As the topic states above, I'm working on a new literature project (or so, currently planning) and in the process, I intend to embed a Tolkien fantasy style formula.

The story takes place long before the birth of our beloved five duo. Long before the splitting of the continents . So most of you might feel a bit alienated by the project as in whole.

It still takes place during the time of the dinosaurs, rest assured but it will have some dark foreboding elements and it may get a tad bit graphic (PG13 if that helps any concerns)

To sum it up, this is the LBT version of Lord of the Rings. I hope your excited =)

I'll begin work later today and possibly have something ready by tonight or morning, according to what time I begin).

Cheerio!

PS. Until then, I'm more than willing to answer questions

Sounds like it could be interesting.  Sounds if it's like LOTR it'll be very long.

Well, I'm grateful that somebody was slightly interested in the idea.

I didn't know if I should wait to see how strong the interest would be before beginning work, or if I should start regardless.

I kind of waited 9_9

but I did kind of brainstorm the elements of the story over the entire lapse of time. Got some interesting ideas bouncing around.

I did enjoy LOTR so logic would dictate that this would be very interesting to see. I look forward to seeing the first chapter!

I am rather sceptic about the concept of crossing overs in general.
I love LBT and I love the lord of the rings (in fact I too have a lord of the rings project in progress for the university. I'll have to talk about half an hour about the literary sources J.R.R. Tolkien used for the lord of the rings). However, I don't really believe in the formula 1st great story + 2nd gread story = 3rd great story or 1st great story + 2nd gread story = even greater story. Some stories are great but just don't mix with each other. There have been many land before time crossing overs (Star Wars is another popular franchise to be mixed with LBT in fanfictions) but even so much more similar stories as "Disney's Dinosaur" (which was arguably inspired by LBT) don't seem to mix with LBT in a way that would make the result coherent with LBT. I don't mean to talk you out of your idea, but judging from previous crossing overs I have read I am not sure I would like the project. I'm just talking for myself though as most people like crossing overs at the expense of coherence. No offense meant.

I don't think it's a the Lord of the Rings crossover (I didn't see anything in AvestheForumFox's to suggest that). I just think it will incorporate elements from that franchise, not actually crossover. ;)

Oh totally not crossover. that would look WAY too silly.

I've long left my crossover desires at the age of 13. that was 11 years ago.

I need to say this now about the story, it is NOT Lord of the Rings, it just borrows concepts or elements to give it that deep fantasy feel... I'm not sure how to explain it...

I guess instead of being an crossover it is in the same sort of genre, or sub genre as LOTR is.

And there was a Star Wars crossover?

[imagines a scene of Little Foot battling Boba Fett, and then Princess Leia singing along with cartoon dinosoars via Holiday Special style....]

[screams like a little girl and runs away]

i think this is a pretty good idea, the LBT universe with LOTR style fantasy elements, it seems like it could work well
