General Land Before Time / Upon Further Review

You just made me like that one a lot more. Nice review.
Anyway, GVA will always be one of my favorites, one as it's got Chomper in it and, I believe, it's the first one I ever saw, as I think my Mother may have gotten me it on video soon after it first came out. I think I saw the original not too long afterward though. I saw the two pretty close to the around the same time, but still think I saw film II first, but, being young enough, couldn't register that it was a "2" and so didn't ask about what the original was.
As for Journey of the Mists, I know that it approaches the original, though my biggest beef is wondering what was so dangerous about the Land of Mists itself. I mean, Dil and Ichy were in the cave and could have been met had Littlefoot gone through a different tunnel to somewhere else.
They encounter no other Sharpteeth there personally and one gets the impression that the Old One was just a big coward who got showed up by a bunch of kids.

My biggest argument: Why would Pterano be hanging around them if they were Sharpteeth? There's that. (Knowing how nuts Sierra can be, Pterano would have to be blind not to see that he could end up being eaten by that guy.)
What seems most in your favor though of the argument that they aren't Flatteeth are Sierra's attempts to attack Ducky with his beak, which seems weird for a Flattooth.
Unless Rinkus and Sierra are omnivores. Then his teeth would e sharper than a Leaf Eater's but not bad enough to freak Pterano out.
Anyway, it's not states what their type is so it's certainly possible that they are, at least in LBT universe, Leaf Eaters who just happen to have weird shaped teeth and extra pointy talons.

I'm going to admit, one of the reasons why, other than the cool plot for LBT 7, and Petrie's uncle, is that it has actual non-reforming Flattooth villains in it (I still believe that Rinkus and Sierra are Leaf Eaters. Others, Hyp for instance, have had teeth too.)
I guess maybe it's my falling in love with Chomper that made me do this, but I think that Sharpteeth should be portrayed better in future releases.

LBT Fanfiction / Land Before Time XV: The Threehorn Gathering

Ok, I decided that, instead of just a family reunion, I was going to have a Threehorn toughness contest called the Threehorn Gathering. It appears to be annual or whatnot. This cold time, it's being held in the Great Valley. (It also explains what the bad guys would be doing there as well as the Threehorns in general.)
CHAPTER THREE: ALFRED
"Are you all right Cera?" Tria asked her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. That creep hurt me." she grumbled.
"Yes, he's been a bully since he was a kid. He always picked on me. It never stopped." said Tryus.
"So, er, Papa, what bring you to the Great Valley? You're not fond of the kinds being together, so I find this rather surprising." said Tria.
"Ah, yes, should have mentioned that sooner. They're having the Threehorn Gathering here this cold time." said Tryus.
"The what?" asked Cera.
"The Threehorn Gathering is a toughness contest for Threehorns. They come from all around to compete to be known as the toughest." said Topps.
"Yes, I still find it annoying that you lost to Prong in the Threehorn Gathering many cold times ago." said Tryus.
"I won't this time!" said Topps boldly.
"Let's hope not." said Tryus with a hint of "or else I'll be disappointed again" in his tone of voice.
"I hope you get Angus this time. He got you last time." said Topps.
Tryus was still embarrassed about that. "This time round, I'm gonna knock him into the cold time, where, of course, I'll beat him there too." said Tryus boldly.
"I'll bet I can kick tush in this Threehorn Gathering!" said Cera, smirking.
"I doubt a girl can win!" came a voice.
Cera looked around, trying to find who dared to say such a thing. She saw a silver Threehorn boy of about her age. He had brown eyes. Like her, he was cocky and had a "better than thou" attitude, except, in his case, it was five times as bad as hers. "Oh yeah!" she said, air angrily coming out of her nostrils. She began to run in place, digging in her heels, about to charge.
"Bring it girly!" he said, sticking his tongue out at her in defiance. He too began to run in place, as if to charge. This only further infuriated Cera.
"What's your name wise guy?" asked Cera, a tone of fury in her voice.
"Alfred. What's yours tough girl?" he asked, a tone of superiority in his voice.
"Cera." she said, a tone of defiance in her voice. She began to move faster.
"Ut oh. This going to get ugly!" said Petrie, covering his eyes.
The two charged. Topps and Tryus gazed at the confrontation eagerly. "Get him Cera." said Topps. "Kick his tush!" said Tryus. Tria shook her head. Cera got her personality from her father, that was for sure.
WHAM! The two collided. It seemed to be a stalemate. "Yo're tougher than I thought girly!" said Alfred, impressed.
Cera was furious. "Stop calling me 'girly'!" she fumed. She began to push Alfred forward.
"Not bad. For a girl." said Alfred.
"Now he do it!" said Petrie, who knew how much trouble Alfred was going to be in. Petrie still had his eyes covered.
WHAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Cera rammed him right over. He fell to the ground.
"Yeah, not bad for a girl." said Cera, walking off, a tone of triumph in her voice. Alfred slowly got up. He tried to sneak up on her.
"Cera, look out!" yelled Littlefoot.
Cera turned around, bared her horns, and stood her ground. He ran right into her. He fell, as she had firmly rooted herself. "Hmmpppph!' she said, thumbing her nose up in the air. She stormed off.
"That's my granddaughter." said Tryus admiringly. Tria shook her head.
"I'd like to be in this cold time's Threehorn Gathering." said Cera. She had grand images in her head of being known as the toughest Threehorn of her age group. "And here's Cera, the winner of this cold time's Threehorn Gathering." said an imaginary Threehorn. Cera smirked at Littlefoot. Many Threehorns were chanting "Cera! Cera! Cera! Cera!" Alfred spoke and her thoughts were brought back suddenly to reality.
"Yes, I'm in it too. I'm going to get you there. We cannot have a girl win after all." said Alfred.
"I wouldn't doubt Cera if I were you." said Littlefoot warningly.
"Nobody asked your input, Flathead!" snapped Alfred.
Though Cera had called Littlefoot a Flathead on a few occasions herself, she now glared at Alfred. "Take it back!" she said angrily, again blowing air out of her nostrils.
"No!" shouted Alfred defiantly. Cera rammed him. However, this time he was ready and got her down. "Told you that a girl cannot win!' said Alfred, this time smirking with a look of triumph.
"We'll see about that!" said Cera defiantly.
"Come along Alfred." said Alfred's mother.
Alfred stuck his tongue out at Cera as he left. Cera retaliated by blowing a raspberry at him as he left.
"I'll show him!" Cera vowed angrily.
"Can me open me eyes now?" Petrie asked.

CHAPTER TWO: SHORTY AND DAYO
"How are things around here?" asked Bron.
"Oh, not much. We had some bad encounters with Sharp Beaks and met a new half-Sharp Beak friend named Ptero." said Littlefoot.
Bron shook his head. Littlefoot tended to make the strangest friends. "Oh, and we just found a new Longneck named Dayo. She came here alone and really weak. Something is bothering her but she won't talk about it." said Littlefoot.
Bron said nothing. What Littlefoot had said had triggered an old memory of his. Bron came across the Longnecks. They were all kids. However, a green one was the leader. He was weak. He had taken care of the others and had led them through hard places, looking for food. He appeared to have sometimes gone without to help the younger ones. "Where are your parents?" he asked then, assuming them to all be family at first glance. However, he soon saw that some of them were different types of Longnecks.
The young Longneck leader said "I don't want to talk about it."
"What's your name kid?" Bron asked.
"Shorty." the kid replied.
Bron returned his thoughts to the present. "Is she all right?" he asked.
"She is healthy again, though still troubled. She doesn't want to talk about it." said Littlefoot. Bron sighed.
