Title: Award voting 2011
Post by: Malte279 on June 18, 2011, 11:22:39 AM
For the first time in quite a few years I have been active in an RPG and feel competent to issue a vote for the RPG Award. Campion1 has been active and created an interesting character in that RPG. But the member I who gets my vote has been really very active indeed. Not only has he created and played several interesting characters on his own but he also took over a character from another player who decided to leave the game. Outside the GOF in chats and via emails he has been working really hard to keep the RPG going by motivating the other players and in addition to all that he has brought on the plot of the RPG too. For all that I feel that Myrkin well deserves my vote for the Role Play Gamer award.

Continuous as this vote may seem this is also because of the constancy in his good job in the field of feedback. Ever since he elevated feedback for art and fictions to a whole new level in the GOF he has continued to keep up that excellent work in giving out praise as well as really helpful suggestions for improvement and all that in spite of the fact that it is taking up a lot of time for him. Take this vote as a very positive feedback when for the Feedback Award I vote for you Pangaea.

I'll post more awards later but right now I am just going to check out the new board messages before once again I got to run (this is a somewhat stressful day on my end ;)).

Fan Art Award:
Where would I like to go with this? The land? The sea? You know what, I think I choose the amazing Sky. His talent amazes me. He is not only masterful with the ideas he gets in his head, but he can work wonders with ideas from others as well. His artwork has certainly made him popular, but it hasn’t gone to his head. He’s still the humble man he always was, kind as ever. Sure, we don’t see much from him nowadays, as his business has overtaken him, but his talent is an undying light to be seen for all time. I find his pictures to be simply breathtaking. He uses so much detail but at the same time does not copy from the styles in the movies. He uses his own style that makes his work unique and beautiful all at the same time. No matter how creative his ideas get, they are always done with enough realism to make what is seen believable. Truly a master of the paint brush, my vote goes to sea. Err, Sky.

Feedback Award:
Her feedback comes from the heart. Is isn’t very long, but valuable gifts can come in small packages. She truly knows just what to say to people. For example, look here:

Quote
I don't know how the heck you were able to do it, but you made me cry. Again.

I LOVED this! It was very, very touching and sweet. I really loved the father son moment between Pterano and Devon in Lost in a Forest, but this just made it ten times better! It's so sweet how Pterano and Devon get along.

Once again, I LOVED this and congrats for making me cry in a story twice.

It is comments like these that make authors feel appreciated and glad to be a writer. This young lady has a spark for comments that make people glad they are who they are and that they’ve done what they’ve done. If there was a disease that made people frown, LBTDiclonius would be the one to find the cure based off of her impressive track record of bringing light to the products of others. She reminds me of the bard class from Final Fantasy, who’s specialty is going around giving buffs (increases to a stat like strength or magic power). I hated what had become of my writing, but she PMed me and made me feel special again. When it comes to bringing joy to the fan work of this forum, it is her face that shines like the bright circle.

Friendly Member Award:
I think the friendliest member of the GoF is Littlefoot. He is always so nice to everyone, even when they’re mean to him, like Cera and the bullies. Furthermore, he displays impressive- Oops, sorry. I forgot this was the GoF forum voting, not the GoF from the movies voting. Gee, with so many friendly people, that makes this one a lot tougher…

Three days go by…

Well, my tough decision finally ends with Pangaea. If someone on the forum could call him mean, then we must be celebrating the annual opposite day. He treats others with a cheery disposition and smiles, no matter how sad or tired he may actually be at the time. He cares about people, and it shows. It isn’t for personal prestige, I assure you, as he is just as friendly in PM’s as he is in public. Well, unless you were blind, that is. I think to sum him up, I will say, “Pangaea, a true friend to the Gang of Five forum.”

Helpful Member Award:
I nominate Pangaea. No, no, this isn’t dÈj‡ vu. I just don’t see a single person specializing in a single area all the time. His energy reserves are attached to the soul of the forum. Getting pictures, answering questions, encouraging others, offering advice, keeping the GoF refrigerator stocked with ketchup, he does it all. Well, maybe not one of those, but you get the idea. “Pangaea, will you help me with something?” “I refuse.” I suddenly sit up in bed, realizing it was all just a bad dream. He is compelled to assist others when he can. What more can we ask for in a member? Slay the black dragon in the after midnight section? Come on, I wanted a serious answer here. … No one else? That’s what I thought.

Philosopher Award:
Excuse me for a moment before I give my voting decision. I just about finished digging a ten foot hole. Just about, just about, there! I’m done. Now let me make a little comparison here, and… Ugh, drat! No matter what deep thing I find or make, they’re just never as deep as Malte279’s thought process. I give up. He has powerful analytical skills that are quite the force to be reckoned with. He can change the general view of a topic completely around with but a single post. When he has a point to make, he doesn’t just make it. He makes everyone see why it is such a valid point. He doesn’t just give text book answers either. He combines facts with his logic to make a potent persuasive brew. If you want to outdo him in a debate, better bring more than a tiny sword and shield, or you’ll be far outmatched.

Proactive Member Award:
Someone has been roaming the forum, filling it with threads that challenge our minds while bringing pleasure to our hearts. She gets directly to the point and addresses important issues that deserve consideration while preventing boredom with her presentation. We are all graced with the presence of the much-adored, caring soul of the GoF.

My description was weak?
Of whom do I speak?
Well do not be daft.
I clearly speak of Saft!

She says a lot on the forum, and her contributions bring about so many deep and lengthy discussions. She is a fascinating individual. She has so much knowledge that she shares with us in open ways so that we can be a part of it. She truly does more than her fair share of making the forum more intricate.

Role Play Gamer Award:
He is not only an extremely active role player who knows what he’s doing and makes any game a pleasure, but he also earnestly seeks to make his section grow and mature. He works so hard to recruit new role players. A blossoming rose that plants seeds all of his own. He takes his job very seriously. That section isn’t just some words on a screen to him. It’s a whole world that he has put under construction to make into a more suitable habitat. He cares about the role playing games. He cares about the rules. And most importantly, he cares about the people who are in them. Let’s all have a moment of silence in reverence for this great player… Eh, forget that! Go, Nick22, go!

Role Play Gamer-I cast my vote for Nick22. He's been in a lot of rps, and he's great at both coming up with ideas and listening to the ideas of others.

Proactive Member-I vote for Kor, as I see him post in topics on all branches of the GOF, and he's always in good spirits about it.

Friendly Member-I vote for LBTDiclonius, she's always nice and funny, and in general she shows a lot of optimism in her posts.

Philosopher-I vote for Malte279, I almost feel an explanation isn't required for this one.  In pretty much all of his posts, he displays a sheer wisdom and calmness with expressing his views, and, agreeing with TFS, he's an expert analyzer.

Helpful Member-I vote for Nick22, as he was always willing to help when I had a GOF-related question.

Regrettably, I did not really keep up with Fan Art in the recent months, so I can't really cast a vote in this one.

