Blackclaw's Dark Ambitions
Part II of the Shadow Raptor Series

Blackclaw stood at the edge of a twisted overhanging cliff, overlooking the charred landscape he had long grown used to. the land was littered with streams of lava and a very active volcano stood loomingly in the horizon. Black clouds bellowed forth from the large crater of the charred mountain, rolling intensely and spreading black and menacingly across the sky.
The ground trembled from its quake and streams of ash and fire ascended from it looking almost similar to the occasional falling rocks that pelted the earth from the sky.
"Ah... home." grumbled Blackclaw "Beautiful, miserable... home."
He looked about the land, turning his head from side to side to plot his next trek. The cliff that he stood upon was joined to a long line of mountains, their stone faces descended sharply forming almost a perfectly lined valley into the chaotic land. Blackclaw knew what he had to do. He had to find his pack. The pack that he, his father and his brother had departed from just days ago to scout for food. Only to find themselves a few days later entering the Great Valley.
Though food there was in abundance, and it would had been heaven for any sharptooth of Blackclaw's kind, he and his conrads found themselves outnumbered and overwhelmed by the leaf eaters. His father was killed, and his brother's fate remained painfully unknown.
Blackclaw sighed. He desired deeply to avenge his father's death and his brother's capture. But he needed help to do so.
He turned from the view of the charlands and made his way down a rocky path that lead steeply down the rigid mountain side.
"Revenge." he said to himself "Yes, sweet delicious revenge."

ooc: I'll temporarily play the part of the gang for this post. This is just to help move the first post along.
Denton giggled as he joined the others in a game of treeseed toss, he swatted the large seed with his tail to Littlefoot who quickly did the same. Petrie and Ducky were trying to catch it from the two longnecks.
Petrie flew at the seed while it was in mid flight and knocked it from its next projectory and into a nearby wall where it landed on the ground and rolled to a complete halt. Petrie flew and landed atop the seed and gave a victory smile at the others
"PWNED!" He said with a laugh and the others gave him an odd look
"What does that mean?" asked Denton
"Beats me." responded Littlefoot
Petrie seemed confused by his victory chant himself, such a strange word "Me guess it means 'win'." He said with a half pondering look
"Well whatever it means, you're not the winner yet!" said a familiar voice. Cera then came dashing forward, her head tilted in a head butt position and geared towards the seed. Petrie gave a cry and flew out of the way as Cera's head came into contact with the seed, sending it flying fast through the air.

"It does sound like it means I win, but you have not won yet, no, no, no." Ducky said as she shook her head.
Mim was over near where she stayed. She had just woken up and had slipped outside, going quietly so as not to awaken anyone who was nearby.
Petrie continued to watch to see how the game would go and if he could help. "Now Cera join, game change maybe." He said.

As the treeseed flew through the air thanks to Cera's headbutt, another flyer snatched it out of the air with his tail and said "You guys can't be serious...starting this game without me!" Cyrix then stepped out into the morning light and said "Now nephew, we won't have a repeat of last time will we?"
The flyer known as Longtail nodded his head at his uncle and said "Yes sir..." he then looked down and said "Hey Littlefoot catch!" As he whacked the seed with his tail and sent it towards the ground.

Littlefoot ran forward and whacked the seed with his tail, hitting it over towards Cera. Ducky and Petrie cheered them on, for now.
Mim stretched and went out to look for some morning food before looking for some water. She'd look for the others later on, plenty of time.

Cyrix decided to sit down in the grass underneath him and watch the children play their game. After all it was the early morning, and nothing bad was going to happen anyway.

Mim finished her morning snack and went over to where some water was to get a drink. Then she decided to go in search of where Cyrix and the others were. She decided to head off for the closest likely spot and work from there. She could always snack on the way if she got hungry again.

Vylor and Argaya were sitting on the stone in the Thundering Falls as usual.
"Do you sense something?" asked the golden longneck.
"Yes." Replied the silver longneck.

Longtail suddenly stopped as the seed bounced off his head...his face had this blank look to it before he said aloud "I'm hungry...can we take a break and go eat?" he asked the others around him.

The two longnecks then stood up, and walked to the path that led straight to the base of the Thundering Falls.
(They found it after Vylor broke his leg in the previous RP)

Cyrix upon hearing his nephew's comment stood up and said "I believe that is a very good idea!" He then gestured to the other children, as he continued speaking "I say we all go and find some food. Who would like to come along?"

"Well.. I am feeling kinda hungry." commented Denton, and he looked at his tmmy which made a low growling noise. He then looked up at the others with a blush
"My tummy talked" he said

Cyrix and Longtail both chuckled at Denton's statement as Longtail said Yeah I can hear mine talking too!"

Ducky nodded, as her stomach rumbled, "Mine talked too. Stopping to eat is a good idea, yes it is." She said putting her hand on her stomach. Littlefoot and Petrie nodded agreeing with what Ducky said.
Mim walked over to the area where she heard some familiar voices coming from. She smiled as she walked into the area, waving to some of those and saying, "Hello, so here is where everyone is." She said.

Longtail grinned like a kid in a candy sotre as he shouted "Hi aunt Mim! We were just going to find breakfast! Wanna come with us?!" Cyrix chuckled and said "Good morning Mim, how are you?"

Ducky and Petrie wave to Mim, and along with Littlefoot say, "Good Morning Mim."
Min nods smiling , "Hello Cyrix, Longtail and everyone." She looks over at Cyrix, "I'm doing fine." She looks between the two then the others, "I've not had breakfast yet really. You folks decided where you want to go this morning?" She asks.

Cyrix smiled as he replied "No we haven't decided on where to eat yet...but I'm sure the children can choose a good spot." he looked over to Littlefoot and the others as he said "Well young ones any ideas?"

Mim looks at the kids present, "Do you young ones have a place that is your favorite place to eat breakfast?" She asked.

As Longtail thought about this he began to chew on the tip of his tail...as it was a bad habit he formed when he was little. Then an idea came to him!
Hey how about we eat near the Thundering Falls...the water is so much fun to look at!" he said with a childlike smile on his face.

Ducky and Petrie nodded. "That is a good place, yes it is." Ducky said.
"That's a good idea, does everyone else wish to go there." Littlefoot asked as he looked from one to the other.
Mim nodded, "Sounds good to me."
"Me thing that good idea, lets go." Petrie said.

Both Longtail and Cyrix had these ear to ear grins on there faces....as they looked at each other, and knew exactly what they were going to do once they arrived...and it wasn't going to be eating....even though both of them were quite possibly starving from the lack of a dinner last night thanks to Cyrix extra long training lesson!

Ducky got onto Littlefoot while Petrie flew up into the air to fly in the direction of where they were going to go. Littlefoot looked around at the others, "Is everybody ready go go?" He asked, waiting to see if there were any who were not ready.

Denton liked the idea and nodded "I'm ready!" he said.
He had only seen thundering falls once since he left his nesting ground and that one time was enjoyable enough to warrant more visits in the future

Littlefoot nods, "Ok, lets go." He said before he set out leading them to the thundering falls, except for those who may go beside him or ahead of him that is. Ducky rode on his back and Petrie flew ahead.
Mim walked a bit behind him, not in an especial hurry to get there and knowing the way also. "That is a nice place." She commented as she walked along.

Cyrix walked in step with Mim still thinking about that captured sharptooth and what would happen if he escaped. Longtail however flapped his wings and got ahead of the group.
Cyrix continued to look up at the sky and wonder what adventures the great beyond had waiting for them.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the valley
Several of the grownups stood guard around the captured fastbiter. Agnog of coarse looked rather beside himself with grief. He lay in his bindings, seemingly in thought and not once daring to look at those who were guarding him.
An elderly Duckbill by the name of Syrius had approached the area and studied it with utmost curiosity.
"Fascinating." he said, tilting his head from side to side as he studied the sharptooth "Yes, very fascinating indeed. What are you feeding him?"

Grandpa longneck looked over at Syrius and replied "He seems to have gotten used to eating green food, however I don't believe we should let him go just yet. He may be tired but he can still be a real danger to the young ones."

"Hmm." said Syrius and he eyed the fastbiter more curiously. He aproached it and walked around it looking it up and down, taking in its details
"Such an interesting type, isnt he? Very week, yes. Clumsy and dumb even. I heard you've been trying to learn ways to communicate with him. Any luck yet?"
He ended with the question and turned to look at the elderly longneck

Grandpa longneck frowned as he said "Well....none of us guarding him have learned how to speak any form of sharptooth..." then he remembered something "But Cyrix's nephew a flyer named Longtail has been learning at a rapid rate...you may want to speak to him."

"Perhaps I will... but first I shall speak to the creature myself." responded Syrius
he turned to the fastbiter
"Hello, Agnog."
Agnog's eyes widened some and he lifted his head looking at Syrius
"How know me name?" said Agnog just as suddenly and in clear (yet a bit broken)common tongue
"I know much." Said Syrius "Your father was a worthy apponent back in the day. Many times have we fought, he tried to destroy me, and I, him. It even got to the point that we knew each other by name. And he learned much of the common tongue from several of his encounters with me."
The other dinosaurs were alarmed by this sudden communication between the duckbill and the fastbiter, even more so that Agnog knew how to speak a little bit of the common tongue.
"You were always the rejected one of the family, no?"
Agnog frowned and nodded
"A pity" said Syrius

Grandpa longneck looked surprised as he asked "Excuse me Syrius....buy why are you asking such questions? However it may come in handy when or if we let him out." The elderly longneck looked around and noted that he could hear voices close by....near the Thundering Falls, and looked back to Syrius and said "Now may be your chance to speak with Longtail if you wish."

"Hm" nodded Syrius, he heard the children's chattering as well and knew what the elderly longneck was referring to.
"Good day to you, and good luck" said Syrius before proceeding into the direction of Thundering Falls

Grandpa longneck turned his head and nodded to Syrius and replied "Good day to you as well."

Naturally Longtail reached the Thundering falls first, and he was all too proud about it! "Yes! Now I get first dibs on the best treestars!"

Ducky was riding on Littlefoot's back and Petrie was flying not to far ahead of Littlefoot, use to and preferring to fly close to his friends in most cases.
"Be sure you don't eat them all." Littlefoot said, jokingly.
"I'm sure he'll eat only half and save you the other half." Mim said, joining in the joking around a little. She continued to walk along looking at things, including at Cyrix as she did so.

Longtail smiled and said "Don't worry I'll leave you guys some!" as he jumped into a nearby tree and started snatching leaves off of their branches.
Cyrix laughed at his nephew's actions and saw Mim staring at him...and he smiled back at her, wondering what she was thinking about.

Syrius soon aproached them, the large full grown duckbill nodded a greeting as he came near
"Hello, children. I'm looing for the one known as Longtail. Is he amongst your lot?"

Hearing his name Longtail immediately poked his head out of a nearby tree with a mouthfull of treestars. He swallowed them quickly and said "Yes...I'm Longtail....can I help you?"

Mim nods, and points up to where Longtail is. "That's him there, trying to outeat Littlefoot and Spike." She said in a humorous tone of voice.

"Hi Mr Syrius. No one can out eat Spike." Littlefoot said before he went over to a tree which he could reach with a bush nearby.

Petrie flew up to a tree and started to pull off some leaves, dropping some for the ones who could not reach, eating about a third for himself. It seemed almost like a game to her. Petrie waved to Syrious. "You want some ?" He asked him.

"Littlefoot is right." She said as she got off of him, "No one can out eat Spike, no, no, no." Ducky ran around and caught one, sitting down giggling a bit.
"Catch and eat the leaf. It's like a game, yes it is." She said. She then saw who had come hear, "Hello Mr. Syrius, do you want some tree stars?" She asked offering hers.

Syrius chuckled and took the offer
"Thank you, little one. I had'nt taken the time to even have breakfast this morning so your offer is more than generous."
Syrius gulped down the small portion of food and turned looking at Longtail
"I was told you were learning the language of the Sharptooth. I am most curious of your learnings."

Longtail blinked and said to Littlefoot "I can so outeat Spike...just watch!" THen he heard Syrius question and quickly climbed down the tree carrying with him a tail full of twigs and leafs still intent on beating Spike in this unofficial eating contest.
He then answered Syrius' question by saying "Well, I was alone for a long tim e in the Mysterious Beyond before I came here...so I picked it up along the way. I can only say a few phrases, but thanks to that sharptooth the elders caught a while ago I've learned much more...I can almost speak sharptooth without a problem!"
Then a thought crossed his mind "But why do you ask? Am I in trouble?"

"Oh no, my dear child.there is no trouble." chuckled Syrius "I just find a fascination in knowing that there are others like me who were willing to learn the trade. Just so you'd know, I've trained young ones like yourself in Sharptooth combat and understanding."

Cyrix walked over and patted his nephew on the head before he asked Syrius "Sharptooth combat, and understanding?" he then folded his arms and said "I thought I was the only one willing enough to travel the Mysterious Beyond and learn from them. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my endeavors....however I am currently overseeing my nephews combat training...."
Cyrix then got a smirk on his face as he continued "However if you would like a 'demonstration'....my nephew would be more than happy to show you!" Longtail's head snapped up from the pile of leafs and he shouted "WHAT?!"

"Oh, please do!" said Syrius with an amused smile "I would love to see what you've learned."
He turned looking at Longtail's uncle
"And it tis a pleasure to see another who shares my field of expertise. Would you happen to do it for sport? I once treated it as a hobby."

Cyrix laughed a bit as Syrius referred to it as a hobby and he replied "Well, I only see it as a necessity...as others will eventually need protection. And someone has to be there to guard them right?" Longtail on the other hand sighed...now knowing with his uncle near there was no way he was getting out of this now.
The young flyer stood up, shook himself off, and spread his wings extending the tips of his claws and tensed his body as he replied "Don't expect me to go easy on you....nothing personal, but my uncle would hate it if I didn't give it my all."

Syrius nodded thinking nothing of it
"Would you prefer I made it easy or hard on you? I'd hate to do harm on a little one such as yourself"

Longtail just smiled and looked over at his uncle as Cyrix responded "Oh please by all means Syrius give my nephew a good pounding...he has a little bit of an ego when it comes to sharptooth combat and a lesson may be in order."
Longtail's smile widened as he said "Careful uncle I'd hate to drag you into this...you know with your slow reflexes and all." Cyrix face reddened at that remark but he kept his calm demeanor and said "Okay...Syrius you have full permission to use any means necessary to win....just so long as my nephew lives."

Syrius chuckled
"Then come along, little one, let me see what you've got"
Syrius then resumed a battle stance

Longtail gave a war cry in sharptooth and charged! His first attack came in the form of a simple claw attack, followed by a tail whip. Hoping it would throw him off guard Longtail then tried for a headbutt not sure if it would really work.

