So, after geeking out on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic all weekend, I decided that we need a MLP roleplay on here.
I have a few basic premises for plot set up, and I'd like to get a vote once I get some interest on here.

I may be interested. Would you prefer it be close to the show where likely the characters will be mainly or all 1 gender. Like on the show their all girls, with only Spike being the only boy and he's not always around.

The basic Plot I had in mind was that Celestia has been taken by...something, the elements of harmony are rendered unusable, and that a new group has to go rescue Celestia with the help of Luna. And maybe the mane six.
Though that wouldn't probably start until later in.

The only oc idea I have is maybe a unicorn pony. not sure of a name or the character's gender. Need to work on the character a bit more to get some detail.
Not sure if I would make a 2nd oc or not. If so It would likely be a pegasus pony.

Also can folks be non ponies? We've seen a griffon in one episode and there is Spike, a baby dragon. Though those 2 species don't seem to be very common since we've not seen others. Just 2 adult dragons.

Alrighty, I guess I should probably post my OC's first, then...
Name: Haru
Type of Pony: Unicorn
Gender: Male
Cutie Mark: A moon and dagger in a shield
Appearance: Haru is a Deep Blue unicorn pony with a distinctive black horn and deep sea-blue eyes. His mane is a fiery orange, standing in sharp contrast to the rest of his body, and is kept in a short fringe in front, with the back kept free and of middle length. He usually wears a small gold collar with red accents around his neck, and wears a well-decorated silver saddle on his back. Remarkably, he carries a carved wooden sword on his back, which he can use with exceptional talent.
Personality: Kind, good-natured, and strong-willed, Haru has all the potential to be a great young stallion, but lacks the self-confidence and focus to reach that potential. Being the younger brother of one of the youngest colts to ever become part of Princess Celestia's guards, Haru often tries to break free of his brother's shadow, yet is afraid of having to stand on his own. Quiet, shy, and often very submissive to the wills of others around him, Haru often wonders how he'll ever be able to stand on his own. Even though he's a naturally talented magician, and has formidable training in self-defense from his brother, his own self-doubt often blinds him even to these gifts unless he sees one of his friends being threatened. When he has to protect them, he can call upon massive amounts of courage and resolve to protect them.
Relationships:
Fluttershy-- Of all the ponies that hold the elements of Harmony, Fluttershy is the one he feels closest to. The two of them are frequently seen in each other's company, often sleeping next to each other contentedly. Fluttershy often is the one to encourage Haru whenever he falls into one of his frequent bouts of depression or despair, often gently managing to assure him that he can keep moving forward. Haru, on the other hand, will often gently coax Fluttershy to stand up for herself more. Most everypony besides them can see that the two of them have deeper feelings then either of them are able to admit.
Rainbow Dash--Haru and Dash have an easygoing friendship and share an occasional competitive spark. Often, Dash is the one to convince him that he needs to lighten up and smile more, also frequently pushing him to be more assertive and confident in himself, occasionally going so far as to deliberately throw races and other competitions simply to boost Haru's shaky confidence. Dash has admitted that, if not for her attraction to other girls, she'd "totally date him".
Twilight Sparkle--Haru and Twilight Sparkle are often found reading or talking about recently-read books with each other, and seem to get along extremely well.
Rarity-- Haru is frequently the victim of Rarity's makeover attempts, and, while he enjoys her friendship, he is admittedly a touch frightened of her.
Applejack--Applejack oftentimes calls on Haru for help around the farm when her brother is either away or injured, leading some ponies to speculate that they are an "Item", much to both of their chagrins. They are close friends, with AJ often making Haru food when he's out on the nearby fields training, and he returns the favor by helping with the harvests.

