What if the reason we can't find the LBT lost footage is because we are going to invent a time machine and steal the lost footage before it disappears, therefore ensuring that it will disappear?

Another possible answer: the lost footage didn't exist. It's existense is a big lie made by Universal to spark people's curiosity.

So let's speculate some more, in the most serious way possible.
Another idea is that the lost footage is too incomprehensible for human beings, so Universal decided to keep it secret, to avoid triggering the end of the world.

Dudes,it's so obvious that I have no idea why I'm the only one who know this.Anybody who watch that lost footage dies within seven days.Nobody wanted to keep it a secret,it's just that everybody died who made a contact with it.Thus it must be in some grave.So if you want to find it you have to dig up some graves.Maybe werewolf-robot graves.