Feedback-I vote for Pterano. Whenever he reviews a fanfic, he always uses constructive criticism, so he never comes off as bashing or insulting.

For the Proactive Member Award, I nominate Mumbling! He's taking the time to run the GoF's very first Fanfiction Awards. I'm Really Excited for the Fanfiction Awards, and happy that it's starting the year I joined. It looks like it'll be a big task, and a lot work will have to be done to ensure it's success, but it's Mumbling's ambition that is finally making it work! I hope it all goes well, and We can have another fanfiction awards next year!

For the Feedback award, I actually already had someone in mind (You know who you are!) Sadly, he hasn't been here long enough to be eligible, so I'll instead nominate Pangaea! He says he's not on as much as he should be, that he spends too much free time doing nothing when he could be on here, ect, but that's not the way I see it. I see a member that is always willing to give a critique when asked for one. Not only that, but his critiques are fantastic. He provides detailed analysis's of other people's work, so they can improve it. He just doesn't post "Awesome review!" or "I didn't really like this chapter", but he goes into why, and he offers great Grammar help as well. Also, he never sounds like he's just bashing something. He might be a little slow, but it's worth the wait!

I'll have to do the others later.

My role player nomination would have go to Myrkin. Not only can he write convincing characters and story, but he can manage over five of them at a time. Malte would be good mention for this as well, being great at keeping a character interesting through dialogue.

Speaking of him, Malte would get my nomination for the fanart reward. He's skilled in almost every area, including drawing, coloring, crafting etc. His effort, understanding of and dedication to LBT earns him his stripes in the fandom. Another mention would be Sky, who of course is an excellent artist.

The next one could be a hard choice for me with all the people I've met on GoF, but my Friendly member away would go to DarkHououmon. I've had some good discussions with her on MSN, and we can tend to agree on almost everything. Her posts are always good to come by on the GoF and she keeps thing fair on what she's talking about, usually having a neutral position on topics. I could think of a few other people to mention coming close to this, namely Mumbling, Petrie, and Excalibur.

While the next could obviously go to Malte, I think my nomination for philosopher award could go to Titanosaur. He and I would know it's very odd to say that, but I think his latest developments have allowed him to manifest his own outlooks on life overall and people with his own beliefs.

Pangaea would take both my nominations for Helpful and Feedback award. I don't really know the guy, but it's nice to read his detailed responses to others stories and whatnot. I just had to think of someone, sorry >.<

I couldn't think of anyone for proactive, so I would like to skip it.

There you go. Hope I brightened your day with my commentary and votes.

Fanart:Vote would have to be for Sky as his artwork is fantastic and is highly skilled.  It is always a great treat to see his artwork and see the improvements that have been made in every piece.:)

Feedback:  Yet again for the second year running, the vote would have to go for Pangaea.  Not only from the well thought out constructive criticism that he has provided people on this forum but for the sheer effort that from the How are you feeling thread, he really does put his all into it.  That is sheer commitment and pure helpfulness to the community.:)

Speaking of which; Helpful Member: Given the amount of effort and commitment that Pangaea puts through in regards to the Feedback, I have to give another vote for him.  It is very rare to find people who are willing to actually to take the time to be helpful in providing the type of feedback that is required.  Not many people can do it, not in the way that Pangy does even if his commitment does tire him out.  Furthering this, from what I have seen he is always willing to offer help to people who require it.:)

Philosopher:  Ah this was a tough call and something which Plato would be proud of.;)
As Malte, TheFriendlySharptooth, DarkHououmon and a couple of others have applied deep and often thought provoking comments that are well thought out and practical for the extent of a good and healthy debate.  However, although I do not really know him that well Jansenov's posts have always tended to be deep and thoughtful.  It will be interesting to see further posts from him in the future.:)

Friendly Member:Ah again, this is rather difficult but in recent terms, I do feel that LBTDiclonius deserves the vote.  Recently we have begun to talk a little bit on IM and she's really kind and bubbly (Friendly; sorry English term) and I can see that even on the forum, no matter what is happening for her.:)
-------------------------------
Er, that's it for now. :oops
I'll have to think about the proactive award.
I can't vote for the RPG award though....

A lot more difficult than the preceeding two awards are all the others to decide about for me because I feel we really have quite a few members deservant of those, but consequently the votes will mention many more members even though in the end the vote must go to one. Helpfulness is a virtue found among many GOF members. Michael (The Friendly Sharptooth) and Katie (Saft) have both been helpful for me when it comes to talking about matters of real life. Kacie (DarkHououmon) too has offered and given help to me on many ocassions. I am also very much obliged to the Chronicler who has been very, very helpful for me in providing me with so many materials and interesting articles refering to the 150th anniversary events of the American Civil War. Thank you very much for that. The decision really isn't easy for me, but there has also been a very recent act of helpfulness that was certainly very laborious and time intensive and without which there wouldn't be this vote today. Upon reading the call for images for this years awards he took the effort to create a great number of screenshots well suited for the awards and upload them to the internet. Given the amount of time, effort and work involved not merely on my own behalf but on the behalf of everyone in the GOF I give my vote for the Helpful Member Award to Pangaea.

There is more than one member deserving of being praised for his or her proactivity. Michael (The Friendly Sharptooth) most recently showed proactivity in suggesting measures that will be taken to reanimate the various quiz games on the GOF. It is another member's proactivity however that above all will be noticed because the results of her proactivity have been asked for by many GOF members in the past. I'm afraid I have become somewhat notorious for my reluctance about a fanfiction award based on my perception of lack of true to LBT kind of stories. So it was not merely proactivity but also the readiness to assert against my skepticism not to mention a lot of work in creating a rule system on the basis of which there will be a fanfiction award vote next month by which time again her proactivity will manifest into more work for her. For all that my vote for the Proactive Member Award goes to Iris (Mumbling).

Time for my votes.

Fanart Award ~ For this award, I really see only a clear winner for this one. Although, I had another one come up a very close second, but the person I’ve chosen just stood out more to me. I’ve seen his artworks and to be honest, he’s one of the best I’ve seen so far. So, for the fanart award, I chose Sky.

Feedback Award ~ This award was really a no brainer for me. In the short time I’ve been here, he’s always been the one to give artists and authors constructive criticism on works of fanart and fanfiction alike. Even though he’s a little late for them sometimes, he always manages to sit down and do it and does a great job at them as well. For this award, Pangaea gets my vote.

Friendly Member Award ~ He’s been there so many times for me. Helped me with my problems on MSN and GOF and helped me out of them. I view this wonderful guy as one of my closest friends, if not the closest, on GOF and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. So, for the guy who personally took the time to welcome to me to the forum, The Friendly Sharptooth gets my vote.

Helpful Member ~ This one was probably the hardest for me to decide who should get it. There’s been a lot of really nice and helpful members here, and it was really a hard choice, but for me, the guy who helped me the most on here and who I think deserves this has to be Pangaea.