Longtail was suddenly caught by surprise, Syrius had executed a tail whip of his own which threw the poor flyer hurdling at a speedily pace towards a large tree
the collision made a nasty crack noise almost the equivalent of a bat hitting a ball

Petrie threw another leaf, almost Ducky's size down towards her. It went down like a leaf would and went a bit away from where she was. She quickly got up and ran after it, soon catching it. She sat down and laughed a abit at the game she had invented for herself. Then the two of them sat, eating while watching what the grow ups and Longtail were doing.
Littlefoot was eating from a nearby bush that he could easily reach. He moved a bit so he could more easily eat while watching what was going on between Longtail and the grownup swimmer.

Mim nods, "Some of us have been learning some sharptooth, but Longtail already knew some. As obviously another young one knew it." She said, meaning Chomper, but leaving his name out since she wasn't sure he wanted to be brought into it and his not being present at the moment he could not speak for himself. "I've learned a little bit by living in the mysterious beyond before I came here, but likely nothing like you folks know." She said. She then get some leaves and set down to watch what would happen while she ate.

Longtail slid down the tree and rolled onto his feet, at first he was a bit wobbly but he quickly stood straight up and shook his head to clear the dizziness that swam about and quickly retaliated. He then took a deep breath...held it for a few moments and screamed....but it sounded more like a soft lulling song, but the effect was enormous! The ground began to shake, and leaves fell off the trees, and a crack formed in the ground...as Cyrix covered his ears from the noise and looked over to the others to see them doing the same including Mim.

Ducky dropped the leaf she was eating to cover her ears with a grimace on her face.
She ran over to where Littlefoot was and to the other side to lay against him so he could, hopefully, block part of the sound with his body.
Littlefoot, lay down with a grimace on his face and did his best to bury his head under his front legs. He lay his head on it's side so the ground could hopefully block one ear and did his best to put one of his feet on his other ear to try to block the sound.
Mim dropped the leaves she was eating also. She grimaced and grabbed one leaf in each hand and attempted to put one over each ear and then her hands over these to try to add an extra layer over her ears to block out the sound.
Petrie, with all the shaking and the sound flew into air, far enough so the sound was not so loud, but close enough so he could still see all his friends and see how they were doing. "What go on. Earthshake not like this before." He said to himself.

Syrius stood there with just the slightest sign of a cringe on his face. He looked at Longtail and waited patiently for the disturbance to stop.

Denton was right next to Littlefoot and in the same position, covering his head with his forearms and trembling at each quake of the disturbances around him.

Longtail finally stopped took another deep breath and collapsed on the ground utterly exhausted. Once the sound stopped Cyrix looked over and seeing his nephew on the ground sighed and stood up and walked over to the young flyer and said to Syrius "He is only supposed to use that move in an emergency as it leaves him worn out and tired. But my nephew is stubborn...." He then noticed that the elderly swimmer hadn't covered his ears and asked "How could you stand there and take that? The others and I were off to the side and had to cover our ears...why didn't you?"

"Well before I answer that question." said Syrius "I found that very impressive. though I fear it may have attracted certain attention from the others to this area of the valley."
As he said this he looked about the area half expecting Topsy to show his grumpy horned snout any second. but he then turned his eyes upon Longtail and Cyrix "And now to answer your question. I didn't dare cover my ears lest I became vulnerable by rendering my hands useless for battle. If anything, your nephew's attack had successfully given me a nasty head hurt. And for that, I bid congrads for succeeding in inflicting a form of internal damage. No doubt not any Sharptooth can ever withstand such an attack without fleeing."

Longtail was fast asleep by this point and Cyrix smiled as he replied "Yes...although you should really see what happens after he does that inside a sharptooths stomach! It really is rather impressive."
"I'm guessing Longtail was in another fight...I'm hoping no one got hurt?" asked Grandpa longneck as he came through a set of trees.

"Oh, of coarse not, my good fellow" said Syrius nodding at the elderly longneck "Longtail here was just showing me a few of his little battle techneaqes. No harm done except to one's eardrum and inner head"
"What is going on here?!?" came another yet familiar grumpy sounding voice. Topsy came into the clearing along with a few others from the herds

Cyrix immediately turned around and said to reassure Topsy "Do not worry Mr. Threehorn everyone and everything is alright...no one is hurt. This was merely a demonstration." Grandpa longneck looked around and said "Well as long as everyone is safe and unhurt I suppose we can go back to what we were doing before. Just make sure Longtail gets a nice long rest."

"Such a kind chap to suggest such a thing" chuckled Syrius "We all could use a bit of a rest, I suppose. But then, these treestars simply aren't going to eat themselves!"
He walked over to a nearby tree and started to pull at the branches "I'm about due for a second breakfast then a good mid day's swim."

Ducky stayed in her position for a bit longer to be sure everything had stopped for good before she peeked around Littlefoot. She saw Longtail asleep, or looking like he was anyway, and uncovered her ears. She rubbed her head a bit.
Littlefoot had done his best to keep his eyes on Longtail to see what would happen. Once the noise stopped he uncovered one ear to be sure it was fully over. He slowly stood up when it looked like it was over.
Mim uncovered her ears, eating the leaf she had in each hand before gathering around her the ones she had previously. "A most unfortunate thing to do. Hopefully he'll learn more control in time. Imagine if he was playing a game with his friends and got angry he got beaten and did that." She said.
Petrie waited a bit, but seeing Littlefoot was getting up he flew down to land on Littlefoot. "That like angry longneck stomping ground." He said.

Cyrix gave a short laugh as Longtail began to come to. Longtail smiled as he rolled out of his uncles grasp and right into a pile of leaves and started chewing on several. The rainbow face just sighed and shook his head and looked over to Mim and asked "Would you like to go back to teh cave? Or would you rather go for a mid morning swim?" with a sly smile creeping onto his face.

Mim finished a few leaves she had in her mind thinking while she ate. "I think, I'll let you pick." She said smiling.

Meanwhile, in the dark lands deep and far into the great beyond. Blackclaw was making his way through a large brier patch,large twisting vines with sharp pointed thorns, seemingly rotting in most places while still showing the slightest hint of green life in others. The large thorns were long and pointed, blood red at their tips and even painful to look at. Blackclaw was on a clear path surrounded by these terrible brambles and was making his way towards the very heart of the brier patch.
He was on his way there first to meet up with a distant cousin who lived there pretty much on his own. A fellow raptor this cousin was, but very strange and very different from most others.
Blackclaw soon came into a nasty part of the patch that was thick with the brambles and almost impossible to get through, the thorns closed in on him and were even starting to prick and scratch at his sides.
Blackclaw winced and grimmaced in the pain and agony of his trek
' How can any idiot live in this treacherous trash?' he thought to himself. And the very moment he thought this he stumbled into an opening and bumped right into his cousin
"Argh! Cant you pick any better place to live you idiot!" exclaimed Blackclaw as he rolled about trying to get the nasty thorns out of his body, often shooting a glare up at the other raptor
this raptor in appearance was almost too comical to comprehend for those who did not see him on a daily basis. His body scarred and scratched and even bruised here and there, one of his fore claws was rendered disabled and dead, sticking out like a rotted twig from a dead tree. His legs were bandaged with large banana leaves and his left eye was patched over by another leaf which was tied snuggly about his head with a lose string like vine
"My name is Torgo" He said finally "I take care of the place while the master is away."
"I know who you are you idiot!" Snarled Blackclaw as he finally stumbled to his feet while still scratching at his sores from the thorns.

Denton stood at the water's edge watching as Syrius swam about, the large adult seemed to move without so much an effot through the water. Denton was very curious and fascinated about the large swimmer and his kind
Soon Syrius's head emerged and he smiled over at Denton
"My, arent you the most curious little thing?"
"I'm sorry" said Denton
"Oh, dont be." Smiled Syrius "Is there anything you'd like to know?"
"How do you do that?" asked Denton, refering to Syrius's swimming techneaqes
"Oh, it comes natural. I'm a swimmer. Just like your friend Ducky."

Cyrix thought for only a moment and replied "I think you and i need a good swim. Help tone the body." he then blushed as he thought about Mim being in water made him blush harder than before as random thoughts swam in his head.

Ducky nodded. "He is a grown up swimmer. If you wish to learn to swim maybe he can teach you. I teached Cera's younger sister so he can teach you too, yes he can." She said.
Littlefoot looked at Ducky, "You did, I didn't know that, that is a good thing." He said.
Petrie nodded. "Me see her swim. Swim better then Cera, but no tell her, it make her mad." He said, scared of Cera when she was mad, though not as much as when her dad was mad.

Mim looked at Cyrix, smiling. "You wish to swim here or do you have another place you wish to swim?" She asked him.

Longtail walked over to the others with a smile on his face as he said "Oh yeah, watch this!" Then he did the one thing no flyer should ever do: He jumped into the water and dove under the currents!

Cyrix however thought Mims question over in his head as he replied "I know of a more private spot for us to swim in...I hope you don't mind." his face still a little red.

The gang watched with a series of "Ooohhs" and "Aahhs" Denton was most particularly interested yet too nervous to even put his left foreclaw into the water 'It looks so deep...' he thought to himself

Longtail would've come up for air about now, but he was facinated by something at the bottom of the pond....it looked like a hole that could actually lead somewhere and Longtail's curisoity had now completely taken over as he rose to the surface of the water and gasped for air.
He then spoke to the others "I think I found a cave....taht might actually lead somewhere else in the valley! I think we should check it out...." he then looked over to Ducky and said "You and I are the only swimmrs here, so do you want to come?" He then turned to Syrius and asked him "What about you? Would you like to come too?"

"Oh, I'm sure I'm far too big to fit into any cave that might exists down there!" laughed Syrius "You may go on without me, but I do bid you be careful. Such little caverns could posses potential dangers."

Longtail nodded and replied by saying "I will make sure that if something does go wrong, Ducky will be safe." He looked back to the others as he finished his sentence "My friends safety is more important than my own."

Ducky nods, "A little cave, it seems interesting, it does." She said nodding.
Littlefoot looked at the water, "I think I"ll stay here, I'm not a very good swimmer." He said.
Mim looked at Cyrix some ideas going through her head. She smiled, "I think I would like that." She said. Her face the slightest red.
Petrie looked at the water, an even worst swimmer then Littlefoot, "Me stay, keep Littlefoot company." He said.

Longtail smiled and said "Okay....Come on Ducky lets go find ourselfs some adventure!" He then jumped backwards into the water and began to swim towards the underwater cave.
Cyrix then turned and said "Please follow me...I'll be sure to lead the way." His face was still blushing but he was thanking the guardians she couldn't see his red face.

Ducky nodded and ran over to the water and jumped in following him.
"I hope they remember to be careful." Littlefoot said.
Petrie looked at Littlefoot, "They be back, you see."

Mim nods, "Lead the way." She said as she got up to follow Cyrix. She was curious and a little embarrassed, but exhaled and did her best to put it to one side. She would see when she would see.

Denton looked over at Littlefoot and Petrie
"Well, I suppose that just leaves us three. I think I prefer wading over deep swiming any day!

Blackclaw was still rubbing at his sores as he followed Torgo through the bramble infested forest.
"The master doesn't like visitors. The master will be very disturbed."
"Yea, well I dont think I like your stupid 'MASTER' anyway, so shove it and get me through this nasty murk!" snarled Blackclaw.
"Y-yes sir." stuttered Torgo. Blackclaw noticed all to well how Torgo seemed to have a clumsy limp in his walk as e often clumsily stumbled forward into a nearby thorn bush, though this seemed little to effect Torgo. He seemed pretty inmuned to it from his banged up body.
"What the heck ever happened to you?" asked Blackclaw curiuos of Torgo's strange wounds and disabilities
"I.. I displeased the master. I was punished. The master didn't... approve."
"You were beaten up by this.. master?" asked Blackclaw, now all the more bewildered
Torgo didn't answer but kept limping forward
"Now the master sleeps. Yes, the master sleeps til the dawn of the falling rock."
"The what?!?"
"The Master sleeps til the dawn of the falling rock. It will be getting dark soon. The master sleeps til -"
"WOULD YOU STOP REPEATING YOURSELF?!?" Screamed Blackclaw. His voice echoed throughout the dead lands and a group of disturbed flyers lurched forth from a nearby tree and high into the sky.

Soon Denton, Littlefoot and Petrie were taking some time to relax while waiting for Ducky and Longtail to return from thei trip to the cave
"I'm bored" groaned Denton

Littlefoot looked between Denton and Petrie. "We can do something till they get back." He said.
"Better then laying here doing nothing." Petrie said.

Dante yawned, stretching in the tree where he had fallen asleep. This action however, caused him to off-balance himself and fall onto the ground.
"Ow..." he said softly, rubbing his bruised tail, before standing back up and thinking...
"I wonder where everyone is?... "

ooc: I'm making these new characters so to make it easy for DarkHaumon (hope I spelled that right) to join the RP.
Meanwhile two very young duckbills had somehow managed to climb a large tree trying to reach a large berry that they had been hungrily been eying all morning. both the duckbill children a boy by the name of Brice and a girl by the name of Elie were climbing higher and higher giggling and licking their lips ever so hungrily, longing for the sweet plump and juicy snack that they were reaching for.
Suddenly Brice lost his balance and slipped off the branch Elie screamed and dashed forward to grab him, succeeding to do so bt finding herself joining him in the fall. They were very high up and their screams as well as the snapping of twings and rustling of leaves could be heard at their tumble

At the sound of the scream Littlefoot and Petrie looked in the direction of the scream.
"Sounds like someone needs help." Littlefoot said getting up and heading in the direction.
Petrie took off after Littlefoot, launching himself into the air, "Me hope it not scary they need help from." Petrie said as he took off.
(ooc: are they related to Ducky or Diver? Just curious.)

OOC: I'm back! Yay!
IC: As Longtail neared the hole at the bottom of the lake, he felt this strong pull and before he could turn away, he was sucked through the cave and had very little control over his course of movement while under the waters powerful pull. Of course the only thing that matter to Longtail now was making sure Ducky came out of this unhurt.

Ducky continued down, swimming well and easily. She didn't dive deep a lot as her sister did but still was able and did sometimes to get the tasty green food that grew down deep underwater. She followed Longtail and got sucked in also. She swam with the current to see where it would come out. Being a swimmer and having taken a deep breath of air she was not very worried at the moment about where the area came out or how long it was.

Longtail could see the end of the tunnel in sight which was a good thing as he suddenly realized he needed air! His luck held out as he managed to land feet first on a rock under the current and jumped straight up and out of the water gasping for air. He then looked back and saw Ducky swimming through the end of the cave as well and sighed with relief as he knew she was safe.
Cyrix had just reached the end of the path that lead to the private pool, and he pulled back several vines to let Mim go through first, and said "Welcome to the Rainbow rock watering hole!" and indeed the rock wall true to it's name was the color of a rainbow!