Name: Thunderclap
Type of Pony: Earth
Gender: Male
Cutie Mark: Grey storm clouds
Appearance: A pure black stallion with a steel grey mane and tail. His eyes however are considered by many to be unnatural as his irises' are fire red, in stark contrast to the rest of his body. It is also noted by everypony that when he runs, he appears to be a living storm cloud. It is also said that if he stomps his hooves to the ground it sounds like a clap of thunder, and on occasion has been known to split the ground open, hence his name.
Personality: He is bold, confident and excessively aggressive almost to the point of being called crazy. While not always looking for a fight, he is almost always on edge waiting or wanting a reason to start a fight. And when there is something he wants, he is never above using fear and intimidation to get his way, although this has led to him losing most (if not all) of his friends, he still sees himself as someone worthy of being around Ponyville.
Relationships with Others:
Twilight Sparkle - Despite her initial fear of him, Twilight has after several accidental encounters with Thunderclap, finds him not to be scary, but more like a puzzle as his temperament can swing back and forth.
Fluttershy - Is above all else absolutly afraid of Thunderclap, not because of his looks or his personality but just because whenever he's near, it usually brings clouds and unusual weather along and scares off her animal friends.
Rarity - These two haven't had any extended interactions with each other, so they both have a neutral opinion about the other.
Rainbow Dash - She dislikes him, and sees him more as a friendly nemesis rather than anything else. She does love to annoy Thunderclap on occasion though, but also knows not to push him too far.
Pinkie Pie - Her personality utterly annoys Thunderclap which in turn would explain why he's so hostile towards her, but even then, she doesn't seem to notice and continues being Pinkie-pie.
Applejack - Despite his aggressive and mostly hostile demeanor Thunderclap and Applejack tend to see eye to eye on most things, including harvesting apples when the time comes. When Thunderclap is seen with a fellow pony, it's usually with Applejack simply to pass the time.

Appearance: light blue in color save the rainbow mane and tail and has pink eyes. keeps the Sky clear in Ponyville
Persionality:Loves to brag about her abilities, but is deeply loyal to her friends
Relationships
Applejack: is closest to Applejack of all the main ponies, the only one who Dash loves more than Applejack is Scootaloo, who in turn idolizes Dash
Sparkle: Doesn't care much for Sparkles intelligence, as she prefers speed and brawn.
Fluttershy: despite her meekness, dash and Fluttershy are close.
Pinkie PIe- has perhaps the least in common with Pinkie than any other main character.

Name: Daliya (Dal-EE-uh)
Type of Pony: Pegasus
Gender: Girl
Cutie Mark: Red Heart
Appearance: She is a black Pegasus with bright red eyes and a black mane and tail, but has a mixture of red and black for her wing feathers. The mane and tail are rather long for a Pegasus, the tail stretching down to the floor and flowing out a little on the ground when she walks and the mane reaches about a quarter of the way down her front legs. Daliya’s mane covers her left eye so that hardly anyone has ever seen it, except when she’s flying. She is rather average in weight and height.
Personality: Despite her dark appearance, she is a friendly pony that likes to enjoy life and think things out before acting. She is also very competitive when it comes to flying races. When she was a filly, her parents left her in the care of her aunt, who later had died, and once her aunt passed on, she decided to go make a life for herself. Daliya’s experience being alone, sometimes in the Everfree forest outside of Ponyville, has made it able for her get to know animal behavior and sometimes is even able to predict their next move based on body language alone and most of the time, she is right. She was also one of Princess Celestia’s advisors for animal behavior and wildlife in the castle. Usually likes to be alone most of the time, based on her solitary lifestyle, and usually stays quiet in a large group of people.
Relationships with the other ponies:
Twilight Sparkle: Usually, these two get along very well, often found both reading in Twilight’s library. Sometimes though, these two will clash together to try and prove that their own respective viewpoint is right. These two met at the castle and were soon friends after a few days of getting to know each other. Twilight’s her closet friend.
Rainbow Dash: Rainbow Dash and Daliya get along quite well and sometimes challenge each other to flying races and are evenly matched in speed, but Dash usually wind by a hair.
Fluttershy: Daliya’s almost as close as she is with Twilight because of Fluttershy’s quiet and gentle nature. She sometimes helps her with an animal if Fluttershy is out of ideas.
Rarity: She doesn’t often talk with Rarity as much as the other ponies, but they get along just fine when they do.
Applejack: Daliya’s always ready to help AJ with farm work when needed, and will help shoo unwanted critters away from the fields. They get along well and seem to be close friends.
Pinkie Pie: Gets annoyed by Pinkie’s personality easily, but they are still friends.

