Bradley's eyes lit up as he took the weapon. "Very nice," he said, examining the outer casing. "This prototype will revolutionize military technology. . . Pisces, under my authorization, please clear Sgt... what was your name again?" he asked the man who had brought the gun.

"Excellent," grinned Shelton, as he saw the lab computer was already logged in. "Time to get some good stuff. Wish they'd let me keep that flash drive."

He quickly discerned the security clearance of whoever was logged into the computer, and checked out the highest level of documents they were cleared for.

"Mm. Hmm. Mmmm..." he murmured to himself, scanning all the data he could find. "Looks like Lab 101 is less of a lab than a mobile home."

He got up to go find Kerzach and tell him what he'd just discovered, when a flashing tab caught his eye.

It was an appointment reminder. Shelton opened it, to see what it said.

"Operation Exodus, Phase One. Five minutes ago..."

He quickly checked out Operation Exodus. It required massive security clearance, but luckily this person was registered as a tower.

A tower. . .

Shelton immediately leapt up and ran to get Kerzach. "Kerzach!" he yelled. "They're moving--" He broke off as he entered the lab to see the two scientists facing off.

"...Clyco," the sergeant added.

"Negative, my database contains no entity of such identification. Further authorization is needed for activation." The Pisces replied.

Clyco was pissed off now. He had carried this gun for hundreds of miles to escort it to the site, only to have it reject him by name. Clearly this wasn't like Doom or Duke Nukem where you could just pick up a big gun and start blasting away at the aliens. This was real life, and unfortunately real life had rules.

"Could I see it please Dr. Bradly," the Canadian Srgt. asked. He had an idea.

Dr. Kerzach turned to Shelton. "Get more data! I've got this under control!" He ducked a punch from Dr. Gallo and slammed into him, knocking him into the bookshelf.

He then grabbed the stunned Dr. Gallo by the collar.

"What is Operation Exodus?" Dr. Kerzach demanded.

"Your friend found out! Ask him!" Dr. Gallo replied. He then pecked Dr. Kerzach's hands, drawing blood and forcing him to let go. "Oh, I forgot, you're busy dealing with me!"

Dr. Kerzach said nothing but kicked at Dr. Gallo. Unfortunately, Dr. Gallo managed to grab his foot and twist it, forcing him to the ground. Dr. Gallo then quickly sat on Dr. Kerzach and removed the knife that capped his spur and held it to his throat. "Any last requests?"

Dr. Kerzach used one hand to try and fend off Dr. Gallo's knife hand while his other hand groped around for something to use as a weapon. He eventually grabbed a steel letter opener, which had been knocked down from the desk during the brawl, and plunged it into Dr. Gallo's chest. Dr. Gallo's eyes widened and his grip began to weaken. Dr. Kerzach pushed the dying scientist off of him and stumbled out of the office.

"Gallo's...dead." Dr. Kerzach panted. His clothing was torn and his feathers were matted with blood, both his own and Dr. Gallo's. In addition, his beak and face were bloody as well. He then began washing up in the sink.

"Holy crap, what are you, a Green Beret?" Shelton stammered. "Remind me to never switch sides with you in the room!"

"What's all this about Operation Exodus?" asked Werner, as he and the others entered the room.

"Oh, right." Shelton explained. "Dragonstorm, as we know, is based in Lab 101. Since Kerzach and I breached Lab 101, they've realized that we pose an actual threat to the project. That's why when Lab 101 was built, it was designed with wheels and whatnot, so it could split off from the rest of base. What's happening right now is everything Dragonstorm related is being shipped to Lab 101, which will be seperated from the base and towed to safety. And Phase One has already started."

Dr. Kerzach had finished washing up and retreated into a back closet to change into Dr. Gallo's spare clothing. He tossed his tattered and bloody clothes in a back corner. He then winked at Shelton. "When a pissed off rooster's holding a knife to your throat, you can do some pretty crazy things."

"So that's why this area's so deserted!" Werner said.

"Wait if Lab 101 is basically a giant trailer, couldn't we just destroy the towing vehicle and strand Lab 101 here? Then we call in the US military and have the evidence just staring them in the face?" Alfred proposed.

"How do we know what's doing the towing? And what if that part is self propelled?" Werner countered. "We can't simply blow up every semi cab heading into Pelvanida."

"I think we should worry about that later and figure out how to get out." Dr. Kerzach said. He then spotted a flash drive near Dr. Gallo's body. He returned to the room, grabbed the flash drive and went back to the group.

Dr. Kerzach examined the flash drive. It had the name "B. Gallo" engraved on the side. "I got Gallo's flash drive. We'll look at it when we return."

"You know," said Shelton. "The guy logged into the Dragonstorm computer was heading to Lab 101 as a tower. I have the necessary paperwork and code words on his computer. We could change into worker outfits, and pretend to be working for Dragonstorm. Easy way to get in."

"I think they'd recognize us." said Werner.

"Not me," Shelton grinned. "My face has been covered in ash since they saw me. Plus my lab coat has hidden my body proportions. Just give me a razor, a sink, a new uniform and some Clark Kents and I'll be a new man."

(OOC: A 'car chase' of sorts might be cool, with our heroes chasing after it in stolen vehicles. I'd want Shelton to get into Lab 101 first.)

Stern looked around the lab. Asking anyone who was there with him, he spoke "Does anyone need an armed escort? I've been left in this lab with little else to do... and the situation clearly isn't resolved. If there is another mission to fulfill, I am formally requesting it now."