Ducky surfaced next to Longtail, a bit less out of breath then Longtail was. "You are ok, I am glad, yes I am." She looked around to see where they were, "but where are we?" She asked.
Mim smiled a bit bashfully, "Thanks, it does look like a nice place." She said. She then looked at the indicated rock, "This is a very amply named spot. How did you find it?" She asked before stepping through the opening to go through first. Once through she moved to hold the vines back so Cyrix could go through himself.

Longtail looked around and said "I don't know where we are, but I don't feel very safe here, I say we go back..." He then looked at Ducky and said "What do you think?"
Cyrix stepped through as Mim held the vines and said "Thank you...and I found this place by accident after a rock slide some time ago....when the light hits the rock just right it is said to make who ever see it happy no matter what problems they have."

Standing nearby to Brice and Elie were eating stood a medium-sized leaf-eater. Ateo, a black and white plateosaurus, was enjoying his meal when he heard the sounds of the screams. He shifted his gaze to see two young duckbills falling. Falling onto all fours, he rushed towards them as fast as he could. He quickly stood on his hind legs and used his jaws to gently catch the two falling duckbills by their tails before they hit the ground.

Littlefoot ran into the area, he looked around as he ran in, upon seeing the plateosaurus and the two litte ones that had been caught. "We heard screams, are they ok?" He asked.
Petrie hovered above Littlefoot, "They look ok, good you catch them." He said.

Mim held the vines till Cyrix was fully through. "Sounds nice, did you notice any effect?" She asked as she released the vines and went the rest of the way with him.

Dante had heard the screams as well, and as he rushed over, saw the two duckbills safe and sound. He smiled, and said
"Whew. When I heard the screams, I was worried that I'd be too late to help. Glad to see that you caught them,...?"

Ducky nods, "It may be best to head back, yes it may. We can tell the others what we saw." She said nodding and not feeling to safe in this strange place.

Longtail nodded at Ducky's answer and said "Yes let's go!" But as he dove back under water but immediatley ran into a problem as he couldn't go back the way he came as the currnet of the water was still moving, but he was not looking forward to walking through that dark swamp.
Cyrix heard Mims question, but he was too busy looking at the rock wall to answer. that happy feeling he had mentioned had taken hold and he had an ear to ear smile on his face he then turned to Mim and said "I would now like to take the time to....well...a...a family....if your willing that is."

Ducky looks around them, "If you were a bit bigger you could fly us both out." she said looking around them. "I could try to swim back and you fly back." Ducky suggested.

Mim looked at the rock wall, it did look nice. She was feeling a bit happy here, being alone with Cyrix in this nice quiet secluded spot. She could imagine swimming here would be as fun as in the regular place she usually swam and bathed, though with less folks around. She looked at Cyrix as he spoke to her. "Sure, if you'd like." She said, not quite sure what he meant.

Ateo slowly lowered the young duckbills to the ground and released them. He turned his head to Littlefoot, Petrie, and Dante, and nodded his head. "They're all right." He looked down at the duckbills and said, "You two should be more careful."
Lowering himself back on all fours, he realized he hadn't told the youngsters his name. "By the way, my name is Ateo."

Longtail liked Duckys idea of flying them out and said "That's a great idea, come on climb onto my back and we'll see if I can fly us both out!"
Cyrix smiled some more and said "It's nothing....come let us swim...that is the reason we came here right?" As he said this another blush apperared on his face and stepped into the water and still smiled as the water felt cool and refreshing against his skin.

"I'm Littlefoot and this is Petrie, I'm glad to have met you." He said nodding his head. He then looked at the two young Duckbills, "Do the two of you feel ok?" He asked.
Petrie landed on Littlefoot's back also, "Me glad to meet you." He said.

Ducky nodded, "If you are sure you can fly us out." She said before she climbed onto Longtail's back and took a good hold of him. "If you are not that is ok."

Mim nodded and followed Cyrix into the water. "It is, at least one of the reasons, to swim, be alone a bit, bathe a bit, and so on." She said as she stepped into the water. "This water does feel nice." She said as she smiled while looking at Cyrix.

Longtail smiled and said "Just hang on! And try not to look down." as he took to the sky to try and fly out of the swamp. He cleared a few trees, but was stoped short and tried to find another way out.
Cyrix looked over to Mim blushed and said "Well water is a helpful tool, especially to my nephew when he is upset."

"Ya, we good" responded Brice and his sister nodded in agreement, the two seemed rather shook up from their fall
Denton soon came to join them, he looked down at the Duckbills
"Say, they kind of look like Ducky.. only smaller."

Ducky held on as Longtail tried to fly out. "Can you fly between the trees?" She asked trying to offer some ideas.
Mim nods, "Water can be fun, and also very useful in various ways." She said, her tail swishing a bit side to side as she talked and looked at Cyrix.
Littlefoot looked at Brice and his sister, "They look like swimmers like she is. Maybe they are younger then her or they are naturally smaller as some are." He said.
"Maybe they mommy's nest near Ducky & Spike's mommy's nest." Petrie suggested.

Longtial gave a nervous grin and said "Well I can try...just hold on Ducky." With that he pushed his wings back giving him a boost of air and pushing him and his passanger through the trees and into the bright sky. "Well it actually worked!" Longtial however felt lighter for some reason...almost like he couldn't feel Ducky on his back...he turned around and looked worried and called out to Ducky and looked around for her.

Ducky looked around where she had wound up. A branch has brushed her off of Longtail and she had grabbed the branch before she fell off. It took her a few tries before she was able to get a good grip and pull herself up enough so she could get a let on the branch and then pull herself up the rest of the way.
She looked around to see where she was and where Longtail was. She then started to call out to him to see if he was nearby.

Longtail flew back down thorught the trees and using his uniqe flying skills was able to dogde inbetween the branches and heard Ducky calling out to him, and made his way towards her hoping to find her quickly so she wouldn't be scared.

Ducky called out again, sitting on a branch where she was. She also waved to try to draw his attention to where she was. "I'm over here!" She called out.

Longtail heard her call out and said "Okay Ducky here I come!" he then landed on a branch and looked around and saw her sitting on the branch not to far from him. He looked over and said "I'm coming to get you....don't fall" He then spread his wings and gently glided over the branch Ducky was sitting on and landed next to her. "Come on..let's get outta here."

Ducky nodded. She got up carefully and slowly, making sure to hold onto Longtail as she stood up. She then climbed up onto him, holding onto him as well as she could. "Let us see how far we can get this time." She said.

Longtail smiled as he said "Don't worry I'll be careful this time. I'll make sure you come out of this swamp." He then spread his two wings and slowly asended into the air and out of the trees making sure Ducky stayed on his back this time.

Ducky tried her best to keep herself as flat on his back, without interfering with his wings as she could so to lessen the chance of being knocked off. "I wonder how far we came." She said quietly, mainly to herself since she knew Longtail would be busy flying and likely to busy flying to talk.

"Nice to meet you Ateo. I'm Dante. Dante S. Starfall." Dante said, grinning broadly...

Despite the fact that he was indeed flying he took the time to answer Ducky anyway by replying "Well we came quite a way from where we started but I can still see the Tree of Life from here....kinda." he then found a perfect opening from which both he and Ducky could pass through, the flyer grinned and said "Here we go again...and this time, we'll both get out of here."

Ateo grinned softly. "Nice to meet you all too. So..what are you kids doing out here?"

"We were thinking of what sort of things we can do till our friends come back from exploring under the water." Littlefoot said.
Petrie nodded, "You have idea?" Petrie asked.

Mim nods, "Water can be fun, and also very useful in various ways." She said, her tail swishing a bit side to side as she talked and looked at Cyrix.
"Yes it can be and by the way how long can you hold your breath underwater?" asked Cyirx with a confident grin on his face as he said again "I'll bet I can beat you!"

Mim thought a moment before replying. "I've never thought to time how long I can hold my breath." She smiled, "Do you wish to see who can hold our breaths longer while underwater?" She asked looking at Cyrix while still smiling.

Cyrix looked at Mim and smiled back, then said "Yes...that is the challenge." Then he took a deep breath and dove under water waiting for Mim to do the same.

Mim nodded, she first exhaled all of her breath that she could then inhaled as deeply as she could before she dived under to follow Cyrix. She saw him once she was underwater and followed him.

Ateo looked a bit confused at Petrie's question. "Who? Me?" He asked Petrie.

Petrie nodded, "Yes, you have idea?" He asked.
"Or we can pick one together. If you want to join us." Littlefoot said looking at Ateo.

Longtail had finally cleared the trees with Ducky safely on his back, and then he asked her "Where do want to go now....I suppse back to the others right?" then he said aloud, but mostly to himself "But I would like to search that swamp for whatever gave me that creepy feeling."

Ducky nodded, "Yes, then maybe we can tell the grown ups about this swamp so they can explore it, or Littlefoot and our other friends can explore it instead. We've done a lot of exploring, yes we have." Ducky said nodding.

Longtail said "Okay we'll go back to the others and tell them about this place...now let's go." He then flapped his wings and flew towards where they had originally started from.

Meanwhile, Blackclaw continued to follow Torgo through the brambled forest, they'd soon come into a clearing as Torgo introduced Blackclaw to the location
"This is where the master lives." he said.
Blackclaw came into the clearing, perfectly rounded it seemed and the large bushels of thorn vines seemed to form a great wall about the place. In the dead center laying atop a large dirt mound of odd sorts was the skeletal remains of one of the larger sharpteeth, its skull perfectly perched at the very top of the mound as if it were on a natural alter of sorts.
"Wait a minute..." said Blackclaw studying the massive skeleton. "This... this... thing is your so called 'Master' ?"
"Y-yes" stuttered Torgo "The master lives here. He is very disturbed by your presence. The master is very angry."
"Yeah, whatever" grumbled Blackclaw and he went for a closer look of the remains
"No!" Cried Torgo "Do not disturb the master any further!"
"Torgo..." said Blackclaw with annoyance "Your so called Master is dead. Nothing but bones... Notta, zitz"
"No the Master is not dead! He is asleep, only not in the way you know it.. he is with us always!. Yes, the Master will awaken at the dawn of the Falling Rock!"
"Shut up, Torgo..."

Denton and the others continued to talk to the friendly herbavoe and muse over the two tiny duckbills when suddenly Syrius came hustling towards the group
"My nephew and niece, are they alright? Oh dear, their mother is going to be very upset with me if they're hurt!"

Littlefoot pointed with one of his front feet. "Is that them there? They are safe thanks to Ateo here." He said smiling, glad he had found a relative of theirs instead of having to go around nest to nest to ask. Though surely since they look like a type of swimmer he was sure Ducky and Spike's mother would know who their parents were, Ducky herself may know too.
Petrie nodded, "He catch them good." He said.

At that very moment Longtail came over the tops of the trees with Ducky still on his back and he called out with a smile on his face said "Hey Littlefoot do we have something to tell you guys! You are never going to believe this!"

Littlefoot looked at Longtail and Ducky, "I'm glad you both are safe, where did you go and what do you have to tell us?" He asked, curious and a bit exited at the news, his tail moving in his excitement.
"What news?" Petrie asked as he launched himself into the air to fly closer to them, to meet them, though to one side so he could accompany them to wherever they were going to land.

Longtial lowered himself down to the ground next to Littlefoot and said "We found an new swamp, but it feels kinda creepy and you guys know I don't scare easily...but that place just made me feel....unsafe." Longtail then looked up over at the two new swimmers and the new longneck and asked "Who are they?"

Ducky nodded, "It doesn't look like a nice place at all. We could not come the way we came due to some sorta fast water deeper down that flows through the cave to the swamp.
"Syrius called them his niece and nephew." Littlefoot said.
Petrie nodded, "They his family, but they ok." He said.

Syrius sighed and lowered his head to the two swimmers
"You both know better than to run off.. I'm.. well.. supposed to keep an eye on you while your mother is away."
"Sorry uncle Syrius" said both the swimmers and they lowered their heads looking ashamed
"It's quiet alright, children. I wasnt doing a good job watching you, so I'll take the blame."
they both looked up at their uncle then over at the other kids
"Why dont you both go play with your new friends? You'll atleast be much safer."
the two looked at their uncle again and nodded eagerly and soon they were off, running circles around Littlefoot, singing and giggling to one another often tossing up ground leaves as if it were confetti

"Oh dear" groaned Syrius "I hope you older children can handle that singing better than I can. I have to hear it almost all day when I have to sit them. In fact, I think my head pains are returning...."
He groaned again and made his way back to the water. Bryce and Elie continued their singing and running about in circles around Littefoot and the gang

Longtail began to laugh as he watched Bryce and Eile running around and decided to follow them running around. He then stopped and asked "Can I ask what your names are?"

"Me Ellie!" shouted the girl while still running and tossing up flowers and grass at random "And that my brother, Dumbutt!"
"Am not!" shouted the brother angrily and he gave chase to her "Am too!" Shouted Ellie back, still giggling at her little game "I'm Bryce, not Dumbutt!"

Longtail laughed again as he stepped inbetween Bryce and Elie and said "Hey let's go play another game..." he looked over to Littlefoot and asked "What game do you guys wanna play?"

Littefoot smiled as he he looked at the two little ones running around and swimming. Then he looked at Syrius At the mention of his head pains. "Head pains? I remember hearing Mim say if you chew on the bark of a certain tree it relieves pain, but I don't recall her saying which one." he said trying to offer what help he could.
"They cute." Petrie said.
At the question Littlefoot thought for a moment, "There are a few games we all can play, swimmer and splasher is one that it doesn't matter what size someone is. Does anyone have any other suggestions?" He asked.
Ducky nodded, "Yes, any can play that game, yep, yep, yep. We can use a small tree seed and play tree seed toss." She said, offering up another suggestion.

Longtail smiled as he said "That sounds like a good idea to me! So come on let's get playing I'm bored!" He then took off towards the Thundering Falls running and laughing the whole way there."Come on you guys hurry up!" he called back to them.

Dante ran up next to Longtail, grinning, and said
"Hey pal! Good to see you!"

Longtail smiled back and said "Hey Dante how are you doing! Long time no see! Where have you been? Out hunting fish again?" with a smirk on his face he then slowed down and waited for the others to catch up from behind them.

Ducky climbed into Littlefoot's back and they set off with the others. Petrie flew up into the air and stayed near to the others.
"Fun, no more boredom." Petrie said.
"Yep, yep, yep." Ducky said.

"Something like that. Hey, how about a race? Once the others catch up, then we can start. Sound fun?" Datne asked his friend, a mischevious smirk on his face...