Philosopher Award ~ The person I have nominated for this award has only been here for a few months, like, maybe a month after I joined, and he’s shown very good insight and reason in his posts. He’s also been very kind in them as well and if someone disagrees with him, he’s always friendly and takes the problem with care and they get everything sorted out. For this reason, jansenov gets my vote.

Proactive Award ~ This person has been pretty proactive indeed, going around the forum to give helpful information and making threads and the very first fanfiction award, who most people gotta thank her for. This vote of mine goes to Mumbling.

Role Play Gamer Award ~ The person I have nominated for this has been very active in the RP section of the board and takes great care of his RP’s and the people in them. He tries to make everything fair and fun and for this award, I have nominated Nick22.

Good luck to everyone! :)

I'm not exactly qualified to judge many of the sections on the awards.  In fact, I'm really only able to say anything about one.

The Roleplay section.  And for that, I'm going to have to nominate...
Myself.
Actually, I kid.  I'm really going to nominate Nick22 for the award.  After all, he's created some of the most memorable characters and settings for a lot of RP's, and he does a good job of drawing people in and getting them involved.  He rocks!

Proactive:Will have to be for Pangaea.   He's always given helpful information and recently helped to scour his LBT DVD's for screenshots for the awards. He really has given his all into this forum....

I've also had a look at the RPG section;
RPG:  Nick22 is always one who seems to always have an active role in the various role plays.  Not only moderating (as in answering people's questions such as the TLK RP and general guidance) but also coming up with ideas and generally making it fun and enjoyable for others.

~Role Play Gamer Award - I want to get this one out of the way first since it'll be the easiest for me.  Anyways, I must skip this one since I never really participate in the Role Playing Games of this forum.  Since I have no knowledge of what's going on there, I cannot make a proper vote.  This is why I'm skipping it.

~Fanart Award - Oh boy!  This was a tough one to decide on!  To be honest, I struggled with this one.  For this one, I have to go with Sky for his amazing skills.  There's no doubt he has great talent.  In fact, I would've never known his talent without the aid of my contest I threw last year.  It opened new members for me to explore and keep more of an eye on.  I know I've said that I'm not one who can really judge in the area of art, but to be honest, I don't think there's a more deserving candidate.

I'm going to have to give more thought for the rest before I can vote on them.  So I'll stop for now.

Fanart

Though I do enjoy the artwork of many folks on here.  To many to name here since if I did I would forget some of the ones to list.  This time I'll choose   Sky since he is among the best of the artists and has been posting the past year some pictures as well as trying to improve and willing to alter ideas an older designs.
Title: Award voting 2011
Post by: LBTFan13 on June 20, 2011, 12:43:59 AM
Fanart Award - This was a really tough one for me, because there are a lot of really great artists here on GOF. I really had to dig deep for this one, and I have to say this person never ceases to amaze me with his artistic talents. For making creations that almost look and feel like they were drawn from Universal itself, my vote goes to Sky.

Feedback Award - Again, another tough one for me. I'd have to say there's been quite a few people that have given plenty of feedback for me in numerous occasions, but if I had to chose one, then I would have to go with the person who gave me the most feedback on how to create the Power Rangers RP that was a long work in progress, on top of providing feedback on just about everything here on GOF. My vote goes to Kor.

Friendly Member Award - This one is the toughest one for me. Just about everybody on GOF is friendly and have been friendly to me ever since I joined GOF in 2008. I feel like over the course of these three years, I've known you all as If I've known you my entire life. However, if I must choose one person, then I will choose somebody who I know I can always count on if I ever need to talk to somebody for my problems. My vote goes to Cancerian Tiger

Helpful Member Award - Again, another tough one for me. So many people have been helpful throughout GOF, but there is one person who I think really deserves this award. This user stepped up to the plate to take the helm of the "In the Land Before Time" RP, and he has done a tremendous job of it so far. My vote goes to Pangaea.

Philosopher Award - Unfortunately, I must skip out on this award. I haven't really been as active with discussions as I would like to be, and I know that there are a bunch of worthy recipients for this award.

Proactive Award - This one almost seemed like a no brainer to me. This user became a mod for GOF, and she has done a tremendous job with her duties as a mod. She helps keep things going smoothly throughout all the board, but where she really shined for me was the inclusion of the Fanfiction Award. Much debate went into how such an award should be run, and she took so much time and detail into making sure that everything worked out in the end. My vote goes to Mumbling.

Role Play Gamer Award - Yet again, another really tough one for me. There are so many great RPer's here on GOF it's crazy. I know that I've longed for this award for a long tie now, but as active as I am there are certainly those who are even more active than I am. One in particular I seem to find in a large number of RP's throughout the different categories. This person is an active member of my Power Rangers RP and also in many others that I wish I could be a part of. My vote goes to Nick22.

Fanart Award: Malte279
I forget how recently he began to use the computer screen instead of paper for some of his fanart, but I have to say that it seems to be working out quite well so far. He has mentioned that some of his drawings go along with a fanfiction that he is either planning to write or is currently writing (I'm not sure which it is), and after just seeing those drawings, I can't wait to read that fanfic. Sky is also worth mentioning for fanart. Not only do some of his recent works go along with Caustizer's fanfic "Far Away Home", but he has also recently decided to make some changes to his Wingtail characters to make them seem less humanoid, and I agree that the new designs look much better. It's never too late to make improvements.

Feedback Award: Pangaea
There's no denying how deep and thoughtful his reviews and comments are on everyone's fanart and fanfiction. Let's face it, nobody is perfect, not even Pangaea. But whenever he spots a flaw that could be improved upon, he points it out and offers suggestions on how you can make it better, all without sounding rude in any way at all. I'd even go so far as to say that, without him, some of the fanfics we're voting on this year (including my own) might not end up getting as high a rating as they actually will.

Friendly Member Award: Caustizer
This was a very though choice for me to make. No single member really stood out to me as the friendliest (except maybe Pangaea, but I won't vote for him here to avoid sounding like I worship him). With such an incredibly level playing field, my vote really comes down to just one incident. A couple months ago, I falsely believed Caustizer would review my fanfic as often as Pangaea did. When he didn't, I sent him a PM to remind him. He did what I asked, but also explained to me that the way I had asked him probably wasn't such a good way to get what I wanted. His advice to me was that I should try to take a more positive approach. (do something they'll appreciate, don't take the direct approach) His advice showed me that, even after three years here on GoF, I still had a few things to learn about being a better member. As proof that I learned from this advice, I never bothered him again about my fanfic.

Helpful Member Award: Pangaea
As I've already mentioned, he does a very good job with the reviews and comments he makes on fanart and fanfiction, regardless of how long it takes him to do so. Sometimes he volunteers, other times he's been asked for the helpful advice, but no matter how it starts, he always stays committed to offering helpful advice. No matter how limited his available time might be, he will never break his voluntary promise to help any (selected) artist or author.

