I got an Idea for a digimon Idea.
Here's the Idea
Humans are brought to the digital world and are turned into digimon, only they can't change back. So while unraviling the mystery as to how and why they're here. (Because the 'real world' will be our world, the year 2012, and digimon are a franchice). Also level alone does not determin strength or age, nor attribute (Data, vaccine, virus) determine if your good or evil.

I already know what Digimon I would like to be! *looks over at Viral Cherubimon, my all-time fav Digimon* Though it'll probably be better if I start as a Lopmon.
It'll be fun trying to learn how to use attacks and how to control our newfound ability to digivolve!

Sounds like it could be interesting. I guess most will pick to be their favorite digimon. What if 2 like the same type of digimon? And are only certain seasons allowed or all to pick a digimon one wants to be for a person to pick the type of digimon they are turned into?

No, Viral Cherubimon is fine, just human height for now and as I said before, Level won't determine strength, experiance will. Also I'm going to have our characters be able to use digimon cards to enhance their own powers (Temmperarly) also digimon cards are as common in the digital world as they are here. And two sports have emerged. Card games, and the more dangerous digibattles. Which are held in special colloseum like octigon cages (Like MMA) that weaken attacks only to the point where killing is not possible, but they still hurt. also a digivice is a common tool and has features like a smart phone.

yes any stage, but to keep from over powering ourselves, we'll start by having the strength level of a rookie, or maybe a armored digimon, lower champion at most. then as our characters battle and gain experiance, they will get stronger.

I was wondering what sort of rating this had so I know what kind of content I can include for fight scenes. Is it rated PG so there is violence but not detailed violence, or is the rating higher? Higher rating meaning adding blood/leaking digicode

This sounds cool, but I'm sure whether to pick Gaomon or Flamedramon, or other Digimon that have appeared on the later seasons. I've seen all of seasons 1 through 3, some of 4 and 5, but none of 6 or the movies. I'll do some quick research before I make my choice.

Hmm, I think I know who I'd want to play as probabally....maybe....I mean, I like Gatomon, she's awesome and all, but am unsure about her other forms. While say, the female Angemon is cool and all (I forget the name now XD), i'm just a bit iffy about it. I guess it's cause I just like Gatomon is all XD
Hmm, or there's also Palmon, cause she gets to go into the cactus form (I forget its name as well right now), as well as Lilymon....who is awesome too.

Agumon? Where did you get that one from now? I don't think I mentioned that, just Palmon as the other one. But if we aren't to Digivolve....hmm, not sure just yet XD
I mean, in the end, I might stick with Gatomon as is, cause she is indeed, awesome as is....and hopefully, Digivolving isn't actually required either.

Question 1: Will the characters instantly be digimon when they go to the digital world or will it happen sometime down the line in the rp sort of like digimon season 4?
Question 2: Are characters allowed to bring any tech items such as a laptop, phone or ipod?

I think that's a great idea in solving the gender problem!! Though I don't think you'll be any less of a man if you turn into a Gatomon :lol :lol .
But, yeah, that gender thing is something for me to think about. I read that the Digi-writers had made efforts to avoid female Cherubimon since everyone's used to seeing them as male. That's why the female Lopmon in season three never reached Mega level. To be a Viral Cherubimon I'll probably have to change my gender to being a guy, or follow Mr. Drake's example.
I'm cool with it either way, as it'll have the same result, really. Besides lotsa people who don't know me on the internet automatically assume I'm a dude until I say otherwise. :rolleyes:

They do sound very useful. But how will the digimon keep them on them since they don't have pockets. Will there be an arm band, or someother sort of thing to keep them on or in?
I guess the characters know how to use the abilities and attacks of the Digimon the characters turn into, like Agumon's Pepper Breath, Guilmon's Pyrosphere & such?

the digimon have straps for the digivices, which vary to accommodate the various different digimon and places for their cards.

digivolving is optional, but after a tough battle, or taking too much damage you can dedigivolve. You can also digivolve with cards.

Modify cards. Please forgive me for this one, but I am asuming that they're from season 3 I think it was? Or season 4? Not sure myself, but I know what you're talking about in general.
But might you be able to link me to the modify cards in general? It's been a while since I've seen them in the anime as is, that's all XD

accepted, but I added digivice color to the sheet.
The Digivice's similar to the D-tecters from season 4, but more squarish in shape and have a card reader and strap. They also have a larger screen like a smart phone with a touch screen. It has the processing power of a supper computer and more apps than an I-phone.

Personality: Not exactly friendly at first, tends to be a bit snarky too. But in general, getting past all of that, she isn't too bad to get along with either.
Favorite modify cards: Speed, Heat (apparantly, gives the Digimon a flaming fist XD), Hypersonic, Radiant Form
Digivice color: Black (cause it looks cool XD)
Bio: Zoe is a loner, but most of the time, tries to prefeer it that way. She too tends to keep to herself for her own reasons, so her backstory is mostly unknown.