"Okay but the loser or losers owe the winners treesweets! This is going to be alot of fun I can tell!" said Longtail standing next to Dante knowing Littlefoot and the others would like to play this too.

"Sounds like it could be fun." Littlefoot said nodding.
"Me think so to." Petrie said.
"What of the small ones?" Ducky asked.

Bryce and Ellie continued their prancing about they were able to keep up with the flyer no problem sense they were loaded with energy and free spirits, It was as if the two were already loaded with tree sweets. Perhaps too much of it in fact.
And as the others started their little race Bryce and Ellie just giggled and started to sing their usual chant whilst keeping their steady pace

From the grass and up the trees
where exists those tasty sweets

"Oh brother" said a nearby adult who was feasting on a small nearby bush along side of his mate. "These kids these days, and their silly little songs"
"I find it cute." giggled his mate and she continued to feed on the leaves while they watched the children run hastily past them.

ooc: This part of the RP is for LBTFan13's introduction. And yes, before you ask, Denton has wondered off again, that crazy lil dino!
Meanwhile, far from the others, Denton was nosing about the area exploring the safe havens of the valley. He had long wondered off while the others were chattering about the two swimmers and found himself caught up in his deep curiosity and desire to explore the valley.
He had even forgot what he was doing or where he was before as his mind was so caught up in his little curiousity and also the fact that he had picked up an odd scent.
Something or someone was close by him

Zaine sighed as he sat under a shady tree and looked up at the bright circle. He was once again alone with nobody to talk to, but he was kind of used to this thing.
"I wish my herd had made it to the Great Valley. Heck, I wish I had friends to hang out with."
Zaine then decided to get a drink from the small pond that was close by. He slowly stood up and began walking towards the water when he heard a noise from behind him. He turned his head around and saw a rustle in the bushes. Something was in the bushes, and Zaine started to get a little worried.
"Hello? Is anybody out there?"

Denton pocked his head out from the bush and looked directly at the other longneck
"Oh my... hello." He said "Where'd you come from?"
He stumbled out from the bushes to get a closer look, being careful not to frighten the new comer
"My name is Denton." he said, eying Zaine curiously

The gang of kids finally made it back to the Thundering Falls, Bryce and Ellie actually being in the lead and therefore winning the race
the two giggled and didn't seem to pay this much mind, they simply dove into the water and swam about beneath the water like flyers in a calm summer sky.
They both soon emerged their heads and looked up at the gang who was panting from exhaustion of the race
"The water feels great!" exclaimed Ellie excitedly

Blackclaw stepped closer towards the giant bones of the dead sharptooth. It was then that he realized the size of the skeletal monster before him. Much larger than any sharptooth he's ever seen.
"This master of your's" said Blackclaw, studying the remains "He's quiet big for his kind."
"Y-yes." stammered Torgo and he crept up next to Blackclaw, the poor raptor was trembling, obviously frightened, as if his master was going to awaken right there and devour him whole for disturbing his 'rest'
"The master is very powerful. He has killed many. The Master never approves of visitors. Let us leave, please."
"Nonsense" replied Blackclaw "Torgo, take a gander... what do you see? Just bones, right? Nothing but a corps."
He turned looking at Torgo, eying the poor raptor with a demanding glare
"Am I right?"
"I uh...."
Torgo gulped and looked at his cousin and then at the massive skull, two blood red lights burned from both eye sockets and seemed to be glaring hungrily at the two raptors
"Answer me, Torgo." continued Blackclaw, not noticing the activity behind him "Is the master... dead?"
Torgo shook his head and trembling almost uncontrollably tried to point his foreclaw in the direction of the skull
"The master has awakened!"
"What?" said Blackclaw and he turned lookinng at the skull, just now seeing the two eirie lights that glowed from it
"What in the name of..."
"Silence fool!" came an echoing voice from the skull, and Blackclaw knew the voice instantly
"F-f-Father?!?"
ooc: before anybody assumes the worst, no, Kragoth is not alive again, and no, the 'Master' is not alive either. The skull here is paranormally being used as a type of communication point between Kragoth and his son. There is much plot development here, and an interesting twist concerning the sharptooth corps. Ducky got off of Littlefoot, partially so she could go into the water and partially it would be easier for him to rest if he didn't have her on his back. "You just rest, you can come into the water when you are rested, yes you can." She said while floating in the water near the edge.
Littlefoot, though tired, made his way over to the water to drink some before he settled down to rest. He looked at the two little swimmers, "Looks like they won." He said.
Petrie landed next to Littlefoot. "They did." He said.

Longtail was far too tired to even respond as he simply gasped for air. Once his heart rate returned to normal he sighed and said "I've never seen swimmers run that fast before...ever! I know Ducky is one of the fastest in the group, but Bryce and Ellie have her beat...that's amazing!" Longtail then slumped to the ground and sighed and quickly fell into a deep sleep...

Cyrix was about at his limit, he needed air and fast! His head surfaced above the water and he drew in a deep well needed breath of fresh air. He then looked around and still didn't see Mim above the water...fearing the worst he started calling her name..."Mim! Mim where are you?" he then dove back under the water to search for her...

Zaine hesistated for a second before answering. "Uhh, Zaine. I don't know where I came from to be honest." Then he realized something. If there were more dinosaurs here. then maybe his herd made it.
"Have you seen a herd of longencks like me? Greenish color?"

"They are fast," Ducky said nodding, "Maybe it is that they ate many tree sweets, yes it could be." She said, resting while floating in the water.
"I was surprised at how fast they were too, but maybe that is one of their gifts." Littlefoot said, still resting after having gotten his drink.
Petrie nodded, to tired to speak. He rested on top of Littlefoot.

Mim was still a underwater and had come up a little under Cyrix. She used a bit of the end of her tail to touch a part of his body since her tail had longer reach then her arm did, while she smiled.

Longtail's eyes snapped open and he began to sniff the air around him...which in turn lead him in circles over and over again. He couldn't figure out what he was smelling, but it definitely caught his attention! He stopped for a moment and said "Does anyone else smell that?!"

Cyrix blushed as he felt Mim's tail brush against his belly and said "So there you are! I was hoping I'd have to save you..." He blushed again as he stepped closer and said "Well, I'm done swimming for the day...what next?"

Ducky, Littlefoot and Petrie start sniffing the air.
"I smell something, but I am not sure what it is, no I am not." She said shaking her head.
"It is pretty hard to smell." Littlefoot said before he sniffed a few more times before looking at Longtail, "But your sniffer may be like Chompers and better then ours, what do you smell?" He asked.
"Me not sure if me smell it or not." Petrie said shaking his head.

Mim exhaled all the breath in her lungs and inhaled once she got to the surface. Breathing a bit hard for a few seconds before she could continue. She nodded, "We can always rest on the grass near the water if you wish, it looks nice and warm there." She said looking at Cyrix then at the comfortable looking grass in the area she was talking about.

Bryce and Ellie looked up from the water curious of the going ons
"What's going on?" asked Ellie "What do ya'll smell?"

Denton looked at Zaine closely, studying his likes, then he shook his head
"No... I'm afraid not." he tilted his head with a slight frown on his face "Are you... lost?"

The red glow of the dead sharptooth's eyes slightly dimmed as Blackclaw and Torgo stood as still as rocks themselves staring frightfully at the giant skull
"Yes, Blackclaw," came the booming voice again "Tt tis I, Kragoth, your father, communicating to you from the second beyond."
"But.. but how?!?" stammered Blackclaw after finally finding the courage to speak "Your dead! And what are you doing in that horrendous skull?!?"
"Do you even know who these remains belong to, son?"
Blackclaw shook his head, no
"A long time ago," continued Kragoth's disembodied voice "there was a mighty sharptooth... all who saw him feared him... even his own kind, as he was but a mighty tyrant of the ages. Our kind called him Maganog."
"Maganog?!?" gulped Blackclaw "You told me this story once already, and your telling me this is our so called mythical hero of time's past?"
"Yes" replied Kragoth "Once though he stormed that very same valley so long ago, none could take him on it seemed, and he prayed upon the leaf nibblers there for some time until one day, one did come. This particular leaf nibbler was called many names from his kind, The Great One, the Lone Dinosaur, Tail Slinger, and so on. He and Maganog fought the great fight that has been passed in many versions of storytelling from one generation to the next."
"And he was defeated and sent fleeing from the valley and yadda yadda and so on" said Blackclaw rushing the story along in his own words "You still didn't explain why you chose this place of all places to communicate to me."
"What were you expecting? Cloud formations? Voices in the wind? Echoing water?"
"Well... uh... yes, I think" said Blackclaw blinking dumbly

Longtail stopped for a moment and said "Wait I recongnize one of the two diffrent scents...I smell Denton, and someone else....someone I don't know, lets go find out!" he said with an enthusiastic smile.

Cyrix nodded at Mim's suggestion and said "Yes resting in the warm grass would be nice right now." With a smile he then added "Let's find a bright circle spot to lay in together."

Littlefoot got a smile on his face, "Maybe he's met a new friend, someone who's just arrived in the valley. I wonder if their alone or one of the far walker herds has arrived." Littlefoot said, happy at the prospect of maybe meeting another new friend. "Lets go and meet them." Littlefoot said.
"Someone new, I hope they are friendly, yes I do." Ducky said getting out of the water and onto Littlefoot's back.
"Me hope they no scary." Petrie said, flying over to Littlefoot's back and looking around quickly a time or two to be sure no one scary was around.

Mim nodded, "Good idea, we can relax, dry off and think of what next fun thing we wish to do." she said while swimming beside Cyrix.

Longtail took several more sniffs and said to the others "This way I'm sure of it!" As he continued to lead them on...

Cyrix walked over to the perfect spot on the warm grass and waited for Mim to lye down first, after all it was ladies first!

Zaine's scent of hope suddenly faided, and he sighed. "I'm not lost, but I'm alone here. My herd and I were seperated by the big earthshake, and I haven't seen them since. I fear that..."
A tear drop slowly fell from his eye.

Littlefoot looks at Longtail, "Lead the way." Then he looks at everyone else, "I hope no one else gets lost or left behind." He said.
"I wonder if the new person he sells is a Spike tail, a three horn, or a long neck." Ducky said.
"Or a sharp tooth." Petirie said, still thinking of their encounter earlier when someone wondered off and they went to look for them. He crunched down on Littlefoot to try to look smaller.
"If it is then you can fly away and tell the grown ups like last time." Ducky said, looking a little stirnly at Petrie, though it quickly passed. "Do not be scared, maybe it is another flyer like you are." She said to try to cheer him up.

Mim nodded, going to the sunny patch. She lay down then patted a spot next to her, "Going to join me or just look?" She said, smiling a bit mischievously.

Zaine then caught a scent he hadn't recognized before. Someone was approaching them. "Uhh, Denton, are there any sharpteeth here or other evil things I should know about?"

OOC: I do apologize for not posting. I didn't really have any ideas. I do hope this post is all right.
BIC:
Ateo had departed from the group to return to his home. He didn't live inside the valley; he took shelter in a large cave that was just outside the valley, along the mountainous wall. It was where Ozzy and Strut used to reside, of course he was unaware of that. He had moved in there long after the egg-stealers had left.
Ateo just exitted out of the forested region and now his feet clamored onto solid rock. He turned to face the Great Valley once more, his mind pondering, thinking back to the children he just saw recently.
Some of the children seemed so familiar to him, especially that young longneck. Ateo smiled and closed his eyes. He would find out sooner or later. He then started the climb up the Great Valley's wall.

Longtail led the way...and after a few minutes of walking he could hear voices coming from behind a bush...one he knew immediately as Denton, but the other was a total mystery to him..so he did what any child would do...he poked his head through and said "Hi Denton..." Longtail then looked over at the green longneck and said "Hi...uhhh.....are you new here?"

Cyrix blushed at Mim's comment and he stared at her for a moment longer and then finally settled into the grass next to her and said "I think I'll just look at you until the bright circle leaves the sky." with a blush overcoming his face as he said this.

Littlefoot looked at Longtail with interest. "Can you see the other person Denton is with?" He asked with interest.
"It not sharptooth?" Petrie asked in his scared voice crunching up in fear.
"I think he would have said if it were, yes I think he would have." Ducky said.

Mim smiles, "and I may look at you till the same happens." Mim said smiling and looking at Cyrix, her tail laying to one side almost touching Cyrix's, seemingly by chance.

Longtail looked over to Denton and said "Could you excuse me for a moment?" He then pulled his head back into the bush and turned to Littlefoot and replied "Denton is with another longneck...but he's green...do you guys know any green longnecks?"

Cyrix replied to Mim by saying "Yes...yes you may." Cyrix then moved his tail to once side as well causing their tails to touch...and noting this Cyrix blushed, and just continued to stare into Mim's eyes.

Littlefoot nods, "Shorty is green. Why do you ask?" Littlefoot asks, curious. Finding it strange someone would ask about that.
Ducky nods, "We met him when we went to the place the longnecks met, we met Pat along the way also, yes we did."
"Me remember." Petrie said nodding and remembering that trip. He was glad that scary trip was over and they were back in the valley.
(ooc: at least to me Shorty has parts of him that look green. I may be wrong)

Mim blushed a bit when Cyrix's tail touched hers, she didn't know what else to say so just smiled a bit, embarrassed a bit as well.

Zaine looked up at the mentioning of Shorty. "Who's this Shorty you're talking about? Heck, who are you?"
Zaine wasn't sure if these other dinosaurs were friendly, of course they didn't look like they would be friends with sharpteeth.

(ooc: Wait till he sees them being friends with Chomper, he'll think very bad stuff about them. )
"I'm Littlefoot and this is Ducky a swimmer and Petrie a flyer. Shorty is my brother, adopted brother. He's with my father's herd right now." He said.
"Yes, Ducky is me, yep, yep, yep." She said waving and nodding a bit.
"Yes, me flier." Petrie said waving also. Both were still on Littlefoot's back.

Longtail stepped next to Littlefoot and said "My name is Longtail. I'm a flyer too. It's nice to meet you...if you don't mind my asking what's your name?" he asked looking at Zaine.

Cyrix was still looking at Mim when a thought crossed his mind...and he said aloud "I wonder what our hatchlings will look like?" He then began to blush harder knowing Mim had herad the question as well.

Zaine looked at them with a surprised expression. "Uhh, my name is Zaine."
He hesitated again before speaking. "How are you guys friends with each other? I thought longnecks only conversed with other longnecks."
He never learned the lessons Littlefoot and his friends had, so Zaine was really shocked to see a longneck friends with a swimmer and flier.

Longtail took a step back, spread his wings and bowed to Zaine as he said "Well then Zaine...prepare to learn a few lessons...the fun way!" As a smile came across his face as he said this.

