Title: YAY! I Finally Got It!!!
Post by: landbeforetimelover on January 12, 2008, 11:55:04 AM
Start your morning off right by watching a new land before time tv episode!  Doctor recommended for better health. :lol I just got the amazing threehorn girl recorded.  Sorry it took so long.  The new dvd recorder of mine was being a.....well...a bad word.  Anyone too tall to go into the ball pen in Mcdonalds knows which word I'm talking about. :lol To watch "the amazing threehorn girl" (the episode, not the actual thing), just follow the link in my signature (either the "watch/dl lbt tv series" or the "my lbt website" link)

I used a new compression algorithm, making the quality much better while the size of the file is the same.  YAY!!!

Happy watching! :D

And after you finish watching it, you can discuss it here:

I'd like to watch it, but my laptop is such a piece of junk that I don't think it would be a good idea. I guess I'll need to find another computer to watch it on. :bang

You're welcome.  I hope to catch "the great egg adventure" on the 15th, "march of the sand creepers" on the 16th (god, I wanna see that one!), and "Through the eyes of a spiketail" on the 23rd. :D I've already got the timer set up to automatically record them at 10am. :D Too bad I'll be in school when they're airing.  I'll have to watch the recording for my first time too. -_-

Good luck on getting those.  Maybe some others can record also and send you a copy if need be.

That would be nice since my DVD recorder isn't very reliable, but I doubt anyone else here besides Action and a few others would have the knowledge to be able to transfer what they record to the computer.  Sadly, the members who know how to do that all live outside the US and therefore can't record the shows since these episodes aren't airing outside the US.

It takes many advanced programs to transfer what you record on a DVD player to the computer, especially when size is an issue.  I had to use these programs to get the recorded LBT ep onto the computer and onto my site:

Ulead multimedia studio pro

easy video splitter

easy video joiner

allok video joiner (It also repairs AVI's with bad seeking, which I have to do frequently)

windows media player (for a minimal of encoding)

super DVD recoder

a dvd decoding program my friend made

soundmx (to resync the sound after it gets separated from the video)

av music morpher gold

ashampoo movie shrink and burn (the best video compressor I've ever seen)

and some odd audio correction program I needed cuz the sound kept getting corrupted after I recoded the video each time

You could do this another way, but this way produces the best quality video with the lowest possible file size.  I had to recode the video nearly a dozen times and resync the audio half that many times.  It's no easy task to get the recorded tv episode into 300mb with full DVD quality and 19mb when it's on the site for streaming.  The recorded video file was 4,119mb on disk. :wow

I could back-up the episodes for you. My method of recording off TV is much less complicated than yours but I can't vouch much for quality because I haven't watched anything I've logged into my collection.

I record the show via my DVR, then record the show off the DVR on my DVD Recorder with a DVD-RW, then I copy the video off the DVD-RW onto my computer to get the file on my computer. Then I do whatever I want to it with my various programs and I'm done. I don't upload, though XD

Anyway, let me know if you'd like me to record the episodes in case you miss them. I only have so much space on my DVR so I tend to delete things right after I watch them.

I think there is only 1 episode left, through the eyes of a spiketail.  If you could do that in case landbeforetimelover misses it accidentally just in case, that may be of help to it, only it could say for sure..

Thank you for the offer, but I won't miss anything because I can set timers months in advance.  I've already set up the recording for tomorrow the day after "march of the sand creepers" aired. :D