Dr. Zanasiu spoke. "I'm going to explore the passageway behind the freezer. Who's coming?"

"I am." Zachary said, grabbing his rifle.

"Sorry, I have to work with this new gun." Dr. Bradley said.

Dr. Bailey nodded. "Okay but keep in mind that I can't help you once you're back there. I should still be able to keep in radio contact with you."

Dr. Zanasiu and Zachary checked their radios.

"Wait, did you say that the door is locked?" Zachary said.

Dr. Zanasiu facepalmed. "Damn it! I forgot! Scratch that. We'll first need to find a Dragonstorm scientist and get the keycard from them, by force if needed."

"Aisha, Dr. Tennes, Corporal Stern, Sgt. Clyco, one of you will need to stay behind to guard Dr. Bailey." Zachary said.

Dr. Bailey shook his head. "I'll be fine. I've got .50 caliber machine gun autoturrets and heavy blast doors to protect me." He then looked at the autoturret monitor.

Shelton checked out the restroom connected to the laboratory. "Looks good," he said. "Nothing resembling a razor, though."

"I can do it," said Hans, twirling his knife.

Shelton's face paled. "That's okay, Hans. Really--"

"What are you afraid of? This was how we shaved when we were holed in caves in the Nevadan desert. You saw I had no facial hair at Pelvanida."

"Well, okay..."

Shelton and Hans exited into the bathroom, spare uniform folded on Shelton's arm. Ten minutes later, Hans and someone unrecognizable from Dr. Shelton came out.

The grey uniform fit well, and without the ash and unkempt beard, Shelton looked totally different. The sunglasses completed the picture.

"Great," said Shelton, reading the printout from the computer. "I've got until I reach Lab 101 to memorize everything on this page." He looked up. "You guys coming with, or are you gonna provide outside back up?"

Dr. Zanasiu left the control room and Dr. Bailey locked down the control room.

"The halls are really empty. There's no one here." Zachary said.

"There has to be something going on." Dr. Zanasiu said. "Which means getting that keycard just got harder."

"I'll come." Dr. Kerzach said.

"I'll come as well." Alfred said.

Dr. Kerzach looked at himself. He noticed that the stolen lab coat even had Dr. Gallo's name embroidered on it. "Hmm. All I need is a pair of goggles or something to conceal my face." he said.

Alfred tossed Dr. Kerzach a pair of safety glasses that looked like mirrored sunglasses.

Dr. Kerzach quickly donned them. He also found two of Gallo's spur-knives in a drawer, which quickly taped onto his feet using surgical tape.

Alfred donned a grey jumpsuit and a combat helmet he found in a closet. He then put on a pair of mirrored safety glasses that obscured his eyes.

Dr. Kerzach then turned to Shelton. "I think Alfred and I may have some problems with our disguises."

Alfred nodded. "That's the advantage that Humans have over anthros, you can change your appearances very easily. But I'll have to hope that the helmet, goggles and jumpsuit do the trick."

Dr. Kerzach then looked at Shelton. "You'd better hope Delta Leader doesn't sniff you out."

Alfred hefted his shotgun. "If she does, the last thing she'll smell is gunpowder."

"I just need thirty more seconds before I can shut the power down!" Aiko said over the screaming metal of the door.

"Make sure it's down before they get in!" Feral shouted.

The Cobra was nearly half-way done with removing the door wide enough for them to get through. The woman stood ready with smoke grenades...

Ariol's cell goes off as he travels to meet with his party, now split into two more teams to search the base. The call was from the transports. 2 hours till landing...

"We're going to stay out of sight, but know we've got your back. We'll keep an eye on Lab 101 and try to cut any cables or whatnot. Be sure to radio us if need be," said Werner, and Hans nodded akin.

Shelton nodded. "Thanks."

"We're glad to know you're covering us," Alfred agreed.

Shelton waved his hand at a passage. "This way," he said, and led the way towards Lab 101.

Their route took them past the room with the crashed copter. Shelton held them up, digging through the cockpit.

"What are you looking for?" asked Alfred.

"Aha!" Shelton dug a radio-flashlight out of the wreckage. "I've been missing this thing." He checked to make sure it still worked, and clipped it to his utility belt. "I guess I'm glad it was never around to get confiscated. Now we can keep going."

(OOC: What's the two hours for? whast ahpppens in two hours?"

(OOC - The 2 hours are when the transports land to take the Dragonstorm experiments away.)

Alfred looked around the halls. "It's really quiet. "

"We'd better hustle to Lab 101 or they'll leave without us." Dr. Kerzach whispered.

Just then two scientists wearing powered armor passed by the group. The two scientists were carrying a large silver pod with wires and tubes protruding from it between them.

They nodded to the gathered group and continued on their way. Soon the mechanical whirring and stomping of the exoskeletons faded away.

"We'd better get moving." Hans said.

Hans, Dr. Kerzach, Werner and Alfred made their way closer to Lab 101 when a familiar shape caught their eyes.

"[censored]! It's Delta Leader!" Werner whispered.

Delta Leader aimed her SMG at Shelton. "Well, Dr. Storke, or should I say Shelton? Do you have any last requests before I shoot?"

She activated her helmet mounted radio. "The group outside are intruders. Kill them."

The remaining troopers of Delta Squad readied their weapons.

"Get to cover!" Hans shouted. He dove behind a crate that had yet to be moved.

Alfred did the same, diving into an empty lab.

Werner followed Alfred.

Alfred, Werner and Hans fired at the troopers.
