LBT Projects / Re: Eatable fanart
« on: December 09, 2020, 02:23:05 PM »
These look delicious! I like the idea of edible fanart haha, maybe I should look into that as well :D
Thank you! It would be great to see someone else doing eatable art too!  :DD
I've done such projects already a few years ago.
For example I baked a cake for my best friend who was a big unicorn fan at that time.
Since the end of October I'm thinking about doing something like this again, but this time land before time themed. A have to make a concept of what it will look like and what it will be made of first and I most likely won't have enough time to get this project started until the end of December, but I hope that I will be able to realize this project one day.

So cute! Good job with these sweets! ^^
Thank you!

These are so cute!! I'd practically feel bad about eating them. :lol The details on the tree star are especially great (you even remembered the water resting in the middle of it)! And all the dinosaurs are adorable!
Thank you so much! :-)

Cool! I'd be down to eat some dino shaped cookies!  :ChomperYummy
Thanks! :)

Enough cookies for everyone! :Dducky
Unfortunately the cookies are gone now. :cry  Littlefoot told me that some tinysaurus came and ate all the cookies. I'm so sorry about what happened. I thought...
Wait a second!
Littlefoot, what are you doing here?! :olittlefoot

Finally, we, sharpteeth, can honestly say "we finally ate Gang!!!"!  :taunttroll
No. We, the Gang can say: "We ate the sharpteeth! "
Do you mean you ate all my sharptheeth?
We did and we feel sorry for it. But your cookies are so yummy. They are! They are!
Al right, but what happened to the rest of the Gang? Where are Spike and Petrie?
... :oops
Oh no!
Apparently my cookies have started to eat each other.

Have you ever done eatable fan art, like baking biscuits in the shape of a dinosaur or decorating a cake with your favourite land before time characters made of marzipan or fondant?

I did something like this a few days ago while I was baking biscuits.
Here's a biscuit that looks like tall stepper the longneck that was able to run faster as the wind:

And here's a spinosaurus:

I tried to make this one look like Ducky:

The Fridge / Re: Coffee or Tea?
« on: December 05, 2020, 03:50:34 PM »
I really like both of them especially during the winter tough I had a really bad experience with peppermint tea years ago. It was when I was visiting my grandparents. My grandma asked me to make some tea for us, while she was setting the table in her dining room. She always makes tea with self dried peppermint leaves and I thought I could do the same easily. How wrong I was! So I put the leafs in a tea cup with water in it, but I didn't notice that the water wasn't hot enough. (I'm still thinking that it would had been hot enough if I would have used a tea bag instead of leafs.) So it didn't work so well. In the end I only drank hot water with some leafs in it instead of tea.
I hope Spike will be luckier with making his Great Valley tea then I was back then!

And I  have to add that I really wouldn't mind to try some Great  Valley coffee if it is as good as the dinosaurs of the great valley think it is!

It's become a battle between Great Valley Coffee and Great Valley Tea!
Do you think that we will need the permission of a certain fanfic writer before we can call it "the battle before time"?

Or maybe he thinks: With all this peppermint leafs we will be able to make enough Great Valley peppermint tea to stop the Great Valley coffee from taking over the whole LBT universe!

^ I didn't say that I don't like it. I only said that I don't like it as much as I like Great Valley tea!

Character Showcase / Re: Hyp, Nod, and Mutt Showcase - November 2020
« on: November 07, 2020, 10:55:41 AM »
They had been my least favourite characters for years, but I've changed my opinion of certain characters a lot when I became older. First of all the third film turned out as a whole different movie, when I first understood the intentions of Hyp. Despite hating "when you're big" as a child, I started to like it, when I realized that this song represents their idea of adulthood of adults in general. They imagine adults as controlling and being angry and mean and shouting and being able to do anything they want, because this is what their or at least Hyp's parents did. Nod and Mutt are not really complex characters. I counted every time when they said something when I watched the film the last time. I was only able to watched until the "kids like us" song, but after a rough calculation I found out, that nearly 30% of what Nod and Mutt said was just agreeing with Hyp or repeating what Hyp had said. Is this good or bad? I don't know. It somehow shows us, that people sometimes loose a large part of their personality when their trying to be like the others to fit in the group.

Thanks! :littlefoot:)
It's quite a little bit strange to be for the first time since years ago home alone and not with my friends. :( I've got nothing to do and the door bell ringed only one time this evening, but at least here are some nice people I can talk to. So maybe this evening won't be as boring and lonely as I think it will be. :)

We could have continued to use the showcase from last month, just like the scene, where the sharptooth bites the ground instead of our main characters is used over and over again in this franchise. :idea
Somehow the filmstudios are better in recycling, than we are.