Zaine took a step back, surprised by this energetic reaction. "Uhh, what are you doing?"
(ooc: i smell a song comming up. is it "it takes all sorts", because that would fit very well here?)

Littlefoot looks at Zaine, "Why should we not be friends? No one is better then anyone else. Though mother did think the way you did, and Cera's dad does too." Littlefoot said.
Ducky nods, "Yes, I heard him, I did. But Spike and my Momma say it is what the person is like inside not what he or she looks like or what kind they are is what should matter." Ducky said.
Littlefoot nods, "My dad and grandparents say something like that also." He said.
"Mine say that too, when she no saying, no fly in rain, big blow wind you no fly." Petrie said.

Mim shrugged looking at Cyrix, "I would guess like you. I look more like my dad then my mother, why shouldn't they look more like you then me." She said noticing his blush but not pointing it out and answering the question honestly. She did wonder also but assumed like she had said.

"You see Zaine." said Longtail "Even the grownup's know that having friends is a good thing...I'd like to be your friend too." he said with a smile.

Cyrix smiled as he replied to Mim "Well I suppose we'll just have to see when the time comes...won't we?" as his blush began to disappear.

Zaine sighed. "I don't know. This is all strange to me. I want to be happy, but for some reason I can't. I remember when I used to be happy like you guys"
What he really wanted was to find his herd. He had learned not to trust anybody other than those of his kind, and now these other dinosaurs of different species are living peacefully together in harmony.
Zaine started remembering when he was younger and used to have fun with his herd. He looked at Littlefoot and the others and then looked up at the sky and began to sing:

Longtail began to think about his past as well when Zaine was finishing the song remembering and started singing to himself...

Longtail then smiled and looked up at Zaine and replied "Don't worry...we here in the Great Valley look after each other...and we'll do the same for you!"

Littlefoot nods, "Yes, friends are important we can all be your friend if you want." Though thinks to himself except for Cera's dad, he doesn't like anyone.
Ducky nods, "We all will be, but only if you wish." She said.
"Me too." Petrie said.
"We can ask my grandparents if any new herd as entered the valley they will have greeted them with Cera's dad." Littlefoot said. Though he does so only to be grumpy at them and sometimes complain. Littlefoot thought to himself not saying it aloud.

Mim nods while smiling, "We will have to wait and see. And eventually make a nest, but plenty of time for that later." She said.

While listening to the others Longtail sat down on the ground and looked up at the sky....wondering what adventures they could all go on....

Cyrix nodded at Mim's statement and said "Yes, we will." He then gave a yawn, laid his head down on the grass and closed his eyes as he thought to himself 'A family....I may have a family one day...amazing!'

Zaine looked up at the others. But can we really be friends? I never knew non-longnecks could be so nice.
Zaine then smiled a little. "You guys are great. I can honestly say you are the first to call me a friend." His smile grew a little bigger.
"I would love it if you guys were my friends."
Zaine started feeling so happy, that he started singing again!
I feel so happy I want everyone to see!
It's like the bright circle is shining inside of me.
When I first came to the valley, I felt so alone.
Because there was no one that I had known.
But now you guys are my friends and I'm feeling really glad

Littlefoot nods, "No reason we can't be, there are many different kinds here in the great valley." He said.
Ducky nods, "Many indeed. I wonder how many." She said, her face scrunching up as she tried to count the different kinds of dinosaurs she has seen in the great valley.
"Me no count that high." Petrie said.
"Me neither, no, no,no." Ducky said shaking her had giving up after she had gotten as high as she knew how to count.

Mim saw Cyrix with his eyes closed and enjoyed being there enjoying the warmth of the area with him. She smiled herself and hesitantly put out a hand to put it over his lightly. She had been looking for a mate, but had hardly believed she would find one one day.
She wondered what the rest of the day would bring, but whatever it would bring she would enjoy the pleasant moment they had right now. Later on would take care of it's self in time.

Longtail then stands up on his feet and said "Come on, let's go have some fun! I still wanna check out that swamp Ducky and I found earlier....there was something about that place..." Still thinking aloud Longtail then said "I wonder if there is any other way to get there?"

As Cyrix slept he began to dream...
"Come on dad keep up!" called an eager young voice and Cyrix simply chuckled in response. Another voice then said "Yeah can we go see cousin Longtail...please?" The male rainbow face looked down and said "Now young ones, we can't bother him every single day...he needs to be with his friends too."
"Yeah but they always go adventuring and we wanna go too!" Cyrix gave a light hearted sigh, and said "Listen you two...your mother would be very upset if I let you do that..."
Then a loud bang could be heard and it jerked Cyrix from his peaceful sleep and curiosity made him look around for a moment before looking at Mim again and asking "Did you hear that?"

Littlefoot thought a moment. "Well, we can try going the way you and Ducky came here, though most of us are not flyers." Littlefoot said. He then looked at the others, "What do you folks think?"
"That sounds like a good idea, yes it does. Though we have to be careful." Ducky said.
"Sound scary," Petrie said, "better stay here and play." He said.

Mim was lightly dozing till she thought she heard a sound. She then sat up and looked in the direction she thought it was coming in. To Cyrix's question she nodded, "Yes, I wonder what it can be." She said.

Longtail's eyes suddenly went wide, and his breathing became heavy and as he turned around he began to walk backwards until he bumped into Denton...he was scared enough that his body was shaking... 'What's happening...it's that same feeling I had back in that swamp...only it's much stronger now...I haven't been this scared...since...since...OH NO!' thought Longtail 'There is only one way I feel this scared...it has to be him!'

Cyrix looked over to Mim and looked her in the eyes befroe saying... "Perhaps we should check that sound out...it may turn out to be something the rest of the valley needs to know about."

A threehorn was nearby, trying to sharpen his horns against a rock, and in order to do so he charged at it again and again. This of course was no ordinary threehorn... his horns were placed differently than most. He had a single giant horn protruding out of his forehead and two minor horns coming up right above his nose...and his scales were an orange-red color, but in the light of day it looked simply blood red earning him and his kind the name Red Horns.
This particular Red horn was named Korr, and his herd had only arrived in the valley a few days ago, but something told him to be prepared for the worst, and again he charged the rock attempting to sharpen his horns.

Ducky looked at Longtail with concern on her face as did Littlefoot.
"Is something wrong Longtail?" Littlefoot asked as he walked over closer to where Longtail is.
"You can tell us, do you feel sick?" She asked walking closer too.
"Maybe he have scary thought, me do sometimes." Petrie said.

Mim nods, "We should. I may be nothing important, or it may be something others should be told about." She said.

Zaine looked concerned for his new friend, especially since he had never seen Longtail do this before.
"What's happening? What's wrong?"
At that moment, he smelled something again. "Hey guys, I think we're being watched or something."

Meanwhile, once more at the sight of Maganog's Skull, Blackclaw and Torgo remained in deep conversation with the disembodied voice of Kragoth who's spirit resided in the giant sharptooth's skull
"I sense you desire to return to the valley." Said Kragoth "Why?"
"To find my brother..." said Blackclaw "I believe he's being held captive by the leaf nibblers."
"That he is." Responded Kragoth, confirming Blackclaw's suspicion "But I sense more than just the seeking of your brother."
"Revenge." responded Blackclaw
"Revenge?" questioned Kragoth
"Yes, father, revenge..."
At these words, Blackclaw started to nod his head and hum a low and steady tune, it sounded like a marching tune of sorts, with a steady beat
"Oh, don't you start singing!" growled the haunting voice of Kragoth
"Oh? Why shouldn't I?" asked Blackclaw. "I just want what is best!"
Revenge.
"The- the master doesnt like singing" Stuttered Torgo
"Shut up, Torgo" replied Blackclaw before continuing his tune
Revenge!
Its a most glorious thing!
Revenge!
It has a notorious ring!
Revenge!
Oh it just makes me want to sing!
"Well your singing is atrocious! I say you should stop now while my patience is still fresh!
"Nonesense, father" smirked Blackclaw "There's not much you can do to me... DEAD!"
Revenge!
Blackclaw continued to move about bobbing his head and humming to the tune. He then continued:
The meaning is clear,
To avenge your death
and release my brother!
And then make them suffer!
Revenge!
Kragoth's annoyed growl seemed to echo from the skull while Blackclaw seemed to be rather enjoying himself
"Oh for the sake of sanity, stop this annoying music!"
At these words, Torgo stopped tapping randomly on a nearby dead tree trunk and dropped the bones he was using for drum sticks
"Blackclaw..." continued Kragoth's irritated voice "I demand to know what exactly it is your planning on doing! And in a clear none singing tone!"
"Oh, all you had to do was ask!" chuckled Blackclaw "I'm going to summon the help of our pack... the whole family will join me for a grand feast in the valley!"
"And what makes you think they're going to listen to you?!?" demanded Kragoth
"All they need to know is that there's food... and LOTS of it!"
Blackclaw then smirked and decided to annoy his father even further

Kragoth's annoyed roar seemed to echoe throughout the valley, Torgo cowered away in fear, still believing this voice was the voice of his Master, and that he was about to summon the dawn of the falling rock to stop Blackclaw's putrid attempt at singing

"What's going on?!?" asked Denton, finally finding the courage to speak. He looked at Longtail just as the others were at that very moment. Bewildered by this strange behavior

Zaine looked at Denton. "There's something wrong with Longtail. I think he's feeling some sort of pain!"
Zaine smelled the scent again. "Denton, are there any sharpteeth in the Great Valley, because I smell something, and it isn't friendly."

Littlefoot nods, "There is Chomper, but he's a friendly sharptooth. We hatched him. All the grownups know he's here and let him and Ruby stay in some caves. Ruby is a fast runner who was asked to take care of him by his parents from what they say." he said.
Ducky nodded and jumped saying, "He is this tall." She said jumping and getting close to how tall he was, "Yes he is." She said.
"Not even me afraid of Chomper, he friend." Petrie said nodding.

Mim started to get up as quietly as she could, looking in the direction the sound came from.

Longtail finally remembered that he had been holding his breath...and he exhaled...and took several more deep breaths to refill his lungs. After finally getting his second wind...Longtail looked at his friends and knowing they were concerned for him and after hearing Denton's question he replied "No...this isn't a sharptooth...this is something much worse....far worse than I want to meet...but he is here...and if he finds me...you all may be hurt because of me."
Meanwhile in the nearby bushes another Red Horn was watching these kids with intrest.... 'So the freak is here...the boss will be too happy to hear about this.'

Cyrix looked worried now...he didn't know where Longtail and the other young ones were and if they were in trouble...they would need help. He turned to Mim and said "Let's get a move on... we'll find the little ones first and then we will tell the other elders."

Korr was finally done sharpening his horns when another of his kind came running at him almost too fast to stop...but he did and their faces met and Korr asked "What do you want?" The other Red Horn smiled and said "The freak is here...."

Blackclaw finished his song and smiled mockingly at the skull
"Are you done, yet?" hissed Kragoth's voice
"Indefinitely!" replied Blackclaw
"Good!" said Kragoth "I never want to hear you sing EVER again!"

Syrius raised his head from a nap and started to sniff the air
That's an odd smell. he thought to himself, and he continued to sniff about One I don't like at all.
He stood himself up and started looking around, he noticed an eerie silence about the place, one that he grew very suspicious of.
I've better investigate.

"And now, that we can talk on a normal level." continued Kragoth "I did come here on the gravest of warnings, Blackclaw."
"I know, I know... you don't want me to reenter the valley. You know what, father? You've held me back from doing what I've wanted to do all my life. And now that your dead, I can finally do what I want. I will not heed yo-"
"SILENCE FOOL!" Roared Kragoth's voice, Torgo was now trying to squeeze himself into the thorn wall trying to get to safety from his 'angry Master'.
"My warning is FAR more graver than that! Heed my warning, Son, the Children of Maganog still live! And they kill everything in their path, even fastbiters... even their own kind."
Blackclaw stood silence at the mentioning of Maganog.. and the word 'Children'
"You mean... Maganog had..."
"Yes..." replied Kragoth sagely "He fathered five Sharpteeth, almost as strong and as powerful as he was. And it is about this time of the cycle that they are the most active. They will hunt and kill whatever lives... whatever lurks. You'd better heed my warning, Blackclaw unless you yourself shall become a snack."

Denton didn't like the news he was hearing from Longtail
"I think I should be heading back to my nest then" he said. He looked a bit shooken up at the thought of uncertain danger

Zaine didn't really pay attention to Longtail because he was too distracted with the bushes nearby. He could have sworn he saw someone whithin them. Zaine slowly turned towards the bushes and approached them. He stood right in front of the bushes and scanned them.

Littlefoot looked around a bit, "I wonder if some of those after Longtail may have come back. But we can't tell the grown ups unless we know for sure."
Ducky nodded, "It would be bad to tell them if there is no danger, yes it would."
"Maybe we go where it safer." Petrie nodded, looking a bit scared as he looked around of for any danger that may suddenly jump out at him.

Mim nodded, "It is logical to secure the safety of the young ones before investigating. We have to be as careful and stealthy as possible as we investigate." She said.

Longtail looked over to Zaine and said "What do you see? Is it something dangerous?" And at that very moment the Red Horn in the bushes decided to make his presence known to the children...he charged forward pushing Zaine out of the way and knocked Longtail to the ground as he roared "You freak! You are coming with me...and don't let any of your little friends try anything brave or I may just have to hurt you and them!"
Longtail however had the wind knocked out of him and he couldn't immediately respond to the Red Horns threat...which served to make the Red Horn even madder! "You WILL ANSWER ME FREAK!" Longtail looked over at the others and wasn't sure what to do...so the Red horn decided for him, by kicking Longtail with his foot...and then picked him up using his nose horn and started to walk away...

Syrius continued to sniff about and study the area around him. He heard a rough commotion not too far from him and decided to make his way towards the noise
I wonder... he thought to himself and coming near the location he caught a glimpse of the redhorn roughly scooping up Longtail and carrying him away, nearby he spied the children who appeared rather frightened by the presence of the redhorn.
It was then that Syrius decided to step out and see what was going on, just as the redhorn started away with the limp flyer
"What is the meaning of this?!?" he questioned, stepping out before the redhorn
"What are you doing with that little one?"

"Longtail!"
Zaine rushed in front of the red horn and blocked his path. "If you want him, you're going to have to hurt me as well because I won't let you take my friend!"

Littlefoot stood his ground but did not get closer since he had Ducky and Petrie on his back. "You can't just take whoever you want." He said with no sound of fear in his voice.
Ducky whispered in Petrie's hear and he flew off after emitting a small cry as if he was terrified, which he was.
He flew straight up and then headed off towards where Cera's nest was looking for grownups, especially large ones like Cera's dad or Littlefoot's Grandparents. Some of the adults he flew over them crying out, "Red horn back, has Longtail." He said aloud flying along over some grownups while looking for some especially large and known to be brave ones like Cera's dad or Littlefoot's Grandparents.