Yes, but Celestia and Luna are implied to be some form of deity-class being. Likely they're the only two in existence.

They'd have to be since they are well over 1,000 years old. And they don't look like ponies to me, though I'm no expert in that area of pony and horses.
We've seen some species besides ponies.
Earth pony, Pegasus pony, Unicorn pony. Dragons (Spike being a baby dragon), griffons, a Mule (in 1 brief scene, obviously meant to be a joke with Twilight Sparkle mentioning someone (forgot who) is as stubborn as a mule, then saying to someone off screen no offense, to which a mule said none taken), quite a few options.
I need to work on my character later today when I get back.

Appearance : Doesn't have much on him. He uses magic a lot to keep clean, dry, ect and to keep himself as much as possible like that, though he's not fussy. He is a bit thin looking overall.
Personality : A bit quiet, not easily frightened,
Relationships with Others : none as of yet since he's new in town, having just arrived.
Most of the magic he knows is self taught. Some was taught by his parents. Some by his reading books and trying stuff out mentioned in the books. Some by experamenting based on stuff he's read or based on stuff he already knows. He may have a book or 2 in sattlebags. Maybe a grimoire or book of shadows sort of thing. Maybe copied from his parent's book with notes he added himself maybe.
He decided to travel around a bit to see more of things.
His family was very poor. They are use to using magic for all sorts of stuff to suppliment & make up for that fact.
(( some of the spells I may get ideas from d & d and gurps spells. Gurps has some unusual spells like cloud vaulting. That is using clouds like a trampoline to travel long distances.))

As for their ages, I assumed they were somewhere around 14-16 in human terms, and equistria has no highschool. Just elementary and maybe jr high mixed in. With some like Twilight sparkle going through more specialized training. Some like Pinkie learning a trade or something. and some like Rarity having already learned it either finishing her training before the show started or it was all self taught, or a mix of the 2.

Well, I kinda have the plot set up in two parts.
The first bit will just be getting to know the characters, set up how they get along, stuff like that.
Then Princess Celestial will get captured, and the force that corrupted Luna into Nightmare Moon will surface, and things will get serious.

Personality: While his is friendly he has absloute confidence in his magical abilities which he can usually be found practicing and improving his magical abilities and reading.
Relationships with Others:
Twilight Sparkle - Though he gets along with her the two often disagree with eachother.
Pinkie Pie - Though he think she is rather crazy he still gets along with her and helps out at the sugar cube.
Applejack - He admires her attitude and her honesty.
rarity - He thinks that she could lighten up a bit but the two can be seen talking once in a while.
Rainbow dash- While he considers her a bit of a show off he admires her loyality and her talents.
Fluttershy - He admires her ability with animals and can sometime be seen helping her with animals.

Cutie Mark: N/A (she's a bit different as, well, she hasn't even gotten her's, even though she is around the same age as, say Twilight is)
Appearance: She's a dark grey, almost black pony, which represents her unluckiness. She has an amulet as well that she does at times wear, trying to figure out what, if anything, the amulet even does.
Personality: That's just it with her, to explain things first, she is a bit of an unlucky pony, meaning, bad things tend to happen to her. Example would be, she may show up at Rarity's place for example, all mudy, cobwebs and twigs stuck to her body and all soaking wet....and on a fine day too for that matter. However, she is a determined pony too, as she would still want to get things done, no matter what happens to herself. Though, in a nutshell, she can be, well....complicated....
Relationships with Others: Destiny doesn't really favour others above, well, others sort of thing....though Pinkie Pie does tend to annoy her at times....
By the way, who plays who of the canon characters? Just so I know for references and such. One group I am interested in is the Cutie Mark Crusaders, anyone playing them? As I might get Destiny to join them....reluctently in the end XD

Well I have a few OC'S who I could put in. But, if you need one of the Mane six I could give them a try. I am pretty sure I could nail at least 4 of them down pat . Apple Jack and Twilight may be my hardest. Especially Apple Jack. But, other then those two I believe I could do a great job as Pinkie Pie, Rainbow, Rarity, or Fluttershy.

I think most are in 2 chariots. Or there may be more then 2. I assume they are the type seen in part 1 of the season 1 pilot that we see Twilight & Spike riding in taking them to Ponyville.