I always thought this scene was super cute!  :chompysmile

In my opinion your redraw looks even cuter! :chomper
It's great how you draw this well known picture with the same gestures and facial expressions of the characters like in the film, while you are using your own drawing techniques to create a special lighting situation! That's, what makes this picture so beautiful and unique.

Announcements / Re: Updated forum theme
« on: October 22, 2020, 11:58:35 AM »
After about two weeks since the forum theme has changed I finally noticed, that I should have done this post weeks ago I have to point out, how well everything works! I had my  apprehensions at first, but I decided to try to use the new theme a few days and was finally impressed about how fine it works, after I found out, how it works. The new theme is as good as the old theme and even better in some aspects. The text is more readable and the pictures have got the perfect size for my mobile now. It couldn't have gone better! So thanks to @Mumbling and @Stardisk and everyone else, who put so much effort in this theme to improve this website!

The temperatures in your country can be truly extreme. -6°C! I hope you are in a warm place! Unfortunately you have to keep in many public buildings the windows open, because Corona, so it is really uncomfortable there now. At least the face mask keeps you warm. :DD
Everything has also his good sites!
Have a great winter!!!

Looks beautiful!
Where I live I have never seen snow at this time. Snow doesn't fall here before the late November, when it does fall at all. So you are lucky, if you like snow.  I would like to know how cold it is there now and what temperature do you have. We're having 9°C at the moment.

1988 Theatrical Release / Re: More Original Cels From The First Movie
« on: October 18, 2020, 10:49:31 AM »
Yo, I don't remember that scene where Petrie and Cera are glaring daggers at each other  :olittlefoot Is that a cut one?

It might be from the scene where they fight after Cera insults Littlefoot's mom, but I'm not sure.

The cel could also be from the scene, where Cera finds the "dead" body of the sharptooth and starts to attack it, because she wants to prove her bravery to herself.

And thanks to Hypno for uploading these links here!  :Mo I am looking forward to see, what will happen in the next two days at the auction.

General Land Before Time / Re: LBT 9
« on: October 03, 2020, 01:08:43 PM »
I watched this film a couple of days ago. It was great to watch it again!
I don't have much to say about the story. There are some different storylines at the same time during the main story, like how Littlefoot learns, that you are "only as alone as alone as you choose to be" or the conflict beetween Mo and Cera, but both of them, Littlefoot's loneliness and Cera's jealousy end as quick as they began. The movie starts, after the great opening narration in the beginning, with a lot of talking and singing. I somehow even enjoyed this part part of the film, but I was shocked when I realized, that I had watched already nearly 1\3 of the film and only a few things had happened, after the "imagienary friend" song. Most of the parts of the film are uneventful, but the swimming sharptooth really subrised me in a good way. I'm not a fan of his design, but he is kind of dangerous and the scenes where he appears-espacially the last scene-are pretty good in my opinion, even when they are short.
The animation is okay. Only the colours are a little bit too bright sometimes in my opinion.
I also love the music in this film, not the songs, they are all good, but not as great as the music, that played in the background. When the six friends came to the big water, I heard the best scores of the whole "Land Before Time"-series play in the background. There was James Horner's "Discovery Of The Great Valley", the music from the end of the fift movie and Micheal Tavera's "The Valley". About the songs: I didn't pay much attention to "No One Has To Be Alone" until I came across this website. Maybe I nearly forgot this song, because of its only very small link to the main story. It's also hard for me to figure out, what made Littlefoot starting to sing this song.Mo shows him the star swimmers, he looks up to the stars and starts to sing. What made him suddently realize, that he isn't alone? Littlefoots lines in "Always There" from the fifth movie could answer this question. Or he just realized, that when it's dark at night, all those tiny lights in the sky are actually other...  That would be telling, wouldn't it?

The last time the gang had an encounter with the Big Water, they had a really bad impression of it. Here, the scene of Littlefoot seeing everything that lived in the Big Water resolved that unexpected story arc. Of course, he almost drowned in it, proving the Big Water was still a dangerous place, but still, I liked the lesson here, which is that one should never judge a book by its cover. Or, in this case, first impression.
Yeah, you're right. Somehow the big water in the fifth movie and the big water in the ninth movie look like different places. I fifth movie only Elsie gives us a hint on, that there are also nice creatures who live in the big water, in the end of the ninth movie we see a lot of them. The sea in the fifth movie is deep and sometimes a bit rough, while in the ninth movie it has clear water and a smooth water surface.

Finally I discovered, that Mo is voiced Rob Paulsen(!) This is hard to believe. Mo and Guido are voiced by the same person? Wow!

I wish I could have done this post a few days earlier, but I had some problems with the keyboard of my computer. That's why I had to write this text without autocorrecture and I had to change the language setting on my computer from english to my native language and back very often.