Digimon form: Viral Cherubimon
Personality: Mostly very friendly, but not particularly social. She tends to get easily excited, but her moods can change drastically for seemingly no reason. As such, she can get very sulky and pretty hostile (aka, violent and destructive) when she’s mad.
Favorite modify cards: Targeting, Power, Stamina, Speed, and Heat
Digivice color: Black with red trims and an aqua blue strap
Bio: Everything about her childhood was less-than-favorable. She had absolutely no friends, and every single person was a major enemy to her (understatement). The adults were of no help; either making things worse or joining in on humiliating her in any way possible. Her parents noticeably favored her siblings, seemingly only to notice her when things go wrong and she took the blame. Her trust and faith in her fellow humans was almost-completely shattered. Growing apathetic and increasingly spiteful in her early teenage years, she bore no care to those around her and took great amusement when she saw them struggling, though she herself never caused pain to anyone (always preferring to keep to herself and release her violent tendencies on inanimate objects). To her, only animals deserved the love and care she had left and she tends to keep a lot of pets, especially rats. But luckily, things began taking a turn for the better when her family moved to a new place and the people there were surprisingly friendly. She felt her hatred melt away little by little over the next few years until she finally came to be a much more pleasant and happy person. She still has some trust issues and only has very few friends, but it’s certainly an improvement. Though if you hurt her enough and display genuine ill intentions towards her, her old self will reemerge in response and you’ll forever be on her Grudge List as she never forgives and forgets.

Oh boy, long time I don't post in a topic different than some birthday ones :blink: .
A Digimon RPG sounds very interesting, I would rather have a Digimon partner... but maybe a player can be allowed to meet a Digimon friend so they can do tactics if in a combat?
I was also thinking, what kind of Digiworld could be? like in Season3 with the Mythical Digimons as the sovereigns or the Digiworld run by Yggdrassil?
I am still unsure about participating yet because of sad experiences with rpgs before, so I am kinda shy for now, but I will be taking a look at this one. Keep it up everybody!

Digivice color: Gold/black, integrated into his arm guard.
Team: Somehow, Eric has attracted the attention of three Wild Digimon, who now follow him as his allies
Tsume and Tsubaki: Twin Renamon Sisters, who tend to come off as extremely flirtatious, even towards each other
Akihiro: A nearly mute CannonBeemon who primarily serves as a source of transportation and fire support for Eric and the Sisters.

And as for the sisters, let's just put it that there will be some heavy subtext.

It's a digi-modify, but since Eric doesn't have any standard modify cards, he comes substitutes it with using Digimon's cards.
And the subtext is semi-sexual. No more so than the show had.

And that is illogical, modify cards from our world are the same in the digital world, there is no diffence!

It had minor hints in the Japanese versions.
And as for the Digi-modify cards, Eric never played the card game, nor did he have any cards besides the ones he was given, which were all monsters.

By the way, I would asume that we could bring in a Digimon of sorts as an encounter sort of thing? I mean, was thinking of doing that for Zoe and Dan, as in, a Digimon shows up to sort of attack them.....and in turn.....cue the running or something like that if they don't decide to fight back XD
Might be another way of also having them two run into everyone else too.

guys just as a reminder
we don't ban or kick anyone out for thier first infraction on this board unless it is severe. it is also up to the admins to give sanctions or warning. reporting someone is reserved for large and serious infractions. handle things in pms, so that there is not a big poublic to-do, i find it is better that way than reporting people.. while the rp gm has final say, the rpers are free to use individual expression as long as it conforms to the rp rules. go read them if you have any questions..

I think for an rp- adding in fight encounters before reaching a goal is pretty standard- so far the goal is to meet up then go to a 'dojo'

I wasnn't trying to Ban anybody. Starfalraptor had posted for a character I had rejected, I'd say that would count for a report. I just wanted the posts, not just the text in them removd from the In character Roleplay.
The posts were edited to remove the text, but the fact that they (the posts) were even made is what escladed this. I have not, do not, nor ever wanted anyone banned, But I had trusted him not to post until his character had been approved once all the problems were hammered out.

well he jumped the gun. it happens sometimes. when rps start often times people will post before fully forming a character just to get the story underway. you often tweak the character as the story moves along. usually in cases like that, you pm each other so you keep the argument or discussion out of the rp, because arguments can stop and sidetrack a story if they go on too long. reporting soomeone should only happen as a last resort, as i am the only adsmin on here who manages the rp secxtion regularly, and i was absent this weekend. if i had been here perhaps this issue wouldn't have gotten so bad. but since you seem to have hammered things out, please continue

No Nick, as the creator of the thread, the fault is mine to bear. I failed to list the Individual Problems and this what happened. I also failed to outline the rules for this RP.
1. Do not post for a character unless I have approved it.
2. No speed posting, wait until at least two players have a chance to post ( Double posting does no count as two)
3. Keep sexual content appropriote for kids, as in the target AMERICAN audince of the show.
4. The 'Digidestined do not have partner digimon (Unless they form alliance's with naitive digimon, but they are not partners in the traditional since) They ARE the digimon, and all the time.
5. No swearing.
6. spelling is important, An Rp's no fun if you can't understand what's going on.
7. If you control more than one character, please try to post for them all in one post, even if they are not all together.