Maybe her reason could be she may like to help other ponies to get their cutie mark, if she doesn't care whether she has one or not and doesn't mind the teasing she may get, or anyone who teases her gets beat up. I expect that is how applejack and rainbowdash were before they got theirs, anyone who teased them got beat up.

I would guess most have their cutie mark by a certain age, but I would assume it may take others longer to get theirs. Maybe a special event like the sonic rainboom that Rainbow Dash made that got the others theirs hasn't happened to her yet.
Even if Twilight isn't there I'm sure some background ponies could mention they saw her and some other ponies get into royal chariots and were heading towards the castle. Not sure if the castle has a name or not.

Well, I'm not exactly worried about Twilight not being there, after all, the Cutie Mark Crusaders are around, so that is something XD
Besides, Destiny does have a reason as to why she has no cutie mark.....but I'll reveal within the rp sometime.

Also, are we allowed to create a pony based on yourself? And I meant by personality of course (because, unfortunately, it seems that writing about myself is somewhat of a challenge. So, I can only base characters with similar personalities that mirror my own), plus even if the character was exactly like me, my actual name would seem fairly odd. X3
Which brings me to trying to find a legitimate name for my OC, which I might add is female... *Starts searching the internet for any unused and original MLP:FiM names* :D

I would just say go for it, I don't even think there's any sort of limitations at all to it. Heck, I think I already broke the cutie mark rule with my character. Same age as say, Twilight is, but no cutie mark on her flank XD

Yes, but still... how often do you find someone being named Czarrhina (say "Serena")? I don't even know anybody who has a name like mine! :DD
Plus, I was never completely comfortable with role-playing any characters who had my name when it wasn't really me... It's just I'm not entirely used to doing that sort of thing, and I'm too used to creating characters who aren't exactly like me! So, I'll just call my character "Chocolate Brownie" for now, or at least until I change my mind about that name... :lol

Hehe yeah, I think the normal names to me are Luna, Twilight and Sweetie Belle. The others are indeed odd, but ah well. Doesn't mean your oc's name has to be an odd name.

Sorry for my horrible grammar and for the fact that I re-used my PokÈsona's character sheet! But, I'm better at details than I am for grammar and sentence structure, and I couldn't think of anything that is close to describing my personality accurately. Also, I will provide a drawing of my OCC sometime in the furture. :)

A single paintbrush accompanied by a piece of written parchment and a ëfloating pencil’, in which all three symbolize Chocolate Brownie’s artistically inclined personality and talents in art and writing.
Appearance:
Mane/Tail: Black.
Eyes: Dark brown.
Body Colour: A light tan-ish mocha.
Height: She is shorter than the average pony around her age, only standing around the height of 2' 9".
Personality:
She is overall very kind and gentle to others, however, that image is changed once her values and morals are threatened, if that is the case then the young filly will do whatever she can to defend her views and opinions (however, she will never go as far as to physically hurt someone). But, the young pony may be too into the heated subject and may seem illogical as the conversation carries on, however the young girl tries not to be harsh or rude when she is close to snapping --which is an occurrence that rarely happens-- towards her opponent in the discussion.

Alright, I has a second character for this RP:
Name: Dawn
Age: Around the same age as the CMC
Type of Pony: Pegasus
Cutie Mark: She too has none as of yet, then again, she muck around with trying to get one
Personality: Dawn is a bit of a daredevil Pegasus, likes to do a few things a bit extremely in a sense....she loves using Rainbow Dash's flight launcher thing to fling herself into the air....so that she can learn to fly properly. She can't fly for long periods of time either, but when she uses the launcher, she does wear a helmet for that matter....esentially as it doesn't usually go according to plan.
Oh also....she has a bit of a crush....on Apple Bloom :p

Hey, a small question. I know Twilight and co are heading to Canterlot for something, but what is it that they're doing there exactly? Is it suppose to the Grand Galloping Gala? Or just a normal visit to see Princess Celestia?
I just ask as I do have something I want to do there as well, but it's not anything evil, no new characters, just something I had in mind is all....which could make their trip there that much more interesting :smile

From my recallection, and I may be wrong, the folks present were invited to the castle by Princess Luna, who I think came for a visit.
Though I think Twilight was a bit nervous about going so I think Spike wrote and send off a letter asking of Princess Celstria and Twilght's parents can at least meet her when she arrives since she's a bit nervous about visiting.

