What's your take on this author and his work?

So far I only read two of his books so I can't really give a competent statement on his works in general. The books I read were "The body" (and I must admit that this book had to be read for school) which was quite alright and enjoyable to read and "Misery". "Misery" really had me hooked right away. I finished the book in two days. It was very exciting, well written, and it also had a rather original topic.

I haven't read The Body, but Misery was the first SK book I ever read. It got me hooked up like you Malte =P I think you should read The Stand it's 1440 pages, but it's worth every paragraph.

So far, I'm reading into both It and Pet Sementary. Both of which are superb, in my opinion.

I've heard about Stephen King, but never read the books, or really plan to.

I haven't read those, yet. However I've heard they're very good.

Dolores Claiborne is the name of the one I'm reading right now, it's a bit boring, but it keeps you hooked. I want to dig into The Dark Tower collection, but there are many books and they aren't that cheep. And besides it's hard to come across the english version of the books \:

I hadn't planned to read "Misery" either. Actually horror or thrillers are absolutely not my genre (which is also why I have no definite plans to read another King book any time soon; which is not to say that I wouldn't read the book in case to book found me the way "Misery" did). But I was in the kind of mood where I had to read something. Misery was the first book within reach and once I had it in my hands I just couldn't put it away anymore.

Unless my school forces me to, I will never read any books for the sole purpose of recreation.  I have never even heard of this guy.

He's a pretty famous author. He wrote a lot of horror books such as "It", "Cujo", "Pet Sematry", and..I think he also wrote "Maximum Overdrive", or "Trucks". I forget what it was called.

He wrote scripts for movies like The Shinning and Rose Red, The Stand is a very famous novel that made it into a TV movie, it has this huge group of fans, and people who are completely crazy about them, like you guys in the US have those people who their lives is star wars and star trek (never got it though, star trek is lame and boring).

This is the problem with todays youth they are so hooked up on new technologies they don't bother to read anymore, oh well, it's their loss.

Do you know the series Boston Legal? He's Danny Crane. In Star Trek I think he was the captain or something, in the Simpsons they mock him a lot, because he has a very funny way of talking, he says a couple of words enphasises the last one, then stops and then speaks again in the same way, it's very silly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he Captain Kirk on the original Star Trek?  Either that or I'm going insane or am very tired (I haven't gone to bed yet :p)
