I especially liked the "Spanish Buzz" twist. To be honest, to me, the Buzz & Jessie relationship that appeared at the end of the second movie sort of came out of left field. I mean, NO ONE expected that at the time. Seriously, who expected him to fall for a Cowgirl at the time. I sure didn't. That's probably one of the most unique relationships I've ever seen.
To me, when you put a relationship into a movie, it becomes a big thing. However, to really "wow" me with it, you have to do something unique. That's why I was disappointed with the idea of the Ken & Barbie relationship. I mean, these two toys have been modeled as a couple for YEARS! Years and years! Everyone saw it coming. To me, the relationship as the names we've known meant nothing. However, it was the couple itself, their character, that really surprised me.
Here's Ken, a guy who turns out to be a complete jerk, and he's willing to change his ways just for this girl that EVERYONE in the audience expected him to fall for. They showed one of the biggest tests of love, which is working through your problems and showing that the love is there, regardless of what wrong you have done. (Save for probably killing someone that the other cared about.) They took that and they did it well. I'm surprised actually, I really am. I didn't like the couple itself, but I loved what they did with it.
Also, I was a little saddened that Bo Peep wasn't around. Sure, all she did was flirt with Woody, but at least they were a good couple.
The villain in this is what surprised me most. You never see it coming. It's a toy you would NEVER expect to be a villain, even with me telling you this. I was really shocked when I found out who the villain in this one was. I just never saw it coming.
Seriously, this is a series that is FULL of surprises. You really should give it a chance, ScratteLover.