Philosopher Award: Malte279
Once again, this long-time member proves himself more than capable enough to make you really think about a topic, be it LBT or something a little more controversial. Sometimes he mentions certain ideas that some of us may have never even thought of before, but definitely make a lot of sense. While there are some members who also make very thoughtful comments, none seem to be able to stand out more than Malte.

Proactive Award: Mumbling
Having joined GoF before she did, I was around long enough to see her go from ordinary member to mod to admin, a position that you really have to earn on such a good forum like this. Also, as a lot of others have already pointed out, she has helped make it possible for us to have a fanfiction award for the first time this year, something that I personally am very glad to see.

Role Play Gamer Award: Nick22
This one was kind of hard for me since I'm active in only one RP, and one topic does not make a whole section of the forum. However, after taking the opportunity today to be here most of the day, I noticed (or perhaps was reminded) just how active the RP section really is (and why RPs are the only topics on GoF that I don't read, since it's just way too hard for me to keep up with all of them). One of the names that kept on coming up was Nick's, so I decided to go with the crowd and vote for him. I would also like to mention Pangaea again here for keeping alive the one and only RP that I'm active in. If I were in his place, I would have begun to consider calling it quits by this point, so good job on not giving up hope for this RP.

Friendly Member Award For this award I'll vote for Chiletrek since of all those on the forum he's the one I have the most time spent talking to online on IM.  Though there are others I have fun rping with and such on the forum,he's the one I talk to the most often of those still active on the forum.

-------

Proactive Award For this award I'll vote for brekclub85
Since he's one of those who has started and runs many varied types of rp threads on the forum, which gives those who enjoy rping different types of rp that they can rp in, even if only 1 attracts them.

----

Role Play Gamer Award For this one I'll choose to vote for nick22 since he runs many of the long running rp's I have a lot of fun rping in.  There are other rp's done by other folks I've had fun in, but his are the longest running.  Though altogether there are many varities of rps for folks to rp in.

Feedback Award: My vote goes to Jrd89 for his totally awesome reviews for my stories. They may be a bit over the top sometimes but he just gets into the feel of the chapter and speaks his mind! I totally admire that about him. This award was very hard to vote for because I have other amazing reviewers too. But since he never got a vote, my vote goes to Jrd89.

ROLEPLAYING AWARD  i have had the pleasure of getting to know a number of rpers through my various rps on here.some of them I'd like to name include Kor, Brekclub85, Serris and Starfallraptor. it is not easy to pick one out of those i have listed and others besides. But I would like to give my nomination this year to KOR Kor is always willing to discuss plans for his characters and his knowledge odf older cartoons is invaluable for a rp like Toon world, where you get many old carttons running around.

Unfortunately while I tend to lurk around the forums like a shark, I still haven't participated in enough of the threads to give a honest award about them. So okay, here we go. :smile

Feedback Award: Now this one was a little easier for me personally this year. This award is going to Pangaea He always gives honest reviews on both Fanfiction and Artwork and he never misses a chance to give praise where it is due, and to give a gentle nudge or comment where it is needed when he sees something amiss.

Roleplay Gamer Award: Again, this award is always the hardest for me, as there are so many talented RPer's among us here in the GOF, but this year in particular, I am proud to give this award to Nick22. He's one of the few members who've been RPing longer than I have. :DD And his recent inclusion to so many Rp's has earned him this award.

Philosopher Award: As always, the recipient of this award really should be a professional Philosopher and Historian. So without any further consideration our friend Malte279

FEEDBACK AWARD this award is designed to honor those who take the time to not only answer any questions you might have, but to do so in such a way that it is unlikely that you will forget the answrs once they finish explaining it to you. While there are a number of posters who have given me feedback, My vote this year goes to THE FRIENDLY SHARPTOOTH not only is TFS willing to explain answers in detail, he goes about it in a way that is unique, from a perspective of complete immersion in the subject matter.
FANART AWARD This award is rather difficult to pick since there are several gifted artists on the board. But My Choice this year is KARMARSI KArmarsi has a gift for drawing as she has proved in the drawings she has posted oion here over the past year.

PHILOSOPHER AWARD I will have to go with PANGAEA with this award, since posts are always thoughtful and well-reasoned.
FREINDLY AWARD There is very little to seperate the vast majority of posters on here , because they are all friendly, but my choice this year is BREKCLUB85 BRek is always willing to do rpos with me, and is good enough to listen to my ideas and tell me what he thinks of them
PROACTIVE AWARD THis award go to someone who is willing to stand up and take a leading riole on the board. For his contribution to the board by providing us our screenshots every year i nominate LANDBEFORETIMELOVER

Alright! Now it's my turn! :D

::: Fanart Award ::::::::::
This one is... quite sad actually. :( There's less activity when it comes to fanart. Most topics are about fanfiction (I have no problems with that though) so it makes it hard to decide for a candidate. Hmm... Malte279 is an "all-round" artist. He has done sculpting, an embroidery, traditional and digital art! :wow You deserve respect! :yes Although there are many mentionable artists around here, I noticed that Pangaea, who doesn't only do regular fanart (I hope to see more from you :)), but also doing birthday cards for people with their specific characters who have their birthday today. :DD That is what I call generosity and so I vote him for the Fanart Award!

::: Feedback Award ::::::::::
Although it seems he doesn't have much time nowadays or doesn't get enough sleep, Pangaea still comes online and post a detailed and awesome review for both fanart and fanfiction. He's practically reviewing all works in that section, which I really respect. And thus, he gets a vote from me for the Feedback Award!

::: Friendly Member Award ::::::::::
I'm sure most of you agree that this is probably the hardest award to choose a member for. This place is filled with friendly members, you don't know where to start. But, I already have someone in mind and this someone is known as Caustizer. I was in a deep depression a few days ago, knowing no one would actually care. I felt sad... and lonely. Then, he came, cheering me up and writing a small but very sweet and adorable story, just for me. I never felt appreciated so much before. Therefore, Caustizer deserves the Friendly Member Award. Thank you for being there for me~

::: Helpful Member Award ::::::::::
There is a great connection between the Feedback and Helpful Member Award for me. He's helping members to improve their works by giving them constructive feedback, me also included. Without his help, I wouldn't have a stable view of the gang in their teens and for the new design of my wingtails. Not only that, he provided me with artworks I've already lost, which is more than helpful. All good things come in threes so Pangaea, I really appreciate your help and you're the right choice for the Helpful Member Award! I'd also like to mention Caustizer for being a helpful friend too. :yes

::: Philosopher Award ::::::::::
Well, I'm not active at the more deeper discussions on this board, but I did notice that Malte279 is as philosophical as ever, be it a LBT discussion or a general topic. His posts makes me really think outside the common view, which IS actually a part of being a philosopher in the first place. And that's because you get a vote for the Philosopher Award Malte! And, although I don't know him that much, Jansenov gets a little mention from me too. :)

::: Proactive Award ::::::::::
She started as a normal member and before you know it, she is now part of the administration! I say Mumbling is a good choice for this award! Not only because I see her almost everywhere, giving helpful information and links, but also because she is in charge of the new Fanfiction Award, the very first time ever! And therefore, she get's a vote from me for the Proactive Award.

