Out of the Ice

The year is 2010 most of the worlds ice had melted to the point that many of the coastly and rivered cities where under 20 meters to 100 meters of water. With most world wide commucations dead the worlds remaining lands live with hardly or no internet or word from the shores. A ice drift that believed to be just ice for hundards of years near the South Pole land mass in the oceans that sit between America, Europe and Africa a Discovery team of the New World Alliance of countries that have commucations to each other head to this new land mass to explore it finding it to be over 300 miles across.

THey discover a alien device enbeded all around the landmass outter rims seeming to create a life support feild that kept all that froze in a internal sleep. the words they find to their surprise is in English 'From the Ice the titans once ruled this world will awaken from the nightless sleep income to a world of Discovery.'

This is when the DIscovery team finds the lash green lands, desest, waters all intact and frozen in a internal rest with the beasts of the past. The Dinosaurs of and outside of a lash valley, a discovery of a life time and being human the discovery to see more with most of the ice and snow now gone they wish to deactvate the grid to awaken the sleeping dinosaurs, awaken the past into the present.

Making this the Biggest discovery of the Centery.............

What sorts of things will and will not be allowed?  Also which fc's, If any, will be open for play?  Any oc's allowed, or you have to pre approve so their abilities, if any, fit in with your rp?

I believe OC is fine, nothing wrong with that. btw this is like a prebeginning, where it starts off will be in a complex that built inside the north face of the Great Wall. And it about a 9 months later from the awaken of the island. the New World Alliance had build a harbour inside a open cliff and built obversation bases all around the land mass to keep out of sight and to watch how dinosaurs live.

Sort of a lost valley sort of thing, but instead of surviving to the modern time the whole things was put into some sort of suspended animation or something?

Yeah thats right and being what humans would do, they deactivated the Alien devices that did such a thing since the island was no longer in ice and full of this dinosaur life, the New World Alliance research team been there since the discovery and created a working complex that built inside areas of the landmasses including that harbour that links to the complexs underground through caverns and tunnels.

well your going to have the LBT charcaters unaware of what time they in, to them when they awaken it was only felt like a day and now months have past everything to them seem as normal as it can be part from the gang going on advantages still. lol.

Not aware that they been watched by people not too far from them in camo hide outs.

Do the dinos in the Great Valley speak English like they seem to in the movies and tv series, or is it some other language?

Even if the dinos' don't actually speak 'English' as we know it...the humans are bound to have translation devices of some kind to help them understand what is being said.

If it is the near future, they would not be universal translation like they have on star trek.  I think without a common language it's very hard to translate.  There are still some written languages that archaeologists have not translated yet since they have no common language to gain knowledge of the language, and have not figured it out.

Were any of the farwalkers in the valley when the alien device was first activated?

the land mass is over 300 miles in size which means the farwalkers could be weeks walk away from the Great Valley. the Great Valley is only in one tiny part of the large landmass. Also the Alien devices created a field of energy that effected the speech patterns of leaf eaters making their words sound like English to humans and Sharptooth speech still its own.

Hope that helps, also on a note the humans when came aware of the leaf eaters able to speak, this shocked them and made them sure enough that humans can't be seen by them making why there is a network of tunnels to each complex and harbour making sure they keep away from being on the open and not be spotted by the Dinosaurs.

I'm in as one of the scientists if that is allowed. I'll just do a little plastic surgery to make my character as elvish as possible (I can't resist it. I love fantasy races.) I'm going to assume that magic is out of the question. Would that assumption be accurate? (Already knows the answer. Don't need to respond to question unless the answer is not what I expect.)
