1988 Theatrical Release / My old idea...
« on: January 31, 2007, 05:35:46 PM »
Thanks to these clips I found on you tube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_MkupYfIdA Land Before Time (Water ghost)

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q64AGWNgKc The Lion King (Water and cloud ghost)

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2MKjhei27A Land Before Time (Cloud ghost)

It is easier to compare the very similar scenes, with the ghost/spirit in the water/clouds. The idea of mine was that TLK partly copied that scene from LBT, and here is what might be the proof. You decide. Note that I did not post the clips on You Tube, I just found them. It's also worth noting that the Lion King scene was also taken partly from Hamlet.

P.S. The Land Before Time came out in 1988, The Lion King came out in 1994.

Episode Discussion / Discuss: The Great Log Running Game
« on: January 28, 2007, 12:48:03 PM »
I thought it was good, but we missed something that happened in the twelth movie. It appears that Tricia's birth may have made "Topsy" become less harsh and more tolerant (he's definitely changed since the first movie.) Also, I wondered what would happen if a character got injured in some way... although this injury is much more slight than I had in mind.

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Predictions
« on: January 21, 2007, 11:23:49 PM »
Personally, I don't know. So far, I can predict/deduce a couple of things:

1. The group of... seven... won't really be able to leave the valley and return in a half-hour episode, so most of the episodes should take place in or around the valley... unless an episode consists of a character telling a story or has a flashback to some other place and time.

2. That the anatagonist Redclaw will eventually cause trouble; so far, we have only seen him in a flashback, and we don't know if he appeared in the first two episodes. If he entered the valley, we would probably have a repeat battle of the fight in movie II.

As for whether any guest characters come back (Ali, Bron, Mo, etc), we cannot tell, but probably shoulden't count on it. Still, it would be helpful for the creators of the show if they needed an "instant episode"; for example, they could just put in Bron, and half the episode would be the other character's reactions to his appearance. I suppose it would be interesting to see what would happen if Cera's father ever met Bron. As for Ali's return... it's been 11 years, and we're still waiting.

P.S. This is my 100th post!!

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Information on the series
« on: January 05, 2007, 10:39:24 PM »
I found this on Red Claw and some other characters:

Red Claw

Red Claw is a male tyrannosaur who has a distinctive scar that that goes through his left eye. He is the prominent antagonist in the tv series.

Ruby

Ruby is a new friend of Littlefoot and his friends. She is a female orthoniaptor

Screech

Screech is one of the two velociraptor companions of Redclaw.

Two things to point out:

1. This is from wikipedia and hence, can be inaccurate.

2. Do you think that the scar on the left eye can mean anything? 1st movie's tyannosaurus? Note that this is all speculation and little of this is proven fact.
