Just as I thought. They're going to use the next sequel as a means of getting the series off the ground, no doubts about it. It'll probably actually have something we'll see in the series if that IS the case.

They bring out this time items for sale for both this time through out the year not only with the release when you go to a Universal studios when these two come out your going to see things for sale. A change in what things are sold, they hoping that having the toys brought out it will bring up the sales and keep it going beyond 13.

Maybe the LBT guys are pulling off a Star Wars and the toys are selling more than the movies. LOL! I remember my brother telling me that about how Star Wars action figures sold more than the game.

I'm surprised to hear that you know the voice of Ducky, Threehorn. That's really cool to know.

Funnily enough, merchandising never was a major fact of LBT as the head of production Dan Wiley told us. Even when LBT was a major cinematic event back in the end of the 80s there wasn't a huge range of toys, t-shirts, lunchboxes and all that kinda stuff that other lesser animated features have produced. I mean, look at SpongeBob Squarepants! I've never seen so much diverse merchandise for a single cartoon ever! Apparently, Mr Wiley said that there should be a much big emphasis on additional buys to do with LBT with the release of LBT 12, 13 and the series. Which will be nice to see! :)

Nevertheless there is quite a large variety of land before time products. One just needs to enter it at ebay to find everything from pillow cases, over hand puppets, to lamps, snowballs, jigsaw puzzles, board games... the list goes on. While some of the products were given out by companies (fast food restaurants, breakfast cereals etc.) There are also quite a few seemingly independent products with the LBT seal. I don't expect the movie makers are involved in creating these products or else Petrie wouldn't look like some overaged bat on most of this stuff.

I have the book that is included in the box. Nice pictures, but no real story. Just a litany of sentences such as "Someday I'll reach the highest branch. But for now, Grandpa gets my tree stars. Someday I'll cross the Great River in a few steps. But for now, Grandpa carries me to the other side." etc.

I am keeping it inclosed since the tape used to seal it still on there and the toy still tied up making it a very rare to come across collectors item specially for me which made me happy :)

GOD! I couldn't deal with the presure, I've got a lot of Power Ranger toys that I know they'd worth a lot more if they were on their original boxes unopened, but I still opened them and played with them (ok, I was a little kid) but even now I'd still open them up and put on each sticker. Who cares about their value? They value to me and that's what's important =p

Here's something interesting.  I just found a synopsis of Flyers.  Do you guys want it?

It is from one of the many australian websites that has a pre-order for a December 6th release date.

Actually, all I have found is the description from the "back" of the box.  When I tried to find the link, my searches were fruitless.  Anyway, here's what I have (Contains possible Spoilers)

Petrie is having a difficult time preparing for “the day of the flyers”, an important day for all of the flying residents of the Great Valley, when all of the young flyers must participate in a very precise flying exhibition to prove that they are ready to fly with the adults. Always a nervous flyer, Petrie has even more trouble flying with his sibling in precise group formationsóhe’s more of an independent, free-style kind of guy.
At the same time, a strange newcomer to the Great Valley has Littlefoot and his friends trying to help figure out just exactly what he is. Named Guido, he’s the strangest looking creature any of the Great Valley creatures has ever seen, especially since he’s covered with multicolored “fuzzies” (feathers!), and has never seen another like himself. Cera is having her own troubles, as her grumpy Dad and his new mate, Tria, get ready to welcome a hatchling to the family.
All of these issues come together on the night before “the Day of the Flyers”, when Guido starts to figure out what he is, inadvertently leading all of the gang on a perilous adventure into the Mysterious Beyond.

Hopefully I can find the link again soon.

Hmm... finally some scientific update. If guido is a feathered dinosaur and not a bird that is =x

I didn't like the plot though, it looks like one of those dead end stories that lead to nowhere, oh well.

Le petite dinosaure? The french call the land before time the little dinosaur?! Geez these guys have this huge lack of imagination =p

Dead end plot? The possibilities are actually quite large. They're trying to handle three plot threads in one movie. I can see many things happening (and maybe, just maybe, there will be some actual drama, unlike the last movie.)

The story is quite similiar to Keni's A Sharptooth's Heart, and that certainly is no "dead end plot". What is similiar between the new movie and Keni's fanfic is one of the characters: Guido from Day of the Flyers and Rex from A Sharptooth's Heart. Here's what's similar between the new movie and ASH:

-Guido and Rex have never seen another like themselves before
-The Great Valley members have never seen a creature like them before
-Guido and Rex seem to long to find out what they are and find others like them
-Guido and Rex inadvertantly lead Littlefoot and the gang into a perilous adventure in the mysterious beyond while trying to find out their identity

So I can see potential in this new movie. Not only in this aspect, but also this is a chance to give Petrie the limelight for a while. I've never seen Petrie as the main focal point of an LBT movie, so this may be his chance to shine, if you know what I mean.

I think he shined in lbt 7. But I'd like to see Petrie as more of a main character and not the goofy friend who's there for the jokes, although they are pretty funny =p
I don't think this plot has anywhere to go, I hope I'm wrong. But everything seems a bit predictable and anything but original. Oh well, I guess I was (and in a way am) hoping for something more like the original movie, one can only dream.