Now, as I have no clue on what's with Starfall the last day or so, and that I can't contact him via PM. As he did state that he hated the show itself, that may be a problem if he does not also wish to participate in this RP either, as I know Twilight and co are in the middle of something with his characters.
I guess in the next day or so, if he still does not wish to participate in this anymore, I shall take it off his hands instead and well, if no one else disagrees, reboot the RP from scratch. I mean, just cause he hates the show, doesn't mean others still can't have fun with it.
Don't worry though, all characters will still be kept and the likes, just redo the whole plotline ordeal if this goes through.

I for one would like to thank you Serris for taking an interest in this Role Play. It means alot that you would ask to join. As it turns out, since I am now playing the role of Princess Celestia you could for example play the captain of her royal guard as I'm sure the guards for the princesses would be highly militaristic in nature. However the choice is up to you.
Now as for Cannon characters being played here is the current list:
GVG: Twilight, Princess Celestia
Starfall: Luna, Applejack, Trixie, Gilda
Nick22: Rainbow Dash
Kor: Spke
MrDrake: Fluttershy
As far as I can count, that leaves Rarity and Pinkie pie. Although I may take control of Pinkie for the simple fact I'm playing her in another RP on a different site and it's a great deal of fun.

What is the tech level? Show or modern tech hybridized with magic?

And here is where the line gets blurred a bit. I would say keep the technology simply, swords, shields and bows/arrows, but... with the way Equestria is portrayed, magic can be a powerful weapon in it's own right. I supposed a sword made entirely of pure magic would work, as well as a shield, and even flinging arrows, but that is just for the unicorn and alicorn races.
Even the pegasi ponies have control of the weather, and that alone is a true fighting force.

The Pegasi guards do appear disciplined and they do wear armor. They may be like the Swiss guards who guard the pope or whatever they are called the guys you see at attention in Britain that some folks get to try to laugh or sneeze but stand at attention, forgot what they are called. Where both of those are a type of military and are trained and are disipline trained but those are mainly ceremonial type of positions in equestria.
That is if you want a more military style character. If Princess Celestria will be meeting the group going to the castle then some of her guards would likely be nearby. I don't recall if the pegasi who pull the chariots that we've seen once or twice are part of that same guard thing or if that's a separate thing.

Sounds good. Jin is actually a guard captain, in a way. He leads the second divison, which is Luna's personal vanguard. Smaller, and due to Jin not being a very serious leader, a very informal group. Gilda, Trixie, and Jin are the main three members of the group. And Jin is a low-ranked commander. He still answers to Celestia's captain. Also, he uses magic weapons, in contrast to Haru.

For a young colt I was thinking maybe one that likes to do a balance of some physical stuff and maybe some reading, maybe uses some in line skates, or is that to much like someone else's character. It's the only idea I've had so far.

Appearance: Often wears in line skates so he can get around faster, but does not wear them all the time. Also has a pair of enchanted shoes that let him walk on snow & ice without slipping. & another pair that is enchanted to let him walk on clouds. His mane and tail hair are often a mess & unbrushed. He is about the same age as the CMC's are. His body color is a dark green with is mane and tail color being red.
Personality: Can get impatient at times. Though he does try to maintain a balance between physical & the more cerabral stuff like reading.
Relationships with Others: Hasn't met the others yet.

Alrighty, here's a bit more insight into Dawn's personality, which you guys may have picked up on. Basically, on the outside, she tries to act all tough and all, but inside, she's just a sweet little filly. Especially lately, giving off a fangirl squeal in regards to having been able to meet the princess.

And to give some insight into Trixie and Gilda, now that they're royal guards.
Gilda's still coarse, informal, and often expresses herself with a biting wit and a sardonic facade, but she's not all bad. She's loyal, brave, and trying to improve.
Trixie's still a drama queen, but has mellowed out a lot, now that she has a real, important task to keep her occupied. She is actually quite a prodigious magician, and, with Luna's help, may soon catch up to Twilight in skill.
