1988 Theatrical Release / Sharptooth the Sociopathic Serial Killer
« on: October 10, 2021, 09:38:34 AM »
I think this one is kind of self-explanatory given the novelization of the film actually chose to portray Sharptooh's morality as being more pinned to a given interpretation than how vague it was in the actual film, albeit this interpretation here could very easily apply to the film as well because of how little it actually changes the overall events of the plot as we already know it unfolds.

Sharptooth, in the novel, is described as being a Serial Killer who preyed on the Flatteeth not just because of hunger, but actively killed Flatteeth out of a mad blood lust he has which makes him a serial killer compared to other Sharpteeth who simply tried to survive. Sharptooth was hunting for new victims, and when encountering Littlefoot and Cera, had every intention of killing those two because Littlefoot had wound up wounding his pride by having a sharp thorn pierce his eye and leave him half blind afterwards, and his pride further being wounded by Cera when she headbutts him while he's unconscious. Then of course the fact Sharptooth killed Littlefoot's Mother while being fully aware of the fact he was doing so less out of a need for food and more so to kill for the sake of it. He had apparently discovered the entrance to the Great Valley as well, and had every intention of heading there to go on a killing spree, but his own pride got the better of him, leaving him with a score to settle with five children who offered no real sustenance for him, and he targeted them specifically because of Littlefoot and Cera's presence in the group, reminded of the fact that the two of them damaged his pride and left him irrationally hateful towards both of them by the end. Even when nearing death, he attempts to take Petrie with him at the last second solely out of a spiteful attempt to have the last laugh in the end.

Definitely makes you think about Sharptooth in a different light when you consider he's flat out the most menacing incarnation of a carnivorous dinosaur in virtually all of The Land Before Time's franchise wide history of many other Sharpteeth after him typically not showcasing the same behavior he had which made him stick out more.

Specifically the Glow in the Dark Digital Monster Ver. 20th. It contains all five of the main Digital Monster line DigiEggs which can hatch into the respective Digimon associated with said Digivice version, and some of which can now achieve Mega Level with some in particular being able to DigiFuse into an even stronger Digimon. This Digivice was also the debut appearance of BlitzGreymon, CresGarurumon, and Omegamon Alter-S in the whole franchise, with me having aimed to acquire both Digimon to DigiFuse into the latter as I was beginning to learn the ropes with how to best acquire the individual forms of whatever Digimon I needed to go into the Digivolution paths for BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon specifically.

It was quite an acid trip with CresGarurumon, as the easiest route I wound up going for was Elecmon and Whamon as the Rookie and Champion respectively, with the only choice in Ultimate being MetalMamemon. Even if you had went with the harder to accomplish Gabumon and Garurumon, you'd still go into MetalMamemon in-order to get to CresGarurumon. I had an easier time with BlitzGreymon, meanwhile, as the requirements of Greymon were stupidly easy for me to meet which meant I pretty much just had to do battles for both Digimon to have them achieve Ultimate Level before they would later hit Mega Level. Thankfully the Ver. 20th rectifies at least two issues with the older models it's based upon. First is that the save file on the Digivice is not tied to the battery, meaning you can have the same save file kept intact spanning multiple battery replacements. Second is the fact there is an option to battle opponents in a single player session, as I don't believe the original Digital Monster Digivices had such an option.

Also I find it absolutely ironic with the Digivice I got regarding its exclusive Digimon which I will more than likely never get a hold of because of how you unlock it. Each Digivice in the Digital Monster Ver. 20th line has an exclusive DigiEgg you can unlock by communicating with at least 5 other unique Digivices, and it depends heavily on the color of the Digivice which Digimon you get from this. The Digimon I get with my Glow in the Dark model is ironically a Digimon I rather heavily detest; Meicoomon, which had first appeared in Digimon Adventure Tri.

The Welcome Center / The Mightiest Fan of all returns!
« on: October 10, 2021, 09:01:01 AM »
Hello everyone, this is MF217. Certainly has been a long time since I was last active wasn't it? A year, maybe two years, at this rate, was it not? I can't recall exactly which case is more accurate, might've even almost been three years if I'm not mistaken.