Zaine took another step forward. "I won't say it again! Let him go now or I will make you!"
Zaine had no idea what he was getting himself into, but he didn't care. He had just met Longtail a few minutes ago, and now this creep was threatening him.

The red horn chuckled and said to Zaine..."This friend of yours is a monster...he needs to see my leader so they can 'talk'." The red horn had put a dark emphasis on the word talk and Longtail didn't like it...he also noticed Petrie flying away....hopefully to get help. But when Syrius stepped in his path the red horn glared at him and replied "I can do whatever I want here...this so called flyer on my nose doesn't belong here, so I'm taking somewhere else...and that should be enough for you!"
At this point Longtail really wasn't sure what to do...but he wasn't going to let this red horn just walk away while his friends just watched...so he bit down on the red horn's nose forcing him to yelp in pain, and Longtail slid to the floor and asked "Hey Syrius ready for a two on one?"

Syrius still didn't know what to make of the redhorn but was more than willing to oblige for a fight, as the redhorn didn't seem to carry good intentions
"I believe so" said Syrius

Longtail smiled and said "Good, now let's begin!" The young flyer then charged the red horn, and tried to head butt him, but quickly learned this was a bad idea as the red horn simply lowered his head exposing the sharp dominant horn on his head and Longtail barely had time to move out of the way! The red horn then turned on the flyer and forcibly stepped on his tail...causing Longtail to scream in pain unlike any he'd ever felt before...and then black out from it.

Cyrix heard Longtail's scream and immediately ran towards his nephew hoping he got there in time....

Syrius was quick to respond, charging and knocking the redhorn off of Longtail
"I will not tolerate your doing harm to this young one"
he said and he smacked the redhorn hard across the head with his tail

Mr Thicknose was eating at a site by himself, proffering to be by himself at times to think over things he heard and staying out of the silly postering some liked to do, and those sillier meetings of the grown ups where one half liked to argue with the other half and accomplish nothing.
He looked at at the Petrie, "What is the cause of all the noise young one?" He asked.
Petrie landed on a branch just above Mr Thicknose. "Red horn capture Longtail like before. He at (.....) " He said.
He had heard some of the others talking about that person, especially some of the farwalkers who visited the valley. He looked at Petrie, saying, "Go and tell some other flyers so they can spread the word faster. Tell some growups that are nearest to an exit out of the great valley to head there to cut them off in case they get past teh rest of us and the the other grownups to head to the spot." He said and set off to the spot.
"Yes, sir." Petrie said then went into the air to do what Mr. Thicknose and said, telling other flyers he said and any grown ups about Mr. Thicknose's plan.

"What you are doing is wrong." Littlefoot said standing his ground, but not charging since he knew his small size would do little good, and he was carrying Ducky also.
"It is, yep, yep, yep." she said noddeing as she tightend her grip on Littlefoot's neck.

"Stop it!" Zaine had enough and began to charge at the red horn. "Get away from him!"

The red horn landed with an 'oof' and felt as Zaine rammed his stomach as well and as he got up he managed to kick Longtail back a few feet which put a smile on his face and then he turned his attention to Syrius and Zaine...and said "You cant stop me...my boss is already on the way...and when he gets here...that freak will be his...no matter what!"
At that moment however Cyrix came running into the clearing and saw his nephew lying on the ground, unconsiouss...and he saw the red horn and wished he was having a sleep story but knew it was real! "Get away from my nephew you red horn!" he said with no fear.

Zaine held his ground. "I don't care who you are or who you work for! Longtail is my friend, and I will not let you or anybody else hurt him!"

Petrie flew on spreading the word to other fliers and other grownups about the goings on.
Littlefoot saw some new arrivals and decided to wait to see what would happen before deciding what to do next. Ducky was thinking if she should hide up in a tree or stay on Littlefoot. She decided she would remain where she was for now.
Mim arrived as Cyrix did. She remained where she was, looking around to take in the situation before deciding what to do next. Best to act on information instead of blindly she thought.

Meanwhile not to far off and almost arriving was Mr. Thicknose, going along as fast as he could but at a pace where he would arrive at the destination not out of breath, which would not be very helpful to anyone.

Syrius stepped up towards the redhorn, his eyes slanted in his anger
"And who is this boss of your's? What business has he to come and torment this poor young flyer? Speak now and I'll make these next few seconds less painful!"

Zaine took another step forwarf. "He may go easy on you, but don't expect me to. Either you let Longtail go now or I will make you sorry you ever came here. Your choice!"

Littlefoot looks over at Syrius, "His boss is a red one horn who hates Longtail for something like loosing in battle or something like that I think sir." Littlefoot said.
Ducky nods, "Something like that. Yep, yep, yep." She said.
Petrie spread the word about the red horns being back in the valley and what they were up to as well as Mr thicknose's plan.
Mim stood off to one side, going over to be with Littlefoot and the others. Easier to protect the young ones if she was closer to where they were then some distance away.
Mr Thicknose arrived. He had paced himself so he was no where out of breath since it would do no one any good. "That is quite a silly reason to be mad at someone, for beating you in a battle, and because they are different. Everyone is different then everyone else." He said. He looked at the red horn, "Why don't you save yourselves a lot of pain, anguish and such and just leave and pretend you never came to the great valley here. Though I assume you are to choose the hard way. Everyone seems to prefer the hard way for some reason." He said.

Just as the red horn was about to respond when a voice cut through the air...."Well my scout was right....the freak is here." The red horn that the voice belonged to stepped out of the bushes and was easily twice the size fo the red horn that ambushed the children. Cyrix nodded his head and replied "Well you must be the learder of this misguided herd." The large red horn nodded and said "Yes, my name is Korr...and I've been searching for this thing..." He gestured towards Longtail "...for a very long time."
"What did my nephew ever do to you?" Cyrix asked Korr. The red horn answer sent chills down Cyrix spine. "He killed my mate!" Cyrix first reaction was to laugh, but he thought better of it, and instead replied by saying "My nephew couldn't hurt a stink bug...why and how could he have possilbly killed your mate?"
This question however infurated Korr, and he looked over at Longtails body and smiled, as he said "It doesn't matter, I'm about to settle the score!" He stepped back and charged prepared to run Longtail through while still on the ground.

Mr Thicknose saw what he thought needed to be done and though not young anymore he wasn't to old either so when he saw what Korr was about to do he lowered his head and charged at Korr himself. As he did so he said, "I think you young ones should get out of here." He said putting all his speed and mass behind his charge at Korr.

Zaine looked in awe at the old threehorn. I can't believe he's actually helping us out, and he isn't the same species as us. I have to learn how Littlefoot and his friends do it.
After hearing the threehorn tell them to leave, part of Zaine told him to move, but for some reason he wouldn't. "Forget it! I'm not leaving a new friend in need. I'm staying!"

Korr never saw the charge from Mr. Thicknose coming..and he was sent sprawling to the ground. He looked up and saw Mr.Thicknose standing over him and he narrowed his eyes as he replied "Well this is a happy time...others coming to the rescue. That freak will still be mine!" He then stood up and began to walk away from the group, with his subordinates following close behind. He turned to Cyrix, but made his last message clear for everyone to hear..."That thing you call a friend WILL be mine, and when i have him....well you won't be seeing him ever again!"
And with that Korr dissappeared into the forest behind him.

"We'll be ready for you when you decide to come back!" Zaine yelled back. He then noticed Longtail was still unconscious. He ran over and kneeled down next to him. "Longtail? Longtail wake up."

Mim goes over to look at Longtail, "Maybe it is best to move him to a more comfortable and safer location," She said, "He will likely awaken in a short period of time", She looks over a Cyrix, "Shall I carry him or would you rather?" She asked him.
Littlefoot and Ducky went over to look at Longtail as well. "What is wrong with him?" Littlefoot asked.
"I hope he will be ok, I do." Ducky said.
"One of the red horns stepped on his tail and he passed out." Littlefoot said.
"Sounds like the level of pain may have rendered him unconscious since his awake mind may have been unable to cope with the level of pain, perhaps with the added stress as well<" Mr Thicknose said, "and I agree we, perhaps, should move him, or at least tell the other adults. Those red horns should be banished from the valley perhaps, at least as long as that one is their leader." he said.
Mim tried to check Longtail's tail to see if was bruised or broken. "Severe pain does cause some individuals to go unconscious I have noticed in the past, the case could have been the same here." Mim said as she checked on Longtail for any other bruises and injures including his tail and other body parts.

Cyrix gave a short laugh as he said "Moving Longtail won't be necessary or smart." He then picked Longtail up with one hand and gently poked the flyer in his stomach several times...and Longtail began to laugh, and squirm to escape and suddenly his eyes opened and as he stopped laughing he looked around and asked the others "What happened....why does my tail hurt?"

Zaine breathed a huge sigh of relief. "Thank goodness you're ok. That red horn creep stepped on your tail, but thankfully the other threehorn and I managed to scare him off." He smiled for his friend, but then he thought of something.
"Who was that guy anyway, and what did he want with you?"

Longtail blinked as he processed what Zaine had just said and he frowned as he replied "His name is Korr, and he wants to kill me, for something I didn't do...I tried to help I really did, but..." Longtail sighed and said again "I don't want to fight him anymore....but he's been hunting me since I met him in the mysterious beyond." Cyrix nodded and said "Don't worry my nephew...as long as you are here...you'll be safe!"

Zaine felt a little uneasy. "But are we really safe from him? I mean, he jumped us out of nowhere, and he almost had you. He could be watching us wherever we go and plan his attack." He looked down. "How do we know he won't use us to get to you?"

Ducky nodded, "He stepped on it." She said.
"How do you feel physically, anything feel broken?" Mim asked looking at Longtail with concern and also thinking. When she did make a nest, it had best be away from where he slept. He tended to do attack while he was asleep, imagine a playful minded hatchling nipping his tail or pouncing on him. No, she had decided, she would ask Ducky and Spike's mother if she minded her making a nest near where hers was. There was a family of swimmers near where her nest was as a hatching and young child and she got along with them well so why not put hers there, and it would be far enough away from where Longtail slept that if she did have any children they would not be in danger of being accidentally harmed.
Littlefoot looked at where he left, "He's just a bully, like certain others." He said but didn't say who.
Ducky noded, "He does act a lot lot like them, yes he does." She said, remembering what the bullies had acted like and said, including stopping them from growing.
"I do hope the other adults will listen to reason and not do like they always do, just gather at the meeting place and argue and get nothing done like usual." Mr Thicknose said, his eyes going to the top of his head as he shook his head in a dismissive movement.
"I noticed that myself in my short time here. Seems more silly. As silly as the Yellowbelles are of Berry valley the adults don't really argue, they get done what needs to get done. Though they do sing and dance often while doing it and afterwards." Mim said.
"Well, I do wish the grown ups here would do a little more singing and dancing and less arguing, they would most likely get more done." Mr Thicknose said.
Petrie continued to spread the word, likely to adults who would rather ignore him or argue then really do anything like most adults in the valley seemed to always do.

Zaine tried to smile, but when Mr. Thicknose mentioned the grown ups he started thinking about his parents. He wasn't sure if they had survived the great earthshake, and to make matters worse...
Zaine turned away from the groop and started walking away as a tear started to fall from his eye.

Longtail looked at his aunt and said "Well no nothing is broken, but it is still sore." He then listened to Zaine's comment and said "Yeah he can...and I'm sure he will try...no doubt about that! But the next time he strikes, I'll be ready for a fight, and he won't out number me again!" Cyrix sighed and said "My nephew there are alternatives to fighting..." Longtail however cut him off "But you just saw what happened he won't listen to anyone...not even Mr. Thicknose."

Zaine could still hear the others discuss Korr, but he didn't really feel like going back. Right now, he just didn't feel happy. "If only I knew where they were. Maybe then I could feel happy." Another tear rolled down his face, an then he had an idea. "I'm going to find this Korr and make sure he stays away from Longtail."

Mim nodded to Longtail, "I'm glad nothing is broken." She then looked at some of the others, "Any ideas what we shall do about Korr, he's libel to keep on till he is driven off or permanently stopped." She looked around a bit, "And did anyone see where that new longneck wondered off to?" She asked.
Littlefoot and Ducky shook their heads and started looking around.
"Perhaps he grew hungry or wanted to go back to visit his herd. Is there a herd of farwalkers, I've not been in this area for a few days. There was a rare thing I had to see a day or so's walk from here."

Cyrix shook his head as he replied "No..no farwalkers have come through here in some time...I'm wondering how that little one found his way here by himself." He then thought 'Well perhaps we should try to find his herd.'
Longtail was worried, but from what Zaine had said earlier he could handle himself...but Longtail still didn't want Zaine to be hurt as he said "I think someone should go after him...I don't want him to get hurt alone out there." Cyrix nodded and said "Good Idea nephew I'll start searching for him!"

Zaine found a small area and sat down. "I feel so alone. I know I shouln't because of all these other dinosaurs around me, but it's not the same. They all have a family to care about them, and I don't..." He started to cry a little harder until he finally screamed out,
"MOTHER! FATHER! WHERE ARE YOU!?"

A voice called out to Zaine, it was soft, and quiet but it sounded as if it was everywhere at once as it said "Young one... can you hear me? And are you willing to listen to what I have to say?"

Zaine's crying lightened up a little, hearing the sweet and soothing voice. "Wh...Who...Who's out there?"

The voice continued to speak "I can not be seen...but know this little one...You and Longtail are not so diffrent....you see he lost his parents too...the only problem is they won't be coming back..." She paused a moment and said "You still have a reason to have hope...while you may be sad...your sleep stories are trying to tell you something...you should listen closely, and speak to Longtail about his past...it will help him...and you!"
With that the voice stopped speaking, and left Zaine alone with his thoughts.

"Wait! Who are you?" But it was too late, the voice had already left. Zaine sat there wondering for a while. Who was the voice, and how did she know about his parents, and what did she mean about Longtail.
"This is all confusing, but maybe I should go talk to Longtail." He turned around and stopped for a moment, tinking. "I have to tell someone my past." He started walking back towards the group.
"I just hope Korr doesn't come after me."

"That big red horned creep was a real pootyhead!" exclaimed Ellie "Me no want to see him anymore after what he did to that poor flyer!"
"Maybe they wont come back..." said Denton looking thoughtfully at the others who were a good distance off "I hope they dont."

Syius had went to follow the redhorns to make sure they left completely, he soon returned seeing thicknose was still there amongst the children
"It seems like we have a completely diferent problem in the valley with these new brutes entering our little peaceful utopia."

