The Fridge / Biggest Windows fail ever
« on: January 16, 2012, 12:24:33 PM »
I was just retrieving files from an old harddrive that was having some problems when I came across this very strange yet hilarious glitch. Clearly something is messed up on some of the sectors of the harddrive causing Windows to think that the files are absurdly huge :p

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h110/Littlefoot_Fan/1.png

It's interesting to see that Windows actually has built-in support for petabytes (PB). A petabyte would be the equilivent of 1,000 terabytes, which in turn would equal 1,000,000 gigabytes! So Windows thinks that those files are 89,700 terabytes, or 89,700,000 gigabytes! Seeing how some of the largest harddrives are 4 terabytes at most (could be larger ones now, not sure) that's pretty absurd, and I found it highly amusing :p

The Fridge / Cool sky I saw last night
« on: September 11, 2011, 10:33:33 AM »
I thought the sky looked really cool last night. It had a really bright full moon behind a bunch of clouds and gave it a very eerie look. So I took a few pictures of it. I know they are kind of blurry and distorted, I'm not sure if it's my camera's fault, or the fact that it's difficult to take pictures of a sky at night :p

The Fridge / Wonderful message I woke up to
« on: June 26, 2011, 10:28:05 AM »

Yea seriously. I download japanese subbed animes, big whoop. There are english dubbed dvd sets you can buy in this country of these animes, but I only like the original japanese ones, which you obviously cannot buy anywhere in this country. And frankly, I don't feel like finding a way around this, at least not any time soon, because with my luck, it won't work, and they'll end up being asinine enough to permanently disable my service.

Gamers Zone / Doom 3 CO-OP Mod
« on: December 14, 2010, 01:51:19 PM »
Just recently I found a really cool mod that allows up to 4 people to play through the Doom 3 campaign together. It also supports the Resurrection of Evil expansion pack. Here is the link to the download.

http://www.moddb.com/downloads/opencoop-alpha-20

To use the mod, you need to download and apply the 1.3.1 patch for Doom 3, which can be found here

This would be very cool to try out if we can get 4 people together. If anybody is interested in trying it, I'm game :p I have already tested it between two computers and it works great.

The Fridge / Pennsylvania pics
« on: September 19, 2010, 10:55:16 PM »
Nobody really knew about it, but I came back from vacation a couple of weeks ago. We went to Circle-M in Lancaster, PA, and I thought I would share a few pictures I took while there.

Here's just a sunny day at the resort

Two shots of a river right next to the resort

I thought this little area looked picturesque:p

Here's a close-up shot of a flower I took

And a very shiny red camaro :p

An Amish house out in Amish country

I forget what this place is exactly, but it is also out in Amish country

I forget the name of this spider. I looked it up, but didn't write it down.

Super close-up shot of a monarch butterfly (I think)

Computer and Electronics / Best free online storage?
« on: June 13, 2010, 07:47:56 PM »
I was wondering if any of you know of some good free online storage I could use. I only need about 100 mb worth, so I'm sure I could find that much for free. I've been using ripway for a while but I hated the fact that they delete your account after not logging in for a month. I was trying ADrive too, but they had a really weird, complicated, and annoying way of backing up files, and it took forever for some reason. I just really hated it. I want something that makes it very easy to upload and download your files. Do any of you guys know of good ones that you use?

Just an FYI, I want one that keeps your files permanently, not something like driveway.

I have a bunch of .mp4 videos that, when I play them, they start to fall out of sync after about 10 minutes into the show (although the time it takes seems to be random). The video starts falling way behind the audio. They're probably falling out of sync because the CPU Usage is suddenly jumping to 100%. Normally it stays at about 50%, but at some random point in the video it'll jump to 100%, and that's when the video starts falling behind. I checked what was taking up the extra cpu and it was the video player, nothing else. I play them in Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. The strange thing is I never used to have this problem until just recently. I am not sure what I did or what happened, but it seems I can't watch these videos any longer, which is really annoying me. I tried them in VLC as well, that seemed to actually make them worse. I have Windows XP in case anybody is wondering.