I know one thing is for certain, though. I had a bit of an emotional and mental breakdown during the final days of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 onward to this day. My grandfather had passed just after Christmas of 2018, and two of my most beloved dogs had passed since then as well as the surprisingly sudden passing of an uncle I was very close to occurring earlier this same year in 2021. The pandemic afflicting the whole globe and pretty much destroying the status quo of society for a good while last year also did nothing to help my overall sanity issues at the time, as while I do enjoy typically keeping to myself in my bedroom on my PC, I never felt so restrained with how the pandemic more or less forced me to be like this a majority of last year. I developed a sort of cabin fever type of madness that lasted for a while, which was one of several instances I had initiated a mass exodus of various servers I used to be a part of. I unfortunately cannot recall exactly when it was when I had bailed from the Discord server for this place, but I am at least glad my overall wellbeing has improved to the point I can say I'll be sticking around here a while so long as y'all don't mind.

I am looking forward to reconnecting with all of you here, and I hope to speak with y'all sometime soon. Thanks in advance, MF217.

LBT Fanart / MightyFan217's Fanart Thread
« on: April 19, 2016, 12:13:57 AM »
For a future posting of a fanfiction I'm working on for The Land Before Time. Basic synopsis; the original movie and the sequels are being retold in my own image based around how the tone of the original film was with the darker aspects and themes, all the while adding my own flare to the plots based around both the original film and the sequels. In addition, because of the sequels having been around for a while now (sans Journey of the Brave which was over a month ago), there will be additional foreshadowing and plot points that begin all the way in the first film's adaptation arc. There are, of course, a few simple ground rules, some of which I'll post below that relate to the redesigns I'll post in this topic alone. The complete list of "ground rules" will be in the fanfic's topic when I ultimately post that.

*Some characters are very easily liable to change in species, be it simply subspecies, genus, or flat out type of animal altogether.
*Not part of the normal ground rules, but this fanart thread may or may not include OCs relating to the story whether or not I feel like posting them.
*None of the characters are intended as being scientifically accurate in appearance, movements, or anything else relevant to such by default.

Alright, those out of the way, let us begin with the star; Littlefoot!

Name: Littlefoot
Gender: Male
Species: Brontosaurus excelsus
Notes: Genus was changed to Brontosaurus as a reference to Bron's name, and also to celebrate Brontosaurus once again being a valid genus. Also given some spots since both he, Bron, and Mama Longneck are given different coloration from their canon selves; all of the Dinosaurs are more colorful and have distinct patterns on their designs. For contrast, Littlefoot's eyes and belly color are from his mother, and his overall body color is from Bron. Also worth noting is that Bron is given a mention in the Movie 1 Arc of the fanfic, as the story goes out of its way to reference future sequels in regards to foreshadowing and such whenever necessary.

Name: Cera
Gender: Female
Species: Triceratops prorsus
Notes: Has visible brow horns due to the fact all five main leads plus the additional sixth OC lead have the appearance of teenagers rather than kids for reasons akin to the fact they're much larger than their canon selves despite being the same age, and thus they were drawn to look older to be more in line with their larger size when compared to adults of their own kind. You'll notice this a lot with Spike's redesign. Meanwhile, Cera was changed into T. prorsus simply due to the fact T. horridus is used in media way too much in comparison; everyone else, in contrast, also ended up getting changed into a larger species/genus sans Littlefoot who was changed due to a different reason instead. Her new coloration involves a lot of black and dull purples, since that's pretty much much more accurate to Topsy and her mother. Speaking of her mother, the fanfic explains her and her non-older siblings as having perished by falling into the ground with several other Dinosaurs.

Name: Ducky
Gender: Female
Species: Saurolophus angustirostris
Notes: Was changed into her larger species as a means of reinforcing her redesign making her look larger and older much like the others, as personally Ducky was far too small compared to her mother in the actual canon; she looked practically unchanged from her infantile self at the beginning of the first movie to make matters worse. Her coloration changes from a dull yellow/green to a more vibrant green mixed in with reddish orange markings and green eyes. Also while her father is alive but has a minor role in the movies, her father is killed off in the fanfic by unknown means before Sharptooth arrives and begins to eat considering while not noticed at first, Ducky's dad was lying dead already long before Sharptooth or Ducky had found his body sometime after the Great Earthshake had occurred. Also, as for how Ducky gets her name, a bunch of Gansus constantly muttering the word "Ducky" over and over repeatedly where in the area when she had hatched. At first she confused the word for what the birds are, but then began calling herself Ducky when they directed their attention towards her and continued saying the word over and over. Also, yes, the birds' chanting of a single word over and over are a reference to the Seagulls from Finding Nemo.

