Thanks guys!

Also... I feel like I gotta square brain if I ask this but who's Nina :0
No worries. Nina is my OC. I just realised it was actually a really long time ago when I posted her design but she is in this thread somewhere.

And yes, Red Claw is always better in the fanfics.  :taunttroll

Even when she's mad, she's adorably. I want to pet but that's probably a bad idea.  :lol Lovely job as always, Jewel!

Me realising today that I'm yet again only a couple of days away from the deadline without making a proper start on my entry:

I swear, these things are like school assignments to me now. I'll feel bad if I miss any.  :lol

SRFG stop speedrunning fanart prompts at the last minute challenge and maybe upload something else for once: impossible.  :rhett_ohsnap

But hey, I got there. My entry for this month's fight scene prompt! I've put it under spoilers, cause it's a bit bloody.

Spoiler: ShowHide

Oh look, it's Jurassic Park III in LBT style.  :bestsharptooth I've been wanting to do Nina vs. Red Claw for a while and I guess this was a good opportunity to do so. They got into a fight probably because Nina insulted Red Claw's stubby arms. Also she was trespassing on his territory. So he showed her he makes up for those arms with his teeth (Wait, Red Claw, threatening? Never.  :PLoofah).

Spoiler alert: This is a scene I've thought of to put in that fanfic I'm probably never going to upload and she does end up needing saving. I do actually have what could be a sequel to this art (albeit drawn months ago) of the guy who ends up saving her. Might upload it later, might forget.

If Red Claw looks kinda derpy it's because I attempted to draw him from memory, which I probably shouldn't have done since I haven't drawn a T-Rex for nearly a year (since zombie sharptooth, actually). Backgrounds, what are those? :taunttroll I had a lot of fun with this one, though.

1) One of the major themes of this film seems to be hero worship and (as depicted in the case of Grandpa Longneck) how it is not necessary to idolize distant figures as heroes, as heroes exist all around us in our everyday lives.  Do you agree that this is a major theme of the film, and do you agree with that premise?

I think it took a while to actually get to the point, but yeah I'd agree with that. Kids idolizing others, whether it's a celebrity or someone closer is almost a given really, so I like that they explored that. I suppose it would have been a good time (yes I know I keep going on about it, no I'm not letting it go) to mention that Littlefoot's mother was a hero, but hey. :p Grandpa gets a moment to shine though, so that's something.

2) What are your thoughts on the “Legend of the Lone Dinosaur” song?

Nope, no, it's not catchy at all- Dino-SAAAAUUUUUR♫

Quote
3) In terms of the questionable things that the gang has done in their lives, where does ‘Littlefoot going into a sharptooth’s mouth in order to take one of its teeth’ rank?  :bestsharptooth

I mean... yeah that one takes the cake. Also how did it take until the sharptooth was almost fully standing for him to realise it was alive? :p

4) What are your general thoughts about Doc as a character?

I think he's cool. I like the mysterious, reserved, lonely traveller type.

Finally got around to watching it. Gotta say I wasn't overly excited for it but it certainly exceeded my expectations. The villain of this one was so much better and I liked the conflict between the main characters. There were so many throwbacks to the earlier seasons as well that I might have to go back because I forgot a few of them. Reunions all around were sweet. Dinosaur carnage made a good comeback. A decent ending to what I would say is a fairly decent kids' show. It absolutely had its flaws, and it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but for me, it gave me the dinosaur content I've been craving in the absence of LBT.

Yeah...

Right, I'm not going to leave this one to the last minute. Actually, I'll see if I can get started on something sometime this week.

Narrator: SRFG did not, in fact, get started on her prompt entry that week.

I'm feeling a bit more creative tonight though, so who knows... Hopefully it won't be a last minute entry again but I'm starting to struggle to keep on top of this.  :lol

Each to their own I guess. But I've gotta wonder if this guy watched a different movie to the rest of us. The first Land Before Time still makes me cry when I watch it. It was one of the few animated films aimed at children that had the guts to show the devastating grief after the death. Oh well, can't please everyone I suppose.  :petrie

I would say this is now probably my favourite of the sequels, the return of Chomper was cool and it has one of my favourite scenes of Chomper's parents vs the plated sharptooth.

Quote
1) Considering how Chomper is depicted in this film, what can be ascertain about Chomper’s upbringing in the time since he was hatched by the gang?

His parents were probably trying to raise him as a normal sharptooth - teaching him how to hunt, what they need to eat, etc, but I wouldn't be surprised if they found him several times 'playing' with his food. He was probably quite confused that he was supposed to eat them at first.

Quote
2) This film brings up the question as to where Chomper’s knowledge of leaf-eater comes from, as he only learned a few words from the gang. What is your personal head-canon for where Chomper learned leaf-eater to fluency?

I like the idea that he met Ruby before he and his parents got to the mysterious island and she taught him how to speak the leaf-eater language.

3) What is your opinion on the song “Friends for Dinner”?