Gamers Zone / Dante's Inferno 30 second trailer
« on: February 25, 2010, 02:37:03 PM »
I thought I'd share this with anybody who hasn't heard about this game or seen the trailers for it. I think this is one of the coolest trailers ever made for a game.

If and when I finally get my xbox 360 fixed (or get a new one) I'll definitely be looking into buying this. I think any game where the objective is to go through the circles of hell with a huge scythe to save someone from the clutches of Satan is worth buying :p

The Fridge / Messed up videos...
« on: January 27, 2008, 12:38:49 AM »
Ok this sucks and I really want to know if there's a way to fix this. I spent a whole day downloading some videos and when I played them, the audio is slightly pitched higher. It's definitely noticable, and I refuse to watch them like this, everything just sounds so dumb. Is there like any known way to fix this kind of problem, or is it just an error in the downloading process and the only way to repair it would be to download it again?

And this was my first time downloading this set of videos so I'm not sure if it is in fact a problem with the videos themselves, but I highly doubt it, as nobody has written a bad comment about it or anything.

The Fridge / Takin' a trip

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Hey did anyone see American Idol?
« on: March 13, 2007, 09:57:36 PM »
Just finished watching it. The final singer (it was a girl) actually sung "If We Hold on Together" and the host, Ryan, even mentioned it was featured in "The Land Before Time"! Heheh :DD Just thought this was worth pointing out. She did a pretty good job singing it too. :p

The Fridge / Are there any programs made just for email?
« on: January 26, 2007, 12:20:26 PM »
I was wondering, do they have programs out there that are designed just to handle all your email? I don't sign on Yahoo enough to check my email on there, and I hate Msn's email system.

I know I've heard of a few programs, but I can't remember what they were called.

Also, is there a way to actually move your email from other accounts into that one account?

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / "Danger" music
« on: January 16, 2007, 01:17:52 PM »
I know this is a pretty far-fetched idea, but listen closely to the danger music in that LBT episode (Mainly the part when the big trench began to flood). Am I crazy or does that sound exactly like the battle music from the Kingdom Hearts games. I know there aren't many here who have actually played the games, but for those of you who have, I swear it sounds just like it!

General Land Before Time / People in this cartoon...
« on: November 21, 2006, 02:28:40 PM »
I was just wondering, suppose they did decide to put humans in the next movie, how exactly would it work out? Clearly a human is ALOT smarter than a dinosaur. The only real reason we don't see the dinosaurs so dumb is because there's nobody really smarter to compare them with. The movie shows how they would communicate in a much more bolder way, by having them talk and act like people. Nobody would want to watch just dinosaurs eating and not doing anything. It makes the show enjoyable.

But how would this work if people were in the movie. Now we have humans who clearly out-smart dinosaurs by a long-shot. Would the humans hear what the dinosaurs were saying? If not, then how would they interact. What purpose would humans have in a LBT movie if they couldn't even interact with the dinosaurs. Also, how would the kiddie dinosaurs out-smart a human if they were attacked by one? In reality, all animals live by instinct. They can't really think on their own. But the dinosaurs in LBT apparently have the brains of humans.

The size difference is also a major factor. A human, compared to Littlefoot, would be about half taller than him, maybe a little shorter. Wouldn't it just be pathetic to have humans so tiny? How could they pose any kind of threat if they were that small?

The way I see it, humans in LBT would be nearly impossible unless they did some awkward changes, like made humans gigantic just to make them fit in with the dinosaur characters.

Silver Screen / Equilibrium
« on: November 03, 2006, 05:52:25 PM »
Has anyone seen the movie Equilibrium? I remember my mom came across it on netflicks, so we rented it and watched it at night. I've never even heard of the movie before that.

It's really a shame that the movie didn't receive much attention. :( I heard it was because it came out when the Matrix did, so as a result, it got a really low budget. It's a very excellent movie though...really.