Name: Petrie
Gender: Male
Species: Geosternbergia sternbergi
Notes: All Pterosaurs eat either insects, fish, or meat in the fanfic. No exceptions and which of the three depends on the species in question. Petrie eats fish as to be expected. Also, as for the genus change, fun fact about that. I designed his appearance before I double checked Pteranodon's head crest varieties, and I ended up accidentally drawing Petrie with a crest associated solely with Geosternbergia instead of one for Pteranodon. Also worth noting is that Pterano is changed from being Petrie's uncle to being his father, as to give an explanation as to what happened to Petrie's father and also considering Pterano pretty much looks more akin to an older Petrie in looks, and if it wasn't for the word uncle being thrown around in Movie 7, I would've otherwise kept calling Pterano as Petrie's dad as a kid since this was also the first time I had ever seen an adult relative of Petrie that was male (indicated by the head crest and such). Also, due to the genus change, Pterano's head crest is also going to get modified as well to a much more vibrant matured version of Petrie's head crest. Also worth noting is that Pterano's role during the events of the original movie are referenced in the Movie 1 Arc by Petrie when he's asked about how he had gotten separated (since Petrie can fly just fine right off of the bat here).

Name: Spike
Gender: Male
Species: Stegosaurus ungulatus
Notes: Spike actually can talk; he just chooses not to after having been traumatized by the death of his own herd at the hands of Sharptooth, since he believes so much as making a single sound will alert his Sharptooth to his presence. Spike showcases the most physical development among the redesigns, although only Petrie is actually older than the canon depictions of the original five. Spike is also older and has a different introduction than his canon self for obvious reasons. His big appetite remains intact, though. Him being adopted into Ducky's family also remains intact.

Visual Art / MF217's Art Thread

... AKA the Chronicle-King art thread since my username on DeviantArt is Chronicle-King.

Since a good chunk of these images are too big to post as standalone images, I'll post them as links instead.

This picture I have here is of an Orca, nothing overly special about it sans the fact the picture represents a fictional subspecies for my own original works.

Next up we have my Author Avatar, known as Grandis. On the exterior he appears to be an armored to the core, chasing you down sort of nutcase who will ensure his targets' ass become the grass. Or something like that. On the inside, however, he's a lot more to it than one would initially seem.

Up next is Daegladi Sr., an old, aged Tyrannosaurid of sorts who is noted for his massive size and stature when compared to even Spinosaurus. At a good 108 feet long and standing 35.1 feet tall, Daegladi Sr. does not roar to intimidate; his imposing glares alone do that job already.

Last for this post is RX -Odin-, and odd name I'm certain but a name nevertheless. RX is the main antagonist of my second major fan fiction ever since I had continued writing fan fiction beginning with Truth and Ideals (Pokemon related, not LBT related. Sorry). DinoSquad RX is even named after him, which is also the only current hint of his presence in the story... for now.

Speaking of RX, enjoy this finalized story cover for DinoSquad RX while you're at it. On the cover you'll see Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Edmontosaurus, Anzu, and lastly Dakotaraptor.

Or you could call me Chronicle-King, Shiramu-Kuromu, among other side usernames...

But for those who are unaware of me, you're perhaps wondering who I am, yes? I'm pretty sure everybody has had that question regarding me before. In one way or another, that is true, yes. For those who truly wish to know me, though, allow me to begin. I am MightyFan217, but I have many other usernames I go by on the internet as well.

Sometimes frequently visiting the Land Before Time Wiki, among other small communities on DeviantArt, I'm somewhat of a ghost to those who don't know me. Even among my own artwork I draw on DeviantArt, I'm not often acknowledged for my efforts as a whole. Regardless, though, it doesn't matter. Here I am, face me now, for I hope to enjoy the company here at this fan site.
