a meeting with the other adults and insisted that Chomper, as long as he doesn't hurt anyone, can stay.

General Land Before Time / If you could change one thing in LBT
« on: December 20, 2014, 03:50:06 PM »
This could be anything, but it can only be ONE thing.  It can be a big thing even going so far as to have NO songs in any of the movies or the TV series and have the sequels and stuff be like the original, but it has to be one thing.

This could be
  • Petrie being a fish eater instead of a leaf eater
  • Chomper being a leaf eater instead
  • Topps being really tolerant
  • Petrie being brave instead of being a coward
  • Spike talking regularly
  • Chomper being bad instead of good
  • Sharptooth surviving the end of the first movie
  • Ozzy and Strut dying
  • Dil actually eats Ichy
  • Bron is never introduced
  • Littlefoot's mother survives
  • one of the main characters dies
  • Pterano stays bad
  • Petrie has a father shown
  • Ducky's father talks
  • Littlefoot being abducted by Rainbow Face aliens
  • The Stone of Cold Fire actually having powers with it
  • Ducky not using "Yep yep yep" or "No, no no".
  • Petrie actually would talk in regular English
  • Cera actually being a coward who likes to hide a lot

among other things.

General Land Before Time / What would you like to see in future releases?

One of the things I most want to see is Littlefoot and Ali start a family.

One of the things I least want to see is Chomper going ...er...truly bad.   I'd rather sink in the mud, fall out of a tree, or roll like a rock right into the sea.  One thing I know I hope we never see is Chomper going bad.  (When I say "truly bad", I don't mind, and actually have it in the fanfic, where they do go south like Tod and Copper from Fox and the Hound, though, of course, I'd like them to reconcile, and, unlike what seems to have happened with Tod and Copper, be able to be together again after the reconciliation.)

What I'd like to see is Ruby come back, either in the TV series or later at some point.

What I'm hoping they don't do is pretend that she never existed and leave the TV series plot unresolved.

Another thing I'd kind of like to see is for Pterano to return and sort of be a father figure to Petrie.  Littefoot has Grandpa Longneck and Bron (whom I'm a little sore at still over his disappearing act.)

Cera has her father (though maybe not always the best role model)

Ducky has her father (though he never talks) and Spike presumably also has Ducky's father as a father figure.

However, Papa Flyer has NEVER shown up (perhaps he was one of Pterano's followers) and can be presumed to no longer be with us.  Pterano is currently banished for 5 years and so can't be with Petrie (unless Petrie leaves the Great Valley).

Also, this makes even more sense as Littlefoot got Grandma Longneck as a mother figure after his mother's death and Cera got Tria as a mother figure after her mother's presumed death.   Maybe Petrie wouldn't be "Panicky Petrie" anymore if he had a father figure in his life.

Yeah, Pterano has some flaws, but, heck, so does Topps.

Also, what I don't want to see is Grandma and/or Grandpa Longneck dying, not even of old age.  True, Bron could always come to the Great Valley so Littlefoot won't have to leave his friends, but, still, the loss of the beloved grandparents is something I hope they don't do.

Another thing I'm hoping doesn't happen is that the Great Valley gets a calamity at last that makes it impossible to live in and the characters have to live in the Mysterious Beyond, even if, as Littlefoot & Co would most certainly ensure, they didn't have to split up, for the remaining films.  We've grown too fond of the Great Valley to see it damaged beyond repair.

Also, I might as well say it, I hope the 14th film I hear they are making , ISN'T a reboot of the entire series.  Reboot's often don't do as well as the original and none of us want to lose any of the Prehistoric Pals.    (Also, I found that, even altering the original to not have Littlefoot's mother die, as I found that would mean Littlefoot never met the others, who would, one would think, never have survived without him, and, as a consequence, they'd never have been able to rescue him in the cave in movie 4 and also Chomper would have been a leaf eater killer as he never met Littlefoot and also we'd never hear of Ruby.  Also, with that in mind, Grandpa Longeck and Tippy's herd also would have died.  The herds would have split up in the fifth film.  Also, Ducky's family and others would have lost some of their eggs to Ozzy and Strut.   If movie 4 came before 3, perhaps Topps would have died in the wildfire as Grandpa Longneck wouldn't have been there to save him, in which case, Tricia would never have been born.    In any event, Tricia would have died in the 12th movie without Littlefoot & co being around.  Also, Littlefoot and Archie would have been eaten by Dil and Ichy, and Ali, trying, in vain, to break through the rocks and have heard their last moments and been haunted for the rest of her life by that.   Without Littlefoot & Co., the swimming sharptooth might have gotten Mo.   In short, Littlefoot's mother's death was a necessary evil that made the future movies possible.)

I found out about this forum.  I'm not sure where to post general discussion and, at the risk of being thrown off the Great Wall by Ozzy or Strut or fed to the Sharpteeth by Sierra, I thought I'd ask first.
