Reminiscing About The Past

People say I'm way too sentimental, and they're probably right.  But I just couldn't help but save screenshots of how things were years ago on GOF.  



Back when we had that old (and if I may say so, not so great) scheme on GOF.  I must say, it took a while for me to embrace the green color, but I like it much better now.  Few of you were around back in the good old days.  

Oh, and I realized that those screenshots have a 1,024x768 resolution.  Man things change.  Back when I first joined, I had a regular flat panel 15" monitor that had a maximum resolution of 1,024x768.  

Thing sure change a lot through the years.  I would have never guessed back then that I'd be where I am today and doing what I'm doing.  The middle picture of my profile shows the relative date back then, but that was later than the first and last photos because I had over 1,200 posts then.

So, what do you think?  Am I too sentimental?  Did anyone else save screenshots like this?

Well, I never thought about saving screenshots like that before, but now I think that they are a good way to remind us that things change. I mean, we all know that things change, but we can't really understand it until we see it happening to ourselves.

For example, I recently had to have my hair cut short, due to an infection behind my ear, adnI saved the hair that was cut off because I couldn't let go of it. I liked having long hair, and I was very reluctant to let go of it. But now that I look back on the event, I realized that I didn't change that much, save for the constant washing behind my ears   .

Took a while for me to adapt to the green border and all too, but I must say I love the way it is now. That wayback machine is really awesome ^^

The color scheme used to be really wacky if you could get back to 2004/2005.  I think I had a black and white image as the background if my memory serves me well.  The light pink you see on some of the text (ie "1 user(s) are reading this topic") has survived six years of change.

I don't think you're too sentimental.  A lot of members have celebrated their 1,000th post in some way.

Using the old invision address (before they made server name changes) can get you back to 2004 if you really want to.  If you wait around for a spell, the images will still load on those older views of the site.  Indeed we have changed.

I don't remember the original address and a hacker eliminated just about everything from the original place in 2004 or 2005 I think, so our old old history is...well....history.

Wow, I actually remember that "Sequelitis" board, even though I wasn't here at that time, it was when DH gave that link in FF.net.

Too bad about the hacker.

I actually liked our old look on this board, but it was a nice change. I guess I just have an odd taste in online skins....

Oh yeah, I remember the old times. A treestar was used as a background when I registered here. ^^  I actually liked the blue sheme... oh well, the green one isn't bad either.