::: Role Play Gamer Award ::::::::::
Unfortunately, I didn't keep track on what was going on in the RP section so I have to skip this one. Hopefully, it'll change next year. :)

Mumbling gets my vote for the Proactive Award.  Just because of how much she has done for this place in such a short amount of time!

Malte297 wins the Philosopher Award vote due to his posts always having such a deep amount of thought behind them.  To be honest, I think he would only stop something like this if he broke his hand, which I pray to God NEVER happens. :)

HELPFUL MEMBER AWARD This award is rather tough to pick, since there are a number of posters here willing to help you in whatever way they can. My vote on this award goes to PANGAEA who , from my experience, is alwas willing to lend a hand to anyone who may have a problem or question..

For the Philosopher Award, I nominate Malte297. His posts are almost always long and well thought out. He posts a lot in the Midnight section. He's not afraid to give his opinion but he always backs it up with a lot of information and thought.

For the Role Play Gamer Award, I'll take a different turn, and nominate Jrd89! He's been running the 'Flyers of the Mysterious Beyond" RP since January, sitting on it for months with almost no activity, before it finally getting recognized by several new members on this board. He happily accepted new players, even those without flyers to roleplay as. This might seem like a small thing, but this RP is the one I've had the greatest fun with on this board!

For the Helpful Member Award, I nominate Pangaea. His asking questions thread is basically a big "Need Help with Paleontology?" thread. He's answered several dinosaur related questions I have had in great detail. Not only that, but he's captured dozens of pictures to be used in this years banners. He seems to be a pack rat as well, saving every PM he deems important, and helping Sky out by having some of his old art saved for a long time.

Role Play Gamer Award: I agree with Mr. Vonboy here. It should go to Jrd89 for starting the amazing Flyers of the Mysterious Beyond thread and accepting me as well as everyone else in it! :D So thanks, Jared! For being such a good friend and supporer!

My first voting, Squee!! Okay, okay....

Fanart Award: I pick Ptyra. Her drawings have always interested me with her specialty in Flyers. Some of the scenery she draws has so much to say and I eagerly spent a better part of the day once searching for the fanfics that's associated with the pics! She draws Flyers so well and I love the fact that she added the little Domehead Crash into some of her pics; he's so adorable!!

Feedback Award: Will this ever be a surprise? I choose.... *insert epic drumrolling* Pangaea!! He puts such effort into his reviews that I get an adrenaline rush of ecstatic excitement every time he leaves me a new review. They're awesome and helpful with both praises and constructive crits. He never fails to support my fics and art and he more than deserves this award!!

Friendly Member Award: Ah, this is difficult. I suppose I can't choose multiple people... One of the reasons I love this website is because everyone is so nice!! Hmmmm, I have to go with The Friendly Sharptooth. He was one of first to truely interact with me here and since then, he's never failed to put a smile on my face!! He happily goes out of his way to help me and I try my best to return the favor! He's always eager for a chat and has been very patient with my IM internet connection that's preventing me from chatting with anyone...

Helpful Member Award: Pangaea of course!! As with his feedback, he's very helpful in many other situations. Whenever I have a question about anything, from dinosaurs to how this website works, I ask him hands down!! And he almost always has the answer for me!! Plus, when Rat-lady left the RP I'm in, Pangaea stepped up to the plate (for the second time from what I can gather)!! Thanks for helping out, Pangy!! :DD

Philosopher Award: For this, I think I have to go with Malte297. Although we don't interact much with each other, I didn't fail to notice his insightfulness in his posts. In fact, before I even joined the site, I found myself highly interested in whatever Malte had to say and found myself agreeing with most of his arguements. He's awesome like that!

Proactive Award: LBTDiclonius, definitely! I've never met anyone so enthusiastic in her many, many posts!! I usually tend to congratulate her whenever she reaches a new Post Level, but I'm having trouble keeping up! :lol And these are not spam messages she's putting up, no, every one of her posts has something meaningful to say and I'm amazed at how active she is!! I won't be surprise if she soon reaches the very tip-top of the Post Levels!!

Role Play Gamer Award: I'm not too active on the RP section, except for a couple of them. But from what I can pick up, Nick22 definitely deserves this. He's in most RPs that I can see and he actively tries to help the RPs along as far as I can tell!! I commend him for that!

My votes:

For the fanart award, I nominate Sky. There are other good artists, for example Darkhoumoun, oogaboo, Mumbling and Ptyra, who also posses good technical skills and years of experience with art, but it is Sky's style that appeals to me most. I cannot exactly pinpoint why this is so. I think that is because she developed a style that is LBTesque, but still original. It is ungrateful to say that one artist's style is more original than the other's, as there is no person in this world that is the same as anybody else, but still I think Sky got the furthest in paving her own path. And I hope she will continue her direction in the future, even if it meanders, branches into new paths or crosses somebody else's. I hope to see an interesting road to travel. :)

For the feedback award, I nominate Pangaea. This man made a deal with many members to review and offer guidance on their works, and he respects it to the letter. The volume of work he does is currently unmatched, and it must be that he enjoys this work as well, as he just keeps bringing new obligations to bear on his shoulders. He is one of those cogs that keeps the forum machine going on.  I just hope he won't overburden himself and that he will find more happiness and meaning with all that he is doing on and offline (this is my impression, which I hope is wrong).

For the friendly member award, I nominate Kor. He always has an interesting comment to make, a good advice to give. He's always there, and the more demanding the topic is, the more profound is the comment he gives. It betrays his vast life experience, but also his ability to fit in perfectly with us youngsters, even though we must seem childish to him sometimes.

For the helpful member award, again I nominate Pangaea. He makes "Ask and you shall receive" come true, even if the question is not directed at him. If I ever need something to do with biology, he is the first person I will turn too. However, since he demands so little, I'm not sure how would I repay him back. It is a great fortune that he is here with us.

For the proactive member award, I nominate Rat_Lady7. She is responsible for the birth of an entire section, and for most of the prominent topics in other parts of the forum.  Always taking the initiative, she introduces new ideas into our forum that are general enough to appeal to all members, and yet not falling into a trap such topics often fall into - to be reduced to a banality.

For the philosopher award, I nominate Malte279. This could easily be the longest nomination written this year, but I will be brief. This is the person that has something to say on almost any topic imaginable, he is the closest person to a ployhistor you will encounter on this forum currently. And yet he is well aware of the limits of his knowledge, and acknowledges them in a gentleman's manner. Talking to him enriches you.

I was informed that Rat_Lady7 wished not to be a part of this year's voting, so I will recast my vote for the proactive member award.

For the proactive member award, I nominate Mumbling. She started a nice amount of initiatives in the past, and administering the fanfiction award vote
gave an important part of GOF life, the fanfictions, the recognition they deserved since long ago. She was a also a co-developer of the now-scraped LBT MMORPG.