Thicknose nods, "I would bring up to discussion about the past actions of the red horn herd and why they should, in my openion, should be banned from entering this great valley I know while some would take my side, Cera's dad and certain others would take the other and all the adults there would end up arguing and doing nothing while Littlefoot and his friends would have to do all the work." Mr Thicknose siad looking at the adult swimmer with a sad shaking of his head before he continued, "That is why, if you've noticed, I very rarely ever go to the meeting place."

Littlefoot nodded, "I've noticed that myself, odd, my grandparents and Dad do not argue. I guess some grownups like to argue." He said, "But we need to do something about Korr now so he won't, or can't, continue bothering and trying to hurt Longtail in the future."
Ducky nodded, "What can we do though, what?" She asked and wrinkled up her face while sitting on Littlefoot's back while she tried to think of an idea.
Mim nodded looking at Mr Thicknose, "I've noticed that myself in my short time here. I'd prefer to stick with Littlefoot and get things done then argue, a much more logical course of action." She said.
Mr Thicknose looked a bit sad again, "Yes, it is to bad some adults, "He said looking off in the distance then back to the group he was speaking with, "Would rather argue then get things done." He then looked at Littlefoot and those of his friends who were present. "If you take none of my advice but one I hope you take this. When you are older and elders of the valley yourselves, I hope you will do better then we the present elders have done." He said.

Zaine saw that the group hadn't left the area, so he started walking towards them again. Suddenly, he heard something in the bushes next to him. He quickly turned towards them. "Hello? Is anybody out there?" Since nothing responded or came out, Zaine kept moving towards the group.
"I really, really hope Korr doesn't get any bright ideas anytime soon."

Unfortunately for Zaine Korrs' second plan was already in motion. Korr quickly and quietly stepped from the bushes and backed Zaine into a corner and said "Make a sound and I'll stomp you flat!" Meanwhile with the group Longtail was listening to the others speak when his uncle looked over to him and asked "Do you have anything to say nephew?" Longtail cleared his throat and said "Yeah I do...if Korr ever threatens any one of us again....I'll fight him to the death!"
Cyrix sighed, but as he did Longtail's eyes began to move from one shadow to the next, almost as if he were expecting something to happen...then he began to sniff the air repeatedly and this caused him to walk in circles for a few moments before his right eye turned yellow, and he bared his teeth, and set the claws on his wings in attack position. Cyrix was now concerned as he asked "What...what do you smell Longtail?" The young flyer then narrowed his eyes and let a tear slide down his beak as he replied "Red Horns..."
In that one momnet a dozen Red Horns moved forward from the bushes and grouped everyone together making sure to seperate Longtail from them, all Longtail could do was sigh....and surrender to them.

"Oh for the love of life... Don't you foolish fogey's ever stop?!?" said Syrius who was still nearby. He stepped forward in between the large herd of redhorns and Longtail
"We dont want trouble in our valley, so sirs, if you'd be so kind, I advise you move along"

One of the other Red Horns laughed and said "No chance! This child needs to speak to our leader...alone." Another one said "Yeah...so you all need to just let us take him and go about your day."

"This child" sneered Syrius "belongs to this valley. and I dont think you have any good intentions with what you have planned to do with him"

Zaine stepped back. He wanted to call for help, but Kor was definitely not someone to mess around with. "Whatever you're planning, it won't work..." he said in a low tone. "Longtail will defeat you once and for all."

Korr began to laugh and it only got louder and harder and as the Red Horn's laughter came to a stop, he pointed his dominate horn at Zaine, and said "Move go right back to little group, who by now are surrounded by my herd. No funny buissness GOT THAT?!"
Longtail then said to Syrius "Let them take me." And this of course got a resounding "WHAT?!?!" from Cyrix as he asked "You know what they plan to do to you right?" Longtail naturally nodded to his uncle and said "Of course, but if you all get hurt then it'll be my fault...and I can't let that happen!" The little flyer then walked over to one of the Red Horns and looked to the floor just as they heard Korr walking up he said
"Good job boys...now this freak will be mine!" He then looked Longtail in the eyes and said "Are you ready?"

Zaine shook his head once Kor had left. "I don't care what he does to mr. He won't hurt Longtail!"

Korr knew that move was coming from Zaine so he sidestepped and let Zaine run right into Longtail knocking him to the ground. Korr laughed again as he looked at Longtail on the ground and said "See kid playing the hero only gets others hurt...that freak of a friend of yours knows that, that's why he made the smart choice and gave up."
Korr then walked over to the two and rolled Zaine off of Longtail and picked him up with his nose horns leaving to small cuts against Longtail's stomach, and he started to walk away with a smile and he said to the rest of his herd "If any of them try to move...well tell me and the monster will be punished some more!"

Damn. Why didn't I see that coming? Zaine slowly gets up, noticing the red horns still surrounding them. "I have to do something, but if I move they'll hurt him even more." Zaine thought really hard, and then remember. He called out towards Kor.
"Take me instead of Longtail. I'm worth more to you!"

Korr stopped dead in his tracks...he really wasn't expecting the kid to say that! He turned around and said "What are you talking about child?" Longtial looked over with a confused look on his face as well, not really knowing what was going to happen now.

Ok, I've got his attention. I just hope I don't screw it up. Zaine knew he was probably betraying the voice that talked to him earlier, but he had no choice.
"You call Longtail a freak because he did something strange or unreal. Well, he's not the only one! Before you showed up I heard a voice speaking to me. A voice not from this world, and apparently only a dinosaur who has last their parents can hear it!"

Korr's eyes widened and looked at Zaine with intrest...but Longtail's eyes narrowed as he heard what Zaine had said 'My mother...always one to spread the wisdom.' Longtial then looked up at Korr and said "May I speak to him?" Korr's resopnse was two fold as he shook his head and said "We take him with us, but the freak is still mine!" One of the other Red Horns walked over and ushered Zaine over to Korr and then he smiled as he said to the longneck...
"You are in for a treat!" As the three of them walked away.

Zaine looked over at Longtail. "I'm so sorry Longtail." He turned around and followed the red horn towards Kor. "Well, you have me. So now what will you do?"

Kor smiled as Zaine asked his question and he simply said "You will know soon enough little one!" He then turned to the rest of the group facing Cyrix, and Mim and said "If anyone tries to follow us, I will not hesitate to hurt these two children! Red horns, Let's go!"

"This doesn't look good. We have to do something. We can't let them just take them." Littlefoot said with concern in his voice and face.
"It is bad, yep, yep, yep." Ducky said nodding.
Mr Thicknose looks at Littlefoot and nods, "Yes, and we'll rely on ourselves instead of the rest of the great valley, who seems to prefer to argue then get anything done. I think I'll follow the example of you and your friends Littlefoot, and get things done instead of just arguing." Mr Thicknose said.
"The adults here running things is a mess compared to the yellowbellies. They may sing and dance most of the day but at least they get things done without arguing. Maybe I should go back there." Mim said upset at the whole incident.
"If you do be sure to tell me, I may want to go also. Listening to folks singing and seeing them dance would make a nice change of pace instead of hearing and seeing them argue and get nothing done." Mr Thicknose said shaking his head.

Zaine noticed the others sad expressions. "Great. Now what?" he said to himself.
Zaine then started to remember a lullaby his mother would sing to him every night, and he started singing part of it.

Korr stopped for a moment and then said to the rest of his herd..."Bring the others with us....when I start talking to our little friend here...I want a full audience." Several Red horns nodded and some started laughing knowing what the boss had planned! Three of the Red Horns started moving forward pointing there horns at the group and forcing them to walk forward.

Zaine noticed what Korr said. "Don't hurt them. Please I'm begging you!" Zaine only gave himself in to keep his friends safe. He didn't want them to get involved.

Ducky saw how sad the others were, "Do not be sad, Littlefoot will think of something he always does, yep, yep, yep." She said nodding. Littlefoot said nothing, happy of Ducky's faith in him but not sure he could think of something this time, and in the past the others had had good ideas as well.
"Yes," Mr Thicknose said, "I've noticed that about him." Mim remained silent for the moment.

Korr looked down to Zaine and said loud enough for everyone to hear..."Oh I'm not going to hurt them..I'm saving all the torture for the freak on the end of my nose...I just want you all to see my methods of 'persuasion'." He then began to laugh, as he thought about the pain he was going to bring to Longtail, and he only laughed harder.

Zaine didn't like the sound of 'persuasion'. He must be talking about me. But why does he hate Longtail so much? I could try and ask him, but he'll never tell me. Well, I have to try.
"Why do you hate Longtail so much?"

Littlefoot remained silent trying to think of something, the others remained silent having nothing to say. Petrie had started to return after telling some other flyers and grown ups. He landed in a tall tree and hid among the leaves looking when he saw some red horns and his friends admist them.

Korr then said "I guess there is no harm in telling you kid...well this freak on the end of my nose...he killed my mate and almost killed my son as well! That is why I have to make him suffer and feel the pain I feel every single day!" He then stopped walking and turned to the rest of his herd and the group. He scanned their faces and finally spoke up by saying:
"Bring the female rainbow face here...I want her to have a close and personal view of the 'fun' I'm about to have!" Korr then tossed Longtail to the ground and laughed as another Red Horn brought Mim forward.

Zaine was shocked at what he heard. Longtail killing others? That's not like him at all! This Korr guy thinks he feels pain because of his mate and son, but he doesn't know the true meaning of the word.
"You think you feel pain? You should consider yourself lucky. You only lost two people close to you. Try losing your entire herd and your parents. That's what I have to go through my entire life."

Mim looked at the red horn, "Yea, what do you want?" she asked in a not pleasant voice. The others remaining silent for now.
Petrie went off to try to find an adult who would listen and tell them of the new recent change of events, he hoped he could find someone.

Zaine looked over at Littlefoot. "Littlefoot, I'm so sorry about all of this. I didn't mean for you to get involved. Please forgive me."

Littlefoot shook his head, "Nothing to forgive, you didn't mean for this to happen." He said.

Korr looked over to Mim and said "You are about to see what my find of fun is like." He then proceeded to forcibly step on Longtail's wing. The first sound heard was a snap...then Longtails cries of sheer pain. This however only caused Korr to laugh harder and then using his horns to cut and scratch the flyer in several places, and finally and slowly brought his foot down upon the flyers head, and slowly pushed it into the ground, with Korr grinning the entire time.
After hearing Longtail's cry of pain Cyrix forced himself to close his eyes and cover his ears as he shed a tear for his nephew.

No. This can't be happening! He promised not hurt anyone! "Kor stop it! Don't kill him!" Zaine knew he had to think fast in order to save Longtail.
"If you expect me to cooperate with you, I'll only do it if you promise not to hurt my friends, including Longtail!"

Littlefoot got an idea, he whispered to Ducky, "Hold on tight." He said, waiting a moment. She didn't know what was up but tightened her grip on him pressing her head against his neck and closing her eyes, since she was sure she'd feel better not seeing whatever his plan was. Littlefoot then took a deep breath and started to scream while running around as if he was terrified and had cracked bumping into red horns that were of the smaller types and attempted to cause at least some chaos so hopefully some of the others could take the chance to escape or something.
Mr Thicknose had no idea what Littlefoot was up to or what his idea was, and it seemed a wild one he took only a moment to shrug mentally and lowered his head to ram some red horns and cause some general confusion so hopefully some of the others could get away or to add to the noise so perhaps someone else could hear.
Mim continued to walk along with the red horns, and when she was close to Longtail she got a look on her face as if she had no hope left and half squatted half kneeling down. She then used the position to use her leg muscles go give her an extra push as she jumped and landed rolling near where Longtail was and grabbed him. Once she was on her feet she started to run off as fast as she could holding Longtail near to her chest, going for any gaps or jumping over red horns, or onto a back to use as a sort of spring to jump a bit farther if possible. If he is light enough she would tuck him under her left arm and hold him secure to try to leave her one hand free.

Good work Littlefoot. Zaine then attempted to run with Littlefoot, but two of the red horns blocked his path. Damn. He's not going to let me go without a fight.
"Is that how you want to play? Fine then! Here I come!" Zaine rushed the two red horns, leaped up in the air, and whipped his tail at their heads. Making sure not to hit the horns, his tails snapped at their eyes, temporarily blinding them. Mim's got Longtail. That's good.
"Littlefoot! Let's go!"

Korr was shocked that this group was able to cause so much trouble! He stomped his feet and shouted "DO NOT LET THAT FEMALE RAINBOW FACE ESCAPE WITH MY PRIZE!" He then saw his subordinates fighting for the moment and decided to go after Mim himself! he caught up to her fairly quickly and blocked her path and said "Give me the flyer and the rest of you can go free I promise!"
But at that very moment Cyrix jumped from the shadows and said "You won't go near her, or my nephew...not so long as I'm here!" Korr laughed once more and said "Please you think you can stop me? You must be joking!"

"Littlefoot! You get the other out of here. I'm going to help Longtail. Go!" Zaine bolted in the direction Kor headed. I just hope I'm not too late. He finally managed to catch up with Kor and Mim.
"If he can't stop you, then I will help him Kor!"

"How about I take you on?" Said a voice. At that moment, a black and white dinosaur landed just behind Mim, Longtail, Zaine, and Cyrix. It was Ateo. He had went back into the Great Valley to find something to eat when he had spotted the group from a distance and followed from a safe distance. He was not able to move in closer due to the number of redhorns, but the diversion Littlefoot and the others created was enough to allow him to move in.
Standing at full height, he easily towered over Korr. He brandished his large thumb claws in a challenge. He glanced down at the female rainbow face, and shook his head at the sight of Longtail in her arms. Without hesitation, he said to Korr flatly, "How pathetic. How weak do you have to be to pick on a creature not even half your size?"

Right after Ateo's attempt to direct Korr's attention away from Longtail, Syrius launched himself towards the beastly redhorn and threw his tail as hard as he could at him,
CRACK!!!
Korr was caught off guard by the angry duckbill and was thrown a short distance from the powerful tail attack. A fire burned in Syrius's eyes, and a fury not known in his own kind.. He advanved further towards Kor before he could get back up
CRACK!!!
another hit. And this time Syrius instead of waiting for Korr's proper landing advanced in a sort of pounce, attacking Korr in midair, crashing to the ground with him in a terrible embrace

Ateo, taken completely offguard, backed up a couple steps. He watched the duckbill's fierce assault and whistled. "Whew..I hate to be on the wrong end of that..." He turned his head to look at Mim, Longtail, Cyrix, and Zaine. "What are you waiting for? Run!" He told them urgently.

Korr landed hard after the first tail whip, and he grimaced as he was caught off guard by a second one, and landed harder and heard something pop...it felt like a rib breaking. Korr was at a loss of what to do...so he did the only smart thing he could think of to save his life....he ordered a retreat!
"Okay...you win...just let me and my herd go, and you won't hear from us again! I swear!" Cyrix didn't look convinced at all and said "How do we know you will keep your word? You've lied before!" The look in Korr's eyes told Cyrix that this was the truth...he was going to leave the valley for good!

