Unofficial July 2010 LBT Fanart Contest!

For July, I am setting up an unofficial contest in remembrance of The Land Before Time.

All entries for this contest will be put into my next video.  So, I shall simply make a slide-show of all the entries.

The rules are simple.

1. Every entry must contain at least one character from the franchise.  Let's face it.  It wouldn't be a picture of The Land Before Time without one of the characters.  So please, put at least one of them in.

2. No Porn, period! I think we can all agree on this one.  No porn, bottom line.  I will accept romantic moments, but not ones that go THAT far.

3. It can be made from anything.  Be it Paint, GIMP, Photoshop, I'll even accept a picture of a drawing on a piece of paper.  No matter what it's made from, I'll accept it.

4. All entries you make must have your name on it.  For those that would like to keep their identity more private, I will allow you to put on a nickname of sorts.  Other than that, just make sure your name is on it.  This will allow me to have a much easier time giving credit to those that deserve it.

5. All entries must be put into a special Drop Box.  I created a Drop Box for this ahead of time.  Go to the following address, scroll down to find the Drop Box and put it in there.

You can show it off on this forum and other places if you like, but just make sure to put it into the Drop Box for it to be an "official" entry for the contest.

All entries must be received by July 31, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST. I will not accept any entries later than that.  You can put them into the Drop Box after that time, they just won't be accepted.

So, hope you guys will enter and assist me on this huge "Fan Project" of mine.  Thanks to all those who enter.

Oh, and one last thing.  It won't just be you guys entering.  I will also be putting an announcement of this on YouTube.  So yeah, you have quite a bit of competition for this.  I'm just giving you guys a bit of a head start.

I feel it to be more fair with there being no theme, whatsoever.  This will allow others to continue to brainstorm with ideas and show off their creativity with ideas.  Many contests that are official don't have one, so I don't see the need for one even if it's unofficial.

In one way, you could say there already is one, based on TWO specific rules.  That being, at least one LBT Character and the NO PORN rule.  So... yeah!

Anyways, yeah!  No theme!  Have fun with that!

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention...  There is a prize involved for that which wins.

I'll just hint that it is hard to come by and was expensive for me to get, but I'm giving it away to the winner of this contest.

One piece of artwork I was considering attempting (it’s an idea I’ve had for a long time now, actually) was a “realistic” picture of the gang (i.e., theit appearance would be based on what real-life juvenile dinosaurs were thought to look like). Would this be acceptable?

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, I’m just curious: on what bases are you planning to judge the artwork and select a winner?

Like I said, if it's not porn, I deem it acceptable.  It doesn't matter from there.

As for the "Choosing a winner" deal, basically, I will set the entries up in a video and post it on YouTube.  From that, people will vote for ones they like the most, with the only rule being, that they can't vote for themselves.

If by the end of the voting process there's a tie, I will do another voting process out of those until a winner is decided.

As you can see, I don't choose the winner.  Rather the fans do.

The reason why I'm doing it like this?  I've never been good at judging what's best when it comes to Art. :

Well, I just went there and I do see it.  It's that big green box with text that takes up the whole width of the page.

As for your second question, you can have an OC but ONLY if you also have an official LBT Character with them on the same piece of Fanart.  Otherwise, it won't count.