Voting on the Philosophers Award it is always requires a lot of reading. One member with whom I enjoyed discussions on historic topics a lot but who is not yet three months with us on the GOF is Pterano. Although not quite as frequent these days anymore as some earlier days I also enjoy philosophical chats with Kacie (Darkhououmon) a lot. I am delighted however to see that I am not the only one to have had the pleasure to talk to the member I'm going to vote for on this Award. Jansenov is plain awesome to talk to. He has a wide knowledge of so many fields of interest and is both a great talker and an attentive listener. I am very much looking forward to many more discussions, threads and chats with him :yes
My vote for the Philosophers Award goes to jansenov

Fanart is another case where the decision is not quite as easy as with some of the votes I cast earlier. Pangaea has indeed created some great images in his birthday cards and I want to encourage you Pangaea very much to do more LBT pictures. You have great talent and I would love to see more of it.
The LBT comic strips we got from oogaboo were not only dead funny but also very well drawn and really I would love to see more from you too. The expressions of your characters are priceless :yes
Iris (Mumbling) has very much brought the field of land before time sculpturing to a new level with her clay land before time figures which are really very cute and awesomes.
And then there is Sky of course. Most of your pictures show Star and Sky, but what sets your pictures apart is that whenever I see your pictures I'm not simply thinking "Oh yes, that's beautiful" but pretty much every single one of your pictures would fit into the "Show us pictures that make you go... "awww" thread as far as I am concerned. You have that amazing talent of creating pictures with characters that don't just create a primarily visual stimulus but rather create direct emotion to (I daresay) most people who look at them. I don't know how you manage to pack your images with emotion like that.
Furthermore there are many artists who have posted their first LBT fanart on the GOF this year and I want to encourage each and everyone of them to continue their good work. I do hope we are going to see more from you :yes
With all that being said the decision really isn't easy for me and I admit that I thought long about voting for one of the other candidates I listed because he or she might get a runner up fanart award. But with the quality of the art as the only legitimate argument in this vote and with the level of emotion found in his pictures my vote for the  Fanart Award goes to Sky.

Feedback  I choose Pangea Due to his detailed criticisms and tips on how to improve certain areas, of the drawings I've seen him reviewing & discussing.  & his other feedback also.  Detailed but not to long.  So detailed enough with little, fi any, extraneous stuff in his messages.

If it’s possible, I think I’ve been even more indecisive about my choice of nominees for the awards this year. Sorry for taking so long again. :oops Anyway, here are my nominations for four of the categories:

Fanart: Here is one category for which I knew who I was going to nominate even before the awards began, facing a minimum of indecision over the matter. It saddens me that fairly little LBT fanart has been posted on the GOF in the past year, with many new artists seldom updating their art threads after submitting their first picture or two. To me, one artist who stands outónot just in his devotion to regularly creating and sharing new LBT artwork, but in the effort he puts into making his pieces truly greatóis Sky. His LBT artwork has always been excellent, but he continually strives to make it even better, from touching up individual pieces to revising fundamental aspects of his character designs. In addition, he is always willing to offer help and advice to other GOF members on art-related matters, whether they be difficulties with Photoshop or basic drawing techniques.

Friendly Member: Oh, the dreaded Friendly Member Award. :p How to decide on one member to nominate out of all of the wonderful, kind, polite, understanding people on this forum? I’ve considered many members for this category, but I have ultimately decided to go with FlipperBoidSkua, the self-proclaimed “spazz” of the GOF. It helps that I have had many conversations with this memberówho I consider to be one of my closest friends on the forumóso I have had plenty of opportunities to experience her cordiality firsthand. But I have also seen most of the posts she has made on the forum (her infectious exuberance makes them a pleasure to read!), and as far as I have seen, she has never been anything but polite, cheerful, enthusiastic, and respectful to other members. She is invariably gracious and receptive when given constructive criticism on her (numerous) stories and drawings; she is considerate of other members’ feelings and conscientious about inconveniencing them; and whenever touched by a word of praise or act of kindness, she never hesitates to express her full, heartfelt appreciation. This is one member who I truly feel makes the GOF a happier place. :yes

Proactive Member: I admit that I had almost no idea who to pick for this category when the voting opened… Then, when I saw a few other voters nominate this member, I had one of those moments when I mentally slap my own forehead and exclaim “Of course! Why didn’t I think of that?!” :slap It was less than a year ago that this member became a global moderator for the forum (though her history of contributing to the GOF goes back much further than that), and in that time…well, let’s just say that Petrie was right when he said while welcoming this member to the team that she wouldóand I quoteó“enhance our community as part of our staff.” From devising and implementing a system that finally grants fanfiction writers the opportunity to receive Award recognition for their work, to her recent proposal for a get-together of GOF members in summer 2012, to all the little things she does to assist members and keep the forum organized, this member has more than earned consideration for this award. In the wake of Petrie’s retirement as leader of the GOF, I feel fortunate that we have such a competent, attentive, and beneficent admin on the forum as Mumbling.

Role Play Gamer: My experience in the field of RPing is not much greater than it was the last time the awards were held. I still know very little of other members’ past and present activities in the Role Play section outside of “In The Land Before Time”, so I will once again be basing my decision on what I have seen in that RP. The member I have chosen to nominate is LBTFan13, for being an all-around terrific RPer. His posts are well-written, easy to follow, and enjoyable to read. I admire the regularity of his contributions, and the ease with which he juggles multiple characters without making posts that are excessively long, or containing overly brief entries on individual characters. He has come up with many interesting and creative suggestions for the RP, and has been most generous and supportive in helping me keep the game afloat after Rat_lady7 left me in charge.

I’m going to need more time to consider my options for the Philosopher, Feedback, and Helpful Member Awards. Hopefully I’ll come to a decision on those categories soon.

I am proud to still be here and active to participate in this year's award voting.  I worried that the Gang of Five may be shrinking as a forum body since the Land Before Time office closed a few years ago and there has been some evidence of this with many old members departing or taking a notably lesser role then before.  I am impressed by the wave of new members that are still here and still very active in their contributions day after day.  To this end, here are my nominations for this year's Awards.

Fanart Award~ I feel like the obvious choice for this one is Sky, since he has contributed overwhelmingly to my artistic pursuits as well as his own and his art over the past few years has defined the Gang of Five like no other artist really has.  He has created works for stories, comic strips, and animations as well which are worthy of note.

This year however I give my vote to an enterprising artist whom I feel deserves his due for the towering and considerate effort he has put into creating birthday cards for many members including myself as well as posting many doddles of his own on the website.  In order to encourage and drive him to greater feats of artistic succes, this year I nominate Pangaea for the Fanart Award 2011.