Syrius let off Kor and stood to his feet. He stared wordlessly, his eyes spelling a warning on the redhorn
"Trust his words?.... we've trusted them once before.. you lied to us, redhorn."

Littlefoot nodded saying, "Follow me." To whoever would follow behind him." He started to do his best to get to safety so he could let Ducky off and then go back himself, avoiding as many red horns as he could. He disliked leaving but also guessed that would let the larger folks focus on the red horns and not on also accidentally harming smaller folks like himself. Ducky continued to hang on tightly. "I wish they would go, yes I do." She said at one point.
Mr Thicknose want sortof along with Littlefoot, providing distraction and bumping, and charging any red horns to try to give Littlefoot, and any others who went with him as clear a path as he could.
Mim nodded and ran to one side of the large swimmer. Once past she did her best to avoid other red horns and instead of going for her max speed did her long distance travel run speed instead and headed to some likely spots where Cera's dad was. She may not like his personality much but he at least did have some morals and Longtail should be safe near where he was.
Petrie heard all the noise coming from behind him and decided to circle back to see what all the noise and commotion was that was going on.

"I think this time he speaks the truth. He's felt enough pain." While the others immediately left, Zaine knelt down beside Kor.
"Look, I understand how you feel about your son and mate, and I'm sorry you had to lose them, but taking it out on Longtail wasn't going to help. If you killed him, you would only feel guilt for the rest of your life." He stood back up and ran to join Littlefoot and the others.

Ateo narrowed his eyes at the scene before him. It seemed like the redhorn was giving up. 'Well..so would I if that were me...' Ateo thought to himself. He stood his ground and waited for Korr to make the next move. He'd never met Korr previously and isn't sure whether to trust Korr's words or not.

Korr blinked at Zaine's words and sighed..."Perhaps you are right young one...but I will tell you this...the next time I see that freak again, with or without your help...I will see him dead at my feet." With that said Korr slowly and carefully rose onto his feet and looked over at Syruis and Ateo nodded and limped off into the surrounding trees with the rest of his herd in tow. 'I'll be seeing you again little green longneck.' Korr said to himself.

Zaine watched Kor limp away. We'll meet again Kor, and next time I'll be ready. Zaie then caught up wuth Littlefoot and the others. "How's Longtail?" he asked.

Littlefoot shrugged, "I hope he's ok, I saw Mim grab him and take off that way." He said using his head to point and look in the direction he saw Mim take off, which was a brief sight.
"Is it all over.?" Ducky asked opening her yes, "I hope it is, I do." She said.
"It looks like it's over, for now at least." Littlefoot said looking at her then at Korr.
Mr Thicknose nodded, "I hope it is. Hopefully the red horn will learn some wisdom from this, though that does seem unlikely." He said.
Mim continued running for quite a distance till she was sure she wasn't being followed then slowed down, "How are you feeling?" She asked Longtail once she had slowed down, not looking at him so she could keep watch on the ground.
Petrie had come partly back and saw Mim runnng off with Longtail and decided to follow, in case he could be of some help and be a look out for any danger on the ground.

"Something tells me we haven't seen the last of him, but for now let's enjoy what peace we have." Zaine then looked at Littlefoot.
"I know you feel that I don't need to apologize, but I can't help it. I'm so sorry that you guys got involved in this mess."

Ateo watched the herd of redhorns begin to walk away, and sighed. 'At least it's over.' He thought. He then realized he hadn't made sure Longtail wasn't seriously hurt. Looking to where he saw Mim take off, and started to head in that direction.

Longtail for his part was struggling hard not to scream, instead opting to just let the tears fall from his eyes, as the pain was undiscribable. When he tried to speak he muttered "I-I...c..can't...fly." In truth his whole body hurt in places he didn't know he had, and his shaking wasn't really helping either. He then took a hoarse and jagged breath, closed his eyes, and forced himself into sleep hoping it would help dull the pain.
Cyrix however was frantic as he had lost sight of Mim who he knew had Longtail and he was searching for the both of them, when he spotted Ateo walking off and hoping he had some idea where Mim was decided to follow him.

Ateo continued to walk forward, quickening his pace a little. He then reared up on his hind legs to get a better view, and eventually spotted two shapes, and recognized them as Longtail and Mim. He called out "Hey! Rainbowface! The one holding that flyer with the super long tail! Is he all right?"

Mim slowed once she came near where there was a flat area with some flowing water nearby and some shrubs with the sky obscured over head to provide plenty of light. She made sure no red horns were where she could see and stopped there trying to gently put Longtail on the ground on his back so she could then try to examine him to see what sorts of injuries he had. She got some water in one of her hands and started to try to clean him off if it looked like he needed it so she could more easily examine him.
At the sound of the voice she turned around and shook her head a bit, "I think he's been injured but I'm not sure, I've just started to examine him. I'm sure the run didn't help any but that was sadly unavoidable. Though he's unconscious at the moment." She said looking at the longneck as she spoke before she want back to examining Longtail to assess his injures and what treatment would be needed.

Ateo nodded, continuing the trek over. He stopped briefly, sensing someone was following him. He turned his light blue eyes to look behind him, and spotted another rainbowface.
"Hello. Who are you?" He asked.

Syrius sighed and soon left the scene
"I am getting too old for all this fighting. And boy, my tail sure itches from those hits."
"Uncle Syrius!" came a young voice, Syrius turned to see Brice and Ellie running towards him
"You were awesome back there!" Called Bryce "When I grow up, I want to be just like that!"
"I said that once myself." sighed Syrius "You'd probably best avoid such dangers as I have encountered growing up."
He turned and continued his treck leaving the two younger duckbills to ponder his words
Uncle Ellith... why did I have to be like you? thought Syrius with a sigh and he hung his head as he made his way to his resting area

Cyrix stopped a few feet from Ateo and said "My name is Cyrix...I'm Longtail's uncle, but I need to know if he's okay...did you see a female rainbow face come this way...please I need your help!"
The fresh water however stung Longtail's wounds and even in his pain induced sleep he cringed and blinked once and quietly said "please help....uncle Cyrix..." before falling back into unconsiouness.

"Yes." Ateo nodded, gesturing towards the direction he saw Mim. "They're over there. The female rainbowface said she thinks the flyer is injured and she is going to examine him. She also said he's unconscious."

Upon hearing what Ateo said Cyrix said "Thank you!" And ran ahead moving as fast as he feet would take him, and in moments he was skidding to a stop right next to Mim and he looked down and frowned. His nephew was indeed hurt, and he sat down next to Mim and said "Please let me help...any way I can. And thank you...for saving his life."

Not sure if he could hear her or not Mim still said, "Your uncle is safe and sound. As for Korr last I saw he was doing well, and Syrius was hitting him around like Littlefoot and Cera do tree seeds." She said, as she finished cleaning his wounds to get a better look at them. She then paused to see if there would be further response before she went to get some leaves and other things needed to start treating his wounds as well as 2 flat looking rocks and a piece of vine.
"You keep him company, I have an idea for an altered form of the usual form of treating wounds." Mim said.
Longtail being a flier gave Mim an idea for a different method of treatment. Must of his body had to often flex and move as he moved around so regular treatment with leaves and vines may not work. She came back with the 2 flat looking rocks and put them down near Longtail then went off for the leaves and bit of vine. Once those were gotten she want back to where Longtail was.
She set his wing then checked to make sure she had done it properly. She then rinsed the 2 rocks in the nearby water. Then she set the more flat looking one down and holding bit of vine in one hand started to crush it a bit between the 2 rocks holding the other one in her other hand. She stopped when she saw she had a soft looking end.
Then she stuck one end in her mouth for a bit. She took a few tree stars and some leaves good for treating wounds and crushed them between the two rocks, getting a type of paste. This she started to add to Longtail's wounds using the soft vine end. She recrushed new leaves when she started to get low and needed some more. She kept working till she was pretty sure all of his wounds had been covered.

Zaine walked up towards Mim who was busy treating Longtail. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting. I had to see how he was doing. I wanted to talk to him before all this, and I never got the chance."

As Mim treated his wounds Longtail slowly opened both of his eyes and took another deep breath to make sure he was still alive. Then he looked over and saw his aunt Mim and his uncle Cyrix waiting for him to awaken....then he noticed something else as well...his body felt warm...it was then he noticed he was covered in some sort of goo...he was too weak to raise any questions. He then looked to his left and saw his new friend Zaine was there as well. He managed a weak smile and said "A-are...you....okay?"

Ateo had advanced forward a bit, but paused, keeping his distance from where he could see Longtail with the rainbowfaces. He slowly narrowed his eyes, trying to assess the situation. It didn't seem like they needed his help. Nevertheless he decided to stick around for a bit. He decided to eat, and began to snag leaves from the tree he was standing next to.

Mim smiled to Longtail when she saw he was awake. "Are you hungry or thirsty?" She asked him. "I hope you are feeling better. You just rest."

Zaine smiled. "I'm fine. I just wish I could say the same for you. Listen, I'm so sorry about all of this. I didn't intend on Kor tortuing you like that when I gave myself in."

Longtail still too physically tired to sleep nodded to his uncle and he explained "Well you see Zaine, Korr would have harmed Longtail with or without us being there...he just got lucky we were all together!" He clenched his fist in anger at the sight of his nephew in such a crippling condition. He then took a deep breath and sighed as he looked over to Mim and said
"Good idea using the treestar goo instead of vines to help him...I do wonder though how long it will take for him to get better."

"Thanks. I thought of the mix of treestar and some other leaves and make goo from them since so much of a flier's body moves and flexes as the move around. Though as I think about it I maybe can use the technique with some injuries on 2 and 4 footers also." Mim said.
Littlefoot, Ducky and Mr. Threehorn came up slowly to where they were, slower since they were doing their best to make sure the others were not followed by the red horns and that they were not either.

"The children of Maganog..." Blackclaw repeated as pondered the meaning "I dont believe a word of it"
"Believe me, son" said Kragoth's disembodied voice "I came to warn you that they are very much out for the hunt these days. They will kill anything that's in their path, including their own kind. Including you if you ever became so unfortunate."
"I'll keep this warning in mind"said Blackclaw, rolling his eyes "But I'm still to go about my plans"
"Very well then, Blackclaw. You may go seek your foolish revenge. I cannot stop you, nor will I ty to. I've held a stern claw over your life too long as it is... it is time for you to learn yourself the fatal conclusion of your own foolish deeds."
"Hmph!" snorted Blackclaw "I'll get what I want, you'll see."
"Then I will leave you with these words... Good luck, and see you on the other side of life when you fail miserably!"
At these words, the eyes in the Sharptooth skull faded and a strange otherworldly mist exited the skull
"Whatever, dad." mumbled Blackclaw and he turned to walk away from the skull
"The master has spoken" stuttered Torgo
"Shutup, Togo" said Blackclaw as he proceeded to leave the area
his next stop was to find his pack and rally them up for an invasion of the valley.

"Well, I'm just glad it's working," Zaine added. "At the first sign of him recovering, could you please le me know? I need to talk to him about something important."

Mim nodded, "Though I assume if he's well enough to speak to you is likely up to Longtail and his uncle Cyrix here." Mim said indicating Cyrix in case Zaine didn't know who Longtail's uncle was.

Zaine looked at Cyrix. "You're Longtail's uncleis it alright with you if I speak to him?"

Cyrix looked at Zaine and nodded his head as he replied "Yes...it is...just as soon as he is well enough to speak." Cyrix looked over at Longtail who still had his eyes open, but was shaking. Cyrix's face took on one of worry for his nephew and only then did he realize what Longtail was doing...
"H-He's trying to stand up?!" cried Cyrix and indeed the little flyer was trying his hardest to stand on his two feet, and although in a large amount of pain which was shown on his face...he still managed to stand straight up and look at his uncle in the eyes...then collapsed again, breathing heavily. "Z-Zaine..." chocked Longtail.

Mim looked at him in concern, "He needs to rest, but looks like he wants to speak to you Zaine. Maybe he should do so. From either a laying down position, or we could try propping him up into a sitting position, against at tree or something so he can more easily see, talk and rest." Mim said.
Littlefoot nodded, "That may be best, if he's able to do that." He said.
Ducky nodded, "Do not worry Longtail you will be well soon, yes you will." Ducky said in as soothing a voice as she could. She would have patted Longtail, but was unsure where to touch him that would not hurt him so thought it maybe best not to.

Ateo watched the scene, and felt that he was no longer needed. The situation was under control and he didn't think he could help any further. Without saying a word, he went down on all fours and began to walk away, to return to his cave to rest.

Zaine nodded. "Let's try leaning him up against something. It may be easier for him to talk that way." Hold on Longtail. We'll get through this.

Mim nods "If he feels up to it" She said while looking for a good place. "Perhaps there. I"ll get some soft stuff. Even if he doesn't feel up to being leaned against something to set up, it should be more comfortable for him to lay on something soft." She said then set off in search for some soft stuff of various types to help cushion his injured body whether he chose to remain laying down or trying to be leaned up against something in a sitting position.

Cyrix nodded in agreement and said "Well we won't know unless Longtail answers us." And as that sentence left his mouth Longtail indeed nodded his head and cleared his throat and replied "Y-yes...please?"
Cyrix smiled and said "Of course my nephew...just as soon as your aunt Mim comes back."

Mim returned with some leaves and other soft things that she could find not to far. She paused as she returned and finding a good spot to prop Longtail against she put the things there, trying to arrange them the best she could. Ducky got off of Littlefoot to go over to help and Littlefoot waited to see if he could help but guessed to many would just mess things up.
Petrie landed on a nearby branch, finding the group, just resting and waiting to see what was up.

Zaine stood by, patiently waiting for an oppurtunity to help out. He wanted to do anything e could to save Longtail. "Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked Mim.

Mim stopped a moment to think. Then she turned to Zaine. "You could get a few more soft things, help us to shape this here, and help us to move Longtail once it's ready since to move him easily will take more then just one since it's best if as little of his body moves separate then any other." She said after thinking of some options, letting Zaine, and any others, choose how they could help with giving them several choices instead of just one.

Meanwhile Denton was standing alone on a large rock that looked over the valley. He could nearly see over the wall, and beyond into the distant horizon
There he saw large rolling thunderclouds and the silent boom of thunder could be felt as well as heard.
A soft cool breeze gently blew across Denton as he stood there admiring the valley
'Its so big...' he thought to himself
But just then, he heard something in the far distance. A distant roar, eirie and almost haunting it was and it sent chills down Denton's back.
What was it? Could it had been the sound of possible things to come?
A storm was coming... that's what was most certain.