I don't really have a strong opinion on any of the songs so I'd say it's a decent song. My favourite for this film is still 'Always There' though.

General Land Before Time / Re: Why hasn't XI been released in HD?

I suppose the only way to really find out is to write to Universal and ask them. :p

But that's a good spot, and that's pretty strange. Did they just forget or something (given what they did with some of the other remasters, I honestly wouldn't be surprised)?

Fair points and most I agree with. I'll admit by season 3 it was starting to lose me a bit when the whole Russia thing started. It's probably my least favourite season so far. And again in season 4, I ended up skipping through most of that bit because I just didn't care. I knew what was going to happen anyway. My biggest problem is how predictable it's getting, my second biggest problem is the writers seem hesitant to kill off some characters because it will upset the fans. And they set up some important things only to forget about them later. I was half expecting Kali/008 to reappear, but because everyone hated her episode, she'll probably just vanish into the void. I think she could of been more help to Eleven especially against the latest villain, and while I would hope she reappears for the final battle, fans don't like her so she probably won't.

And having just finished season 4, here's what bugged me about it. Major spoilers for the whole season below.

Spoiler: ShowHide
As I said, predictable. There's this trend of introducing a new, likeable character in a season just to kill them off in the same season so we're all expecting it. Bob, Alexei, and now Eddie. What annoyed me was that Steve, like Eddie, got attacked by the bats and also had chunks of flesh ripped from him, was pretty badly injured and then... Nothing. He doesn't take a trip to any doctor, it doesn't look like he even had time for a wash. All he got in terms of treatment was Nancy ripping of some of her clothes as a makeshift bandage and that's it, and yet he's perfectly fine. I love Steve, but the plot armour he has because he's a fan favourite character annoyed me. Same goes for Max. She should have died (technically she did but I mean permanently). She's my favourite of the group and I don't want her to die, but she should have. Then earlier when Eleven escaped from the military in a friggin' pizza van the general just stands there watching and he's never seen chasing after her again. Dr Owens was captured and we don't find out what happens to him, he just disappears. The show doesn't explain how the hell Dr Brenner survived the demagorgan attack in season 1 with barely a scar. He's there, he's an asshole, then when he dies some big orchestral music plays like we're supposed to feel sorry for him because he 'loved' Eleven (no, he was an abusive asshole who kidnapped and experimented on loads of kids, screw him). Vecna should be the most dangerous villain so far, and yet with his big plan of killing everyone and changing the world, he doesn't seem that threatening to anyone but Max (and hell she pretty easily escaped him the first time). The Duffers are playing it way too safe, they should start killing off some of the main cast.

I'll keep watching because overall I do still enjoy it and want to see how things end with Vecna, but I'm really hoping they up the stakes a bit in season 5. Actually put the main characters in some sort of danger they can't get out of. Get rid of that plot armour.

LBT of course
The Legend of Zelda
Super Mario
Stranger Things

Jurassic Park
Harry Potter
Hunger Games

Although out of all of these, LBT is the only fandom I'm really active in. Everything else, I'm a lurker.  :p

Silver Screen / Stranger Things

Noticed this show doesn't have a topic which kinda surprised me given its popularity. It's another show my brother introduced me to, and considering I'm not really into horror, I actually really enjoyed this. I love 80's aesthetic and music so I was hooked pretty quickly. Season 4 Volume 2 dropped yesterday, but I haven't gotten around to seeing the final episode (got a bit of a shock to discover it's over 2 hours long) just yet.

Does anyone else watch this show? What are your thoughts on it?

Silver Screen / Re: Game of Thrones
« on: July 02, 2022, 01:25:49 PM »
I didn't actually get around to watching GoT until 2020 when I binge watched it during lockdown. My brother was a huge fan of the show in its prime, and I know almost everyone was disappointed with the ending, me included.

What I find fascinating is how Game of Thrones went from a pop culture wonder to being almost completely forgotten about. When I sat through the first 6 seasons, I thought this was a show I was going to be obsessed with for years to come. Then after finishing it, I had no desire to go back to it. Which is a shame because when I did rewatch it (my mom then binged it after me so we watched it together), I remembered just how darn good the early seasons were.

Is anyone going to watch House of the Dragon? I'll probably check it out. Maybe it'll revive some interest in the series.

Silver Screen / Re: What are your guilty pleasures?
« on: July 02, 2022, 01:05:49 PM »
The Room. :P

I'm not gonna defend that movie in any way, but as far as so-bad-it's-good experiences go, it's a real treat. :D

Oh man, The Room just takes me back to my sixth form days. I'd invite a few friends over for a sleepover with pizza and we'd always get drunk and watch/laugh at The Room. Fun times.

So of course there are the LBT sequels. Jurassic Park III is a guilty pleasure as well.

For some reason, I have a lot of Christmas-related guilty pleasures, including Last Christmas, The Holiday, and Love Actually (and I'm usually not a fan of rom-coms  :lol).