Feedback Award ~ The recipiant of the Feedback award is the one who expends his or her own time to enhance the works of others on a regular basis, and in my time as a member on this forum many have made this contribution though there are two that stick out the most in my mind as deserving of this award. Last year I voted for Pangaea for his near weekly reviews of all my works and even gramatical corrections that I could never have expected of any reviewer.  The effort hat he puts towards my creative efforts is significant and many of my stories would never have been completed without him.

This year however my Feedback Award vote goes to Sky for his timely reviews of almost everything I write that includes wingtails.  We make an excellant team when it comes to producing creative works and I feel that needs to be acknowledged in the best way possible.  I look forward to his support on the rest of the Far Away Home stories and wish him the very best possible in his educational pursuits.

Fanart Award - For this I'm going to vote for the member whose art I've liked the most on this board since joining. I'm nominating oogaboo! He doesn't do a lot of art, but what he's posted is fantastic. I love his series of LBT comics. He manages to both give it a comic book feeling, but still retain some of that LBT artstyle. They're all hilarious. His dragon artwork I haven't followed as much, but It still looks really good. His art always puts a smile on my face. He has a knack for speaking a 1000 words through the character's facial expressions. :DD

Friendly Member Award - I'll first give an honorable mention to Pterano! I've talked to him a lot since he's joined, and I feel we're quickly becoming friends. He very open and talkative. Sadly, he hasn't been on the GoF long enough to be eligible for the Member Awards. :cry For this award, I'm nomination The Friendly Sharptooth! She(?) doesn't post much, but her few posts speak volumes. She is so kind, she will not just reply to someone, but she'll take the time write out an entire short story to help someone feel better! She's a very inspirational poster, and someone other members can look up to for support.

Friendly Member Award ~ The friendliest members are often the most humble in the face of praise and the most understanding in the face of criticism.  It is a quality not fostered in everyone, but those who possess it will tend to find success is a lot easier for them.  Life is about change, and for that reason I nominate Sky for his ability to accept any small shortfalls that may occur in his artwork as pointed out by reviewers and actively correct them.

Helpful Member Award ~ In my opinion the most helpful members on the board are not the ones that give themselves to small acts of kindness for others, but the ones who spend countless hours maintaining the GoF as administrators for all of us. To this end I nominate Littlefoot1616 for this award for his contributions to making the GoF Awards 2011 happen this year.

Philosipher Award ~ The most deserving candidate for the philosipher award in my mind is the member who puts the most time and thought into their posts, while remaining humble, readable, and understandable to all those who follow them.  Pangaea is undoubably the one for this award, since he puts a ton of time and effort into every paragraph he writes.

Proactive Member Award ~ A proactive member is one who posts frequently and without condition all the time, and from what I have seen over the past months I think that Pangaea is most deserving of this award also.  I can't blame him for running out of steam, and I feel he needs to be recognized for the consistancy of his input.

Roleplay Award ~ I did not participate in this enough to really vote on it, so this year I will opt to skip this one.

Well, I’ve made my decisions on the remaining three categories. Again, my apologies for the delay:

Feedback: The member I have decided to nominate for this award is the same individual I chose last year, on account of his detailed and thoughtful reviews on other people’s work, the quality of which have not faltered in the slightest this past year. I honestly admire this member’s skill in identifying areas in which a story can be improved, and I always appreciate it when he leaves feedback on the same works as me, as I feel that his reviews fill in many of the gaps in my own reviewing style. I hope that Caustizer continues to proffer advice to the GOF’s writers (and sometimes artists) in the years to come.

Helpful Member: For me, this category may somehow be as difficultópossibly even more difficultóthan the Friendly Member Award as far as selecting a nominee. I have decided, however, to go with DarkHououmon, whom I owe for regularly sending me information on subjects pertaining to my interests (such as articles on new paleontological discoveries), recommending books and other media that she thinks I may enjoy, and advising me on matters such as how to use chat programs (regrettably, I have yet to set aside time to actually employ this knowledge :oops). And from what I gather, she is similarly helpful to other members. So Kacie, let me express my gratitude through this nomination. :yes

Philosopher: It is impossible for me to not consider nominating Malte for this categoryóthe wisdom of this member and his contributions to all types of discussion topics never cease to inspire my awe, respect, and admirationóbut he is far from the only member to impart such thoughtful input, and I know he would agree that they should get a chance at this award as well. Thus I am giving my vote to jansenov. I’m afraid there’s not much I can say that doesn’t simply repeat what others have said already; this relatively new member has made a real impression on me with his insightful and contemplative posts, and I am grateful that he has stuck around to continue making these contributions.

Like everyone else, my final decisions for the award categories have been tough as there are many members who are worthy of the awards.

Feedback:  This one goes out to Pangaea.  Not only has he been consistent with fanfic reviews, but he has also been consistent with reviewing my fanart.

Helpful Member:  There are many members who could qualify for this award, and my final decision is The Friendly Sharptooth.  Not only does he try his best to help other members in need, but he is also thoughtful enough to PM me if he thinks I'm having a rough time and asks how he can help, even if it is to be a listening ear.  He puts others before himself, and therefore gets my vote.

Friendly Member: This one is the most difficult to pick, but my final vote goes out to Saft.  Even though she deals with a lot in her personal life, she still manages to be friendly on the GOF and even tries to help out members who may be having a hard time.  She is an example of a friendly individual, and I feel she is deserving of my vote.

Philosopher: Malte279 and Jansenov come really close to getting my vote for this category.  However, there is one individual I have seen blossom as a philosopher since joining the GOF, and that would be The Friendly Sharptooth.  Not only does he take the time to write well-thought posts, but he also seems to add a lot of insight to his posts as well.  That is why he gets my vote for this award.

Roleplay Gamer: There are a good number of members who are fun to RP with and even know how to run successful RPs.  Nick22 would be great for this ward in that he has started many RPs.  However, there is one member who stands out as being worthy of the roleplay gamer award, and that is Serris.  Not only is he really good at roleplaying, but he has also created the Darwin's Soldiers series, which has apparently been a big success on the GOF.  That said, he gets my vite on this one.

Proactive: While there are numerous proactive members around, this one goes to Rat_Lady7.  As others have said, not only has she started numerous topics on the GOF, but her topics have also been received very well by members.  Therefore, she gets my vote on this one.

Fanart: Again, this one is tough, considering our numerous talented GOF members who have posted very good fanart.  For this one, I choose to vote for oogaboo[/B.  Not only are his illustrations cute and some of them could really happen in the series, but they are also downright hilarious.  Therefore, I nominte oogaboo for this category.

With friendliness being a very frequent quality among the members of the GOF it is a very difficult call to make up my mind about the friendly member award. However, there is one member who has been really kind and concerned about many members of the GOF to the point where his friendliness towards others almost crossed the line of being unfriendly and disregardful about himself ;). While I surely don't mean to encourage him or anyone to be disregardful about oneself I still feel his friendliness and concern for others should be recognized. Therefore I nominate Michael The Friendly Sharptooth for the Friendly Member Award.

Everybody, please keep in mind that there are only about 24 hours left to cast your votes. 39 GOF members (out of about 118 members qualified to vote) declared their intention to vote in the 2011 award votes in the respective thread in the rock circle.
So far 21 GOF members did participate in the vote.
So I hope for a last hour rush of voters on the final day of the vote tomorrow :yes

Coming in lastminute.com as usual but hey ho... here are my nominations:

Fanart: If there is one thing this forum is not short of it is budding artists and brilliant fanfic writers. This year there hasn't been as much on the scene as in previous years but what has been produced is always of high quality. Special shout out has to go to Malte for his efforts and trying new ways to show his own fandom of LBT through things like embroidery which hasn't been seen before. But, my vote goes to Sky for his continued work for LBT art and his supreme level of commitment and stunning digital artwork. Keep 'em coming matey!

Feedback: - Now fanfics and artwork, as grand as they are, need a critic to help guide artists on identifying their strengths as well as pointing out areas for improvement. Now, a GOOD critic is able to do that but in a method that is not offensive, contrascending or beats around the bush. They offer a true definition of the term "constructive criticism" that only looks to build an artist rather than pussy-footing about or utterly destroying them. I feel that Pangaea does this best. His judging eye takes in everything and feeds back with comments that are always meaningful without being limp or destructive. A real talent to have amongst people!

Friendly: Undoubtedly, a lot of us have found this one of the hardest categories to vote in and it's clear to see why. Is there anyone on this forum currently that is not friendly? Our members' attitudes and respect for each other helps to build this community into what it is and to single any one person out for an award about being friendly is a ridiculously tough call. Still, I'm going to vote for LBTDiclonius. She may have only been with us a short time but I feel that she has blended in nicely yet retained a lovely personality and conduct with members. That's not to suggest she is the only one but she stands out of me in my mind.

Helpful: - Again, like the Friendly award, a tough shout. Everyone tries to be helpful where that can but it's hard to point at one person in particular. My vote is going to Pangaea again for his amazing commitment to just aiding anyone in anything anywhere in any way possible. A great and unselfish quality that more people in the world need to mimic. Thanks again matey!

Philosopher: Many a good man can offer his own opinion, yet few can go into such a depth that a discussion can be born from a simple idea. That idea is one so thought-provoking that it branches out into a grand debate that just continues to roll on as new ideas are fed into it. Gotta say that jansenov has been a fine example of exploring ideas and developing a truly thought-provoking discussion, but it is our Malte279 that gets my vote. The level of discussion you can get into with this guy is almost incalculable. You can go on for ages discussing the most trivial subject but you always feel enriched by the experience when conversing with this guy! Keep on probing our minds Malte!

Proactive: Granted the forum hasn't been the busiest it has been for a while but hey, that's not to suggest that there hasn't been stuff to do. Plenty of candidates could be put up for this award for their commitment and selflessness and really taking charge of things. But, to pick out one from these many that could be selected, I have to say that it is Mumbling that has shown a great sense of duty towards matters on the GOF and always done so with pride and a smile on her face. Thanks again Mumbling for keeping things in flow! And nice job coming up with the Fanfiction awards for this year! Great job!

RPG: Now, sadly, as much as I love and RPG, I'm a bit limited as my kind of RPG normally involves a joypad and a levelling tree. So, in light of that fact, I am going to have to skip this particular award because I don't feel it fair for me to make such a haphazard judgement on a thriving area of the forum where I have not dwelled much. Sorry guys but gotta play fair! Now...how to get that helmet of disintegration...

Those are my nominations. Big thanks to all those who have taken part this year. And even if I didn't mention your name, the forum is lucky to have such a great bunch of guys and gals all looking to communicate and better the forum everyday. Couldn't do it without you! ;)

Here are mine:

Fanart:  I feel that, this year, the most deserving member of the fanart award goes to Sky.  His use of emotion in his drawings is what clinched it for me.

Feedback:  This year, the member that earned this award from me is Camcerian Tiger, for his response to my second fanfic.

Friendly Member:  I vote for Saft as the recipient of this award.  Despite what is going on in her real life, she always takes time to help out anyone on the GOF who needs it.

Helpful Member:  In this catergory, I must nominate Darkhououmon.  Because of a chat I had with her, I was actually inspired to complete What have we done?

Philosopher:  I must, this year, vote for Malte to receive this award.  He can really dive deep into issues, and hope he keeps it up.

Proactive:  For this award, I must cast my vote for Mumbling, for her work in the fanfiction award.

RPG:  For this award, I must use my one skip, since I have not yet participated in any of the RPGs.

Fanart Award - Oogaboo. Your LBT comics are genius and I really hope you keep them up :)
Feedback Award - Pangaea. You have been there for every artist on this forum to give fully detailed and interesting feedback, to the point where you tire yourself with it. You deserve a big THANK YOU from all the people here who have read and used your feedback, and I hope that my vote for your award will help that a bit :)
Friendly Member Award - Malte. You've always been up for a talk when needed, been extremely understanding towards my personal problems and always wanting to teach me one or two or a million things about history. There are many members which I could have voted for in this category: TFS, Campion, LF1616. You guys rock.
Helpful Member Award - Pangaea. Always there when someone is in need of useful advice or in need of a service. You're an amazingly helpful member on this forum and I'm sure you'll stay that way. :)
Philosopher Award - The Friendly Sharptooth. Michael has been creating some very good topics which go in depth about both the characters or plot twists in LBT. The detail and thought he puts into these topics is too much for me to handle which is why I don't reply to them :P: But in all honesty, you've deserved this award for sure this year, as you try to keep the LBT discussion alive as well as possible :)
Proactive Award - The Friendly Sharptooth. You've also made a start of reviving the old trivia section. Along with your many caption topics and interesting discussions about LBT you've tried to put some life into these forums.
Role Play Gamer Award - Skipping this one as I'm not an active roleplayer.

I didn't have much time recently to participate in forum life, so I will only vote in a couple of categories. Maybe I'll do better next time. ;)

Friendly Member: Campion - quite friendly person to talk with, even though he can be very harsh for some fanfic writers (although they usually deserve it).

Philosopher: Malte - you just need to read his posts in discussion topics to know why I nominate him. He has big knowledge of history, which makes his posts even more interesting.

Proactive: Pangea - if he wasn't so active with managing "In the Land Before Time RP" (in Rat_lady's absence), then this RP would probably be long dead now.

Role Player Gamer: Malte - he can create very interesting characters. Even though he sometimes writes short posts in RP for long periods of time (who doesn't?!), he is good role-players and many of his posts are great and fun to read. I would like to mention other people, who I think are good role-players: Campion, Petrie, Great Valley Guardian, Raptor, Chronicler, MrDrake and many others.

Okay, this vote session of 2011 is concluded. The votes will be counted to see if there is need for any tiebreaking votes and also to determine in which fields there may be runner up awards. After such possible tiebreaking votes the votes for the appreciated member awards will start at the end of which the awards will.at last be issued.
